He was back. His return was without fanfare much like how he left in the first place. Things needed to be sorted out privately. Reynard had always wanted to go on a solo journey like he had seen in media. Of course that was something not easily done in modern society. The chance came since he had gone to this world as this place was purposely designed to be “adventure-friendly”. Thus the fox-tail had jumped on the opportunity try it out. The tale of that journey, would be told another time. Now it was about coming back home.
The streets looked a bit different, things were a lot more organized that he remembered. Unfortunately, the downside of being secluded from society meant he was unaware of what exactly had happened since he left. He hadn’t bothered trying to stay in contact with others even those on his friendlist. It was a bit awkward to say: “hey I left without telling anyone, mind informing me what is happening there?” The downsides of emulating a loner character.
What was familiar were the food stalls lined up at the streets. Food was thankfully better than when he first arrived in Londonium, actually having flavor now. Reynard was looking forward to eating something a bit more “cultured” than what he managed to scrounge up in the wild or trade with passing adventurers. After buying his sandwich, Reynard walked to one of the benches at the side to eat. Remembering to curl his tail before sitting down, Reynard opened his simple meal. Even if the flavor was simple, the fact that it didn’t taste like crackers made it heavensent.
There was a slight sense of something missing in this scene making Reynard analyze his situation. Returning back to the city, buying a sandwich, sitting on a bench… what was missing? As he was pondering, the fox-tail crumpled his leftover wrapper and searched for a receptacle to dispose of it. There was one close but it meant getting up which Reynard was not really inclined to do. Instead, he threw the ball of paper towards the can… only to miss it completely.
And that is why I am not a shooter class.
Not wanting to be blamed for littering, Reynard dejectedly got up anyway to throw his trash properly.
Hopefully something would go right today.

It was still pretty early in the day when Ame decided she would try her hand at getting some new ingredients at the shops. She had missed the openings, which normally held all of the really good finds, but she hoped she could at least grab a few things that she needed for her shop and since her stomach had rumbled hungrily at her, she decided she would have to get something for lunch as well. She had a lot of food in her inventory, but she wanted something different, she just didn't know what. She wondered if she should call Lavinia, or one of ther other friends to join her for a meal, as she really didn't like eating alone, though if she had to, she would. She decided that she should do her running around first and then message her.
As she wandered through the street, stopping at some of the vendors along the way, she noticed a piece of trash fly through the air. She looked down at the items she had purchased, as she normally didn't store them in her inventory and opened her interface. Just for today, she put the items in her inventory and headed towards the mysterious waste on the ground. She wasn't much of a nit pick, but if anything got to her, it was people just carelessly leaving garbage on the ground. The occurrence was a rare one, but in the beginning, the land was littered with, well, litter and she had done her best to help clean it up, especially in Sarum, though she made them food, she still tried her best to rid of the pollution of the torn down buildings that had rotted their street. She had done so much since she had arrived in the world of Elder Tale. She had participated in every event that she could get her hands on and even helped random adventurers and Landers alike. She thought back to her first arrival, meeting Emmerich and Reynard and even partying up with them to learn the battle system. Now that she thought about it, she figured that perhaps she would try her hand at contacting Rey, since she had, after all, promised him a lunch, or at least some food.
As she came up to the piece of trash, she noticed someone had beaten her to it, possibly the culprit of the mysterious flying waste. She smiled and was about to turn away from the person, the man, but then she tilted her head and just stopped, standing to watch him. On the inside, she giggled. Speak of the devil, and he shall arrive, though the person before her was far from the devil, she had spoken of him. She nodded her head and picked up her feet. As she neared him, she smiled and with her sweet voice and a raise of her hand said, "Hey Rey! Long time no see!" She remembered the last time being the wedding, though she had drank so much, she barely remembered the nights events. She wondered if he could enlighten her to what exactly she had done as she really didn't even remember the cake that had been consumed, but she wouldn't mention it, after all, that had been a while ago and he probably wouldn't really know anyways, or possibly wouldn't even remember it. "How have you been?" She would continue to smile and wait for him to respond to her.

Reynard was already bending down to pick up the trash when a familiar voice suddenly called out to him. Standing back up, the foxtail turned to the source of the voice, another very recognizable foxtail as well.
“Kitty,”
His own face sported a similar smile to Kitty’s. Though hers was brighter than his could ever be. His tail on the other hand, may have been a tad more excited than hers with how fast it was wagging right now.
Last time they had been in the same place was the wedding as she sat beside him during the ceremony. Albeit things were a bit hazy after the cake, booze, cake, partying and more cake. Even he was skeptical if he had managed to properly socialize with her during the reception. He never did get an answer to his question, or if he even managed to answer it at all. The booze must have been really good that time.
Coming back from his tangent thoughts, the cleric remembered he was in the presence of another person right now. It had been a while since he last interacted with another adventurer. Again, story for another time.
“I have been well. I would inquire about your own condition but I can tell you have been faring excellently.”
Indeed she looked like she was doing well. Just from a quick glance at her status bar, Reynard could tell just how high her current skill level was. It seemed she had no problem handling this world as she had feared before.
“Instead, I shall ask what you were planning to do before you greeted me.”
His question was punctured by a twitch of his fox ears.

As the man known as Rey, responded to her by her screen nickname, she felt her ears twitch as her tail swayed happily from the sound, back and forth. It had been a long while she she had seen the fox tail cleric, like herself and really, she had almost convinced herself that he had somehow found his way out of the game world, but, to her surprise, he was standing right in front of her, looking quite well.
She felt her face turn a slight pink color as she noticed his also wagging tail, frantically moving back and forth, a sign that he was excited to see her. At his words, her face flushed a bit more and she knew instantly that he was speaking of her level. She let out a nervous laugh and smiled wide. "Well, I had a great teacher! Thank you!" She lowered her body into a bow and held her hands together as she did so, but as he spoke again, she stood straight and put her hand behind her head. "Oh, well, actually, I was just about to go home and cook some lunch for myself. Would you like to join? I'm really good at it!" She giggled as she spoke, but it was true, she hadn't burnt anything she cooked and she had yet to receive a bad review of her cooking.
She put her hands behind her back and would wait for his answer, quickly glancing at his own level. Twenty- seven. It had been a while since they saw one another and she honestly thought that he would have surpassed her quickly, but she was proving to be the grasshopper who could blow her teachers levels out of the water. She bit her lip at the thought. Obviously it hadn't been intention, but even her animal training trainer had been surpassed by her. Even still, it made her wonder what he had been doing all of this time? It was true, that she hadn't spent a moment not leveling up her skills, or meeting new friends or even helping out the new players with quests and what not, but, her and Reynard had arrived here at the same time. "I hope you don't think this rude of me but," she blushed and took a step towards him. "What have you been doing? Where have you been?" She felt her upper body lean in closer to him, anticipating his next words.

OOC: No problem, not in a hurry or anything
While Reynard would like to think he was initial responsible for Kitty’s current level, he knew it would be lie if he took credit for it. Whatever he had taught her before was the bare-basics. Her current level was due to her own perseverance. Compared to Reynard, her work ethic must have been extraordinary. Then again, Reynard had placed leveling on the backburner and barely did any exp gathering during that time. He should probably get back to it if someone who started less experienced than him managed to four times higher leveled than him already.
However, he still had a current problem that needed to be solved: his hunger. While the sandwich was okay, he could use more food right now. The only reason he had purchased the small meal was due to the amount of money he had on-hand. The rest of it was still in the bank which he hadn’t had time to withdraw. The gods of this world must be smiling down on him right now when Kitty offered to cook. Free food and a chance to catch up? Reynard was all for that.
“I gratefully accept your offer for a meal. A home cooked meal from you should be interesting.”
Speaking of home, he should probably report back to the Guild Home soon. Technically he would end up at the guild house if he ever died on the field, but since that didn’t happen; the guild would probably have no word on his whereabouts. Reporting back could wait as he had the invitation of a lifetime right now. Surely they could wait a few more hours?
“No problem, Kitty. I have not done much since we last saw each other. Mostly venturing outside the city to explore and go on a spiritual quest, which was effective. Unfortunately such a journey does not accumulate Exp, thus my low level.”
Which was something he was planning on rectifying soon.
“How about yourself? I infer many things have happened to you lately.”
Reynard would follow Kitty to her home, assuming she would lead the way. All the while, his tail continued move back and forth albeit in a more moderate pace now.

Ame smiled to the fox tail cleric as he spoke, saying he was interested in trying a home cooked meal from her. "Have you tried a chef class's food yet?" She tilted her head to him. If he hadn't, he probably didn't know that her food would actually have taste, as opposed to the salty cracker taste of the Lander's food that they had had together once before. She honestly hoped that he hadn't. She wanted him to bite into it and have the taste explode his senses, figuratively speaking of course. "And is there anything special you would like me to make for you? Whatever you want!" She clapped her hands together and smiled widely. She wanted so badly for him to experience something from their home world and she really hoped that he would choose something that he would like made.
With his explanation of where he had been, she nodded her head. She too, had taken a spiritual quest of sorts, but her lonesome quest had turned into something terrifying. The thought made her shiver lightly and she shook her head mentally to stop it from sinking in any further. "Well, that makes sense then. I hope it was worth it at least." She smiled warmly to him and her tail swayed gently behind her. As he asked her what she had been doing, she took a deep breath in and then let out a small giggle. "Well, I have been doing, everything I can. I've fought a phantom train conductor, joined a guild, actually," she paused, narrowing her eyes. She wasn't sure if she should tell him this next part, but she felt as though he should know, just in case he didn't want to be her friend still or something. Since she had left, there had been a bit of tension in the air whenever she was around her former guild mates. "The guild I was in was Aeryn. The guild you're in. But I left recently and joined a different guild. I even went on my own spiritual journey, but that led to me meeting a girl named Capsule, and I saw Tobin there too and well, we had to fight Slenderman..." She shook her head as a cover for her next shiver and sighed. "That was really scary.." She looked to the ground but quickly back up at him and smiled. "But we managed to beat him. Out of all the things I've done, I haven't managed to die once! And.."
She paused for a moment, and concentrated her mind on her body, closing her eyes for a moment. When she opened them again, eight tails would have formed behind her, each wagging itself excitedly. "I have eight tails! I'm hoping when I reach level ninety, I'll have nine, you know, be a nine- tails!" She giggled again, hoping he would get the Pokemon reference, though some people also seemed to relate her words to Naruto, the whole nine- tailed fox demon and all. She tilted her head and smiled widely but as she put her tails away, she grabbed onto his hand. "Come on Rey, we talk talk more at my house!" Her face glowed with happiness as she began to run, pulling Reynard along with her. She one tail wagged happily behind her as she picked up her feet and ran. It wouldn't be long before they reached her house.

Londonium looked better off in the short time he was gone. Even just by walking around and following kittygrey, Reynard could get a glimpse on the changes which had occurred while he was gone. Things were already settling down when he left so the lack of squatters on the streets had disappeared already. Things were more orderly and cleaner which made the city look less like the aftermath of an apocalypse. It was the sudden boom of market stalls which had showed how much had changed. Adventurers were also heading shops now selling all sorts of wares from adventuring gear to vanity items. Of course food would always remain as the most numerous of the lot. People did have to eat 3 times a day, some even more.
“Indeed I have previously tried chef’s class food. Even a brewer’s concoction at multiple points.”
In fact she and he had attended a wedding before he really disappeared so she should have remembered that. Unless that was some reception party which made her forget about it. Then again, even he was unaware of what happened during the reception.
“Hmmm…. I have no special request. Your specialty then since I am curious to see what food you would prioritize on perfecting.”
Kitty continued on her adorable ways while she gave him a brief summary of what she had been up to while she was gone. Some of those things sounded familiar such as the train. Others piqued his curiosity such as her battle with a Slenderman. Reynard was not familiar with that monster type. But joining Aeryn was the one that most intrigued him at the moment as it was, like she said, his guild. He was curious as to why she left as she judging by her voice, it didn’t seem like it was on the best of terms. Now would not be the time to ask her. Maybe later if he remembered.
Now showing off her eight-tails was just bragging. Reynard was a Fox-tail so he may have understood the standing multiple tails meant for his race. Even if he felt dealing with one tail was a nightmare already and more would just be hell. At least he was comforted with the idea he could merge them back into one for practical reasons.
Before he could voice out his comparison with Pokemon at her, a warm feeling grabbed his hand and pulled his arm forward. Kitty seemed very excited to show of her skills and had taken to drag him at a faster pace. Reynard followed with a small smile on his face and tail wagging excitedly.

As Rey spoke, saying that he had, indeed, tried a chef's class cooking, she smiled warmly. She couldn't help feel a little upset that she wouldn't be the first to show him a new side of food on Elder Tale, but she had also expected him to have already tried it. Regardless of the facts, however, she would try her best to surprise him with her wonderful cooking skills. Though, as he told her to make her specialty, she spent the entire time they were heading to her house, trying to figure out just what that was. She had made many different kinds of foods, even created a new recipe for the cooking subclass, yet, she wasn't sure of what her own specialty would be. It would take some time for her to truly think of what she could make to impress him and to think of what her specialty actually was. She was an impressive cook, no one had ever been left disappointed, but she felt the need to knock his palette into another world.
As they reached her home, she stopped, and she blushed as she let go of her hand. She gave him an awkward smile, but her tail wagged happily. She hadn't realized that she had held it for the entire journey, though it truly wasn't a long distance. She took a step forward and opened the door of her quaint home. It was one level, a pale blue color with a yellow door and large, open windows in the front. As they entered, he would see three tables, each surrounded by four chairs, four large bookshelves and a counter, complete with a glass encased shelf for products. The room was large, but with only three tables, it would seem almost barren. "Uhm, this is my home. This section here is meant for a cafe. I haven't finished it yet, but I hope that soon it'll be filled with places to sit and a wide variety of baked goods." Her cheeks flushed a little but she smiled wide. "It'll take some time, but I hope you come to visit when I'm open!" She let her excitement show, her ears popping up and her tail wagging rapidly as she led him through the cafe area.
She opened a swinging door where they would meet a large kitchen. She had obviously purchased a deluxe kitchen as she spent the majority of her time there, but before she could begin to cook, she led him to yet another door. It was a solid door, unlike the swinging one and it led directly into her living room and dining area set as old school Japan with a short table and four cushions. It had come with a regular set of dining tables and chairs but she hadn't felt quite at home. There was various things placed, such as a feudal era looking painting and some knick knacks she had picked up along the way. She crossed the room and opened the patio door, where a small rabbit and a kitsune found their way inside. "This is Mamori." She patted the fox on the head and as she picked up the rabbit and rubbed her nose to his, she said, "and this is Spoticus." She set the rabbit down and he made a chipping noise at Reynard, though without the skill Tongue of Nature, he wouldn't know that he called him a little rascal and told him to leave his 'mistress' alone. He was a strange rabbit, enough said.. Ame let out an awkward chuckle and shook her head. "He, uh, has issues with men.. I think.." The fox beast, however, bowed her head to the stranger and in perfect english, said, "Welcome to our home!" It had literally taken months for her to teach the animals to speak 'human' and Spoticus still wasn't even close to the level Mamori had learnt, though that was one of the only things that she could say perfectly. Ame supposed it was sort of showing off, but, she hadn't seen the fox tail cleric in such a long time, she wanted him to know that she was doing well.
She smiled to him then and walked back into the kitchen, beckoning him to follow. Once she entered again, she sat at the island counter and patted the seat next to her. "Is there anything you don't like to eat Rey?" She tilted her head, watching him, waiting for his answer. The last thing she wanted, was to make something he didn't like, and with her luck, she'd end up making just that. It was always better to know one's likes and dislikes than to just go for it and take your chances at a hit or miss, in food anyways.

OOC: I'm not the model poster either :D Reynard could only whistle at the personal housing Kitty had purchased. Even if you took into account gaming economy and the exaggerated amount you could earn money, housing was always expensive and good money sink for games. Unless there was something broken, like say an interest rate, which developers did not foresee and cause an inflation of money for one person. Baring that exception, Kitty must have put a lot of work to purchase her house. She was even planning to turn part of it into a café, which reminded him of the café his guild had worked on before he left. He wondered how that went while he was gone.
In contrast to the normal European-style café, Kitty’s personal area was more Japanese with the shorter table and cushions exchange for chairs. While not a stranger to Japanese style sitting, Reynard was raised locally so tables and chairs were the norm. This made him wonder if the other fox-tail had Asian blood in her. The other decorations seemed to support his theory as they looked very feudal era of Japan rather than Britain.
When Kitty moved to another door of the room, Reynard assumed they were going to move again. Instead, two animals came inside similar to house pets wanting back in after playing outside. A kitsune came in which Kitty introduced as Mamori, fondly petting him on the head. Reynard missed another animal enter up until Kitty picked it up which caused Reynard to tense unexpectedly. Reynard almost pulled his weapon out at the sight of the beast but Kitty’s presence reminded him this was not the wilds or his crazy guild’s hall. His ears and tail relaxed… a bit
“And this is Spoticus.”
You have to understand the last few encounters Reynard would have had with rabbits were those in the wild. Before that, a very psychotic pet bunny of his forceful recruiter. All in all, not a good experience with rabbits. It didn’t help that rabbit started making hostile chirping noises at him. He did not understand what was said (Reynard vowed to get the speaking skill someday) but he could get from context that it wasn’t a welcoming kind of chirping.
“Welcome to our home!”
The fox was a sharp contrast as it wasn’t hostile and could be understood. At least one pet wasn’t outright hostile with him. He didn’t have to stay long in the room as Kitty beckoned to go back to kitchen area. Sitting beside Kitty, Reynard rested his arms on the table as she inquired about his food preferences.
“Hmmm…. I have no undesirable preferences. Except maybe pure salad as I find almost pure vegetable dishes to be unfulfilling these days. I am not sure if it is due to the kind of flora in this world or due to my own physiology.”

Ame smiled at the other fox tail. She tilted her head, still swirling around thoughts of what she should make. She had seen the wrapper that he had thrown out and knew that he had purchased a sandwich, so perhaps that wasn't the way to go. She wanted to feed him something bigger than a sandwich anyways. It had been a long while since she had made any sort of teriyaki dish, in fact, the last time she had made it had been in the real world. Perhaps now was a good time to create a dish as such, especially as her tummy let out a rumbling sound. She felt the cheeks of her face blush pink and she smirked. "Well, I believe I have come to a decision." She let out a soft giggle and went to her deluxe fridge, taking out the tender crag cow beef she had purchased not to too long ago, some fresh green beans, ginger, garlic, a jar of browned liquid and some green onion. She wished she had some edamame, but the world was quite so intricate, and she took what she could get for the time being. Perhaps if the Japanese server was ever to open up, she might have some hope of finding some, but for now, the over sized green beans were a good replacement.
Once she was finished in the fridge, she went to her dry foods cupboard and got out some egg noodles. She had prepared them herself so she hoped they turned out alright. Now was a better time than any to test out her pasta making skills. They looked good, but it was the taste that mattered. She was afraid that perhaps she had used too many eggs, as she hadn't made noodles before, but they would still be good either way. Once she had the noodles down, she reached up high, grabbing a small tin of pepper and then moving to a next cupboard to grab a bottle of canola oil and reaching for a hot red pepper paste. Once her ingredients were all laid out and ready to be prepared, she took out a medium sized pot and put some water in it, turning the heat on her stone element and placing the pot of water of the top. The one thing she didn't really like was the old fashioned oven that she had to use. It took a lot of time to heat it, but she knew she could prepare everything else while the water boiled. She looked at the paste and then to Reynard. "Do you like spicy foods Rey? I don't want to put too much in if you don't." She smiled to him and walked to the island where he was, grabbing the medium thick piece of meat. She began to pound on it lightly, causing the juices to run out of it onto the counter. The one thing about the meat of this land was that it was always so juicy as it never went bad. She loved it, but at the same time dreaded the mess it caused.
Once it was a nice texture she grabbed her straight edged carving knife and cut the beef into thin slices, slicing it on an angle and then into halves so the meat slices weren't to big. They would shrink as they cooked, but she still didn't want them to over power everything else too much. Once it was sliced, she patted the meat dry and put it on a plate to the side. She cleaned the counter of the excess juices and washed her hands. She then, put a pan on the heating stove top and covered the bottom by pouring in the canola oil. Once she waited for that to heat fully, she began to open the bean stalks and poured the contents into a bowl. Once the bowl was about three fourths full, she grabbed her Santoku knife and began to cut up the green onion, also putting it into the bowl with the beans. Once that was finished a few moments later, she took out a small grater and checked on the water. It had begun bubbling nicely at this point and was ready for the noodles. She tossed in three handfuls and then put the beef in the pan. She oil was sizzling, which meant it was ready to cook. She had about five minutes before she had to do anything else, well, other than stir the beef and tong the noodles, so she turned to Reynard and smiled. "I hope you like Teriyaki noodles. I haven't made a dish like this since the the other world so I hope they turn out alright." She smiled widely and tilted her head to him. "It's really nice to be able to see you again Rey. It's been too long." She turned back to her sizzling beef and flipped them, tonging the noddles at the same time. "It won't be long now, promise!" She turned her head and let out another smirk to him.
