Slowly Endrin walked through the market place, pausing to look at the various wares that the shop sellers had on display. The hustle and bustle of city life all around him as the people of the land went about their daily lives as they were want to do. Most of them barely even gave him a second look, not that he could blame them. He was hardly an inspiring site with his cheap armor and weapons. The craftsmanship was shoddy at best and they were in a state of disrepair. He would have fixed them himself but he didn't have the Blacksmithing skill. He had never really been good with his hands in the real world so taking a crafting class like that seemed weird to him. Not that his actual choice made any more sense, but Magitek had sounded cool. Just like Guardian had, most of his starting abilities were chosen because he liked the sound of it. Though Accountant had been chosen because of the skill. He wanted to get his own player housing someday and it seemed like the most prudent way of going about it. It was bound to be expensive so he would take the discounts where he could. And besides, he was always good at making ends meet with whatever money he could scrap together. So it just worked out.
Leaning in over one of the food stalls he sighed as his eyes feasted on the delectable looking goods that were for sale. His stomach grumbling in anticipation, but his brain reminding him that it all tasted like paste in the end. Shoulders slumping he pushed himself away from the stall in defeat, ignoring the shop keeper going on about how delicious his wares were. Best in the city even.
"That may be, but I may as well be eating cardboard." He said to himself with the smallest of frowns.
Life wasn't all bad though. He was broke, he was hungry, and his gear was shoddy but at least he was alive. And there were probably way worse places that he could be stuck. At least the game was cool, and if he died here he wouldn't die for real. So he had that going for him. He just needed to make the best of the situation somehow. And that would start with getting a little bit of coin to start things off. Maybe upgrade his gear a bit. Buy the cheapest food he could, since it made little difference in the end, and then figure out where to go from there. Though he still felt like stalling before venturing out into the world, telling himself that window shopping was prudent so he would know how much money he needed to save up to get some respectable armor and weapons. But really he was just nervous about actually going out and fighting. It wasn't the same as when it was a game anymore, and that made it a bit scary, as embarrassing as that was to admit. Even to himself, but he was no shining hero. He was just a guy.
Shaking his head as he banished that kind of thinking. There was no point kicking himself because it wasn't going to do any good. He was here and that was that. And staying in town cowering just sounded dull. He wanted to do more than just exist, because if he just sat around moping he'd go insane.
"Alright so armor first I suppose..."
He said to himself as he left the food district and wandered past the various shops housing clothing and other accessories. A lot of cloth and leather workings, which made sense since anyone could wear that stuff. But it wasn't long until he found a smith shop with several suits of armor on display. Including one that looked very functional, without all of the gaudy extras. Cheaper too he'd wager, but how much? And that's about when his jaw dropped.
"Gah! Two-Hundred Gold and you have to be level five to wear it!? So unfair."
His shoulders slunk down in momentary defeat. It didn't sound like much but when he also factored in a new shield and a weapon. It just seemed so far away at level one. Even if he knew that later making that kind of gold would be nothing. Being at the start of the game was rough, and with everyone level one as well there was no end game economy. Opening his coin purse to count how much gold he had in his inventory he clicked his tongue. Not even close to enough.
"Looks like things are going to be tight for a while. I wonder if killing trash mobs is really the best way to make money at this level though or if it would be better to try and start crafting. Though I would need raw materials for that which would need to be bought or found. Damn, I wish I had my dice. Then I could just roll and let fate decide what I want to do first. What should I do now?"

Salvaje walked the street, clearly in a bad mood. Her scarf covered her face... She was up to something. Something she shouldn't have been doing. Well a lot of what she does isn't something she should be doing. A kid as well was roaming around. She bumped into him but didn't much care as usual. In a hostile tone she spoke to him "MOVE! Dumb b***h... If it happens again I'm smackin da s**t outta ya. Ya dig?" She didn't even much care if he answered or if he had a voice. She had something on her mind, and those who knew her could tell just by her bandana that it wasn't good.
OOC: Sorry for the short post, it just makes it easier to go straight to interaction and leave open space for response... Especially this early on.

He was giving his gold another count as he ran his expenses through his head. He needed to eat, and if he wanted anything that didn't taste like cardboard that was going to cost a chunk of change right now. He needed to upkeep his inn room because sleeping out in the street wasn't the best of options for him. If he was going to go outside and start fighting monsters then he was going to need to have gold to maintain his gear, and save up for upgrading. The monsters should provide enough gold for that, or at least they would have back when this was just a game. He honestly didn't know if it worked that way anymore. It probably did though, otherwise no one would have any money to buy things. Especially with this being a new server and everyone starting out as a fresh level one character.
His thoughts were interrupted by a small commotion caused by a woman yelling at a kid. And threatening to smack him around if he bumped into her again. He quirked an eyebrow at the response, clicking his tongue in disapproval. It seemed like an awfully explosive reaction to getting bumped into in the street. Especially in the markets. He thought about whether or not it was best to get involved or not. He wasn't a part of it, and he had shopping to do. What would likely happen was that she would just yell and threaten him too, but then again they were in town. So what was she going to do? And it was a kid she was yelling at. That really wasn't cool.
"Whoa. Someone needs to calm down, have a drink or something. I'm sure the kid's sorry."
He said moving in, tucking his money back into his inventory where it would be safe.
"So why don't you just continue about your day and avoid making a scene and causing a disruption in everyone else's day. Alright Babe?"

OOC: Post ThemeSalvaje heard what was said to her. She didn't like it when people were talking back, and the guy had called attention to her anyways. Her plan was ruined. She was actually gonna let it all go, know that she was in an irritable mood. The ending however stuck to her... He called her babe. The stranger called her babe and it wasn't that wasn't cool with her. She mowed it over standing with her back to the stranger. Doing so only made it worse though, so she spun around and walked up to him. She met his gaze after intruding very deeply on his personal space. Her gaze said something scary but deep in her eyes was heavy though. With her head leaning her big X face tattoo was most apparent. She even tapped that tattoo as though daring him to act with the gesture. "As I thought..." "Ai papi, you really think what you have to say is important. Hmmm, Lemme shed some light dude. You watch how you talk to me, move around me... You be careful how you think about me. N if you wanna call me babe again, I can meet you in a field and we can see what it is. I think you owe me an apology... Understood?" She said poking him in the chest the entire time. It was never hard for her to express herself, but being delicate was pretty hard. She didn't mean to be so rough about it but she wasn't soft if people want soft they can buy a pillow.

She wanted him to punch her? That's kind of what he got from her tapping her face. His right eyebrow quirked up at that. She was a bit of a weird one. Yelling at a kid for bumping into her and then inviting anyone who called her out on it to punch her. He had no clue what her problem was, but she sure did seem to have a chip on her shoulder. Either way he wasn't about to punch her, he had no reason to hit her. The kid was unharmed and she couldn't exactly fight him here either. If she wanted to hunt him down out on the field then that was her right he supposed, but he certainly wasn't going to go take it outside like this was some kind of school yard brawl. He was a bit old for that.
"I'll pass on the apology since I didn't do anything to apologize for. But nice try on starting trouble and then acting offended to try and get an apology and play innocent. You should just relax and try and enjoy the day. It's gorgeous outside."
He rolled his eyes when she poked his chest like she was intimidating or something. She was just coming off as a bully, and he had no respect for bullies. He didn't when he was in school and he certainly didn't now. So with a small shake of his head he turned his back on the loud woman and would start to walk away, he had other things he wanted to do with his day.
"I'll be out in the field eventually if you really feel like waiting by the gate until whenever I decide to go fight monsters. Otherwise I hope you have a nice day."
He said giving her a small wave as he began to continue along his path through the markets and stalls. Wondering how much a stall would cost to open up. And if there was a monthly or weekly fee for them or if you could just buy them outright with one lump sum. He'd have to try asking around about that he supposed. Though it might be best to ask some people of the land about that? Or would the rules be different for them? Important things to think about as he wasn't expecting the loud girl to continue making a scene with him. Not unless she was really set on looking for trouble.

This guy was very good at observing. He even took the moral high ground. "The babe comment, I'm not your babe, bae or beau. That's the long and short of it, got it... then again you wouldn't know. You can try that apology thing again. Otherwise you're really pushing it. I don't even want to hurt you, but if you let one slide then the rest try and follow. You can make it easy on yourself." So the die was cast. In her head she had better things to do, but a wolf is a wolf because it fights for alpha. She was the wolf here, at least by her own perception.
It was a dog eat dog moment made from nothing. The initial bump that started it all didn't even register even more. All she knew was that she was challenged.

He was perfectly prepared to let this whole thing go now. The kid seemed to be fine and out of harms way. It seemed that when he transferred the woman's aggro onto him it really gave her tunnel vision to the world. The only problem was that he didn't have an aggro reset button for conversations. Which is why he was just walking away, he had nothing further to add to the conversation with her, he had already said what he needed to say. Which was basically that she needed to just relax, everyone here was on edge. They were all under stress, but it was no reason to start taking it out on innocent people. Whether they were players or people of the land. She looked like an adult so he assumed she was one, and in that case it meant that she could just act like one.
Only it didn't seem like she was done with their little exchange as she continued to go on about she isn't his babe or anything. And how he had better apologize because she didn't want to hurt him.
Was she following him? Or was she just yelling out at him as he started to walk away? Was she really that upset about being called a babe? He never realized that it was that offensive to call someone babe. It was like dude, or man. Just a generic thing to call someone when you didn't know their name. Maybe she thought that it wasn't respectful to call a Lady something like Babe, but could you call a woman who was yelling and threatening a kid with violence a Lady?
Either way it seemed that she was looking for a way out to keep her pride. And she was willing to start a huge scene on a gamble to keep it. As if his simple term had stripped her of something that was inherently hers. It was an odd thing to imagine. Perhaps his words had cut her in some way? Maybe she had offline issues and used this game as an escape. Maybe she wasn't handling the apocalypse well at all and was desperately looking for something to latch onto and feel in control to counter how helpless they were feeling right now. They could even be a guy. He probably wouldn't like it if someone was calling him babe. Well okay, if it was a cute girl he could totally get behind it. Babe was kind of unisex term of endearment anyways.
Turning around to face the very angry girl person he smiled at her despite all of this. She really wanted an apology that bad then fine. It was probably the dude thing. Or any one of those issues in conjunction with it. So he would apologize to her. If it was that big of a deal to her then he would give her that little token if it would make her feel better. He really wasn't looking to cause problems and this was not a battle that he really cared to fight. It literally made no difference to him.
"Alright. I'm sorry that I offended you in someway by calling you babe. I'll try to remember that you don't like being called that. Alright dude?"
And with that he would start off again. He assumed that the issue would now be resolved and both of them could go about their days. He still wasn't really looking to buy anything, just kind of scoping out prices and figuring out what he wanted to do. He was really curious about trying out his crafting however. He had a few ideas about mana fragments that he wanted to test out. Maybe he would even make a breakthrough in how alchemy works. That would be amazing!

When my leg falls off I know that the pain silences She was humming, as the girl was totting around a weird looking crystal; any alchemist would know what it was by looking at it. The little girl had made it a bit back and was still confused on what to use it for, as she was just bouncing down the market, when she heard people. ''Uu uu! Takumi those are people think we should go see?'' she asked. The fox tail seemed to be thinking, before nodding. ''Yeah I think you should! Definitely a good idea, after all, people are always needing to be talked to right? Maybe one of them will understand your crystal!'' he said, pretty enthusiastically. The girl nodded at what seemed to be thin air, and skipped her way to the commotion. Of course, she really didn't understand what would happen if she did that, as the tiny ten year old squirmed past people to head towards her goal. There! There were people, and as the blonde male was about to walk away, the small red head had ran up towards the area. So the resulting accident was totally out of either control; with a squeak, she hit the guy's leg, but didn't really stop, as she just sorta tumbled, right into the girl he had been talking to. Of course, because of her small stature, the girl bounced again, and fell on her butt, straight in between the two. For a second, her eyes were wide and confused, as she tried to understand what happened. And then she saw something on the ground. The little crystal she had made. Her blue eyes began to tear up, and with a shake, Takumi knew exactly what she was going to do. ''No no, Sel don't cry shh don't cry Sel!'' he tried to soothe her, but the girl closed her eyes tightly. And then she began to bawl, loudly. ''Uu uu! My crystal uu! The one I took ages to make uu! uu uu! It's broken uu uu!'' she sobbed out, placing her hands over her eyes. And then she just struggled up wards and began to stomp her feet in anger, crying harder. ''Uu uu uu uu! My crystal is broken, broken! uu uu uu! Broken broken broken! It's broken all over uu uu!'' she shouted now. The girl was obviously just a child, as she kept throwing her fit. During that time, Takumi was trying to soothe, although to others it looked like, when she swatted him, that she was batting at empty air. ''It's okay Sel, you can make another one, please calm down Sel, shh it's alright, you're fine, okay Sel? You're fine, shh, I know it hurts but calm down, not being calm won't get you anywhere Sel! Okay, so can you just relax for me, please?'' he begged of her, but the red head just shook her head angrily. ''Not calming down uu! Crystal broke uu! Broken uu! Hard work uu, gone gone GONE!'' she shouted at the end, flailing harshly. The little girl just felt angry and couldn't really understand, so all she could do was cry and scream. People were starting to look over at her now, as if curious to see what set off the small child. But Takumi looked at the male and the female adventurers, well aware that he was imaginary and thus they wouldn't see him at all. ''Please help her.. someone..'' he muttered softly. An apology was all Salvaje wanted and she got it. "Thanks... That's all I wanted. I'll admit I get a bit aggravated easily. I'm sorry for th-" as a small child came and busted a knee cap. It didn't break it just hurt a lot, plus her leg's quick reaction like being hit by a doctor. A foot shooting up to her rear, literally kicking her backside and dropping her to the floor. "AH, damn it! F**k, s**t, tu madre ai!" she let out on the ground then getting back up. She was going to get angry but just as her face scrunched up the child started crying. To Salvaje the child appeared to be a blue-eyed, red headed version of her little sister. "Mira nena, calmate... You need to relax. Tranquilo..." She said to the girl. She noticed the ruined crystal on the ground. "Is this what you're crying about? It's no big deal I swear. I can make you one or I can even help you make one." She offered to see if the child would stop.
When she was a kid, the response she would have gotten from her mom was vastly different. Salvaje's mom would have quickly told her about how she'd give her a reason to cry. She wanted to be a better person than her mom, and she honestly liked kids. However being in a bad mood was good. "Come on... Let's have some fun and make something cool. What do ya say?" she said.

Before he could go much further than a few steps a small child bumped into him before slamming into the very rude woman who he was speaking too just moments before. Interrupting her own apology from the looks of it and turning it into another string of Spanish and swearing. He didn't fall down but did stumble forward a few steps, catching himself on one of the stalls before turning to see the scene. He missed the kick, but he did see the crying girl on the ground and the remains of what was once a crystal. And it appeared to be a mana fragment. Just a simple little thing that any Alchemist could whip right up. Which meant she was an Alchemist too? That's what he was gathering from her crying.
Kneeling down next to the child he put a hand on her head and ruffled her hair gently. Smiling brightly at her. When he was older and his brother used to cry they would just laugh and act like nothing was wrong. Then he would stop crying and thinking there was a reason to cry. Perhaps that would work with her as well. The bright side is this seemed to have given him and the rude girl some common ground. Neither of them wanted to see this little girl crying or upset. So there was that.
"Hey, that was quite a tumble. Let me guess. You were pretending to be a bull or a rhino right?" He said chuckling before his eyes moved back to the fragment. "And see, she says she wants to help you fix it. And if she has any trouble then I'll hook you up with one. It looks like a mana fragment, so I can make an extra one next time I do some crafting. Would you like that? So you see. There is no reason to cry."
He said brightly with a thumbs up, trying to back up the rude girl. Certainly nothing to cry about, just a little tumble. And it would be okay, the crystal that was destroyed if he was right wasn't anything that couldn't be replaced. Everything was going to be alright. And hopefully the girl would stop crying. He hated to see a child cry. And it would be kind of fun to try it out. They were supposed to be pretty simple to create after all. Level one recipe with no ingredients other than the Alchemist's own energy. It was actually kind of cool to have the only crafting class that could do that.
"So what's your name cutie?" He asked the little girl, still hoping to keep her mind off of the crystal that was now broken and the little tumble.

When my leg falls off I know that the pain silences And of course, Selavain had no idea what was going on. When she was yelled at in a language she didn't even know, the girl began to cry louder, and was shivering at the intensity of her sobs. She didn't like this! She had gotten her butt kicked, and even if it was an accident, the girl was hurting. She had no option but to cry louder, since nobody she knew was around; she had to stop sneaking away like she often did, and Takumi always did scold her because of that. But she didn't think that things like this would happen, as she had no idea where to direct her anger and frustration and her pain. So all she could do with these conflicting emotions was cry. After all, Selavain was behind in developing herself emotionally and socially, so she wasn't that much better then a smaller child. ''Uu uu gone! uu uu!'' she cried, starting to shake almost violently at this point. And then a hand landed on her head. The girl wanted to swipe at it, but it felt nice and warm, and big, and she let out a few more sobs, wiping at her eyes. ''Uu uu.. crying too much uu.. troublesome uu..'' she muttered to herself, and for a moment, a pained expression flew across Takumi's face. Because he knew exactly what the child was going to do, and he didn't like it. But it's not like he could protest against it, right? He was imaginary.. and nobody could see him, no matter how hard he tried. With a large breath, that seemed to fill up her entire small body, the girl then calmed down. ''Uu.. uu.. sorry.. didn't mean to..'' she said, very soft, but still audible to the two, even as the people looked at them and whispered, but were slowly moving on. The blue eyed girl just bit her lower lip, feeling ashamed for crying so much. So she would want to make it up to these guys, right? And that would mean.. well how could she make it up to them? The girl felt her face frown in confusion for a moment, and then looked up at Takumi. ''Takumi, what should I do?'' she asked him, unaware that it was audible to those around her. The fox-tail floated upside down for a moment, and then shook his head. ''Try to apologize to them, for one, and then be really happy and cheerful! They said they wanted to help you, and you can just run around with them for a bit, and make friends? That'd be nice right! It looked like they were arguing before you showed up.. so maybe try to make them friends too!'' the male suggested, letting a bright smile fill up his face. He figured this would be the best option for the red head, as she nodded vigorously. ''Takumi! Good idea uu!'' she said happily, letting out a giant smile, as she nodded once more. The girl took in another deep breath, and then lifted her hands up. ''Ooooooooi!'' she let out happily, waving her hands. The girl then gave them a bright smile, as she tried to shake off her sadness. Because being sad would make her a burden, and that was the last thing she wanted. ''Uu uu Sorry about all that happened uu! I can make another one I think, just must remember! But big brother and big sister will want to help right? So that me have friends to do it with! Make it very very better uu uu, because friends make everything better!'' she said, nodding up and down happily, shoving away all of the negative emotions into a darker part of herself. She wouldn't let it bother her anymore, because she would have fun with these two! ''Hey Sel, they asked your name! You should remember to introduce yourself, or it's rude.'' the fox-tail then said urgently to the small half-alv. The girl let out a squeak, and flailed. ''Takumi is right uu! I forgot! I'm G-'' just as she started on her real name, Takumi put his hands over her mouth. ''No no, not your REAL name, your game name!'' he scolded her, as the girl just nodded again. ''Uu, uu, my name is Selavain!'' she then answered, and Takumi nodded approvingly. The little girl let out happy noises then, pawing at his head and petting the male, not really knowing how weird it looked to other people, letting out soft giggles. ''Uu uu, want to be friends with both!'' she said happily. She would make them friends darn it! Spread some happy juice around, like Takumi suggested! The little one seemed to be calming herself down as the sniffles started to slow down. Perhaps the combined efforts of him and the rude girl had done it. That was good news! It was a small thing but he felt a little accomplished, if a bit homesick. He didn't get to deal with children a lot back in his old life. His little brother was only a little younger than him, and his sister was older. He had a few younger cousins though. So he wasn't completely useless with children. However he had no idea who she was talking to. He gave the kid a quirk of an eyebrow, but he didn't dwell on it too much. She was probably just talking to herself. Perhaps a dead family member or something as a way to think about what they would say. His suspicions somewhat confirmed when she announced that the other 'person' had a good idea. Probably just something to grow out of while she coped to the stress of the Apocalypse. It was reasonable enough.
He felt like he got punched in the heart though when the girl called him big brother. That was hitting a little too close to home too soon. His face probably reflected that as well. He hadn't been here long, but he did miss his family and he couldn't help but wonder if he was ever going to see them again. He didn't really see how, they were in another world for all intents and purposes and he wasn't exactly skilled or overflowing with knowledge when it came to dimension hopping. This was all pretty new to him. It seemed that the rude girl was done dealing with him and the kid though as she walked away. Endrin frowned at her back with the smallest shake of his head before letting out a small sigh and forcing out a smile as he looked back at the little girl.
"Looks like it's just me now. But you can make another one? That's pretty good. You must be super talented!"
He said enthusiastically as he stood up, offering the child his hand to help her up now that the crying seemed to be over. He had no idea what he was going to do with a kid though. Was this place even kid friendly at all? There were monsters outside, and a ton of people inside. But did she have family or anything or was she all alone? She seemed alone just because no one else came to her aid when she fell and broke her crystal. But perhaps she just got separated?
"Well hello there Selavain. I'm Endrin, it's nice to meet you." He said with a bright smile and a wink. "Do you have anyone with you here? Your Mom or Dad? Perhaps a sibling? Takumi maybe? Because I'm sure they must be worried sick about you if you got separated. And I don't mind helping you find them if you want."
He really didn't know what else to do. He felt bad about just sending the kid off on their own, and she wasn't related to him. So the only logical thing that he could think of was trying to help her find a family member or something. Surely she wasn't alone in this world.
