Moonlight filtered in through the leaves of the dense forest as Akira walked along a small beaten path. The forest was completely dark aside from the soft moonlight. She could barely see where she was walking but she knew that'd she would be okay. It wasn't like anything could happen to her since she was in a game. The worst that could happen would be she encounters a random beast or monster and it kill her due to her only being a level one in all of her classes. If she died all that would happen is she would probably lose all of her gold and respawn in the cathedral...right?
However even though Akira knew that nothing really bad could happen she just couldn't shake away this fear of being all alone in the woods at night. Every little crackle that happened as she walked and every little sound that she heard in the forest almost made her jump every time Akira heard it. Akira felt shivers run down her spine and the goosebumps started up when a cold breeze blew on her. It made the leaves on the ground and in the trees rustle creating new sounds for her to be afraid of and the wind also made her long blonde hair flow in it slightly.
Akira started hugging herself as she kept walking down the beaten path. The path seemed to go on forever with no twists and turns at all. She had been walking down the path for a long time at that point and the forest seemed to get denser and denser as she walked. Soon she feared that there wouldn't be any moonlight at all and she'd be completely alone in the dark without a single ray of light at all. Akira frowned at the thought and blinked her bright green eyes very quickly a few times. Nonetheless she kept walking on down the path. After about fifteen minutes later when the moonlight was all but gone due to immense amount of shrubbery Akira came upon a place where the path she had been walking on turned onto two paths. She could keep going straight or go to the path that curved to the right. Akira stopped right in the middle where the two paths intertwined.
She thought about it for a second. If she went down the straight path, the one she’d been walking on, she’d probably actually end up all alone in a deep dark forest and more than likely lost and extremely stuck there lest she get even more lost. If she chose the right path it may lead her to a different place altogether.. maybe it would lead her to a magical majestic place full of rainbows and ponies and unicorns and pikachus! Hahahaha no. As if that would happen. It would be pretty cool. However, Akira never had a chance to decide which path she would end up taking because it was at that moment she heard an extremely loud howl or roar or whatever in the hell it was. Either way it terrified Akira. She ended up running away not paying attention to where she was going at all. Akira ran through the woods screaming and she was extremely fast.
“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!”
Akira continued running away from the noise she had heard screaming bloody murder. She was screaming so loud she wasn’t even aware of the fact that she was nowhere near where had been when she heard the loud noise nor could she even hear it. Eventually Akira ran headfirst into a tree and got knocked backwards onto her ass and she swore she could see stars floating around her pretty little blonde head. Akira swayed back and forth for a few minutes. “ Oh man what in the hell was that..?” she muttered to herself softly. Akira slowly looked around still feeling extremely dizzy. She was most definitely and completely lost. She had no idea where she was at all. Akira got up using the tree to support her as she got up. Another quick survey showed that there seemed to be some enough moonlight for her to see somewhat. Akira shook her head quickly and blinked her green eyes a few times to get the dizzyness all the way gone. Akira started walking into a random direction that she didn’t even care what direction it was. Oddly enough she wasn’t scared or anything anymore. It was either because the place she was in was much quieter, not even her steps made a sound, and also because maybe just maybe her screaming and running had caused all of her fear to erase. Though all in all the second option was pretty much nonexistent nor possible Akira decided that she probably wasn’t scared due to the quietness. The quiet in this part of the woods seemed incredibly serene compared to the part of the woods she had been in earlier.
As Akira kept walking the random direction she had chosen with no path to follow whatsoever she smiled and stretched her arms a bit. If she was lucky she would come across some sort of stream or something seeing as she was starting to get thirsty after the screaming bloody murder. After about walking for fifteen minutes Akira started to see more and more moonlight. Thinking she had maybe found her way out of the woods she quickened her pace and soon arrived in a beautiful clearing that had the moon shining down majestically on a small lake that seemed to literally sparkle every time she moved. Slowly but surely Akira walked towards the sparkly lake and then knelt down at its banks. She used her hands to cup some water and drink it. She repeated the process several times before scooting back off the bank a little bit and laying back on the soft grass that was in the clearing. The place was so beautiful and serene that Akira could begin to feel her eyes droop drowsily. She was starting to get tired. It made sense for her to be tired, it was the middle of the night after all and she had ran and screamed bloody murder. Thinking back on that Akira quickly shot up and stood. It was at that moment that she remembered what she come to the woods in the middle of the night to do in the first place. She had wanted to do a ritual that she hadn’t been doing much since she had come into the game. Ordinarily she would do it in the real world at least once a week but Akira had been so flustered with being stuck in the game and trying to make friends that she completely forgot about it.
“ I’m so sorry Lyssa your craziness…” she said with her voice trailing off softly. Akira materialized one of her katanas and took off her glove before moving so that her hand was right over the little lake in the clearing. Akira took her katana in her hand that still had a glove and used it to make a cut on her ungloved hand to let blood drip into the water. As soon as Akira’s blood started dripping she quickly swore,” I hereby offer my blood to Lyssa the goddess of insanity and rabies to do as she would do and pledge all of my deeds in her name.” With that Akira let out a highpitched yell and started jumping around and circles with her katana still in hand.
