Hiro walked along, a spring in his step. He didn't know exactly why he was so happy at this moment in time, but it might have been the fact that it was rather sunny and beautiful out at the time. Hiro always enjoyed the sun, and peaceful places were his home away from home. Being the adopted son of a rich English family, he had more than enough money to go where he wanted, when he wanted. Although, he genuinely enjoyed working for things, and earning them himself. This was opposite of the Blackbourne family belief, where status and etiquette are regarded highly. He never was one to cope with these standards, being of an entirely different race from the rest of his family. He never heard the end of it in school, but this never got him down.
Days like this were his favorites, for sure. He loved being in the open world, gazing upon fields of tall grass, and long, dirt paths. He hadn't been walking all that long, but his quest marker was just along the way ahead of him. He wasn't sure how this whole game was going to be working, but he felt that he might have a partner along with him for this quest. Taking on a total of 6 Dull Green Slimes might not seem like much, but he felt like he shouldn't take a chance with this. He had no idea how tough they were going to be, or if they were going to be some sort of a joke to him, being a fighting class and all. Although the Monk is classified as a Tank, he still wanted to have a good amount of damage. He liked being very evasive, and dodge a lot of attacks. He didn't mind having next-to-no Mana, as this wasn't his style. He loved being right up into the conflict, taking hits and dealing them right back. He was reminded of League for a moment at that thought. He chuckled, shrugged, and continued on.
He finally saw a large relic of a castle over the brim of a hill, and his eyes widened and began glistening. He gazed at the old, greenery-covered building with awe, and began walking towards it once again. His step was filled with vigor, while his smirk returned to his face. He observed the number of enemies around, and that filled him with a bit of adrenaline, giving him the thought that he would be able to move around at his own pace, which was rather faster than most other people. He cracked his knuckles, but stopped himself before going too much farther down the incline. He remembered that he needed to wait for his partner to show up, if he even had one. He figured that he's just wait a little while before continuing on the way down there. He walked back up to the hill, and stood where the road continued on, looking around himself, and frequently looking back at the enemies nearby. He couldn't wait to get started, his leg tapping a bit in excitement. This would be his first confrontation in this new world, and he wished that his partner were already here. But, he kept himself calm enough to withstand waiting so much as another half an hour. THis should be plenty of time, he figured, as he started to whistle a tune while he waited.

A gentle melody reverberated throughout a stone courtyard, the overgrowth of centuries past enveloping most everything within the once radiant castle. Atop the second tier of a great fountain sat a lone maiden, her voice the source of the overhead melody. It was a beautiful day for a bard such as her. The glistening sun in the sky, the verdant green of nature intertwining with the craft of man, it made the perfect stage for a lone tune.
The melody persisted on for a time, as the minstrel atop the abandoned fountain took solace in her solitude. Alas, that it could not last but an eternity. A discord echoed, worming it's way into Blue's solitary melody until the notes faded from her mind. A look of disappointment fluttered across her face before returning to a neutral expression. It seemed that the curtain was to be drawn on her private peacetime. What a pity.
With a click of her heel, Blue stood up from her sitting position and looked to the entrance of the great courtyard. Her appointed partner was likely to arrive via that location. Any other location to show movement was a monster who would be free of the effects of her earlier precautions. Indeed, a dancers skills were useful in creating a peaceful place outside of town.
Emerald hues soon fell upon a lone traveler walking through the gate to the overgrown courtyard. If memory served, his IGN matched that of the quest host she was partied with. This man was also likely the source of the earlier discord. Oh well Blue mused to herself. Better the man she was waiting for than some stranger.

A few moments later, Hiro looked back at the ancient stone construction, and found a woman sitting on top of an old, dried up fountain. He saw that she had been looking at him already, and felt a little awkward, having not noticed her before just then. He gave a small sigh as he began to walk towards her. His excitement for battle had gone down a fair bit, realizing that he probably kept this woman waiting for a little longer than she wanted to be. He felt a little bad about it, but he moved on ahead. He closed the distance between himself and the female, keeping an eye on the surrounding area, just to make sure they weren't going to be jumped in the middle of their conversation, whenever they had begun to talk. He got close enough to talk without raising his voice too much in order to maintain a conversation. He didn't know what to expect from this woman, so he just went ahead and started talking to her.
"Uhh, pardon me, miss. I'm Hirosame, here doing the quest in which we need to slay six Dull Green Slimes. I'm assuming that you're my partner for said quest, so can I ask you for your name?" He didn't need to ask for her class, as one of the great things about Elder Tale was the fact t hat classes were displayed next to the name and level. Obviously, he could see the female's name, but it's only common courtesy to ask for it after having given your own. It'd be rude of him to call her by her name without addressing her beforehand. If there's anything he learned from being a Blackbourne, it's etiquette and respect. He never usually displayed it, unless he was meeting someone for the first time. Perhaps that got on his parents' nerves quite often, and his sister as well. While looking up at this woman, he could help but think a little about his sister for a moment, wondering if she was doing alright. He then wondered what was going on in the world outside, and if she were effected by his current state of being. He shrugged it off, trying not to get upset.
He started to look out of the side of his eye, trying to see if there were any enemies coming towards them immediately. He felt that there weren't any for the most part, and continued looking up towards the girl. She looked small, yet sturdy enough to be able to handle herself in a fight. Perhaps with a Monk and a Bard in the same mission, this quest will go twice as fast. Well, perhaps not twice as fast, but it should still go by quickly. This woman was still level one, as well as he was, so it should still be a bit of a learning experience for them both. He couldn't wait to start, but he needed to finish the pleasantries of meeting a person for the first time, first. He stretched his back a little, letting it crack a few times, before placing his hands on his sides, waiting for a response from the woman. He wondered how she would sound, or if she were even really a girl. One can't tell a person's true gender in this world, so everything had to be taken as it is told.

| Etiquette was something that varied from person to person, profession to profession. Even the lower classes of the economy had their own guidelines, code of conduct, unspoken rules by which they lived by. Even Blue, who lived in the world of musicians, artists, and entrepreneurs, lived by a certain etiquette. Still, it was always surprising to meet someone who practiced the oxford definition of the word. This young man named Hirosame carried himself well for the average MMO player. She knew he could see her name clearly, but he still asked out of respect. Not a bad start to their relationship.
"My name is Blue, the bard. Thank you for asking."
Blue gave a polite bow in return for his respect, closely examining him for any outstanding features. He was a level one with no prior experience to be seen. This meant two things really, that he was either a new player who bought Novasphere Pioneers along with the game itself, or that he was like her and had made a new character to experience the expansion at its fullest. Both were likely given the nature of the expansion.
"I'm a veteran player of Elder Tale, and I have a reputation as a popular bard. If you have any questions regarding Elder Tale, I'll try my best to assist you."
The pinkette had no worries for this quest, despite her partner possibly being a new player and her low-level state. Even if the Novasphere expansion had changed most of the game, she wouldn't be able to hold her head up high if they were defeated by beginner monsters such as these. Indeed, now was the time to prove it. The rustling she had predicted was coming in full force, and soon the oozing slimes were coming out of their hiding holes.
"It would seem our quarry has arrived."

Hiro was taken aback slightly at the woman's bow, and returned one of his own as well. He was a little shocked that this woman knew proper etiquette as well. He assumed that she might be royalty, or of a rich family, much like he was. He found that to be a little comforting, as well as a bit intimidating. He wasn't the perfect picture of etiquette to any extent, only knowing a little. He never really had it pushed on him, unlike his sister. His schedule was pretty much whatever he wanted it to be, within reason, of course. He didn't like being restricted to only a set of things at for hours. He liked having the chance to choose his own days, and go about them as he pleased. Pressure plus Hiro was a big no-no.
His partner was certainly more experienced than he was, after revealing that she could help him with whatever he wanted help with. He chuckled a bit nervously, and started to scratch the back of his head a bit. He went back to a more relaxed state, nodding to her as she finished her statement. He looked up at her for another moment, realizing swiftly that this might not be the first character she's had on this game. Perhaps this person would be able to tell him a bit more about the game, but probably not right now. After having just met the woman, he probably shouldn't ask too much from her. He thought that he'd wait a little longer before asking her for such things, as one wouldn't ask a newly met person for a hundred dollars.
He didn't have much time before the enemies started to appear around them, and it looked like all six were just appearing around them. Hiro looked back up to the woman, nodded, and faced to his right, getting into a fighting stance. He smirked, as he wanted to learn about how this game's fighting mechanic would work. He watched as the little blobs started to spring their way over towards him, and he could help but feel a little sympathetic for them, knowing that he'd just be destroying them in a few simple hits. He ran over towards the nearest one, and swung his arm back, before punching it in its torso. He laughed as his hand collided with the beast, but soon realized.
He didn't do all that much damage to it.
The sudden realization that he wasn't as strong as he thought he was washed over him, as the three monsters all pooled on top of him, dealing a fair amount of damage. Within seconds, about 15% of his health was gone already. He recoiled backwards, and hesitated for a moment. His expression changed to a more serious one, as the monsters got closer and closer. He brought his body lower, and raised his right fist up high, letting his body prepared for a moment. The blobs got closer and closer, while he waited patiently. Just as they got close enough, his eyes widened. He had hoped that the rumors were true about the method of fighting now in this game. He stretched his arm further up, and started crashing it down, shouting,
"Tiger Echo Fist!"
His arm collided with the ground, and a small shockwave was sent in the area around him, knocking the enemies up into the air. Hiro took the opportunity to grab one of the slimes in the air, and throw it towards the ground, dealing enough health to make it vanish. It was at this moment that he realized just how powerful his skills, in combination with his fighting abilities. He looked at the two remaining enemies nearby him, and smirked. He charged over at them, and heard a small ding nearby him. He looked around for a moment, and saw the symbol of his Tiger Echo Fist, with a golden ring around it, and it was flashing. This must mean that the skill is off cooldown, as is boasted by the Monk Class. He laughed aloud, and charged at the enemy filled even more-so with vigor.
He crashed his fist into the nearest slime, and followed up with his other arm in rapid succession. He slammed it back onto the ground, and returned to his Tiger Echo Fist stance. He shouted the skill's name again, and blasted the ground with yet another shockwave. The blast shot the slime into the air, and Hiro quickly chained by jumping into the air and kicking the opponent with his right leg, causing it to disappear upon contact. He had a small celebration before turning around, and realizing that the last slime had already propelled itself towards him. Hiro made good use of his speed, and dodged to the side quickly. The enemy landed not too far away from him, so he got into his stance again, and began shouting the name of the attack, before being stopped.
He heard a buzz, and looked around hesitantly, only to notice that his MP had gone down significantly. He very quickly realized that he didn't have enough MP to use the skill again. He turned to look as the enemy got closer again, and Hiro retaliated quickly with a punch. He chained together a quick combo, and very soon after dispatched the enemy. He stood back up, and saw that his ally had already finished her enemies as well. He smiled to her, and said, "Well, I'm sorry we can't spend much more time together, but perhaps another time, you can show me more about this world, huh?" He opened his menu by "pressing" the area in front of him, clicked on her, and hit the Friend Request button. He hoped that she would accept it soon, as he turned around and started heading back towards the road, to head back towards town once again.

The peace that once permeated this beautiful court was now all but gone, snuffed out by the overture of battle which now poisoned the air with its beautiful tones. Blue could see it in the air, streaming off the slimes which threatened to end them and the boy whom she called her ally. It was intoxicating, the feeling of life around them that only battle could give off. The experienced bard gracefully drew her rapier, holding it towards the slimes marked as her targets. Three slimes, destined for obliteration.
"Now, let's begin the first act..."
If one were to peer into the mind of Blue as she begun her attack, it would be as if watching from the audience of a concert hall, spectating a classical work of art. Her moves were graceful by default, working with her natural talent and the experience granted from her choice of class. The prima donna, Blue herself, gripped her blade tightly, twirling around her enemies and cutting them bit by bit.
"Elegant Act..."
That was the name of the technique which Blue now demonstrated. Her evasion rate was being increased slowly but surely as she twirled around her marked enemies. The rapier blurred in the air, never stopping as she swept it in a continuous fluid arc. The slimes, weakened as they took continuous damage, could not bare to take any more as they oozed out of Blue's attack range.
"I was a famous front-line bard before the catastrophe... You slimes are but dust against my blade..."
A smile as gentle as any smile could be crept across her face. It was the epitome of ferocity masked behind calm composure and mercy. Elegant Act, a move used by all front-line bards in order to increase their sustainability. Blue had become accustomed to it long before she was spirited away to the novasphere.
"... and now the climax begins."
The slimes were weakened, in the red to orange range of their health bar. Blue's rapier gleamed in the light of the sun, and with only a moments breath, she plunged back into the breach, bringing merciful death on her blade. Light foot steps, a keen mind, and an adequate blade were enough to end the remaining creatures. Blue watched with a pitied look as her blade cut through the dull slimes, witnessing them fade to nothing.
With the play now coming to a close, Blue sheathed her blade quietly, taking a seat next to the fountain to watch her partner finish off the remainder of his share. He was amusing to watch, his canvas stained with the colors of battle. He would do well in this world, most assuredly. Blue thought to herself that he might just be interesting to observe in the future.
"Yes, it would be very nice if we met again. Thank you for your assistance, Hiro."
She watched his back as she left, a hand drifting towards the friend invite which sat at the corner of her vision. She didn't make a point to friend people she had just met, indeed some people she flat out tried to avoid. Hiro however seemed like someone worth paying attention to. A gently finger pressed the accept button, and Hiro's name was added to her short list of friends.
