Cleric - Pharmacist - Apothecary ____________________________________________________
"...so that's what I'd require from you. " Said the old blacksmith as he exhaled a thick cloud of white smoke. "You willing to do it?" The old man, Zuth Onyxheart, was a blacksmith here in Londonium. A place that seemed to be set in the world of Elder Tale. While she hadn't had any native of the land explain it out right to her, Sarah figured with all the similarities that it had to be Elder Tale. That's what her gut, and the guts of many others, told her.
With a nod to the blacksmith she repeated the request. "...and then bring the hides back to you for the reward." Her accuracy elicited a grunt of acknowledgement from Old Zuth and she turned and faced the only other person in the shop, a young woman with hair the shade of pink cotton candy. She stood about half a foot shorter than Sarah did and was clad in the same sort of arms and armor as she was, save only for the girl's spear. Sarah noted she might be a Guardian but looked as lost as everyone else she'd seen today.
The Cleric had stumbled across a builtin board in the inn and saw a mission on it that would help give her some money, while helping her figure more out about this place. She wasn't sure what the pink haired girl was in there for but she figured she must be waiting for Sarah to finish talking to the blacksmith.
"He's all yours." She said simply and stepped past the girl and toward the door.

Guardian - Cavalier - Blacksmith ____________________________________________________
Full suits of armor ranging from cheap low quality iron to those reinforced with platinum or silver lined the edges of the wall. As Saskia gazed at the precious metals that decorated the finely crafted armor and swords, she contemplated what a waste it could be when all of those rare metals could be used for jewelry, perhaps to fashion a beautiful ring or bracelet. She didn’t really have a reason for being there and Zuth was beginning to grow curious of what she wanted…perhaps she was just another loathsome window shopper. But as he got a closer look, he realized that it was a familiar face. One whom had earned a fair reputation with the hearty Dwarf.
“Aye, well if it isn’t Saskia!” His glassy eye scrutinized her, gazing over her poor excuse for platemail. “Welcome to the Stout Iron! I see you admiring my fine dwarven steel! Perhaps you’re looking for some finely crafted armor. We have the finest metals in all of londiminium and don’t let that crooked Reyla steer you wrong, after all, what does a Fox Tail know about smithing, eh? Blacksmithing has been apart of Dwarven History for ages! So what can I do you for?”
The jubilant smith seemed quite confident in his wares, however, Saskia was already stocked on enough armaments to get her through most of the early levels in the game. She pondered for a moment. “Well, I’m definitely in the market for a shield. I could use one for combat, and not just the quality for starters, perhaps a notch up. I’m pretty knowledgeable about shields with my skill set. So about how much would something like that cost me, Sir Onxyheart?“
“Well, usually they will cost quite a bit of coin, but for you lass… I suppose I can do a meager discount. “
Zuth wrote a number on a sheet of paper and slid it across the table. “How’s that sound, lass?”
Saskia inspected the note, but frowned once she realized it was still slightly out of her budget range.
Zuth saw another woman enter, clad in heavy armor and he excused himself to go talk to the fiery red headed woman.
“I see you need some time to think it over. I’ll be right back, lass.”
As the two conversed, Saskia hung in the background. She had no intentions of eavesdropping, but couldn’t help but become aware that the woman was doing a task for the Dwarven businessman. It was something to the tune of bringing Zuth some hides and being rewarded for the task.
After they finished their talk, Zuth watched the girl head towards the door.
“Oi, Saskia, why don’t you go along with the lady, those boar can be a handful for a cleric on her own. Come back and see me after and maybe we can negotiate something about your shield.”
Saskia raised a brow, then looked over to catch a glimpse of the woman’s face. Suddenly, Saskia blinked as she felt a sudden jolt of déjà vu. The woman’s facial features and prescence. The way she carried herself. Saskia couldn’t quite place it, but she felt as if they had met before…or perhaps, maybe she was mistaken.
Saskia opened her mouth to speak in a flowery, yet somewhat stern voice.
“I’ll go with you. My name is Hope. I’m a Guardian, by the way. It’ll be faster if we both work together anyway. Do you have a mount?” She inquired, trying to gauge what assets the Cleric had available to her.

Sarah stopped with her hand on the doorknob and turned so she could face the blacksmith and young woman. Old Zuth apparently felt she would need help dealing with low leveled creatures since she was a Cleric. While Sarah's initial reaction was to snap back at the man for his assumption of her capability, she paused and thought about it. She was a cleric in heavy armor, while she knew how to use a Guardian, a Cleric was one she didn't use much and knew from experience of their combat prowess. And even if she could heal herself, there was a chance of being ganged up on. Despite her kneejerk reaction to say no and that she could handle it, in a potentially new place where she didn't know the risks, venturing out alone without any knowledge of what lies ahead would be dangerous and foolish. And hotheaded as Sarah might be, foolish is something she wasn't.
"Alright then, Hope. I'd appreciate the help." Sarah said with a nod, her accent obviously English. "Nah, no mount for this girl. I'm hoofin' in old school. I'll be outside, come join me when you're done." Sarah nodded once more to Zuth and turned to step out into the world. She waited for the pink haired Guardian to join her.
"What skills do you have?" She asked once Hope he closed the shop door. "I used to roll a Guardian so I'm pretty familiar with them. I'm set up to be an off-tank and secondary healer." With a shift in her stance, Sarah shrugged her shield from her back and into her left hand. "I may not be a Guardian, but at least my body moves like it should. Mostly." Sarah had noticed a slight problem with her movements, she figured it was the gear but after overhearing another couple people talking it seemed that it had more to do with the height of the character, compared to her original height. While annoying, it would be something she would be able to overcome simply enough.

Guardian - Cavalier - Blacksmith ____________________________________________________
Saskia waited to gauge the woman’s response as the cleric tensed her hands around the doorknob. Given Saskia’s knowledge of prior adventurers she encountered, her conditioned response was to expect strange personalities. From the isolated loner to the prideful egotistical gamer who became a nuisance. The last cleric that Saskia met was a behemoth of a man, clad in platemail, just as this woman was, however, he was difficult to get much conversation out of; an odd trait for someone you should be able to build trust with and rely upon. As a guardian, Saskia became more aware that she was heavily reliant on healers and together the combination would have a divine synergy to uphold a nigh impenetrable fortress.
However, for Saskia, the fortitude of her friendship with others are what laid the bricks that form the fortitude of her nerves and keeping her mentality prepared for the battle. The long drawn out pause made Saskia wary, however that sensation washed away and became neutralized when the woman accepted Saskia’s offer for help.
Saskia recognized her accent as an Englishwoman. She seemed to be a bit of a rough farmer style of woman. Perhaps from a lower class form of society, hardly refined in any matter as she invited the flowery haired wolf hair to join her.
Saskia’s armor rattled lightly as she took a few steps outside of Zuth’s shop and waved him goodbye. She immediately met with a rather direct inquiry of her skills from the cleric who appeared to be sizing her up. However, it all became clear when she announced that she had some experience as a guardian, but for whatever reason decided to roll a cleric.
Hope had opened the palm of her hand and projected the image of a radiant hologram which allowed her to interact with her menu interface as she began reading off her rather luxurious list of skills that she carried at level one. One of the perks of being a rich celebrity is that she had enough pounds to burn on special editions and contents. She wondered if having this advantage so early on who make her influence as a gamer rise into prestigious glory. She also wondered if the woman before her even recognized her as the celebrity “Cherry Blossom” who was quite well known in England’s music industry.
“Sorry, I didn’t catch your name, love.” Saskia stated as she recognized the woman had a lack for manners and failed to introduce herself. “But my skills are Anchor Howl, Shield Smash, Counter Break, Cool Defense, Wall of Shards, Shield Mastery…I have a few mounts that aid in combat as well. Some are tanky, others are more offensive. I also am a cavalier which means I can fight while mounted if needed, and apparently, I can use a two handed spear as a one handed weapon and still have a shield equipped. Though, I am lacking a two handed spear at the moment. I might eventually make one, seeing as I am a blacksmith as well.”
After saying her spiel about the assets she could bring to the team, she decided to gather intel by inquiring the woman about her abilities. “So what about you? I met a cleric before, he had things like a revive, cure, and holy mi…hm, what’s the matter with you?” Saskia stated as she noticed that Pen was moving a bit awkwardly. She had seen this before, with a few other adventurers.
“Hm, well I supposed we could use a bit more offense now, couldn’t we?” She muttered with uncertainty as he held out a wooden whistle with a wolf symbol on it. I’ll call someone who can help us. As she blew her whistle, a wolf’s howl could be heard as it darted from the alleys and towards Saskia’s side. The grey wolf seemed to be annoyed as it then began to find things of it’s own interest.
“Hm…the wolf’s a bit odd, but it’s level 3 and it helps out in battle.” Saskia nodded as she walked up to the wolf. “I’m going to need your help again, mkay? Might be able to find you some nice boar meat as well. How’s that sound?”
The wolf howl seemed like a positive acknowledgement as it leaned down for Saskia, who then hopped on it’s back and kept her spear and shield at the ready.
“We’ll keep a light pace in front of you. I’m pretty sure there’s a decent boar field just outside of town. If we follow the main road east, we should be there in a few minutes.” Saskia stated as she began to trot away on wolfback, taking the lead.

Cleric - Pharmacist - Apothecary ____________________________________________________
Sarah blinked for a moment at Hope's inquiry. "Oh, right. Name. Sorry." She fumbled with her words momentarily as she weighed the option of revealing her real name. It lasted about a quarter of a second as she slid her shield back onto her back and offered the Guardian her hand. "Call me Pen." She said, the earlier edge in her tone softened. She remained silent as Hope made a gesture in the air and then began reading off her skills. Sarah followed the movement of Hope's eyes, a mixture of fascination and familiarity crept into her mind. It was only a moment but Sarah thought she knew Hope from somewhere. Despite the eerie feeling, Pen ignored it as the Guardian inquired about her skills and, no doubt noticing Sarah's slight mobility issues, well being.
The Cleric made a single wave gesture with her hand as if dismissing the physical words. "I'm fine. Seems as though if you were the same height as your character then you're gonna have some motor skills problems. I'll be fine once I get used to this...body. Man, that's weird to say." Sarah chuckled awkwardly and made a gesture in the air that summoned a large Cleric emblem, which she found out earlier was her menu, and navigated through it until she arrived at her skills. "Let's see...well I've got Miracle Mine for some extra damage and tactful retreats. I have Cure for status effects and then I have Reactive Heal." Sarah closed her menu and hooked her thumbs into the belt of her pants. "In all honesty I spaced on "Cure" in this game not being for healing. Despite having read all the descriptions I still defaulted to Cure being a healing spell." She shrugged and nodded following Hope's comment about more offense. "Though, I'd rather not make a party too big for this easy of a mission." Sarah then watched as Hope retrieved a wooden whistle, not a moment after she blew into it did a large wolf appear. Sarah stared at the beast in awe, and old love of her's were the quadrupedal creatures of the Canis genus. Wolves were magnificent, they had speed and power, and moved with their pack efficiently and effectively. They were amazing creatures.
And here was a hulking mass of wolf right before her! Sarah watched in silence as Hope bantered with the beautiful creature. Whatever she had said to the wolf was lost on Sarah, but she soon snapped back to the task at hand when Hope mentioned the boar field. "Right!" She said a bit louder than intended and felt a mental hand slap herself. "Let's get this show on the road."
Sarah took once last glance at her hands, a strange feeling of nervousness, settled in. "Relax." She said quietly to herself and followed behind the mounted Guardian.
A few minutes later and Hope and Pen were now in a party. Apparently Hope's character name was Saskia, she wondered the origin of the name. It was a normal reaction for her when she saw people's character names. "Hey, Hope. Before we get into combat, I'm gonna cast [Reactive Heal] on you. What is your plan for the combat? What are you gonna open with?" Sarah was no strategist, but when it came to small skirmishes she wasn't bad at plans. She wasn't so sure of how much experience Hope had as a Guardian and if this world was like some anime out there, death here meant game over. These thoughts only seemed to add to Sarah's nervousness. She wasn't used to being support, she was a front lines fighter god damn it! Calm down. Don't freak out, these are going to be easy creatures to kill. Like Slimes from other games. With a few breaths, she calmed herself down enough to think clearly and levelly.

Guardian - Cavalier - Blacksmith ____________________________________________________
It didn’t take long for the rose haired cleric to redeem herself for her lack of etiquette. She didn’t seemed too dismayed by Saskia’s inquiry as it was only common to exchange names with someone after they introduce themselves to you. With a curt handshake, she revealed the already apparent, but it would be suitable enough for a first meeting. “Very well, nice to meet you, Pen. So you switched off of guardian, did ye? Well, you made a smart choice there and saved yourself a lifetime of pain. It’s always somewhat annoying when others in the team reap benefits without so much of a scratch and usually you’re getting sliced, crushed, chopped, and stabbed on a daily basis…not exactly the funnest of jobs.” Saskia chuckled. “Sometimes I feel like they don’t pay me enough for this shit..”
Humor is what kept Saskia going, whereas she complained about her duty, she did enjoy the security of having some of the highest durability in the game. Also another part of her recognized the high amount of value placed on a great tank in this game.
“So..in games like this…is it common for dps to come around like a dime a dozen and for healers and tank to usually be the MVPs on the scene? I don’t really play games in the real world, but that’s the vibe I’ve been getting. “ Saskia spoke aloud. “I’m glad I kept my character modified exactly how I look in real life. Minus the bright pink hair, though, I have dyed it that color for music videos and performances when I go on tour.”
Saskia seemed to be more of the socially engaged type and was enjoying being a chatterbox and company that was comfortable allowing her to do so. “Sounds like you got some useful skills either way, and you’re not the only one who spaced out on that ‘Cure’ spell. I play with another Cleric. This guy is huuuuge, and he uses a staff instead of the sword and shield combo you’re working. He uses Cure and Revive…and maybe some other skill…I haven’t seen it yet, but it seems his only useful skill was the resurrection. I’m glad you can at least heal because at these low levels, that is more valuable to me right now. Also, being able to assist in offense with help things move along more smoothly. Could be useful as a retreat if your mana get’s low.”
As Saskia mounted the wolf, she noticed Pen’s sudden fascination and noted that she displayed no fear. “Well, you’re a brave woman. Most people run off thinking the wolf will chew through their ankles or something..” Saskia laughed enthusiastically. After the cleric calmed down, she took the initiative to inform Saskia of her plans, then inquired her about her own.
“Plan…what plan? I thought we were just going to charge in there and slice them up?” Saskia said feigning a confused look at the woman, before executing a snickering tease. “ Oh, I’m just taking the piss, love. Let’s see…So you mentioned something about mines…now…that usually means and explosion…so…does that hit multiple opponents or just one?” Saskia then squinted her eyes as she tried to envision the possibilities. "Maybe we can set up that minefield to begin with, yeah? Then I can share some of these mana potions with you. Then I’ll aggro and possibly lure them to the mines? Or we can just fight them and use the mines in the event of an emergency. Hmm…I should be able to fight multiple enemies while mounted…so…what if we use the aggro and speed to our advantage? What if I aggro them, then ride just ahead of them and into the mines and maybe once my cooldown resets, then you blow them up, I aggro again and if there is anything left, then we rinse and repeat?”
Saskia didn’t understand most of the skills, but she definitely understood the opportunity for the hit and run.
“Would be funny if they just started chasing us on wolfback and you just start slipping mines out the back and blowing them up at every opportunity.” Saskia snickered. “But I think there’s a debuff since you’re not a cavalier. But it’s certainly a nice trick.”
Saskia grinned mischievously as they continued onwards towards the boar fields. “So what do you think? And shouldn't we party up first? We haven't done that yet.”
