Pigs, pigs, and more pigs at some point here your going to get bored of killing pork, and Yurei had certainly reached that point, she reached it a while ago in fact, after her last encounter with the enemy of the pig headed persuasion she decided it was time for a change. She was going to venture into the swamp this time to see what she could find there. And so after a quick breakfast of tasteless bread and oatmeal though let’s face it oatmeal was pretty tasteless before she came into this world. While we’re on the subject of oatmeal who came up with that crap huh? Anyways she finished her tasteless breakfast and picked up her sword the mighty club of justice and headed for the door it was time for her to get a up a few more levels and maybe find a new weapon while she was at it, she was seriously considering using a stick instead of the sword she started with, at least the stick was kind of pointy, while this sword had no edge at all well maybe not no edge but what it did have couldn’t cut the wings off a butterfly.
She stepped out into the sun light and stretched reading herself to go forward and find out what she could find today. She sighed as she walked towards the marshlands. She marched through the city heading towards her destination wondering what kind of enemies she would find this time. I’d make for a interesting day at least she wouldn’t be fighting pork chop again. She was really getting sick of pigs. I mean after you kill a few hundred of them you’re bound to get bored.
She soon she could smell the marshlands even if she couldn’t see it, and let me tell you it smelled something awful, not your typical type of gross either it smelled like a sewer, she gaged and covered her mouth and nose. Before continued further into the marshlands, as she walked something dribbled down from above her, when he looked up it was a slime she wasn’t sure what to do exactly it looked kind of friendly until it tried to get on her. She grabbed her sword and swung as it jumped down from the branch at her slicing it in half she put her sword back in its scabbard and continued on her way making a mental note as she walked ‘Slimes = Bad and they don’t drop very much either.’ She continued on her way exploring the new areas.
As she walked through the terrible marsh with its horrible smell, she kept her mouth and nose covered as she continued through the shrubs, who came up with that word anyways shrubs. As she stomped through the forest she began to seem more and more monsters a weasel some more slime. Some fungal spore and even some goblins, she struck down the ones that got in her way but most of these monsters where now too low to really offer her any sort of decent experience points. As she advanced through the forest she found some brier weasels that where around level 8 it was perfect. She had no idea how to fight these things but it couldn’t be that different from fighting the boars right? She advanced on a single weasel reaching back over her left shoulder and pulling free her blade as she walked. She took the sword in both hands and readied herself slowly walking towards the weasel who angrily hissed at her. It was hostile alright as it did something she never expected it shot lasers from its butt. Seriously it shot a laser from its butt. She dove to the side to avoid its attack but It continued shooting another shot at her. As she rolled behind a tree, “laser butt weasels are you serious!??!” she said angrily as she looked around her for something she could use to help her out of this situation. She picked up a rock and threw it at him it hit him on the head stunning him for a second giving her enough time to rush in. she smacked it hard with her sword taking a decent chunk of health with her blow but it really wasn’t enough as it shook its head and bounced back a few steps and began its assault again. “STUPID BUTT LASER WEASEL!” she yelped as one of the bolts hit her in the side before she could dodge back behind a tree. “how is this fair?!” she said looking around for a way to get closer to the weasel. She waited for the next shot than dashed forward behind another tree one step closer to the weasel she repeated this action running ducking and hiding until she was close enough to charge she waited for the next bolt than charged. She as she charged she dived forward rolling back to her feet managing to avoid the bolt that flew right over her head as she came back to her feet she was in striking range of the weasel. She brought her sword across from left to right as she cried out “kabutoswari” as she brought her sword down from above her head activating the skill and striking the monster hard in the head destroying it turning it to coins and items. She let out a sigh and slumped to the floor “Maybe I should’ve stuck to boars at least they don’t have laser butts.” She complained as she picked up the coins from the floor and got back to her feet she dusted herself off getting rid of some of the grim and dirt before heading deeper into the marsh wondering what other enemies she was going to find. Hopefully not another laser butt weasel.
This game honestly had some strange monsters now look this seriously who the heck thought that lasers from a weasel butt was a good idea. Honestly some guy sat down looked at these plans and said yes! Yes! This is what elder tales needs monsters that can shoot lasers from its butt, and no one around that guy looked at him or checked if he was drunk? Now new things are great like really wonderful, I love the toaster oven, and the crockpot and computers. But when you come up with a weasel that can shoot lasers from its butt well now we have a problem.
Yurei looked around shaking her head to clear her absent minded thoughts. She looked around only to see more weasels, she walked as far around them as she could preferring not to engage in combat with anything that had futuristic weaponry implanted in it’s behind. She looked around and saw a few slimes they weren’t too tough, your typical low level jokes. She took out her sword and slashed through them killing them as she continued to search for better exp. as she strolled she saw something she’s never seen before, it looked like a man made of dirt at first she just thought that some idiot who had been rolling in the dirt but as she got closer the thing attacked her she struck out with her sword striking it hard enough that most monsters would’ve at least flinched instead the sword went into the monster than out the other side with him taking very little damage and then it continued to advance and then hit her square in the face. She fell over backwards looking up at the sky wondering what exactly happened. She sat back up just in time to see the golem aiming another hit at her head. She rolled to the side before getting back to her feet. She turned to face the golem who was just getting back up to turn to face her. She struck out again the sword and again it hit and went through the golem doing very little damage. “You’ve gotta be kidding me.” She said out loud as the monster raised its fist to strike at her. She attempted to parry the blow but instead it just went through her guard hitting her again. “Oww!” she cried out stumbling back a few steps before reading herself again. Than she remembered something . Her sub class was artisan it and it does bonus damage to rock or something like that she scrolled through her menu than turned it on.
“Well here we go….” She said nervously. As she struck out at the monster, it did more damage actually getting a grunt out of the monster this time. It was down a fourth of its health but this monster had taken more work than just about anything else she’s faced up to this point. This was seriously annoying, she picked up the pace as she began to move getting behind the monster, it may be strong but it wasn’t particularly fast. She smacked it from behind, as she continued to strike it as slashing away it’s health finally began to take a hit. But just when she thought it was over it swung around holding its arm out clotheslining her. She tumbled backwards landing rather hard on her back. “That hurt..” she grumbled as she sat up shaking her head. Luckily for her the monster was almost dead, but it was wise to that particular trick. She thought quickly trying to figure out a way to deal with it. She dashed forward slashing down as it raised its arm to strike but instead of striking at its torso she struck at the arm cutting it off before it hit her. She grinned as it took another tick of its health before it could grow its arm completely back she turned and raised her sword above her head and brought it down “kabutoswari”. The sword came down hard striking the monster right on the head bringing its health down to zero. “That’s that.” She said as the golem dissolved into gold and a puddle of soil. She plopped down next to the golem in an attempt to catch her breath as she waited for her health to regenerate.
She sat there and ate an apple she found from a tree the good news was that it actually tasted like an apple. It helped with the health regen, and it was relaxing to rest for a bit after fighting the man of dirt. She grinned as she pulled out her picked up her sword reaching over her right shoulder she sheathed it. Honestly she didn’t know how people did it so easily every time she wanted to put the damn thing away it took her at least twelve tries. She sat and rested until she her health bar read full. She than got up and began to head back towards town this was about as far as she wanted to go today. I mean if laser butt weasels and men made of dirt weren’t enough she wasn’t sure what was. Besides there would probably be plenty more excitement on the way back to town, maybe another laser butt weasel or some more whatever monsters that make no sense what’s so ever with silly weaponry maybe bazooka, nose d turtle or something equally ridiculous she strolled on the way back to down when something awful happened. She tripped and rolled down a rather steep hill, when she sat back up she realized that she was surrounded by laser butt weasels. “You’ve got to be kidding me..” she said looking around at the hissing weasels.
It took a few seconds for her mind to wrap around her situation. “You can’t be serious….” She said as she got up and bolted running as fast as she could away from the weasels, but as she ran she agro even more monsters. “This stinks!” she cried out as she dodged bullets and ducked in and out behind trees as what seemed like an army of monsters chased after her. When a slim grabbed her by the foot she pulled the sword and struck it down as she continued to run sometimes getting further away from them and others times they gained on her. There was at least two dozen monsters behind her. She turned to see that a briar weasel was nearly caught up to her she took a left turn raised her sword and brought it down on the head of the briar weasel. Completing her first chain as she turned to run after killing the weasel.
She continued to run until she came to another bend she turned and waited until they where almost caught up to her before jumping out and suddenly slashing across left to right as she called out “shunsen“ it caught them all inside It killed a few of the weaker ones leaving only a few briar weasels. That where stronger than the rest as she turned to run again she would have to time this last hit perfectly or else she was going to be done for, dead doomed whatever word you want to use it means that she wasn’t going to make it out of this situation alive and that didn’t seem like fun at least not to her. In fact that seemed like a terrible idea. She took off running as fast as she could needing at least 3 seconds ahead of her attackers which meant that she needed to be ahead by something like 30 yards, or else they would catch her and kill her before the skill would have time to go off. She bolted as fast as she could taking sharp corners to slow them down as she ran through the swamp hoping that she wouldn’t trip as she stumped forward. It seemed that whenever they were running straight the weasels would gain on her and whenever they took any sharp corners she would pull ahead a little so she tried to take turns as often as she could even though she was becoming hopelessly lost at least she wasn’t dead. She was running as fast as she could before she slid to a halt behind a wall. She turned and raised her weapon as she began to charge her final skill, she saw the flows of mana cover her blade as the energy gathered for the attacked she counted in her head “one.” she heard the her heart thundering as they got closer and closer. “oh god oh god.” She muttered as the energy swirling around her blade became brighter. “two.” She could hear them now the six - seven of them where left she wasn’t one hundred percent how many where left when she turned to look there was at least 5 but not as many as 9 so she was going to hope it was six, six sounded good. Her heart beat raced thump, thump, thump. She swallowed hard, it was almost time they needed to be here now and if they weren’t she was doomed. “oh god please….” She muttered as she counted three just as she finished bringing her sword down 4 of them burst from around the corner. It was by far her most powerful attack as the bright light spread out from the point of impact the ground felt like it was splitting as the light burst from under her enemies what was surely just a second the light but it felt so much longer as it incinerated her enemies. That was all of them, she signed as she put her sword away as she gathered up the coins. When she looked around she had no idea where she was. “oh great…” she muttered as she realized that she was lost, not your normal kind of lost I mean full on no idea where she was. “Of all the places to get lost it had to be a stinky swamp.” She sighed as she turned around looking for anything that looked familiar. She sighed and began to walk towards what she assumed was north and back towards the town. She wasn’t sure that it was the right direction but she wasn’t going to get anywhere if she just sat there and waited, it’d do her no good. She began found traces of where she had been as she made her way back she was no tracker and it felt as if she was walking around in circles but she was sure she’d find her way eventually. At least she hoped she would. As the sun began to set she was still wondering around aimlessly. But just as it seemed she was going to spend the rest of the night in the forest she came across gold on the ground. It must have been from the monsters she killed earlier. She followed her own trail as she found her way back to the hill she had fell down. When she finally managed to climb back up the hill. It was almost mid night as she stumbled through the swamp she was sure she would have a repeat of the earlier event of dozens of monsters chasing her but by some miracle she was lucky enough to avoid them, only coming across the occasional slim which she quickly dispatched with a swift slash of her might stick sword. It was almost 2 am when she made it back to town exhausted and dirty she went into the nearest inn. The maid didn’t look too happy to have a dirty adventurer in her inn but yurei tossed her half of the money she had earned that day and demanded a bath and some grapes and the best room they had available she grinned exhaust as she cleaned herself rested getting the grim and dirt off was probably the best feeling in the world. She honestly wasn’t a girly girl in fact she couldn’t care less if others thought of her as girly or not but there was something about a warm bath that just made her happy. She finally got out of bed and dried herself off before going up to her room for a well-deserved night of sleep.
