I really should Be doing work, But there you lurk And so I would Sit down a bit. I must admit An hour passed Much too fast. Just one more level. You are the devil!
Hands brushing down the tussled fabric of his jacket, Dorian dusted off and smoothed out his attire, glancing upwards with his emerald orbs to see his appearance reflected in the window of a particular store on the street corner, the order opening and closing nearby as people entered and left occasionally. You seem to be lingering on your clothing, Aurelia spoke, abruptly breaking the silence with an obvious statement to gather the Shaman's attention from whatever he was focusing on currently. Rolling his shoulders gently to idly check the fitting of his jacket and shirt, he relaxed his form as he nodded slowly, attesting to his current worries. "I've gained quite a large amount of levels lately; I've almost hit the old level cap of 90..." His work in the past few months had seen him gain quite a bit of experience as an Adventurer, and he had gathered quite the skill setin that time, bringing him to a healthy level eighty. "Unfortunately, this means that my current gear is... lacklustre." His hand fell down to the hilt of his longsword, which was currently strapped across the back of his waist, the leather-wrapped handle poking out behind his right side, for easy access and a smoother, curved unsheathing motion, which fit better with his dancing style of fighting. Despite this, the longsword itself was not only back down at the level thirty range, but a generic Lander-crafted item from Stratford with little in terms of power, especially at his new level. The Shikigami nodded her understanding of his situation, gesturing mentally towards his currently disguised leather armour, which was in the same predicament as his longsword. The only real power item you have is your Enchanted Snowglobe, and even that is rather under levelled. She was right; his crystal ball, a reward from his activities during the Snowfell period last year, was the only item he had that gave an effect, besides his Accessories, but it too was rather low level compared to his new tier. "So, I guess we just have to hope that this store has something useful for us..." It was a long shot, given most weapons and armour that would fit his level would be Adventurer crafted, but not knowing many crafters who could help him, it was currently his only option. Stepping away from the reflective window, he finally pushed against the wooden door and swung it in on itself, hearing the jingle of a bell being struck, no doubt set up to indicate customers were leaving or entering the store. Before he could even give the place a decent glance, an middle-aged werecat gentleman with a strong build and twitchy, excited whiskers. "Welcome, Adventurer! I could smell your sense of journey and exploration from the back," the shopkeeper greeted, make gentle sniff sounds to make certain he was not mistaken. Dorian chuckled softly, nodding his head to affirm the werecat's assumption. "Thank you for the welcome, sir... I trust you are the one who runs this shop?"The cat man quickly nodded himself, practically bouncing back towards the counter at the opposite end of the room and standing behind it, his hands pressing into the mahogany surface as he leaned over the top of it. "Quite right, my boy! Please, take a look around, tell me if you see anything worthy of your interest." Dorian bowed his head low with a gentle smile, turning his attention away from the overly eager shopkeeper to glance over the items on display. Various different collections of leather, cloth and metal armours, all set up on mannequin racks to better show off the way they curved and formed on the wearer's body. Brushing his hand over one of the leather sets, his eyes blinked slowly as he activated his interface, using it to scan the pieces and gather their level. Unfortunately, none of the armour seemed to hold up to his current set, though some came close to matching; but he wasn't looking for alternates, he was in need of something stronger. Shaking his head with soft disappointment, he instead moved to the weapons. The shelves and racks were stacked with an assortment of swords and spears, smaller knives and curved edges that all seemed like solid crafts; under normal circumstances, he would be happy to take on one of these slashers and attach it to his belt. But as his hand went out to reactivate his interface, scanning over the blades and batons, the levels were just as abysmal as the armour, with nothing matching his longsword, let alone beating it in their stats. With a sorrowed and heavy sigh, Dorian gave one last glance back to the werecat, who nodded slowly in understanding of the Shaman's disappointment. "I'm sorry I could not be of assistance to you, Adventurer; if you see any younger warriors, please recommend them to me when you can." The Shaman nodded, giving the shopkeeper a smile before striding towards the door and pulling it open, swiftly exiting the building and stepping out onto the street, into the small crowd that was passing by. Remaining still for the moment and letting the crowd pass by him, he lifted one hand to slowly brush his digits through his tangled, rough locks of messy hair that sat atop his head, breathing out a long, drawn out breath before sucking in a hefty amount of fresh air to calm his nerves.

The first thought Nyx had when she entered the market area was that there were so many people. During her two years of being incognito, she had avoided the area as much as possible since she was concerned she would get bombarded by party invitations. It seemed that loli fox girls were popular… too popular, even for her taste. When she was in inns doing basic work for money, there were a many a people that didn’t seem to want to leave her alone. Thankfully, she could hold her own well enough and they eventually back off. However, it seemed that she was now having the opposite problem: no one was taking any notice of her... though maybe it wasn’t a problem after all.
Nyx was able to take her time looking at the many booths that were set up… though the more she looked, the more confused she became. The prices just seemed really high and really off… and nothing seemed to make sense to her. Then again, she had to remind herself that this was still the first video game she had ever played; there were some things that just weren’t going to make sense to her. However, she did now shopping, or at least she thought she did. It seemed though she would need help… which was becoming quite a theme for her. She had no real idea how to fight, she didn’t know her class, and she didn’t understand how games worked… the list seemed to go on and on.
Suddenly Nyx got knocked into a group of people going very fast. She tried to squeeze out but it was no use at first… and she just went with the flow. After a minute there was an opening that she could see… and she took it. Using what little power she had, she pushed through. However, the force made her trip and fall… right into someone who was standing still which then caused her to fall backwards right onto her tail. Pain shot through her, and she got off of her bottom and stood up.
“Sorry about running into you,” Nyx said to the person who she had run into. It was a guy with kind of messy hair… he seemed like a nice guy so hopefully she wouldn’t hold it against her.

Dorian felt the rush of the crowd as it passed by him, letting the various Landers move around his stationary form at quite a speed; it was a wonder how none of them had bumped into him yet, but he supposed the People of the Land were familiar with moving between large groups of people in the city's limits. He wondered if the Adventurers had changed much in the Landers daily lives here, after the Catastrophe had occurred and they had become completely ingrained into the world. But alas, he did not have much time to think on this, as he felt the gentle thud of a smaller humanoid running into his form. Thanks to his strength and stature, he was able to take the shock and simply skirt to the side a few inches before recovering.
Glancing down quickly, he saw the dishevelled form of a young fox tail girl who had summarily ran straight into him through the crowd; judging by her demeanour and her stark contrast to the calmed Landers moving past them both, Dorian assumed this girl was an Adventurer, are novice one at that. With a concerned expression dawning over his features, he moved to help her up onto her feet, but the fox tail was quick to do so on her own. "That's all right," he muttered in reply to her apology, glancing down over her to check if she was bruised in any way. "My apologies for not noticing you sooner, I might have been able to avoid the collision." He chuckled softly as he titled his head slightly to one side, curling his lips into a smile.
He glanced around at the near vicinity, noticing a nearby crowd approaching he would undoubtedly make things difficult for people attempting a conversation on the street, especially for this rather clumsy youngster. Lowering his hand to take her own, he gave her palm a reassuring squeeze before gesturing towards a less crowded area of the street nearby, somewhat like an alcove between the shops that opened into an alleyway. "Come on, let's move out of the way of the masses," he spoke quickly, gently tugging on the fox tail's arm to pull her with him as he moved into the alcove and stepped out of the way of the oncoming crowd, swiftly taking her with him.
"Apologies for that, didn't want you getting knocked over again." Speaking softly, his features returned to their calm, collected nature, as he continued to offer a kind smile before releasing her hand, turning his body to face her. "Ah, where are my manners..." Dorian rolled his eyes at himself, this time offering his hand for a common gesture of introduction that he hoped she would take him up on. "My name is Dorian, miss... A pleasure to make your acquaintance." Holding his hand out, he let his eyes scan and take in the younger Adventurer, her fox tail features quite prominent. Lifting up his interface, he saw that she was classed as an Enchanter, an interesting pick; he knew not many Enchanters, other than his fellow guild member, Capsule.

It seemed the person Nyx wasn’t too bad. Or at least he wasn’t mean about her running into her… okay yeah, he was nice since he apologized for not noticing her sooner. “It’s not your fault,” Nyx responded with a slight smile, “I kind of got swallowed in by the rush.” Almost as if on cue though, it seemed that another crowd was about to go by, and Nyx looked around for a place to hide from it. The person she ran into seemed to notice the crowd as well but instead took her hand, squeezing it slightly, before leading her away from the crowd to a less crowded area. Thank goodness! Though the gentleman seemed to be really nice and even apologized for taking her off out of the crowd. After he released her hand, he introduced himself as Dorian.
“There’s no need to apologize,” Nyx responded, her ears twitching slightly, “Actually I should thank you for making sure I didn’t get swept off again. Oh, my name’s Nyx.” Nyx briefly studied Dorian. He did seem to be a nice guy… maybe he could help her.
“Dorian, right?” Nyx finally spoke, “You seem to be quite a capable adventurer… so I was wondering if you could possibly help me with something… of course if you’re busy with your adventuring, I would be fine on my own… but I was wondering if you could explain how this market works or maybe how the stores price their stuff. It doesn’t quite make sense to me.”
There was no point in mentioning that this was her first game… or the fact that she had no idea what the heck she was doing… though if he were willing to help her out, this could be the opportunity to learn about the game that the sorcerer and heretic she knew couldn’t help her with.

Noticing the slight twitch of the Fox Tail's ears, Dorian gave a soft chuckle under his breath, nodding his head in a bobbed affirmation of her words; he had been doing quite a bit of apologising all ready, and he needn't do so to what seemed like a kind and quiet girl. "A pleasure to meet you, Nyx," he finally replied, bowing his head forward respectfully. "I'd shake your hand, but... well, our hands have been linked long enough for first impressions, I would say." A teasing laugh rolled out between slightly parted lips as he tilted his head to one side, shaking it in final reply to her offer of thanks. "No need to thank me, of course; merely helping out a fellow Adventurer."
She repeated his name, quite well despite his deeper British accent; he was certainly impressed by the young girl, though as she spoke, she seemed to give off the sense that she was rather lost in this world. "I'm always happy to help," he quickly replied, giving her a reassuring smile. "Even if I was busy, which I'm not, I can always find time to give a little guidance here and then." Listening to her inquiry, he brushed his hand up over his chin, humming his contemplation against his palette before nodding once more. "Sure, it's simple enough once you get started. Here, follow me." Finishing his words, he gestured for the Enchanter to follow him back out of the alcove they had hidden within.
Leaving the light shade of the buildings and stepping back out onto the street, Dorian glanced back and forth to make sure there were no lingering crowds that would be passing by; thankfully, it seemed that the early morning shoppers had already moved on from this section, so it was just here and there stragglers who wouldn't be a danger. "Markets like this one are rather easy to read, in terms of finding what you want..." He began to point to each store nearby, directing Nyx's attention to the signs hanging above the doors and naming off items the different shops may sell. "Weapons, armour... variety or general store, you'll find all sorts there... oh, that's a tricky one; the cauldron can sometimes be mistaken for a potion shop, but they're mostly used by inns and taverns. A reference, I think."
Finally, he turned his attention back to Nyx, clasping his hands back together behind his back and gesturing with his body and expressions towards the different shops. "As for prices, you can usually barter them down depending on the level of the items; Landers have it rough these days, now that Adventurers have become adept at their crafts, so you can save a penny or two..." Releasing a sigh, he lifted his hand up past his face, brushing his hand through his brown curls, his attractive mess of a mane tangling around his fingers. "I try to pay them well though. It's a tough economy thanks to us Adventurers, so I give where I can; but you don't have to worry about that. Landers are usually kind enough to settle with you, give you a good deal." He gave a silent smile as he finished his explanation, waiting patiently for any questions.
