[attr="class","bi2"]PLAYED BY: Akahiko [attr="class","h2"]Appearance [attr="class","b"]In the real world, Jack, boasting short, but thick, light blonde hair, looks more or less like your average British university student. Much like the rest of the way Jack presents himself, his hair style was decided on utility rather than looks. In the past this was simply because he was more focused on school work and other things to particularly care about fashion and chose what was comfortable, but after his expulsion his reasoning shifted how it was low maintenance and gave him even just a sliver more time to hunt down the person who framed him. As a result, he is most often seen in things like jeans and tee-shirts, however no longer combs his hair as often as in the past. Inside Elder Tales, Jack boast an image that is both similar in reason but very different in look. Again prioritizing utility over style, Jack picked a hairstyle and height close to that of his own (5'11"). Initially not much one for colors (not that the game was offering much variety at level one), his armor is the standard issue silver starter plate mail for now, but perhaps as he settles into the game that will change. Incidentally, his only reason for choosing blue hair was that it was the game's default hair color choice. That said, the one thing oddly enough Jack did bother to edit was his character's eyes, opting for a more narrow look than the standard round and open one the game gave naturally. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"] In the past, Jack believed in those in positions of authority, trusting their words of what was best. There were always questions as to why something was done a certain way, but in the end he trusted that the truth was just. After his betrayal by that very system though he found that what was often presented as the truth wasn't really anything true or just at all, but rather just a system to put the minds of the many at ease. So long as the solution was simple and made sense it didn't matter to those in charge if it was true. From that point on, Jack put his trust only in that which he could believe was true and just. The one thing that he learned was that sometimes doing what was truly just required destroying the false peace laid in place by those in power. Still, Jack's new belief system is still forming and the events of his false accusation have yet to be resolved. Fearing that every moment spent stuck in Elder Tales let his chances of reaching the truth slip further and further away, Jack has become more prone to move first and ask questions later, sometimes forcing others to rein him back in when he goes a little too far. While he is now hotheaded, those who have earned his trust can usually make him understand their views even if his stubbornness makes him deny it. All of that said, Jack still wants to try and do what's best for people, although his hardest struggles come when what is good isn't doing what is just. That said, if he sees anyone working against what he believes is right his is quick to eliminate the problem. While in the past Jack tended to be more relaxed and do a lot of reading and listening to music, now he has turned to MMOs as his way of venting off steam from being in a situation where the truth seemingly can't be had. He also turns to his friends as a pillar of support along the way as if, to him at least, they can reassure him that he is taking the right path. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"] For the most part Jack had a fairly normal childhood, doing everything from watching cartoons to playing games with friends, often with the daughter of his family friends next-door, Touko, who was about a half year younger than him. While he was never particularly exceptional, he was still a hard worker approached things straightforwardly with a light heart. Being an avid reader, he even became a member of his high school's Literature club during his second year and managed to stay a semi active member up until his graduation. Of course, he also did things like surf the net and play online games in his free time, but for the most part he was just worried about getting into college and getting a stable career afterward. Eventually his hard worked payed off and he managed to get into Oxford by the skin of his teeth. Like many kids, heroes had been a major part of Jack's entertainment life when growing up and this had instilled a sense of wanting to help others with whatever job he went into. That said though, he was still a realist and knew he wanted something that would definitely pay the bills. In the end, Jack settled on an Accounting major and a Computer Science minor, enabling him to help fight the war on financial cyber crime once he graduated. Sadly, it seemed that day wasn't going to come along any time soon. Halfway into the fall of his sophomore year, during which he was joined at Oxford by Touko, Jack was accused of hacking into university computers to change a final grade in one of his classes. While admittedly his grades that spring had been a little shaky, something like this went against everything Jack had been told was right and he had neither the will nor ability to do such a hack. Sadly, a thin trail of evidence showed his computer having broken into the school network and changed the data on the server. For obvious reasons, the school viewed this as a very serious incident, however in the end they neither had enough evidence to convict him in a court of law nor any other suspects. In the end they chose the easiest route and Jack was expelled from Oxford with no criminal charges filed. Knowing the school had just accepted him as a scapegoat, Jack wasn't about to go down without a fight. Obtaining a part-time job at a small local pub he had occasionally visited during his freshman year, Jack proceeded to rent an apartment near the school and continue the investigation with the help of Touko and Mana, an old MMO acquaintance later turned real life friend after finding out they were attending the same school. Knowing that a hacker capable of entering the Oxford systems could easily enter their personal ones, the group decided to discuss the investigation details offline or, in case of emergency, collaborate through the Elder Tales, a well known MMO that was finally being released in the UK. Deciding to use the launch day as a chance to test the game as a meeting ground, the three logged in. Starts or resets the current Chain. Kabutowari is a simple technique that involves a quick forward charge followed by a vertical slash aiming to cut down on the target's head. It delivers extra damage if dealt when the target has full HP. [attr="class","skill"]Ace Move: Mawarufuusen: Tier I Samurai Skill, Chain 2. Usable after Chain 1 skills. Mawarufuusen is performed by lifting the weapon above the user's head and spinning it around like a helicopter propeller. This causes a manipulation of the air surrounding the user, pulling in any nearby opponents toward the user. As a result, nearby opponents' movement speeds are reduced if they target any character other than the samurai. This skill's attribute is wind, can be sustained up to 10 seconds, and has a cooldown of 1 minute. [attr="class","skill"]Spear Break: Tier 1 Skill An attack dealt by thrusting forward a 2-handed weapon. The momentum of the attack is focused upon shoving the target, so this skill deals little damage but boasts a good amount of knockback potential. Use it strategically to knock an opponent down a large drop to deal fall damage. This skill has an animation time of 2.5 seconds and a cooldown of 7 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Allure: Level 1 Courtesan Skill A toggle skill that can be used anytime in a conversation with People of the Land. It allows the Courtesan to smooth over any mistakes and retain the target's attention. Often, this skill can also be used to obtain information that would otherwise require long interrogation. Allwwure's effect scales with the Courtesan's subclass level, becoming more effective at higher levels. [attr="class","skill"]Disassembly: Level 1 Mechanic Skill Toggle skill. Mechanics have a certain affinity with taking apart machines, so monsters that are mechanical in nature had better watch out. Mechanics deal 20% more damage to Machine-type monsters. They can also cancel buffs on Machine-type monsters upon a successful hit.
