The Masked Mage, cloak flowing from his shoulders down to his legs, hood covering his hair walked crunched his way through the woods, twigs and branches giving way, cracking and splintering under his steps.
It seemed Aeon had taken on a more shadowy evolution in himself, his prime element was lightning and his spell arsenal flowed with its power, there was something rather satisfying about toasting your prey with high currents and voltage, stopping them in their tracks with a bolts from the blue that snaked the sky as they shred their prey that stands before them.
Aeon had become a rather sombre and lonely person he wasn’t the type to go out of the way to talk to people or make friends, he rather preferred sticking to himself and keeping his problems and his business to himself, the type to love but not to follow through with anything, the type to stand in the shadows, the type to be obscure and less well known.
There were many creatures in the woodlands and the swamps, Aeon had begun taking down the creatures he had slain, marking each creature he had sent to oblivion with his blade or with his lightning magic.
The tree where the strangest thing about this forest it felt occasionally like you were being watched from afar, as if something’s eyes where following you about the forest.
Mysterious creatures lurked in the forest some a mixture of flesh and fibre moulded into abdominal forms that seeked prey of adventurers to feed on their flesh and bone.
Even fibrous creatures that given the chance would dissolve you in acid if they could get you in there mouth’s, Aeon slightly wondered how players on the smaller size favoured against those creatures wondering if any person had been swallowed whole.

His force shield hummed slowly in the dusk woods, as darkness crept across the soil as the moon rised.
There was some cracking and creaking in the trees a branch struck the ground hard near him, as a mass of roots and bark, covered in moss and liken edged forwards with its hulking body, poised to engage the mage.
Aeon let out a quiet cold laugh, as he raised his hand as he stepped back as he cast *serpent bolt*, energy roaring its way picking up charge as it primed itself for overload as the creature slowly tried to encroach slowly, it ejected something from its body.
Something spat from the tree orange and greeny landing on Aeon’s boots as he jumped backwards, the sticky liquid bound to the floor like glue rapidly pulling away like it was between solid and liquid stages.
As his lightning overloaded bolt of serpentine lightning darting out, some exploding along the lines of bark of the tree, fragmenting and shattering segments of the creature’s wooden hide.
The tree reared back on its shambling roots slightly, as it centred itself on its target, beginning a rapid pepper of seeds, striking into Aeon padded chest armour and some bouncing off the mask with a clang as seed met metal.
Aeon blinked drawing his sword as he did so summoning the power of lightning flowing it into his blade as he appeared in a diagonal from where he was before and closing bringing his sword across the back of the creature as his lightning spat out and as blade clinked along bark breaking it as the creature tried to turn its machine gun seed spitter towards the moving mage.
It wasn’t long the creatures slow nature made it easy to deal with, its rather easy to follow combat pattern mixed with its slowness didn’t really matter if it could slow you, closing and striking always strafing to make sure its main ability couldn’t lock on of course the occasional branch would have to be deflected and dodged but that was far softer than getting machine gun downed by constant flows of seeds.
It seemed like the creature must have some sort of endless supply method.
Then the creature fell its root anchors coming loose a toppling with its sheer weight to the ground with a crunch as it’s threw up leaves and dirt into the air as it cratered into the ground.
Aeon turned to leave the creature beaten quite well, he had his own wound to attend to and the thing wasn’t getting any time soon.
As he tried to step away the creature still had some fight left in it lashing out with its vine like roots at its combatant, whipping like those damned brier weasels he had faced before but without the red beam like whips or the spikes that dung in hard and ripped out harder.
Aeon had, had enough creatures always wanting to continue when they had lost of course it seemed AI had no idea that there are times to run and give up, they just keep on fighting, of course for such an ancient game you shouldn’t expect the AI to be something evolving, something that could think of the fly and do rapid actions to attend to its foe’s to bring them down they always seemed to follow some pattern that’s what made prey that wasn’t smart easy to slay as they were predictable.
On the other hand there where things that weren’t predictable and they were the other inhabiting this world other people trapped in the plane, Human’s they are unpredictable with their rage and fear they panic and act on the fly, coming up with crazy things on the fly that meant you couldn’t predict there next actions and prepare counters to them prior, you had to react on the fly yourself.
Aeon’s eyes seemed to light up with fire as the creature struck out towards him.
An orb of fiery lava burned up in his hands swirls of orange, red and yellow in molten form rolling and spinning as he turned his head to look towards the centre of the lashing root bed, he launched the ball from his hand.
“Burn asunder creature of the forest”
As the lava orb exploded its way through the centre of the root ball, exploding its way up through the bark of the creature, as the numerous holes in its body lit up glowing through the bark a fiery red as the orb made its way through the softer insides of the creature boiling the water within its system and its cells, exploding membranes and burning through it.
It produced a scent of slow burning as the creature seemed to try to scream as it could as the orb exploded out of it, dissipating as it left its body.
The creature didn’t last much longer either the whole body condensed on the inside into a large ball of flames the inside wasn’t very wet and its sap wasn’t going to do much against the power and heat that lava carries.
The creature slummed and began dissolving as all the creatures did back to some form of base property into bubbles that seemed to float up endlessly into the sky so tiny that they were hard to notice after they escaped from close view or maybe they just disappeared completely, who knows.
Aeon sheathed his sword as the battle came to a halt, the creature was higher level but it was quite easy in any game for a player to deal with even a couple of enemies slightly higher than him.
As Aeon walked off he said to himself “Lightning can burn as well but sometimes a bit of….extra education in burning is good to”
