[attr="class","ws"] [attr="class","h"]JELGA [attr="class","fc"] [attr="class","bi"]REAL NAME: Emilie Gladden [attr="class","bi2"]REAL GENDER: Female [attr="class","bi2"]GENDER: Female [attr="class","bi2"]AGE: 22 [attr="class","bi2"]SEXUALITY: Homosexual [attr="class","bi2"]FACE-CLAIM: nightmaremk2, ORIGINAL [attr="class","bi2"]PLAYED BY: Sifr [attr="class","h2"]Appearance [attr="class","b"]Jelga stands at four feet, seven inches; significantly shorter than her real life appearance of five foot, eleven inches. In the real world, she was a very tall and slender woman, which makes this new appearance of hers absolutely bizarre. She is stout, muscular and wears the armor of a Guardian exceptionally well. Underneath her helmet, she has red hair that she bunches in two loose pigtails. Her bangs fall down her face heavily, instead of remaining tied up like many of her race; which is very different as well from her real life appearance. In real life, she normally has a short and sporty black haircut. Her eyes are a deep clear blue shade in the world of Elder Tale, framed by the tan of her cheeks. She has pale skin that has been tanned by the sun, and a tiny, almost cute nose. Her jaw is square, and she wears two silver hoops in the top of each ear. She is a busty lass and prefers chain mail over plate armor, feeling that the increased dexterity is worth the decrease in defense. When out of her armor, she normally wears a tunic and tights, which show off her muscular form. She prefers them as they are comfortable clothes, rather than something that looks incredibly pretty. She can also usually be seen with a hammer in her hand when she isn't on the battlefield. In real life, Jelga was a very different looking woman. She's thin, almost on a skeletal level, and very obsessed with her body image. She has short, black hair, and constantly keeps on dark makeup. She has several more piercings than she does in the game of Elder Tale, she is 5'11", and she can normally be seen wearing clothes that have some kind of leather strap across them to hold the fabric together. She has several tattoos, and her whole image to the eyes of a psychologist is that of a young woman that is screaming for attention. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"]Jelga is adventurous. She normally wants to see the world, get into trouble, and rarely appreciates the same, monotonous routine. She flings herself into whatever she's doing and she does it well enough to get by. She also comes up with some amazing ideas. She's spontaneous, and often prefers to do the unexpected route rather than the same, boring routine. However, that doesn't mean that she's dimwitted. Jelga will often make sure that the odds are in her favour before she proceeds. She has minimal caution, but enough intelligence to know when to fight and when to flee. Jelga is a born leader, one who chooses to rally her people through charisma. This is reflected through her dry humour and barbed wit. She says things very matter-of-factly, yet always follows it with a friendly laugh and a wicked smile. She is enthusiastic and kind, always willing to lend a helping hand. She lives very much in the 'here and now', and charges into making decisions before thinking things through. She is impatient with plans and theory, and would prefer to learn via experience rather than through hours of study and books. While she also has an extraordinary talent for helping people get started on their plans, her own plans usually have some trouble staying off the ground when she's grown bored of them. Jelga also struggles with depression, and is occasionally prone to outbursts. She also lacks empathy for the situation that her fellow players are in. Where most wonder how they will get home and they feel trapped, all Jelga sees is opportunity and a way to make a name for herself. All in all, Jelga is practical, fun, spontaneous, observant, and an incredible risk-taker, and uses her energy (when she has it) to empower others. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"] Life is a challenge, mate. You overcome one trial, they'll throw another at you. The best thing you can do is take that challenge and make it your empowerment. Jelga was born as Emilie Gladden twenty-two years previously. She was born to two very religious parents- so much so, their entire community was their church. They volunteered with their church, her father was close friends with the pastor, and Emilie spent most of her life being preached to about the love of their God and living in co-existence and harmony with one another. She was even home schooled, with a heavy emphasis on a proper Christian education. While her family didn't go so far as to tell her that maths and science were wrong, almost all of her lessons somehow had a tie-in with a religious text. She wore the proper clothes, she had the proper manners, and all in all she was the perfect example of a young girl from a God-fearing family. She had no other siblings however; her mother was older when she had Emilie, after several failed attempts and a lot of praying to God. Her mother ran a gift shop in the town where they lived, and when she wasn't at her lessons, she was usually helping her mother with the shop. Her mother even had enough influence that she managed to get Emilie a lovely cross to wear around her neck; it was simple, with a string cord and a gold and plain design, but it was something that made her happy to pray with. Yet, little did she know that there was a nagging feeling at the back of her mind, the feeling that something was missing from her life, although she had no reason not to be happy. It wasn't long after her thirteenth birthday that a new family came into town, along with their daughter who was Emilie's age. Emilie was expected to be generous and kind to this new family; be welcoming and represent the family well. That was how she met Trance Berardi. Trance was a rough and aggressive girl who had been deeply emotionally scarred by something in her life, and Emilie made it her mission to figure out what. She even rejected Emilie at work, saying hurtful things like how she was blind and brainwashed, how these 'people' had gotten to her and made her join their 'cult'. On the outside, she looked perfect, but on the inside, she was a bitter and angry soul. However Trance seemed to open up to Emilie after Emilie's persistence. She started to talk about how she had a lot of friends back in London that she had to leave behind for some reason, and that Emilie was the first girl she had been able to open up to since going to their hellhole town. While Emilie didn't fully understand why Trance was so bitter, she felt it could have been because she was forced to leave the life she knew behind. When she was fifteen, she truly did understand. She hadn't been interested in the boys in the church, although many of them had asked her out on dates. No, she hadn't really been interested in anyone until one day, Trance revealed her final piece of information that she had been holding. The reason that her parents had moved to the small town to try to start a new life. Trance revealed it by kissing Emilie passionately while they were out in a field and private. Emilie reciprocated. The two of them tried as hard as they could to keep their relationship a secret. But young love is obvious no matter how hard you try to hide it. Emilie would often skip out on her lessons to game at Trance's house. They'd have some fun, both in the games and out of the games, but a lot of their relationship was reflected through the MMORPG they played called Elder Tale. They played it on a North American server, as a couple, but they didn't actually reveal their relationship to their parents. Their relationship lasted three years. Their parents found out after Emilie's mother caught the two of them quietly flirting as they said goodbye to each other outside her shop. Emilie's family was horribly conservative when it came to these matters. They were cautious about anything new, especially things that violated God's laws in their eyes, and violated the carefully constructed image they had made for themselves. They treated Emilie cruelly; Emilie was forbidden from seeing Trance again, called an abomination by her father, her purity lamented by her mother. With Trance's increased frustration at their actions, and the fact that her parents had found out she hadn't been cured like they wanted, Emilie heard at church that Trance had taken her own life. The day that Emilie saw Trance's funeral procession, Emilie took the corded cross that her mother had given her, tied it to a rock along with a note of leaving, and threw it through her parents window. She was eighteen years old. Emilie went to London to live with one of her British guildmates, a Straight Ally who helped her get established and on her feet. She got a job at a coffee shop where she put the skills her mother had taught her to good use. She cut her black hair, changed her appearance, used the little artistic talent she had to design advertisements for the little shop, and chose to take on a different view of life. She couldn't let her life get her down as much as it did. She couldn't let Trance's death affect her. When she wasn't at work, she was pouring her time into her guild on the North American server. When she heard that the game was releasing a British server, her and her guildmate decided to switch to it instead of sticking around on the North American server. She thought her guildmate was at work when she signed on at launch time. Then she woke up as the recreation of the character she had made with Trance all those years ago.
