Real Life In real life, Rin is a more of normal, cute type of girl with waist-long purple hair, deep violet eyes, and a charming smile. However, these are marred by the burn scars that cover her right side, all the way from her right foot up to the right side of her face. In order to hide it, even from herself, she grew her hair out, so the bangs on the right side could reach down and cover up the burnt skin. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"]Rin is a very analytical person, seeking to understand and disseminate many of the pieces of information that she can gather. She is generally unbiased—unless the issue involves herself—wishing to understand both sides of the argument so she can make a fair judgment. Her self-induced solitude had led her to gather most of her social experiences through the internet, instead of in-person. For that reason, she finds that social interactions in real life have become a bit awkward and sometimes nerve-wrecking, unlike the calm personality that she portrays online. Now, stuck in Elder Tale, this aspect has become a mixed bag in which she often finds herself confused as to how to act. While she tries to be aloof and uncaring, she finds herself caring about others far more than she should, often leading her to frustrating situations that she would rather not be in. Yet, at the end of the day, she tries not to regret the decisions that she makes, even those that she somehow gets forced into—often by her own hands. She is technically a good natured person, despite how much she does not want to be. She has tried to condition herself, but that effort has often been met with failure. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"]Rin was born into a rich family in Mainland China, but at an early age—before she could even walk—her family fled to the West to escape political prosecution brought about by corrupted officials, bringing with them much of their wealth. She grew up in luxury and comfort, living in a mansion and attending exclusive private schools. She was a smart and beautiful child, a diamond in her parents Eeyes. However, such a lifestyle took its toll on her. She eventually became rebellious, refusing to learn her native language and hanging out with the wrong crowd despite her parents Ewishes. While with her parents on one evening at a famous restaurant, an explosion occurred from a bomb planted by a hitman that sought to murder a member of parliament. They were thus bystanders caught in the crossfire. Her father and mother died, shielding her from the brunt of the blast. However, the right side of her body was still heavily injured. Months of medical treatment had been necessary for her to survive, but it had heavily scarred the right side of her body, including her face. At first, she had shut herself away from the world to mourn her parents, but that eventually became merely an excuse to escape reality. As the inheritor of her wealth, with her only relatives still living in China, she mostly managed her finances by herself. She laid most of the mansion’s staff off, keeping only the essentials to maintain her lifestyle and closed off large sections of the mansion. Still traumatized by the experience and conscious of her visible scars, Rin became a shut-in for years, socializing only through her computer and the sparse interactions with the mansion’s remaining staff. MMOs had became a mainstay of her life, but she slowly became disinterested with them as well, switching between games as if she were simply changing clothes. [attr="class","skill"]Serpant Bolt: Sorcerer | A spell that shoots an initial blue-purple lightning bolt toward a target. However, rather than discharging entirely on the target on contact, the lightning remains as static energy. For 30 seconds at about 3-second intervals, the electricity arcs away from the target to damage and stun any other nearby enemies. As a result, it serves as a slight deterrent against defensive formations. Although this spell has a fairly long cooldown time, it has a fast casting speed and is often favored for use at the beginning of a battle. Because the target used to channel the electricity is not damaged by the spell, many Sorcerers also tend to cast it on themselves or a teammate as a supportive offense. [attr="class","skill"]Detox: Pharmacist | Level 1 | Pharmacists have developed a certain resistance around drugs and are immune to status debuffs caused by potions. Additionally, they recover twice as fast from poison status effects. [attr="class","skill"]Evaluate: Scholar | Level 1 | This skill allows the scholar to gain additional details about the enemy. While most players can access an interface that shows the monster's name, level, current HP, and current MP, the scholar obtains an additional interface when this skill is used. It has a one second cast time and one second cooldown time. The target's elemental weaknesses and a brief summary of their skills will be made available to the Scholar any time they access the target's interface.
