[SOLO] [CRAFTING] The Trapped Dancer Commission: Satchel Bag

Finding herself once more in the open air stall of her tailoring booth Masami couldn’t help but think that her business was starting to pick up a bit more recently. In particular the small plushie displayed prominently in the front had attracted more adventurers her way wanting one of their own. This was the case for the current customer as well, who wanted a satchel bag that resembled a small stuffed animal. Having done this a few times now the girl was fairly confident in her ability to make a satchel bag fitting the description she was given to work with.



Taking the supplies she would need out of her inventory she set them down by her work station behind the front counter and began to get to work. First thing she would need to do is make the basic shape of the bag itself and adding in extra fabric to stitch over the top to make the pockets the item would require and pockets was something this particular bag would have in abundance. What exactly was this adventurer planning to carry, maybe she was a courier subclass or something and this was for deliveries? Whatever it was didn’t really matter though to the tailor though she just had to make it and then sell it to the adventurer in question. It did provide interesting views and talking points though knowing how her customers liked their items and what they planned to do with them. It was these thoughts in mind that the young tailor carefully stitched together more of the fabric together slowly allowing the satchel bag to take its basic shape.

Holding the small satchel bag out in front of her Masami turned it over several times in her hands as she looked it over. The basic shape seemed to be finished and it resembled a satchel for holding stuff, but that only meant this job was half over and what was left the fun part she enjoyed making it cuter by making it resemble a plush animal. Looking over at her remaining supplies she took in a deep breath and set her project back down on the work table. Most of what was left was visual appearance work so she probably had enough material to work with still as she carefully added what would become ears to the bag and an extra little bit to make the ears into another compartment.



Next Masami took some colored fabric scraps that she had laying around from previous projects and carefully added them together to create a sort of rainbow colored effect on parts of the bag’s side and pastel colors to the front. Creating an opening across the front the young tailor placed a small piece of pink fabric to the back of the opening making sure it was able to both stick out and be tucked inside the opening making the appearance of a tongue being stuck out playfully and at the same time be kept out of the way when the bag was zipped closed. Adding the zipper to the bag proved to be the hardest part as the girl had never worked with adding one to anything like it up to now but it seemed to work out as she pulled the tab and it slid easily enough along the teeth sealing the compartment closed like a closed mouth. With a small smile Masami held the bag out in front of her as she looked into the bag’s large “eyes” and set it off to the side for safe keeping until the adventurer came back to pick it up.
