[attr="class","ws"] [attr="class","h"]JIN [attr="class","fc"] [attr="class","bi"]REAL NAME: John Smith [attr="class","bi2"]REAL GENDER: Male [attr="class","bi2"]GENDER: Male [attr="class","bi2"]AGE: Eighteen Years [attr="class","bi2"]SEXUALITY: Heterosexual [attr="class","bi2"]FACE-CLAIM: neku sakuraba, THE WORLD ENDS WITH YOU [attr="class","bi2"]PLAYED BY: 仁 [attr="class","h2"]Appearance [attr="class","b"]Despite his present residence in England, John comes from a relatively mixed racial background and has a gene pool containing many of the typical Caucasian traits. Of course, none of that particularly matters inside the game seeing as his appearance there differs from outside of it. His hair color is a deep chestnut which he parts to once side, sweeping his bangs over his forehead. His eyes are steely blue, almost leaning over to the grey end of the color spectrum. His expression is typically stoic, and his gaze never seems to be on any one thing. Despite that, his posture is controlled and he carries himself with a confidence unbecoming his slightly lithe-looking build. In-game, Jin’s hair is a vibrant orange that flairs up in many directions, but the sweeping of his bangs is maintained. His eyes are more or less the same color, but go from their typical shape to a more sharp and slanted variety. This serves to slightly increase the intimidation factor of his glare. His strong jawline from the real world is kept intact, and his height is kept to around the same six feet it is in the real world. To ease the orientation into the game, his physical build is also kept at the same level, more or less. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"]A life of moving about has made John a very adaptable person. He can make small talk with people, but is always wary of becoming too close to people because he doesn’t know how long he’ll be around or if they’ll be able to stay in contact. He is logical and analytical about situations he runs into, trying to assess the best way to proceed before going with any one action. This is not to say he incapable of being driven by emotions. John enjoys adrenaline, which is part of why video games appealed to him in the first place. Being given problems he was to solve to a certain degree of efficiency at a predetermined pace made things exciting, and the thrill of being able to use his whole body rather than just his fingers against a keyboard and mouse was almost too good to be true. Online, John is capable of being more open with others because he doesn’t have to worry about the potential of losing contact with them. He’s got a smart mouth, an undying confidence, and is stubborn as a mule when it comes to just about anything when you get to know him. He’s not the type to take orders, and would much rather follow his own path. He’s of the mind that if anyone wants to come along they’re welcome, but if they’re not going to do things his way then they can hit the road. That being said, John is prone to trying to do things for himself before accepting help. He takes pride in his solo performance, and even though he’s capable of synchronizing well with others he would much rather do things on his own. Even if he can’t do it on his own, he’s not the one to ask for help. He’ll take it if it’s offered, but his pride prevents him from admitting he needs it. Overall, if you can get past the abrasive nature and the arrogance, Jin will get along well with you. If you don’t, he’s not likely going to be the one starting any arguments, so ignoring him would be the preferable course of action if you don’t want to be put on the fast track towards fisticuffs. Real men speak with their fists, after all. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"]As a child, John’s family moved around from place to place, making it hard for the boy to make friends. Moreover, after a certain amount of time he simply didn’t see it as necessary. He quickly turned to the internet, and with it online games to meet and stay in contact with people. These relationships were easier to maintain, seeing as the people on the other end of the screen could always be counted on to be online when he was. It turned out that he wasn’t the only one prone to making friends in the real world. The further engrossed he became in his online activities, the more cut off John became from the real world. While his family was worried about him from time to time, he didn’t really see anything wrong with it. He kept his grades up, and he had a decent social life online. His family didn’t know anything about it, naturally. They were far too paranoid that he’d end up on the receiving end of some form of predation. As time passed on, John was subject to many attempts by his family to get him to branch out. Childhood sports had always been a thing for the boy, but when it came to joining school teams in both middle and high school he really didn’t see the point in doing so when he could be gone before the end of the season, especially seeing as his stoic and reserved demeanor often clashed with that of the brash jocks who joined teams generally. For the two years that music lessons were attempted, the boy’s parents grew increasingly frustrated with the fact that he never practiced on his own time. Because of this, they withdrew him from them. Over the years, John’s parents tried many things to break him from his gaming habit, and while he put up with a lot of their attempts, he was hardly one to do something for long without actually having the drive to do it. It wasn’t easy for John to convince his parents into allowing him to grab a virtual reality gaming device. In fact, they were adamant that he be on it for only a few hours a week at best. They were afraid that anything further separating the boy from the outside world would take him away from it completely. What John didn’t realize is that his parents’ worst fears were about to come true. [attr="class","h3"]Extra [attr="class","b"] Hand Dominance: Right-handed Race of Ritual Markings: Three thin navy blue lines arcing down the left side of his face beginning from the forehead and descending down to the chin. They steadily lose thickness the further down the face they are. Further markings of the same style can be found down the back of his neck and spine, which also crop out to follow the triceps, top of the forearm, and backside of the palm. |

A target struck by this weapon is inflicted with a minor paralysis effect. It can also affect a target who uses uninsulated metal equipment. [attr="class","skill"]Blink : Tier I Sorcerer Skill A short range teleportation technique often employed by the Sorcerer for emergency escape. The Sorcerer jumps in a direction and teleports about 1-5 meters away in the desired position. The only downside is that the teleportation distance is very haphazard and might actually not move you very far. Still, it's a useful means of misdirection especially when you're up against only one enemy. [attr="class","skill"]Serpent Bolt: Tier I Skill A spell that shoots an initial blue-purple lightning bolt toward a target. However, rather than discharging entirely on the target on contact, the lightning remains as static energy. For 30 seconds at about 3-second intervals, the electricity arcs away from the target to damage and stun any other nearby enemies. As a result, it serves as a slight deterrent against defensive formations. Although this spell has a fairly long cooldown time, it has a fast casting speed and is often favored for use at the beginning of a battle. Because the target used to channel the electricity is not damaged by the spell, many Sorcerers also tend to cast it on themselves or a teammate as a supportive offense. [attr="class","skill"]Inferno Strike: Tier I Skill The Sorcerer enchants a weapon with the flame element, causing it to glow red and release occasional small embers. A target struck by the weapon at this time can be ignited, causing minor damage over time. Because of the direct hit necessary to activate this skill, it is a slightly risky strategy. [attr="class","skill"]Holy Aura: Level 1 Priest Skill A skill that places holy protection upon the target, lasting for an entire hour. Characters affected by Holy Aura recover from Mind/Curse status effects twice as fast as usual. [attr="class","skill"]Detox: Level 1 Pharmacist Skill Pharmacists have developed a certain resistance around drugs and are immune to status debuffs caused by potions. Additionally, they recover twice as fast from poison status effects. [attr="class","h3"]Equipment [attr="class","b2"] [attr="class","skill"]Armor: Starter Cloth Armor: A basic set of cloth armor made from cheap fabric. They are not really protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it. [attr="class","skill"]Left Hand: Apprentice Grimoire: A one-handed apprentice’s book of spells designed for novice mages, made out of cheap materials. Doesn’t particularly have too many pages, but it is better than nothing. If used by a magic class, you get the ability to shoot a basic magic attack with a range of 2 meters. [attr="class","skill"]Right Hand: Starter Katana: A starter weapon designed for novice adventurers, made out of cheap iron. It is well-balanced and easy to use but doesn’t hit particularly hard at all. You probably should get this replaced as soon as you can.
