Blahblahblah they were having an adventure what the neep ever. Cicero got no love. NO LOVE. He was an Alv! He was important! Scoria had been hoping that he might finally get some love in this mission, after dealing with an endless rain of "wow Scoria you're such a loser", "wow Scoria your familiars sure do love everyone but you", and "wow Scoria literally no one loves you wow hahahahaha", but it wasn't fated to be. Even though he was clearly protag status right now. Look at that race. Look at it. His special race power! Storyline bonuses! Storyline things! He wanted stuff like that. Well, he at the very least didn't want to be pushed aside inside an alternate world. He couldn't exactly leave these guys behind and do his own thing when it was clear they didn't need him.
Oh wait yes he could. Yeah he was leaving. He was going to start his own shadow mission. With blackjack and hookers! Yeah! The glaring Cicero turned to glance at Caesar, shrugged, and waved. "I'll be back. Bye." Cicero then turned around and walked off, carrying all his Summoner and Sorcerer skills in tow as he moved away from Stonehenge. They could go have their fighting adventure, Cicero was leaving. For reals. No one could stop him. The 'strategist' glanced over his shoulder once at Caesar. Senpai? No? Okay then. Well, he was off. They were fighting and whatever and it wasn't like he was going to get involved, so he just walked quickly and away from Stonehenge. Every so often, he'd cast Blink, warping forward and making good time. Then suddenly, wall.
That was weird. It was one of those invisible walls, like he couldn't pass through, and if he squinted hard enough, he could make out the game's coding telling him to go get his act together and actually follow the scenario instead of being a little prick and ignoring his teammates. Hahahahaha. Like he was going to do that. He just made a right turn and continued walking through Sarum, glancing up at the sky. Yeah, Sarum was pretty boring. Anyway, adventure was out there! Scoria continued walking and ignoring things and just bluhhuhuhuhuhuh whatever. Walk walk walk. Oh hey there was a forest-like thing. Yay forests. Cicero walked and blinked closer to Stonehenge for a moment just to make sure he wasn't desperately required. No? No? No. Okay, he was going to get back to his walking adventure. He was going to have fun! Even when these guys were off doing protag and world-shifting things.
Sob.

They were all casters. To be expected of a group of druids. Well, this meant that some of their spells had cast times that required them to stay stationary, so Ryuu decided that he would be running interference. He was the fastest of the three, and he would allow the monk/bard and cleric/shaman to deal with the others one at a time. His goal was to keep the druids from healing each other and buffing each other up, as those all took time. He would relay the message to his two teammates that were here fighting with him. “I’ll distract any casters when they begin to channel spells. I’m the fastest, so you two focus on one. I’ll keep the others from healing him so that you guys will have an easier time in taking them on.” After laying down his earlier attacks, he began rushing towards the Druid who was attempting to cast something. Should they attempt to heal each other, Ryuu’s goal was to injure the healers so that they were forced to heal themselves instead of targeting the other druid, lest they wished to die themselves.
With every fiber of his new body, he was running quickly, and the ominous sound of thunder rolled above him. He shook his head, knowing what was about to hit him. His reflexes were quick, but they weren’t quick enough to dodge electricity. Just as he heard the thunder clap, Ryuu activated [Quick Draw] since it was his fastest move and would allow him to catch the target who had thrown the lightning. He stabbed at the druid, attempting to freeze him with his sword’s ability. He was hoping it would succeed, but he would do anything within his power to keep all of them to as little health as possible.
“Caerbannog, Shepard, fight against the one I’m fighting.. If one of the druids begins to heal, I’ll take care of it. Leave it up to me if they do,” he said, taking responsibility for the adults.

Opponent's Stats: Sentinel A [ HP: 62% | MP: 81% ] Sentinel B [ HP: 64% | MP: 79% ] Sentinel C [ HP: 58% | MP: 92% ] The elders watched the battle unfold, the elder leader watching with rapt attention as he observered the opposing party's power. The other two elders stood there with stone cold eyes glaring from beneath their hoods, both of them silently urging their disciples to get their teamwork synchronized.
The elder gave a deep chuckle, amused by how well the challengers fended off the deadly trio's first wave of attacks, .
"Many previous challengers have failed to land even a single blow upon them before succumbing to defeat. To finally see a group to withstand their offensive power is truly a sight to behold."
The other elder, much more armored than the other two, placed a hand on the sword at his side, involuntarily fidgeting with it as he listened to his leader speak.
"High Chief Caedmon, you praise their efforts too highly. The battle has already begun, and already you are prasing the intruders as if they've already won."
Caedmon merely laughed again, laying a hand on his comrade's shoulder.
"Judikael, you've become too much like the sword at your side; absolute and unyielding. You must become more like the willow trees of this land. They may appear miniscule and weak, but even under the strongest forces of nature, it will bend and absorb its assailant's rage, whereas its sturdier brethren sucumb to it."
The chief gave the second-in-command a firm pat on the shoulder, pointing at their champions as they fought.
"You see? Even as we speak, they're managing to withstand the brunt of their attacks."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The mesmerizing dance of mayhem and chaos ensued, each side performing its own move in the waltz to the unconscious. The Monk had even provided the music for the Sentinels to dance to, the Druids moving slowly as the effects of the ballad washed over them. They accepted their fate as their opponents' attacks all landed solidily amongst the three of them.
The center Sentinel was thrown back by the masked Arcanist's Martyr Spear, causing him to skid backwards until his boots hit the edges of the bonfire's logs. A bit of his cloak caught fire as his cloak fluttered in the flames, the Sentinel extinguishing it with a quick folding gesture.
Despite being under the effects of Slow, the left-most Sentinel managed to raise his shield in time to deflect most of the Legionnaire's attack. It was all for naught, the blade scraping along the surface of the shield before plunging deep into the Druid Sentinel's arm. The trail the sword had left on the shield began to ice over, the Sentinel quickly throwing it to the side as he pulled away from his attacker.
The third Sentinel seemed to suffer the worst from the assault, the Monk wasting no time to deliver her mechanical-fisted vengence upon the Druid. With the effects of her Beatdown toggled, the Aura Kick delivered to the Sentinel's face was more than enough to disconbobulate him. The added effect of his wolf familiar being flung at him and then getting Suplex'd to the ground added another amount of additional damage, dropping the now familiar-less Sentinel's HP about 40 percent.
The final effects of the Slow debuff wore off, the Druids regaining the speed and agility they had lost before. The three of them all moved back from their opponents, realizing that they would have to take a more ranged approach to deal with these threats. The Sentinel focused on Siculus discarded his one-handed weapon and swapped it out with a much more menacing-looking two-handed greatsword. It had the appearance of a curved meat cleaver, the wind whistling across its razor-sharp edge. It was almost as if it was cutting the very air itself.
As he brandished his sword, the other two combatants glanced at each other, each one signaling with a nod that they both knew their new offensive strategy. Both of them raising their hands, they each called up a Storm Shackle, manipulating the winds to bind both the Legionnaire and Arcanist. Binding the Legionnaire would allow one of them begin working on Earthbeat Healing, which is exactly what the center Sentinel did. Each of them bathed in the glow of healing energy, the counterattack stage went into action.
The two storm callers now called down more Lightning Falls, calling down enough strikes to hit each combatant once. To make things even harder, the greatsword wielding Sentinel swung his blade in a wide arc, sacrificing 10% of his HP to use Vicious Crusade on the negotiation group.
With lightning striking from above and a wave of dark red energy coming at them head-on, you could say they found themselves between a shock and a hard place. You Want a Party? Party You'll Get! The fight with the druids was going too well, Lucan more than anyone knew that such kind of warriors couldn't be that easy to beat, they trained over years and sentinels were the elite of this group, only overcome by the chiefs themselves, why they were not using everything they got? Lucan could hear the chiefs talking confidently about their warriors, what was going on? They were losing indubitably but yet they were so calm? A big din interrupted Lucan’s thoughts, Siculus has impacted against one of the druids shield and got it frozen, and suddenly the other two nodded between them, something was about to happen.-Lucan- Care!Lucan saw the druid Siculus was facing drop his one handed sword and wield a meat cleaver, his health points got reduced, that only meant one thing, Vicious Strike, and Lucan had to think fast, a quick “Miracle Mine” will do the job just well, with almost an instant cast, the mine was placed one step from the druid, who stepped over it to swing his horrid weapon; The explosion made the attacker fly away, leaving his meat cleaver in the ground and interrupting his attack and also causing some damage, the red animation faded away, but before Lucan could even react some strong winds started to lash out against the Arcanist and the Legionnaire, by the look of the green light in the hand of the middle druid he was casting some sort of heal, the Shikigami tried to reach the meat cleaver and tossed it to him with strength, but it was too late, the cast was already made, but anyway, it was a good hit.Wind, and also some lightning up the three of them, Lucan quickly used “Damage Interception” on the Legionnaire allowing him to withstand the damage of the lightning and also get out of the hurricane-like winds being protected of them by the shield, Lucan will take the damage, but not before casting “Divine Punishment” over himself. The lightning hit hard on him and the brawler, the druid who hit Lucan was quickly beaten by a light struck which deal the same damage the Lightning Fall dealt to Lucan.Once freed, Lucan let a “Restoration Relic” in the Field, which healed the whole team and unsheathed his sword and casted “Miracle Missile” along with “Hybrid Barrier”, combining “Exorcism of Cursed Lotus” with “Damage Interception” and quickly attacking the middle druid without letting him do any movement, the coordination with the Shikigami attacks who now had the one handed sword of the unarmed druid was outstanding, the strategy to change for a physical damage came by the amount of Mana left he had, just 40%, with also the 60% of Health he had, which was being healed from time to time by the Relic, the hits landed in the druid one by one, if it wasn’t the Arcanist’s hits it were the Shikigami’s one, the mana were restored more slowly than the health, but with enough time it would be fine, Lucan was somewhat tired with that big amount of mana he had to spend quickly, but it was something worth doing.-Lucan-Telepathy- Don’t let them breathe, and guard the Relic for a full minute if you can, go!Tags: @0x1dea @dindeen Scoria Kumori Word Count : 550
Suetonia | Whether in this body or her other one, the wolf-hair was of the same role and so Suetonia took the hits just as she would as Caerbannog: like a tank. The lightning effect tickled her a bit and dropped her HP by a few points, but Tako Lucan provided great support and put up a relic in the field. Succubus had told them to attack the same target that he set his eyes on, but that was a bit pointless at the moment since the other party was able to cast a healing spell. At least the other side’s summon was gone though.
The tide was pretty even with both sides having good support, but no matter how great the other party was, they lacked one important factor. They had no Suetonia. The brawler stood before the relic so that she would be able to intercept incoming attacks; also, it was all glowy so the girl within the wolf-hair kinda liked it. But more importantly, she aimed her mechanical hand at the enemy healer. Suetonia then formed a fist and shook her arm as if she was playing rock-paper-scissors, but when she threw down her hand, it was neither of the three. The brawler flipped off the healer druid and at the same time, she released the vibrations of her musical weapon in the form of the skill [Dischord].
As the druid which threw an arc towards them got up and recovered from his daze caused by Tako Lucan, Suetonia dashed close to him but did not get within melee range. Instead, she threw a [Zoom Punch] at the target using her intact arm and if it connected, she’d jump and follow up the attack with a [Wyvern Kick]. But again, the relic was important to their success and so was Tako Lucan’s MP pool, so the wolf-hair resumed her position as soon as she was free of attacking druids and played a more relaxing melody: [Meditation Nocturne].
With so many other people around, Ryuu could only imagine the chant of “Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!” happening while he was here trying to stay focused on his fight. These druids weren’t your average one-class D&D heroes… no. He was pretty sure that like himself, these druids were multi-class. Ryuu’s hero was a level 60 assassin and level 60 swashbuckler. (Oh my lord, that’s 120 levels now that I think about it). And these classes aren’t like Final Fantasy XIV classes, these were classes where what you learned from one class was still usable, instead skills being limited to certain classes. So what did this mean? Amazing 120 levels of goodness… and according to the normal system, that wasn’t even possible! Well Mr. Druids, prepare for a beating, because with both Swashbuckler and Assassin skills, they wouldn’t know what hit them.
Ryuu, however was now stuck. With the Shackles holding him in place, he looked over at the other two. Ryuu, himself, focused always on melee, but he remembered that in his quick slot, he had something called Twilight of Shadow. It was a bow that dealt light damage to whoever it hit. Ryuu’s smile turned into a devious smirk. The one that was focused on Siculus earlier, thought he was okay, but he didn’t get to account for the bow that he had in his inventory. Sheathing his rapier, Ryuu pulled out the bow from his inventory and nocked an arrow onto it. “Suetonia, jump back, 5 seconds!” he yelled out, telling her when his attack would hit the three targets that were beginning to bunch up together. She did so, as she returned back to where she started. Right as she jumped back, Ryuu pointed his arrow into the air and shot up. “Is this guy an idiot? Why does he need to aim upward when they’re so close?” some commentators would ask, but there was always a reason for his actions. [Congregating Arc] was used. The angle was high enough that it was on pinpointed target for the area around the 3 druids. He had added the usage of [Death Stinger] in order to give them some damage over time. He wasn’t sure if there were ever time limits to poisons, but being able to combine two skills was what he was good at. This would ensure the three of them getting hit (most likely) and getting poisoned if they got hit.
“It’s best to yield when you can, Sir Druids. I don’t believe you’ll survive long with poison in your system now,” he would say, unsure if the druids would understand his non-Gaelic language. It would definitely prove to be a pain to deal with, now that their health would continue to be sapped as fought.
Oh screw this. Cicero turned right the heck around and walked straight back to Caesar. The pale-faced individual hiked straight through the forest and cut his way around the druids, making sure to avoid setting them off or whatever. If he was off having his own adventure, then he had to make sure not to interfere with the three protagonists and their wonderful fight. Cicero and Caesar were protags too darnit but whatever. At any rate, in no time at all and a rather familiar and repeated use of Blink, Cicero was standing in front of Caesar. "General. Status report. No monster spawns, no mobs, and if you go too far in one direction, you can't go any further." Most normal people would probably take that to mean the world telling them to bugger off and actually participate in the plot. Not Cicero/Scoria. The towering player stood tall, all 120 levels of dps hanging out inside his sleeves. He stared down at Caesar, then offered his hand and nodded firmly. "Let's go on an adventure. For you see..."And in fact it was. Cicero just stared at Caesar with one of his "you're gonna do this" looks before raising his fist in an uncharacteristic gesture, then walking straight back into the forest. They were going on an adventure and that was final. Cicero had already seen what the world was like so far into the past, but he kind of wanted to see what other areas were like. Like the forest and stuff. If they weren't going to get any storyline bonuses from him being super hecka awesome, then the only thing to do was to go find themselves a storyline elsewhere. Away from those regular protagonist jerks. Screw those guys. He'd find himself a special cave or something that had collapsed between 'now' and the future (that was really the present?) and then go investigate it back in the real world. Yeah! And he wouldn't invite... okay yeah no he'd end up inviting both Caerbannog, and Kumori followed Caerbannog, so that was out. Still. They'd investigate things and stuff. Cicero marched through the forest, keeping himself from using Blink nearly as often and instead just glancing back at Caesar. Maybe that guy would start a conversation. Maybe not. Scoria wanted to climb a tree now. He was going to go climb a tree soon. Or a hill or mountain or something. Yeah that'd be hecka sweet. [ Shepard Dagon Kumori @dindeen @0x1dea ]
Caesar watched the battle rage on from where he sulked, watching his three party members take on the their opponents.
What's the point of doing a super special quest if you don't even get to do anything fun?
Ohhey, it's Cicero-Scoria-Alv Person. What's he doing back here? Didn't have some super special awesome side quest he was going to do? Oh, status report because apparently he was a general. If that was the case, then where were his armies for him to command? In his sleevies.
Caesar/Ox nodded his head after hearing the Alv's report, making a mental note that the actual Alv race existed in this time and somehow tied in with storyline events that he was not too entirely familiar with. Then the 120 level DPS man surprised the level 120 tank general with the request of joining him on an adventure. Finally, something to do other than watch other people having fun.
Caesar dusted himself and pulled his annoyingly long hair out of his face, spitting a couple of times to rid his tongue of the stray strands that insisted on residing in his mouth. He made sure to hurry so he didn't lose sight of the towering Oracle tactician in the trees of the forest he had managed to duck into. Caesar called out to him as they made their way through the trees.
"So, anything certain in mind? Or are we wandering around until we find something of interest?"
Caesar brandished his meancing two-handed greatsword, eyeing up the trees as if they would be good test subjects to try this sword out on. The urge to suddenly become a lumberjack rose exponentially, but then again, the druids of the land might not take too kindly to such a gesture. You know, since they're 'one with nature' and all that. The last thing the party of adventurers needed was a mob of angry Druids and/or a possible Ent uprising.
After much fighting and much duress taken by both sides, Caesar and Cicero destroying all of the ents that were attempting to fight the currently occupied druids, the druids and the advance party had stopped their quarrel to see that the ents were beginning to invade. Knowing that this was much more important due to the massive size of the ents and the amount of destruction they could cause on their own, the party would decide to fight alongside the druids. “In order for us to end our differences, let us bring together our forces and destroy the oncoming ents… they will prove to be our end should we continue to bicker and fight amongst ourselves. Peace can be had, so let us make peace now… let us unite against a common enemy…” These were true words of a diplomat and a leader. The ents had shown themselves at an opportune time, but such opportune times were not always beneficial for the aggressors. Had the two parties still been separated, the ents would’ve had an easier time destroying the groups separately, but now that they had united against them during a time of peace, they would bolster each other up.
“Company! ON ME!” Caesar yelled out towards his companions. The legionnaire, brawler and arcanist retreated from their positions, regrouping with their leader. As much as the legionnaire hated listening to his shorter and uglier brother, he knew he was a better strategist than he. “Lucan… message the Gaelic elders and tell them that we will take the north and west flanks. They should take the south and east flanks. Tell them that this is the proof of our willingness to cooperate with them. We will not let them become annihilated.” the general ordered. The arcanist sent a telepathic message to the Gaelic elder and so the terms were agreed upon. It seemed that the party of five, while small in number, were each strong enough to be an army on their own, however now everyone would see why they were revered. Even as strong as they were individually, they were even stronger as a team.
“I think it is time… falling star formation!” he said. The team had fought together enough. It was almost second nature when the words reverberated around them. The general took point while the brawler and legionnaire stood right behind him. It was a staggered entry formation, so it was the general’s move first.
The armored knight moved forth. Don’t let his heavy armor fool you, as he was much more dexterous than the normal assassin would be. His movements were concise. Each step was used to dodge and force chaos within the ranks of the ents, but what he needed to do was keep the attention on all of the ents. He used [Anchor Howl] in order to keep each of the ents close to him, and should they attempt to leave his radius, they would be punished. Because of the ents intelligence and quick learning, they turned towards the general and would begin to fight their way towards him, but he wasn’t that foolish.
As soon as they began to converge on his position, the general jumped up. His strength allowed him to jump way above the ents, which would give an opening to the casters. The cleric casted [Righteous Exile] which would keep the ents from moving too much, which would allow maximum output of damage by the other caster. The oracle began casting [Frigid Wind] in order to do the maximum amount of damage to the ents that were caught in the net of the five. As the magic area of effect damage was happening, the brawler jumped up to catch the now falling general, in order to keep him out of the area of effect.
The general thanked the brawler who bowed to her leader. She turned towards the group of ents and waited for the storm to calm. After it did, the brawler smiled. “Time to kill! I’m gonna punch them to death!” she said in glee. With [Incarnated Assault] and the movement of the fists, it became apparent why a bardic monk was useful. [Aggression Orchestra] was used first and then at the end of her assault, she used [Sonic Hammer] to take down even more of their enemies. As soon as the brawler battered through, it was now the legionnaire’s turn. He ran to the middle of the group of ents and used [Shuffle Windmill] with the addition of [Deadly Dance] and [Accel Dance] the assassin’s damage per second increased drastically. He began destroying the little HP the group of ents had left.
After all of the combo play, the group finished off the rest of their opponents, calling out who had what, Lucan leading the charge. Finally, with the end of the battle and the retreat of the ents, the number of ents had been greatly reduced. It was not necessary to drive them to their extinction, but it was necessary to show them that they were a threat and should not be attacked lightly.
After the end of the battle, the druid elders met with Caesar and Cicero to discuss the terms. After a long heated discussion of what could be given and what couldn’t and how peace would be made, they came to an agreement. The druids would then allow them to do what they needed to do.
Cicero approached the runes and inspected them. It seemed that this was the source of their problems, the source of the plight. The arcanist took each rune and rewrote them so that they would have the intended effect of preservation that the druids sought, but did not have the harmful effects that it was causing everyone around them. As the runes changed, everything began to clear. The weather began to clear and the darkness began to brighten. The entirety of Eorzea Elder Tales had changed into peaceful. The newfound peace between the druids and the People of the Land were showing fruit after only a 45 minute discussion with battle and the such.
With that, Caesar shook the elder’s hand, and paintings were drawn of this moment. The peaceful resolution between the two parties.
