The road back to Londenium was nicer and happier than the wolf-hair remembered. She had boarded a merchant’s cart alongside Scoria and his baby, and the druid glared all the way back to the city of course. Now, that is of no consequence to the samurai who, although she saw the not-so-nice glare often minded it not. To each his own and if Scoria glared at her, there was probably a reason. Never you mind that he was mean to landers or rather used, or abused, his Courtesan skills on them. All that mattered to Caerbannog was that the druid told her his last name, which was a sign of a more personal level of acquaintanceship, perhaps ‘friendship’; and that she had the cute forest sprite in her arms. All the way to the city, the girl and the sprite, who lovingly called her ‘Auntie’, giggled and laughed at their own jokes. If Scoria only knew how the samurai spent her day, he’d notice that it was quite uncharacteristic of her to laugh out loud. She mostly had negative feelings such as frowning or bawling, but laughter was something that she reserved only for those whom she felt very close to. The forest sprite was among those, shall we say, ‘special persons’. So understandably, the samurai was downcast when they reached the city and seemingly had to part ways. Scoria went off to wherever he was going and the Alraune... well, the little one followed Caerbannog. “ Eee? Baby? “ the wolf-hair picked the child up and held the little one in her arms., “ Did Hourai-san leave you behind? “The forest sprite merely responded with a gentle coo and a pat to the samurai’s cheeks, so Caerbannog looked around for the druid but he was nowhere to be found. She called up Scoria and said ‘I have your baby!’ but not much else. It would have sounded like a demand for ransom but eh. So anyway, the sun was almost setting and so the wolf-hair thought it best to take shelter and rest for the night, or until Scoria responded. Caerbannog soon found herself in front of the Aeryn Guild House. She put the baby down, knocked on the door (so that she would not seem so rude) and then she opened the door and entered the house. “ Huh? “ the samurai suddenly stopped on her tracks. She turned around and noticed that the forest sprite hesitant to walk inside. Caerbannog turned to the baby and assured her that she was welcome, and at that she picked up the cutie and carried her into the guild house. She was sure that the forest sprite would love her cave and soon she opened the door to her bedroom- but when the sprite hopped down and tried to run towards the mountain of plushies, it was stuck in place due to an invisible force. Caerbannog’s room was locked out to non-guild members, and the Alraune’s summoner definitely was not a member of Aeryn. “ It’s okay, cutie, “ the girl sat down on the floor dressed in her black yukata which stuck to places and was generally just a mess due to Scoria’s Call of Storm, “ Let’s wait for Ryuu-oniichan! He’ll let you in! “The pair cuddled up beside the bedroom door and soon fell asleep right there in the hallway. OOC Notes: For Scoria: No need to reply at the moment. Just wanted to show this to you. | Skills: Tags: | : Word Count : 0493 OOC Notes: Quick Slot: Windsor Antiqua Throwing Knives | Ryuu was on his way back from Sarum. He was sweating, tired, and simply exhausted from the trip. He took a swig of water from his canteen and then ate one of the nuggets that Kyuu had made him. He ate them on his way via merchant cart, much like Caerbannog, but he had left a lot later than her. He was facing a huge mob and stopping the advance of golems that had recently begun appearing much more often than before. It had taken him several hours longer than he had expected in order to clear the waves and to return his group safely without any casualties. As he said his goodbyes to his party members and disbanded the party, Ryuu jumped off the cart and headed towards the end of the road where he saw a vendor selling some baked goods. He took a taste test and realized that it was pretty amazing Taiyaki. It was red bean flavored, and something he had gotten whenever he went to the Asian markets in the UK. The fish shaped pastry, typical in pretty much all slice-of-life animes involving a female protagonist, was nice, warm, and gooey and each and every bite was savored by the male protagonist of this current story, but he would give some to the female protagonist as soon as he went to her. The map showed she was in the guild house… in the hallway right outside of her room. Ryuu scratched his head, but shrugged as he nonchalantly walked towards the guild house.
As he entered, he walked over to Kyuu and noticed that something was in her arms. He would have thought it was Hrairoo, but because of its green complexion, Ryuu knew who exactly it was. It was Scoria’s Forest Slyph who had taken an unusual liking to her. Well, unusual wasn’t the right word. Expected was more true than unusual since he didn’t think anyone could stand that man’s glare anyway. (Seriously, glare at yourself in the mirror). Ryuu sighed as he could probably figure out what he wanted him to do. He wondered if he could let certain pets and summons into the room instead of the player. Sifting through the menus, it seemed that he could add the pet only. Since it had a name, he could type it in and it’d be allowed. Ah well, he’d do that after Kyuu gave a convincing argument as to why he should allow the Slyph in anyways. He woke her up, pointed at the sylph and as her: “Sooo… why do you have her here?” he asked trying to figure out why his guild house was about to be invaded by a summon of someone that he hadn’t seen eye to eye with since they first met. He eyed it carefully and then looked back at the girl who brought here here. “So… I guess I should ask… why are you outside of your room?”

About half an hour passed since the samurai and the sprite arrived in the guild house of Aeryn. By that time, they were both sound sleep in what seemed to be an awkward position but the pair was actually rather comfortable, perhaps only owing to the fact that they were in each other’s arms. The Alraune had her reasons; similarly, Kyuu had her reasons as well. In a world that was detached from the one which she knew all her life, the blue-eyed one searched for a replacement for her old life. Within the game she felt more powerful; literally, she was what with all her levels; figuratively, she felt that she had control over her path, most scenarios could be calculated even with a human factor. Still, with whatever she had, the samurai Caerbannog oftentimes felt rather empty. She wanted someone that she could laugh with and cry with, the latter much to Scoria’s annoyance.
Kyuu was so rudely woken up by a familiar face and voice. A question came and it asked her about ‘something’ here. The samurai looked down at the forest sprite which was still asleep and had rested its little head upon the adventurer’s chest. The girl did not have the heart to wake her up, so she gestured for Ryuu to sit down or come closer so that she would not have to speak too loud. It was then that she noticed his taiyaki; her right hand held the baby sprite in place while her left hand pointed at the snack which their guild leader possessed. Before he could react to that though, the girl was already answering his question with a very controlled, hushed voice.
“ Baby is here because I like baby, and baby likes me, “ the samurai looked at the little one and nuzzled its pretty hair.
The wolf-hair then glanced towards Ryuu’s direction; if he’d given her some of the snack at that point, she’d take a bite out of it already otherwise she’d pout at the mean oniichan. In any case, she still had to answer his other question.
“ Baby can’t go in cave, locked out, “ Kyuu explained, “ So I stay with baby. “
As for the forest sprite, in its sleep it managed to grab onto the wolf-hair’s left sleeve and she tugged at it to turn Kyuu’s arm to a small blankie. Not that the girl would even mind such a thing though. As long as the baby was happy, then Kyuu was also happy.

| Skills: Tags: | : Word Count : 0295 OOC Notes: Quick Slot: Windsor Antiqua Throwing Knives | Ryuu inched closer at Caerbannog’s beckoning. He leaned in and then noticed that she pointed at his taiyaki. He sighed as he tilted his hand forward so that the part he bit was now facing the samurai. She was going to take a bite, probably a large one at that. It was inevitable, and he probably should have known that Kyuu would want one. After she took her bite, she explained to her what was going on. She explained why the summon was here and well, for whatever reason, any of Scoria’s summoned seemed to be attached to anyone other than Scoria. As he opened his Guild House options, he finally placed a few options and parameters in the settings. It’d allow Scoria’s familiars into her room, but not Scoria himself. He would’ve snickered a bit at Scoria’s inability to access what his sprite could, but then again, that sprite was limited to being allowed in Kyuu’s room.
“She can go into your room, but that’s it,” he stated as he observed the two interact. It was like Kyuu really found a baby. How does she know how to take care of children, when she is one herself, he thought to himself. He shrugged and opened the door for them. “I really hope you know what you’re doing. You’re responsible for its actions and whereabouts. Try not to allow it to wreak havoc on our home. I wouldn’t like to see our guild house trashed when I wake up or come back from somewhere. Also.. can you remember to pick up after Hrairoo? I keep seeing some pellets when I walk around…” he said. That rabbit was becoming somewhat of a nuisance. With no housekeeper, it became a real pain to pick up after him.

To some, it might have been a surprise that Ryuu was being not so strict and instead was being exceedingly generous to the wolf-hair, but anyone who knew them outside of the game would recall that ‘oniichan’ almost always gave in to what Kyuu wanted. Unless it was something really detrimental to either one of them, then he’d just let the issue go. He’d probably give her the clothes off his back if she asked him, or even if she didn’t. Case in point, after the girl took a bite out of the taiyaki, there was barely anything left for him to eat; serves him right for not buying one for the samurai.
Other guild leaders would probably be hesitant to let familiars of strangers into their guild house and for valid reasons too. The Alraune, for example, could slow everyone down or paralyze them and do unmentionable things to them. Kumori let her into Caerbannog’s room though with nothing but a warning to the girl. Apparently, he also let a frenmic rabbit roam the house. Oh, if guild contacts and prospective members knew about that, what would they think? They would either see that as a testament to how accommodating the assassin was, or that he was a slacker or a pushover.
Also, if Kyuu was still the same Kyuu whom Ryuu knew from the real world, she would have probably not cared at all for his warnings. Ryuu-oniichan was always there to back her up in times of trouble anyway, was what the old Kyuu would’ve thought. But sixty levels was not just a number and the changes to the girl’s being did not stop at skills and stats alone. Kyuu actually sat up straight and listened to her guild leader’s requirements of her in exchange for his allowing the forest sprite to enter the wolf-hair’s room.
“ I won’t let Roo out of my sight again! “ Kyuu nodded and then she stood up, albeit slightly disbalanced by the weight of the toddler in her arms, “ And I will watch this cutie too! “
The samurai would have saluted too if her arms were not so preoccupied with keeping the sprite in place. Once the girl was on her feet, she entered the bedroom and was delighted to find that the Alraune was not rejected by a magical barrier. She set the little one down inside The Cave and pulled out her Kuromi plushie which she tucked into the sprite’s arms. The baby cooed gently as it nuzzled the toy and continued to sleep, understandably it was tired from a whole day of traveling and doing things at Sarum. Though it was early evening and the wolf-hair looked quite like a mess from her journey to the new frontier, she skipped up to Ryuu and saluted him, though awkwardly.
“ Sir! I’ll help with guild work! “ she said, “ Because Ryuu was nice to the baby. Sir! “

| Skills: Tags: | : Word Count : 0343 OOC Notes: Quick Slot: Windsor Antiqua Throwing Knives | Ryuu nodded skeptically at the samurai as she said she wouldn’t let Hrairoo out of her site and as she said the same about Alarune. It wasn’t the first time he had heard these promises, and it probably wouldn’t be the last time either, but he sighed. If anything, Kyuu got away with a lot of things she did or didn’t do. As he looked at the reast of the Taiyaki, she had eaten all the filling and left the tail end of it for him. He sighed as he stuck the small bit into his mouth and chewed the remainder of the sweet bread that was used to cover the red bean paste. When he told her of his requirements, he was surprised, however, to see that she listened intently. Her back was straight and her demeanor was of serious attitude. He scratched his head and nodded as she said she wouldn’t let Hrairoo out of her site. It was even more surprising that she had called him “sir” instead of Onii-chan. He scratched his head even more trying to figure out if there was more to it than that or if she did something wrong and wanted to make up for it.
“Are you okay?” he asked her, trying to find out why she was acting the way she was. It was obvious she wasn’t sure how to salute the leader, and because he never considered himself to be a person lording over his guild, he never expected any salutes of that kind either. He pushed Kyuu into her room and shook his head. “I think you need sleep… get some rest,” he said, suspecting the journey had taken a few more hours of sleep than anticipated, and so she was somewhat acting out of her normal character. “Sometimes you weird me out,” he said while sighing as he went back towards his office to do more papers for the guild and probably have rest for himself. Before he turned to leave, however, he did ask her: “Anything else you need?”

The blue-eyed samurai just looked at her guild leader as he spoke; she waited for instructions or a request, but there came none. To think that she would forego a nice rest with the baby to help him out with guild work... was she just rejected? Why? The ‘weird’ comment was weird too. She did not answer any of his questions and instead ran off somewhere to clean herself up. Her yukata felt really icky due to the dust and dirt from Sarum which stuck to it after a mysterious period of rainfall. After five minutes, she was done and ready for a peaceful night’s rest, but the wolf-hair detoured towards the guild leader’s office instead.
As far as she knew, that place was open for all since it was the venue for most guild-related transactions. Kyuu poked her head through the door and remained quiet as she stepped in. There still seemed to be a lot of paperwork left for the assassin to do. She had no idea where to start so she didn’t prod anything, but instead seated herself in front of the leader’s table. In a bit more typical Kyuu fashion, she stretched her arms over Ryuu’s work area and rested her upper body upon the table and its contents.
“ Whatchu mean weird? “ she asked him, “ I just wanted to help... “
At the moment, she was not helping at all but the girl figured that hey, if she couldn’t do it (the paperwork) then no one can! Really though, she was just curious about all the things that oniichan said.

| Skills: Tags: | : Word Count : 0379 OOC Notes: Quick Slot: Windsor Antiqua Throwing Knives | Ryuu went back out as Kyuu got ready for bed and went to go get more Taiyaki, since his last one was mostly eaten. This time he bought 4 of them so that Kyuu would be satisfied with at least one, and the other two, if they were left, could go to any of the other guild members that were in the house. Come to think of it, buying dozens was probably the best option, so he turned back around and went to go get two dozen of them so he didn’t have to hear about it later from the member who didn’t get one. As he walked back, he didn’t expect anyone to be in his office, so he brought the fish-shaped pastry into his office, only to see Kyuu sitting on his chair, her head on his desk. He looked at Kyuu and then scanned the entirety of the room as if someone was there in waiting for him to appear and to scare the willies out of Ryuu, but he saw nothing of the sort. He stepped forward and then went towards the desk and placed one of the pastries next to her head where her eyes were facing. “I’m pretty sure that one ‘bite’ wasn’t enough, so here’s another,” he said to her as he took another one out for himself and began chewing at it.
“So… why are you here?” he asked her. It wasn’t often that he found her sleeping or resting in his office when her room was literally 30 seconds away from here. He then took a few papers out of his stack and scanned over them as he read what business had to be signed and what budgets he needed to manage. Managing the guild was not easy, but he found the time to do it, even if he was still a lower level than Kyuu. He’d blame it on his guild duties, but sometimes he just got lazy. “If you really want to help me, then I have some things you can do… but I’m not sure if you’d like it. It contains math,” he said as he placed the papers back down onto the stack and grabbed a few pens from his drawer, to the right of Kyuu.

Slightly disappointed when she noticed that the guild leader was not in his office, Kyuu cheered up when he walked in and brought some taiyaki for her too. The samurai sat up straight, took the offered food and greedily ate it while trying to say “itadakimasu” between each bite. She watched the assassin as he pulled out some paperwork and seemed to be getting ready for his guild duties. Once Ryuu asked her if she’d like to help, the wolf-hair nodded enthusiastically. She finished off the taiyaki and hastily wiped her face with the front part of her shirt, excited to actually do something for the guild. At least then she wouldn’t feel so useless; did she have to take down notes? Summarize things? Make reports?
“ Eeeeeee? “ Kyuu whined at the mention of math. She thought about backing off and making excuses to get out of that kind of work, but proper adults don’t run away from their obligations, right? So she stayed in her seat albeit a bit fidgety, “ I guess I could try... “
She hoped that it only involved basic math, like adding numbers and comparing totals; accounting stuff. If it involved statistics though, her head might explode. Either way Kyuu would not bail on the job, perhaps she’d fall asleep halfway but that could be determined later on based on what the paperwork contained, but definitely she would not back off. Ryuu had been working to get the guild up and running for a while so she might as well pitch in too.
“ So what should I do? “ the wolf-hair asked with a bit less apprehension in her voice. She still fidgeted in her seat though as if she was suddenly surrounded by a room full of cockroaches.

| Skills: Tags: | : Word Count : 0640 OOC Notes: Quick Slot: Windsor Antiqua Throwing Knives | Her reaction was priceless. At the mere mention of math, he had elicited the very reaction he was hoping for. He was actually surprised that she wished to stay, even though she hated math. Ryuu smiled and took a few pages out of his tack and he placed it in front of her. “Read through these and summarize the notes. They should be applications for our guild. You’re to go through them and place a check mark or an x mark in order to tell me whether they should be added,” he said to her giving her a red pen. “No math… I know you hate it, but your willingness to help makes me happy, even if you hate the subject,” he smiled at her, giving her a nod of approval and satisfaction. The samurai had grown so much over the past few weeks, it was an amazing site to see. He was glad, though, that she would finally be able to live on her own if he was no longer there to take care of her for some reason or another. Were he to leave and venture out on his own, or some other thing like that. It seemed he no longer had to worry about her well-being. She was a higher level than he was, so he could now assume that she would be able to take care of herself, but he wouldn’t make her do it outright, no, he’d do it gradually, giving her tasks that required gradual maturity.
While the task he gave her were menial, they were important. He also wouldn’t assign her that job unless he knew she could handle it. Her ability to discern good from bad was far better than his own. She had often times rejected many of his girlfriends that he had had in college. It was sad, but he often did trust her judgment because she was mostly right. It was just like his judgment of his other friend’s boyfriends. Same thing, but boys. Well, anyways. Back to what was at hand. As Kyuu went through the several guild applications, Ryuu began taking several sheets of paper from the pile and began compiling a list of items that were purchased, used, and rented, organizing them into stacks for Sarum expedition quests and other quests. Most of the time, he was able to budget it to be paid for by the city, but for a select few, it came out of the guild’s pockets. Because they had no sponsors and no way of having a sustainable income at the moment, they had to rely on their quests and completion thereof. They had gotten plenty of gold, but not enough to sustain their operations. Their crafting was not consistent either. They crafted when asked, and many times were private requests. It never became a guild request, and therefore the guild never got commission. Ryuu used all of his private requests as means to fund the guild. He took a 10% cut, but the rest of the proceeds went to aid them. He sighed and scratched his head, trying to figure out where the next bit of food was going to come from. He didn’t like having Kyuu cook all the time, even though it was cheaper. He shuffled the papers around and then proceeded in calculating the debt he had accrued.
After writing several different sheets, wishing he had an excel sheet and a computer to put all of these numbers in instead of doing all of this by hand, even wishing he had a simple calculator so he didn’t have to add everything in his head or by hand, any type of counting tool would help. “I need an abacus…” he said. He looked at Kyuu and then looked at his papers. “Know anyone who can make me an abacus?”

| StatusHigh on taiyaki. OOC Notes--- Having to tally and compute things was one of the most hateful activities for Kyuu. For every math subject that she had to take in college, the girl died a little inside. Back then, it was necessary so she just went through the motions and tried to get a reasonable grade to keep her average up. After every semester, she’d forget everything that she learned and so got in a bit of trouble when she had to review. Ryuu was the opposite; he seemed to actually love anything that involved math. Whenever Kyuu could not grasp a mathematical concept, she’d rely on her friend’s help.
The samurai had a horrid frown on her face as she waited for the guild leader’s instructions. The taiyaki that she just ate was absolutely delicious but Kyuu already forgot all about that upon the mention of math. If it was just one or two problems, she thought that maybe she’d survive but the guild leader’s table was full of documents... how much of that would she have to work on? It turned out that her worry was all for naught, however; Ryuu just gave her some guild applications to read through. That was much easier to tend to and would not involve confusing numbers.
Caerbannog’s expression turned from sour to happy when the papers were given to her. Was it some underhanded ploy used by Ryuu to make the samurai actually enjoy her guild work? Perhaps it was; either way, it worked. She was given about twenty applications to work on and they seemed simple enough to read through. The first one was a dwarf. Rejected, because dwarf. The second one was an elven summoner; Kyuu doodled a cat face on the upper right corner of the application. The samurai breezed through the stack of paperwork as if it was her homework. The good thing about that was that she did not complain as she read through each application, just like when she read through her homework. The bad thing about that was that she only took it half-seriously. Five of the applications ended up with doodles, one had a massive X (the dwarf’s) but the rest did have relevant comments and guild-related suggestions.
Once she was done, the girl turned to Ryuu, handed the paperwork over to him and she smiled widely while waiting for him to check what she’d done. The first few applications were the properly evaluated ones, but around the middle, the assassin would eventually come across the doodled and cross-marked papers. Kyuu hopped over to the guild leader’s right side and looked at whatever he was also looking at. She actually did expect him to say that she did a good job and was rather unaware that scribbling unicorns and palm trees on guild applications did not qualify as ‘documentation’.

| Skills: Tags: | : Word Count : 0514 OOC Notes: Quick Slot: Windsor Antiqua Throwing Knives | Ryuu took the papers that Kyuu had given him after Ryuu had finished his first list of budgets and noticed they were well in the black. He let out a sigh of relief, as he didn’t expect that turn out. He was expecting to be well in the red with the allotted amount of gold he had put in that area of the guild. His ability to know what it meant to live like he had no money and how to manage a business were coming to fruition. Doing things himself had led to the greatest usage of the guild’s resources. Being able to gather materials instead of buy materials was what saved the most money. His hunting skills were put to use as well. This was becoming like any MMORPG, a daily grind. Just like in another game where they would hunt for the mythical Atmas that seldom appeared. The grind was real, and the grind was like any other life. Without it, there were never rewards, and so he would treat this world like reality. To work hard and diligently until it was self-sustaining. Ryuu didn’t mind the work, so long as it ended the way he wanted it to end.
Kyuu interrupted him and handed him the 10 applications she gave him. The first few he looked at it and almost burst out laughing. The doodles of unicorns and trees and all the various drawings made him tear up because of how funny it was. Finally, after getting through the first four, he finally got to the sensible responses to the guild applications. He handed the first give back to her and said: “Re-do these ones, but good job on the other ones,” he said. Typical Kyuu with her typical warm-up phase of doing work. She tended to do this when he worked with her on her math. Her first 9 problems she did, she would doodle and just circle things. Since applications took a bit more thought that math problems, 5 of them as about the right amount for her to fool around with. He then handed another stack of 10 applications and told her to go through them. He then picked from another stack and gave 10 pages to her as well. It was a report on Sarum and the progress that had been made so far. He decided it was something more pertinent to her, and so she’d be more interested in it. It told about the general happenings, mentioning the exploits of several adventurers. It was unfortunate, that it took so long for such high-level characters to finish exploring an area. He sighed at the predicament, but he needed a summary of the report anyways.
He went back and continued working on the budget, hoping that his dear sister would be able to finish his requests without too much doodling. Then again, hoping for that was like hoping for a bird to not fly. It was inevitable, but at least he would get 70% completion. From the laws of math… it’ll eventually get to 100% completion… eventually…

| StatusThinking about Renai. OOC Notes--- Oniichan did not like the flowers and rainbows? Kyuu thought that they were pretty good drawings, so it was such a waste that she had to redo the whole application review process for those things. But at least they were just applications; at least she did not have to work with math. The samurai was not pleased with the additional work but she knew that if she did not do it, then Ryuu would have to work on all those things. The wolf-hair swiped the paperwork from the guild leader’s hands and sat herself down once again. Without looking up, she answered his previous question regarding something that had to be crafted.
“ The enchanters with us in Sarum... Capsule is pharmacist, “ Kyuu began, “ And Renai is woodcrafter. “
The girl then looked up at the assassin when she remembered that one incident. Ryuu had not been paying attention to the classes of certain people, particularly Renai, and had incurred the very polite wrath of the enchanter. Back then, the assassin grouped Renai up with himself and Stryke and referred to the young man as a melee player. It clearly did not sit well with the enchanter who was quick to correct Ryuu, but back then he was very polite about it. The samurai was not sure if Renai would be so accommodating if they met up again though.
Caerbannog mulled over that thought and wondered if she could commission the woodcrafter for Ryuu, or just direct the assassin to St.Pancras Station where most crafters were gathered anyway. Soon enough her mind drifted back to her work though and half of the applications were done in a few minutes. She could scan and skim paperwork quickly after all, a skill developed when she had to cram for a dozen exams. The girl put notes on top of the applications and only ended up with an acceptance rate of 30%. Most of the applicants wanted a guild that could regularly run through dungeons, but with just the two of them at high levels, that was not a promise that Kyuu could make. Other applicants did not even have a request or reason for wanting to join Aeryn so the girl rejected them. She hated fickle people.
“ Here, “ the wolf-hair put the finished stack of paperwork on Ryuu’s desk, “ Anything else? “

| Skills: Tags: | : Word Count : 0959 OOC Notes: Quick Slot: Windsor Antiqua Throwing Knives | Ryuu had to think about anything else that Kyuu could do. He began reading through the applications she had read through and they were a lot better. She had given him quality application reads. Noticing the applications were done correctly this time, Ryuu rewarded Kyuu with another Taiyaki. He had planned to save them for other guild members, but Ryuu was a bit selfish… and he wanted more. If someone walked in, he’d go get more later, but for now, he’d just share the bag with Kyuu while they worked together in his office. She then answered his question about the abacus. He needed woodcrafters, and she had provided him a possible person to create such thing. Ryuu looked at her and then thought of Renai whom she had mentioned. “Renai… hm? Maybe I’ll be able to make up for my misunderstanding from last time. I don’t think we got off on too wrong of a foot. It’s not like he’s Scoria,” he said. Scoria was impossible to appease and befriend. He had tried repairing the bridge to do so, but it seemed impossible. He would sigh, but he couldn’t help it if the other person refused to try and make amends. It wasn’t under his control, and so he would just leave it be. Should they team up again or do some other activity together again, Ryuu would attempt to mend their relationship, but other than that, he did nothing else to gain his favor.
Ryuu was reminded of the time they had spent time together in Sarum. Ryuu had crafted a few things for her there, and she asked him “Why F?”, which was directed at the stylized F that he had put on all the things he crafted as his signature. “Do you remember in Sarum, you asked me what ‘F’ stood for?” he asked. It was about time they took a break. They had been working for a few hours, since the applications, summaries, and most of the budgets were done. He collected himself, preparing for what he was about to recall. They were painful memories. He hadn’t cried about it, not since he had left for Germany 5 years ago. He needed to get away from his home at that point, and one of the reasons why he had decided to go to Germany and not any of the schools in England. He didn’t know the language then, but it helped him stop thinking of her… of Fuyu.
“It’s not a very happy story, so if you don’t want to hear it now, then we can do it another time. If you do, then I’ll share with you what F stands for, and why it means so much to me,” he stated to her. After getting her affirmative response, Ryuu would begin explaining.
“Oshiiro, Fuyu. I dedicated the memory of her into this world, because as I continue to craft for people, I am able to preserve her memory into each item I craft. It was a simple reminder for myself to remember and to keep myself humble. Even though no one would know why I made it an F, instead of a K or an R, to me, it was like spreading her kindness. She was 13 at the time… This was 5 years ago… 2014. She died on her birthday. December 5th. She’s the reason I moved to Germany for 4 years. After her death, I couldn’t help but blame myself. I had taken her out to get her ice cream, but a drunk had rammed straight into her side of the car. I left the car, scratched, bruised, and a few broken ribs, but Fuyu got the worst of it,” he said.
He wasn’t sure if he wanted to be too graphic about the details, if Kyuu would mind, but he did. He felt that the entire story needed to be heard. His perspective, his emotions, his everything. He began to envision that very day. The bloody mess that was right next to him. Fuyu was barely recognizable because of the wreckage. His crying for Fuyu: “Fuyu! Fuyuuuu!” was all that came out of his mouth, along with tears flowed out uncontrollably. He felt blood rise up into his mouth, and he was forced to spit it out, straight into the dashboard. The pain surging through his body, unable to really comprehend what had just happened, other than that Fuyu wasn’t saying anything. Fuyu was in worse shape than he. “Fuyu, Please answer me… Please don’t leave me!” were cries that went unanswered. “Someone help her! Someone! Anyone!” he cried out. He was looking for any type of salvation, any kind of miracle, but nothing. Crowds began to gather to see what had happened, sirens blaring, getting louder as they got closer.
What seemed to be hours had gone by, but truly it had only been a few minutes. Emergency personnel were on the scene, attempting to get him out of there, but Ryuu tried to persuade them to get his sister first. “Fuyu, my sister, help her first!” he cried out. The two teams of fire fighters had broken through each side of the car and had pulled Ryuu carefully out of the car. That was when he lost sight of his sister. All he heard was “She doesn’t have a pulse!” Ryuu’s heart sank further down. Before Ryuu could say anything more, he had passed out finally, due to the blood loss and the pain. His brain was beginning to put him into sleep mode, to avoid any further pain.
Ryuu stopped there. He looked up at Kyuu to see what her reaction would be. He looked at her and asked: “Should I continue? Do you have any questions?”

| StatusBrain dead. OOC Notes--- So doing guild work netted her some free food? Awesome! Kyuu hopped onto the chair in front of the guild leader’s desk as she ate, slowly this time, the delicious red-bean paste-filed pastry. The comparison between Renai and Scoria did not elude her though. She looked at the assassin and shot a disagreeing glare at him. “ I like Scoria, “ the wolf-hair simply said, “ His baby is nice. “Kyuu then went back to eating her taiyaki and merely nodded when Ryuu asked her about that one question during a venture into Sarum. Incoming story! Stories were great and she liked them very much, so the girl cheered up a little, sat farther into the chair and put her knees up close to her face as she continued to nibble on the pastry. The guild leader said that it was not a happy story but she thought hey, Grimms Tales, so how bad could it be? Well... it turned out to be very, very bad; ‘not a very happy story’ was the understatement of the year, she thought. By the end of Ryuu’s narrative, the girl wanted to look for a cliff, jump off of it and die of fall damage. And then she would like to do it again. -Not a very happy story- my ass. It was a great big tragedy and why the hell did Ryuu not tell her about it before, huh? Kyuu was just as confused as her RPer and that combination is -not- good, let me tell you. That combination usually made the RPer’s other RPC in a certain other site summon all her familiars and just lay waste to every cafeteria in sight. That, or she would cook. Oh and if she cooked something, really... SOMETHING would come out. Like crabcakes that actually walked like crabs, and eyeball soup that had blinking eyeballs. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s go back to Kyuu. So she sat there without moving for a while. The taiyaki was finished so she began to nibble on her fingertips. It was not enough to draw blood just yet but soon it would be. Questions? What in the world would she ask? Talking about someone’s dead sister wasn’t exactly the most icebreaking topic ever, if anything the conversation had gone as stiff and cold as the deceased girl. And so as she absent-mindedly nibble on her fingertips, Kyuu merely nodded at Ryuu. “ Continue, “ she said. Was she a masochist? WC: 415 || Code by Neun of ET. Artwork by Taamo. |

Well it was back to the story. She asked for him to continue, but he looked at her to make sure she was sure about continuing. He had only told her father about this, so he thought it’d be only fitting to let her know what had happened. In earnest, he needed to get it off his chest. The reason why he had gotten close, the reason why he treated her like a little sister. He had lost something, but he had gained it back. After talking about the general details as to not elongate the entirety of the story, Ryuu told her of after her death, what he was thinking of doing. “I think… the week before you sat next to me to play the game we played in class, I was fed up. I broke up with my most recent girlfriend at the time, and after losing her, I really wanted to die. There was nothing I could do to keep my mind off of it, and so I decided that by the end of that week, I would quit school and go travel, spending all that I had, eventually dying in a corner of the earth that no one knew about. I met you, and I was glad. You showed me something that I don’t think any other person could’ve showed me. You took me out of my darkness. The reason I’m telling you this is because, I wanted to thank you. I’ve had many times where I have delved into hell, but for some reason, you’ve been the voice that has drawn me back. The day I came back after my death… it was your voice that brought me out…” he said to her. Ryuu then thought of what he just said. He put up his hands and waved them opposite of each other. “Don’t get me wrong… you’re my sister. I do love you, but I would never pursue anything further… at least not on my own volition,” he said to her. He wasn’t trying to ship with her. Well, not in that way. They were practically family, which is why he felt that he could trust her with this secret. It was a secret only for the select few. Only those at home knew of his blight, and why he had moved to Germany.
“Thank you, Kyuu Scwarz… you’ve taken care of me, just as much as I have taken care of you,” he said to her smiling. Ryuu then offered another Taiyaki to her. “This is for listening to my emo-self come out. Don’t get too fat, okay?” he said to her jokingly.

| StatusConfused. OOC Notes--- Maybe it was a good thing that Ryuu kept it from her after all. Kyuu, who’d been used to hiding behind her books and in the world of her video games, did not know how to deal with such situations. She felt uneasy and awkward as if she’d throw up at any moment. The girl soon stopped biting her own skin when it began to hurt; at least it was a sign that she was still sane. She knew that she made weird expressions in such cases though, so Kyuu rested her chin on her knees and put her arms over most of her face leaving only her eyes and forehead visible.
The first part of his story slash flashback slash confession made Ryuu sound like a creepy stalker. Then again, all of Kyuu’s mishaps in life had not involved accidental deaths or breakups so her experiences were mostly different from his. The middle part sounded so emo, like that one guy who survived the massacre of his clan and thought that it was the most horrible thing ever until he was paired up with an obsessed fangirl and a ninja who for some reason thought that wearing bright orange would be a wise decision. And then that last part... Kyuu had mixed feelings about it. It made her want to punch a golem, mostly because she did not understand how she felt and violence seemed to always be the answer. Too bad they were in the guild house though.
What did he even mean by ‘not on my own volition’? Do love potions and mind control exist in Elder Tale? Was she that hateful? Also, he spelled her last name wrong. WRONG. Another taiyaki would probably really make her throw up at that point. Her face was pale and her mind was a bit blank; the fat comment even flew over her head. She pitied him and appreciated his kind words, but the way that he revealed everything was way too fast for her fragile brain that would short-circuit at the mere mention of -that- kind of love, even if he just meant to clarify things.
“ I... “ Kyuu sat up straight and her eyes darted about, “ Uh... I’m going to bed. Mata ne! “
The samurai then ran out of the guild leader’s office and dove into her Cave as soon as she got to it.
