Nothing is left at the end of the unchained me
Hyoka wandered out into the open field consisting of flat to rolling land. His aim for the day was to take down as many monsters as he could. The time of day was about early morning, 5am if he had to put a time to it. Having left early, he should be the first out on the field. Once out there, it was true. Finding where the slimes were mostly concentrated, he started with his business as he found a higher density of opponents. If he wanted to survive in this world as the solo player he was, he needed to know how to defeat each opponent in real battles. The easiest way to learn that was first hand experience. Summoning his skeleton whom he had named Bones temporarily, the closest slime immediately reacted to the use of magic and began sliding its way closer. Directing his summon, Hyoka let Bones start slashing its way to victory. Since it was already bones, there wasn't much left for the slime to dissolve. Still, as he watched, his summons health was going down, albeit slowly. The slimes in the surrounding area were around level 1 for the meantime.
After the slime was dealt with, Hyoka checked his summon's health to find it had lost about 10% when fighting alone. Checking his own mana, he was still alright for the meantime. He should be able to go at it for another two hours if he was conservative. Pulling out his grimoire, he cast the basic spell shot from it at a nearby slime, causing the three closest to be attracted, including the target. The other two were closer to the skeleton, so Hyoka had Bones act as a guardian, drawing the hate of the other two slimes as he himself began launching spell shots as quick as the system would allow. After five shots, the slime was at about 20% left and now within striking range. Running backwards while surveying the area to avoid running into enemies or obstacles, he kept up his weak barrage, eventually killing it.
Turning back to his skeleton, it had taken down one slime but had its own health reduced to 80% already, twice what a single slime did. It was to be expected, since facing multiple targets at one time usually had such an effect. Using his spell shot to help his skeleton finish off the last one, they finally took it down. Mana was at about 80%, health still fine. As for his skeleton, it had three quarters life left. Such an annoying thing being low level. Looking around to see what his magic had caused, he found that another five or so slimes had been attracted by the magic. it was going to be a long day. Taking a deep breath in and then out, Hyoka and Bones focused on one slime at a time, targeting the most isolated one to reduce the amount of hate gained from passive slimes and to pick them off.

“What the--“
The word died unspoken on her lips as the crowd of slimes that her little rock golem had been cleaning its teeth on slithered away. The golem gazed at departing the pack solemnly, before lumbering back to her side. This particular summon was like a puppy, without any of the cuteness.
The golem laid its head on her lap where she was sitting, slumped against the trunk of a tree. She petted it a few times, before pushing it away. Then she stood, using the tree as support. Her back creaked and ached some awful, and it was a chore to snap her curved spine straight.
Kumiho had been here since the previous night, and was exhausted in ways more than one. She was snippy, gritty, and bare hours away from levelling up. And her potions bag was feeling all too light. The next level was so close that she could taste it on her tongue, feel it in her jaws, sweet and salty like nectar and sweat, like relief and toil and and determination.
Then her prey had to disappear, drawn by flashes of magic and spells towards the other side of a patch of trees. At that moment when the spells fizzled through the leaves, irritation began to broil in her blood. Who drew her effing prey away? Who, so brave, so foolish, dared draw Kumiho’s prey away from her?
Without another word, she strode towards the source of the light, her pet golem following solemnly behind. Past a cluster of trees and into a clearing, until she saw the skeleton and the man.
“Who’re you?” Kumiho demanded. “What’re you doing here? I was killing those—“

Nothing is left at the end of the unchained me
Hyoka turned his direction towards the person who showed up in the middle of the battle to find someone unfamiliar looking like they were going to complain. Before they could finish, he cut them off and spoke his mind. 「I'm busy, if you have complaints then voice them later.」 Manipulating his HUD, he sent a party request as he ran around to avoid being encircled by the slimes. With the first of the five down, he moved on to the next with his skeleton following close. With every slime he took down, the closer he got to a more denser population of slimes around him. Taking on the next one with the help of his skeleton, there were now two engaged with his skeleton, one coming directly for him and another still a ways from Bones. Focusing on helping his skeleton, Hyoka kept running away from the one chasing him as he attack. As long as he stayed out of reach, he would be fine. His skeleton was a close quarters fighter, so he needed the support the most.
With a combined effort, another slime went down, leaving three two fight, all of them now focused on Bones. Letting his summon fight for itself, the best Hyoka could do was weaken them. With all three slimes engaged in combat with Bones, it was harder to attack them from a distance. Moving up closer while keeping an eyes on the surroundings, he resumed his attack in an attempt to prevent his summon being defeated so early. With only one left, he noticed that he had drawn the attention of three more slimes. 「Yeah, I should have gotten a different weapon...」 Saying this to himself more than anyone else, he watched his summon use its shield to bash a slime that had jumped towards it, sending it flying with no life left. He probably had a dozen or seconds until the next lot of slimes reached him. Thinking thus far, he looked at the terrain around him. Most of it was hard soil, or dirt. There were some stones and rocks at the nearby road, so that would do.
Moving towards the rocky road, he unsummoned Bones and cast his next spell, Summon Familiar - Golem. He decided the materials would be dirt/soil and rocks. The surrounding terrain began tearing apart as they gathered into the form a humanoid golem about 1m tall. It would be more durable than a skeleton, and its attacks should theoretically be stronger since it would just flatten slimes. Getting to work again, Hyoka positioned himself behind his golem who was in between him and the three incoming slimes. He would take a break for a while by not using spells to reduce the hate directed at him. Looking at his surroundings, there was one more slime approaching after making the golem, this one being a level two. Confirming he wasn't within hate range of other slimes, Hyoka began attacking again considering the new threat that was approaching him and Atlas.

Scoria's glaring expression was not loosened even when he was sleeping. The soft sounds of fighting had been ignored through the night, up until a certain duo made their presence unreasonably obnoxious. He had just wanted a little bit of peace in an area infested with slimes. As long as he didn't cast magic, they wouldn't care, and he didn't do much of that while he was asleep. He opened his eyes and blinked, glancing sideways at the horizon. Not quite that far into the morning yet, so what were people doing yelling...? He took a moment to glance at the situation underneath him. A golem and a skeleton meant... one summoner? No, two summoners. He could tell by how they positioned themselves and who was commanding whom (or what followed who), but that was more than enough of that. Alraune had wandered off at some point because she wanted to hang out with Caer, so that was where his familiar was off to. Hiding up in the tree, Scoria moved through the interface and checked the levels of both the participants. Kumiho and Hyouka, was it? When Hyouko sent his skeleton away and summoned a golem instead, Scoria almost groaned. Well, that settled what the main class skills of these players was. Kumiho was rather... fierce in how she seemed to claim slimes as her prey, but Hyouko wasn't any less unselfish. How obnoxious. Glaring from up in his tree, Scoria hopped down and landed softly, knowing that he wouldn't be able to maneuver the trees and make his way any closer. Instead, he just leaned against the nearest tree and observed the two summoners from right next to them. He didn't scoff or look down on them, only glared as he stared, seemingly weaponless. They both annoyed him, especially considering his sleep had been ruined, but they could handle slimes. He had simply gotten uncomfortable up in the tree, so he stood around and watched. Not even a cough to give away his presence, although the druid was naturally imposing. He was, after all, sharp-featured, cold-hearted, and constantly glaring. That, and he was a pretty high-leveled Courtesan. Surprise, newbies, the monster of London had shown up. [Tags: Kumiho Hyōka ]

It was early in the morning - perhaps a little too early, and Elk was up and about already. Sorrel was still asleep when she got up and dressed, choosing her lengthily named armor over her sets of vanity clothing. Anarchy Belt was more of a party outfit, and Kaga's Robes were better suited for Exorcist shenanigans. Reach for the Moon's uniform and black design was just what she needed. It was more in the everyday wear category, which she felt was appropriate for armor. Running around and fighting monsters in gaudy clothing was just...no. No. She would not put up with that. Besides - it was much easier to apply her accessories when her main outfit was black. Everything went well with that color.
Elkeid placed a note on the little werecat's face with a list of instructions when he woke up; the typical commands a parent would leave to their child. "Brush your teeth. Brush your face. Eat breakfast, bathe, etc." She looped her scarf around her shoulders and left the room without a backwards glance. Sorrel would (ideally) just be finishing up the written routine by the time she made it back. That kid caused so much trouble on his own that she worried about him. Cats only had nine lives, after all.
The Monk had not made any predetermined plans for the day. It had been a spur of the moment deal, one prompted by the urge to wander aimlessly about the city for a few hours. Dealing with Sorrel really cut into her alone time, so unless she could ditch him somewhere where he would not get himself killed (ahahahaha yeah right), she had to cope with his clinginess and incessant chatter. A quiet stroll, even if for only an hour or two, was quite refreshing.
It was no surprise to her at all when she found herself outside of London, and out in the dangerous world where monsters walked about like they owned things. Elkeid's fists clenched by her sides as she spotted a monster here or there. Nepent Snatchers were the main offenders, but they were a little too preoccupied with retreating from the pending assault of the morning sun to bother her. It would be foolish of them, anyway. Her level dwarfed theirs, so a solid punch or two should be more than enough to do them in. Elkeid glared at the plants, daring them to make a move towards her. There was some frustration she could only express via violence, and what better punching bags than these oversized weeds? Or perhaps she should find something stronger to sate her frustration?
That was until she found herself knee deep in slime territory. Whereas the nocturnal Nepent Snatchers were heading to bed, the slimes were gathering in droves. In the midst of them all were two low levelled Adventures, each toting about a little golem. The girl had yelled out something to the boy a few moments before. Elk figured it had something to with "kill stealing," something weaker players had to worry about. Well, if they were going to argue over who killed what...
There was one skill in Elk's arsenal that she had yet to use. This was Aura Dragon Punch, which she casually thrusted into a large cluster of slimes. BOOM. The slimes were sent reeling like bowling pins by the blast, the ones in the middle nearly incinerating upon impact. The outer slimes were lucky enough to only be singed at the edges, but their hp was low enough for Elk to crush them under her heel. It was funny. You'd think the slimes would be smart enough to avoid the thing trying to kill them, but more and more slimes slithered forward, all in awe of the ball of mana she had just fired at their brethren. How could she resist being generous? Another Aura Dragon Punch was tossed at the slimes. Oh. Ohh. Her eyes flashed. She gritted her teeth. He might have meant his words as a dismissal, but in Kumiho’s warped little mind, she heard scorn instead. It was a tone she could not stand for. Something was bubbling up the depths of her belly into her chest, a seeping pool of molten lava laying in pregnant wait. She breathed, opened her mouth—
And squashed her next words back down inside. Out pops a party invite. From him.
A breath, and another, as the area filled with the sounds of battle once more and her mind hummed with the songs of a different battle. Sometimes words that raged listen to me look at me don’t ignore me were useless. Sometimes actions spoke louder than words. Since he—Hyoka, the HUD out of the corner of her eye showed—was ever so kind to play bait to these monsters, than she would let him. Then she would thank him for being ever so kind with all the soured sarcasm she could master.
“Hmpff,” she snorted and clenched her fist.
A jerky directive, and Kumiho accepted the invitation. Her own rocky golem lumbered out into the field. She, with boots splayed with mud and the saccharine stench of rotted foliage, darted back and away to the trees at the edges of the field. Her golem joined the fray.
Moments later, she crouched at the sidelines, away from the center of the riot. She was hardly a close-ranged fighter. At the trees, she surveyed the battle, surveyed his and her—mostly her own, she could care less about his HP bar—status, and kept half an eye on the surroundings.
Bare moments later, flashes of light lit up the fields again, and this time it was not from the Hyoka who annoyed her so. The first, and then another, and when the lights cleared—

Oh look it was mawfuggin' Elkeid. Well, Scoria wouldn't have to deal with whatever she did for another two posts, since apparently the posting order was Hyouka, Elkeid, Kumiho, and then himself again. Whatever that meant. Something about four walls and structurally sound buildings. Well anyway he was basically being ignored since he was just standing around being a creeper by this tree, so maybe he should participate as well. Participate by making fun of Elkeid. That was the best thing to do. Well, the Aura Dragon Punch was impressive enough, so maybe he'd just casually... harass her from all the way by this tree. At any rate, the druid mostly just stood by the tree and waited for the opportune moment to harass the monk. How about now? Now was good. Yeah, right about now. It wasn't like he wasn't keeping an eye on Kumiho and Hyouka, what with their respective attitudes, but the glaring druid had a vendetta to settle. And by settle, he meant 'create'. Like so. Cure Bloom. Scoria wiggled his hand behind his back, then looked at Elkeid, raising an eyebrow. He was still glaring, of course. "Elkeid. I didn't know you liked your perfume that strong." The distinctive fragrance of flowers burst forth from Elkeid, a thin pink mist radiating from her. Oh my, oh my. "You must have slept well? You're practically sparkling." Heartbeat Healing. Well, she was sparkling now. Healing people to actually regenerate their health? Please, as if. More like "use these skills only to make Elkeid confused". He did like the smell of flowers though, so it overusing the first spell wasn't a problem. Well, he had spoken now, so he briefly and quietly nodded very slightly at both Hyouka and Kumiho. If they weren't looking at him, whatever. Cure Bloom. Oh my, Elkeid![Tags Hyōka Kumiho Elkeid ]

Nothing is left at the end of the unchained me
Seeing the other person jump into the fight, Hyoka clicked his tongue for no particular reason. Sure, he welcomed the help, but he felt this person was going to be a pain to deal with. With golem at his side, he pushed back the slimes around him as best he could, managing to take them down with every four or so shots. His golem was doing it in about two or three hits. Checking his HUD, he saw that the other person was named Kumiho, a level 1 summoner. Watching her health alongside his own, they seemed to be alright for now, but it would be a pain with an AoE spell. Upon thinking this, a massive surge of magic struck the area and wiped out a lot of the slimes, and damaging the rest. Looking in the direction of the caster, he saw a random female standing there, now with more slimes approaching because of the mana attraction. Checking his golem's health, it had dropped drastically due to the fact it was just within range of the spell. Friendly fire? No, this woman didn't care one bit.
At that point, he saw the spell being cast a second time, and he was in range this time. Dashing to get out of range, his golem made a makeshift wall out of its body to protect its summoner. Since it was a soil golem, it was regenerating at a fast pace, but it still wouldn't be enough to defend against the current spell. As the are of effect spell struck, the golem was reduced to a pile of soil while Hyoka stayed safe, his mana no longer being drained. That had struck a nerve, but everything in time. First off, he approached Kumiho, his temporary party member. 「So? What were you complaining about earlier? Seems like I troubled you. I'm sorry.」 On top of not sounding like he gave a damn, his apology was insincere to the max.
Not bothering to listen very much, he turned back to the woman who had interrupted. Upon seeing her, he noticed she had a glow to her. Those were from healing spells. He tilted his head as he wondered why she was being healed when she hadn't been injured. Then he noticed there was yet another stranger around who, by the look on his face, was familiar with the woman. It was at this point that the slimes began to respawn in high numbers, and the majority of them were attracted to the use of magic. To be even more annoying, it seemed that Hyoka had gotten closer to the boar territory as he realized that a family on young pittered boars had approached and seemed to be aggro'd. Maybe they had been woken up? There were four of them, two level 1's, one level 3 and one level 4. That would be a pain to deal with. Clicking his tongue, he checked his mana percentage as he summoned his skeleton familiar again. Time for battle.

Aura Dragon Punch apparently had a longer reach than she thought, for the boy's golem was affected when it wandered into the line of fire. 'Oops.' More like "gomen, not gomen". It wasn't like she had intentionally aimed for the thing, anyway. It was the slimes she was after. Speaking of slimes… The Monk moved nimbly out of the way of a lunging one, and sent it careening back with a swift kick. It was very much like kicking a large gelatinous ball. "Hmph." That sound of disapproval was more aimed at a familiar figure, who was watching this unfold from his place by a tree.
Seeing Scoria here was a bit of a surprise, and she immediately checked the ground for any signs of ice. The way the slimes moved with ease disapproved her suspicions, but she was still wary, especially when the man mentioned something about her perfume. ...Was it really that noticeable? She always made sure to be conservative with her fragrances, since too much was an annoyance to the person nearest - 'What the hell?' A pink mist enshrouded her body, while also giving off the scent of flowers. '...What…?' What was he doing now?
Elkeid was thoroughly confused by the harmless spells being used on her. If that was Scoria's intent, he had obviously succeeded. She wasn't injured, and she was certain that she was not in Scoria's top list of favorite people, so why? It was easier to think of Scoria as a weirdo than to dissect his reasoning. 'Definitely a weirdo.' Did he even heal people when they needed it?
She sniffed suspiciously at the pink mist, thankful that it was devoid of pollen. That would have sent her sneezing right away. Being made to smell like a flower field was not something she could abide by, though. Whatever. She would worry about this later, when a small horde of slimes weren't hassling her. The slime nearest to her received an axe kick to the face for its trouble, and was kicked back into its allies, causing them to tumble around with each other.
Like rabbits drawn to an unattended garden, slimes in higher quantity swarmed down to surround the Monk. Higher level + mana usage = thrice the trouble. Oh well. It wasn't like they could even do much to her. She waited for them to gather nice and close, before cocking back one fist and ramming it into the ground, resulting in the use of Tiger Echo Fist. A powerful shockwave rocked the ground and sent the slimes flying off in different directions. The lucky ones died from the blast, but the unlucky ones fell victim to Elk's use of Bullet Punch. Pew pew, mawfuggas.
A few of the slimes actually managed to hit her, but the damage was pitifully low and barely recognizable. She wasn't a squishy Enchanter, after all, and these were mostly level one or five monsters. The "threat" they posed was laughable, but she wasn't one for laughter. But just to mess with Scoria, Elk seized one of the slimes by its bulbous head, and flung it in the Druid's direction. It was only a level three slime; she wasn't going to throw a field boss after him mostly because there wasn't one nearby.
