Skill Heavy Anchor The day was hot and the smell of boiling sludge burned into the nostrils of the young Wolf-Hair, ‘this is disgusting…. What brought me to wonder into the middle of nowhere? , in this monster infested Thames no-less!’ the thought ran wild in Nari’s brain for a while, not aware of the danger up-ahead…
[Group of 5] Grimy Swamp Snail HP 100%/100% Level 4 Type: Aquatic
[Group of 4] Animated Sludge HP 100%/100% Level 5 Type: Artificial Life
Treading as carefully as he could in the steaming marshlands, he finally notices the group of snails and slimes before it’s too late he was about to aggro the Snails and Sludges, but the only thing he could of think was to hide behind two conveniently placed large rocks and quickly search around to find a way past the semi-large group of enemies, knowing he can’t win against such a big group he tries looking around, noticing that there is a little smoke clouds in the trees ahead.
Knowing he will aggro the semi-large group of enemies now behind him, he makes a break for it! While running to the smoke clouds he notices that there were several Possessed Stumps blocking the way.
[Group of 4] Possessed Stump HP 100%/100% Level 3 Type: Plant, Spirit
After having a chance of to look at them he knows he can take them on! Nari draws his glaive, and shields the clumps of mud there throwing at him, just when he gets close to two of them, he swings his glaive in a very wide horizontal line, hitting and defeating both (-50%HP to Possessed Stump Group) but in a cost of getting hit In the head by a couple of clumps of mud(-8%HP to Narihama) , ‘STINKS!’ he thought as he shakes his head like a dog that just got out of water, after the shaking of the head he resumes on charging at the rest of the Possessed Stumps, still using the tactic as before, and defeats the other two (-50%HP to Possessed Stump Group)(Possessed Stump Group is defeated), noticing that the semi-large group of monsters are drawing closer by the second he makes a final dash, not caring about the fuming mud that gets all over him as he hammers his feet down to reach where the smoke is…
“Please let there be someone that can aid me in getting rid of these monsters!” and thus with a Thundering Roar Nari leaps into the grassland-ish, dry and humid area to where the smoke is supposed to be…

With those three words, the atmosphere of the setting was perfectly described for Oxford's journey. No armor was equipped at this time, other than his treasured green shirt which was draped around his neck as he mucked through the woods.
"I should've gotten a Cooldown accessory or something. Don't know if it would actually cool me down, but never hurts to try."
His face glistened with sweat as he slogged through the muck commando style. His sword he carried in his hand, using it to poke at suspicious rocks or growths, making sure there weren't any unwanted visitors hiding in them as he walked along the marshes.
Jeez, what's a guy gotta do to find some info on a field boss location?
Then a curious sight fell upon Oxford's eyes. Waves of smoke were pouring out on the field in front of him.
"Is that a fire? In a swamp?!"
Extremely confused, Oxford wrapped his shirt scarf around his mouth and nostrils, using it as a makeshift filter so he wouldn't choke on the smog as he made his way into it. He walked faster when he heard the sound of a male voice yelling, wondering what on earth was capable of making that sound. Something squishy sounded out as he put his foot down, nearly causing the Guardian to fall into the nasty, stanky mud.
"Oh, hello. What're you doing here?"
He lifted his foot to see that he had stepped on an Animated Sludge, who had brought along a couple of friends as well. And by 'a couple', we're talking 'a couple shy of a dozen'. But they were all level 4s and 5s, whereas Oxford was, what, ten times that amount?
An Aura Saber later, the Sludge 'n Slime posse was eliminated, the smoke beginning to clear as he finally got a good look at the yelling monster challenger. Realizing that he was in the presence of another person, he took his shirt and put it back on, the fabric immediately clinging to him in this sticky heat.
The other adventurer appeared to be a Guardian as well, at least, according to the player's profile information. And a level 1 at that.
"What brings a low level Guardian such as yourself all the way out here to the swamps?"
It was odd, since most adventurers liked to start off with smaller fish to catch, like slaughtering some boars and rabbits in the woods instead facing the more feisty prey that resided in the swamps. Or maybe Oxford was the only one who did that. |

Skill Heavy Anchor “I’m lost…” the first words that came out of mouth were that, no sighs, no moaning about his armour covered in the boiling putrid mud of the swamplands, nothing of the sort. As it turns out, the smoke that Nari and this unknown fellow guardian were aiming towards was a very open and wide area that had several very big patches of grassland, and in the centre of it all was a big ‘campfire’ of the sort, almost looking like a giant has once sat on the earth the two guardians were on and started to have a late-night barbeque, “I’m Narihama *shakes hand with the fellow guardian*, I was lost when I was trying to get back to the little apartment I rented back in London, because of those “thorns” I got lost and just wondered since, I think I started to notice I was lost here around one to two days ago, I think” Nari really pondered on when he got lost and can’t seem to remember at all, *wrussle wrussle* the bushes went, glowing bright the yellow eyes are in the those said bushes…”I think we got company…” Nari proclaimed as he draws his glaive, ready for anything, he spots a very, very large group surrounding them, These little, green and weird-looking creatures start flowing out like a leaky tap, one by one they surround the two guardians:
Weak Goblin Scouts (group of 20): Level 1-5 Type: Subhuman Weakness/Resistance: Weak [Mind, Poison, Sleep]
Goblin Scouts (group of 15): Level 10-15 Type: Demihuman Weakness/Resistance: none
Heart beating rapidly and head wavering to try to get to grips on the situation, ‘this isn’t going to be an easy fight is it now huh?’ Nari thinks to himself, putting the case of how he got “lost” on hold, there are more than just his life is on the line, after having a peek at the other guardians level, he is sure he’ll take a lot of them out before he has a chance, knowing that, he still isn’t going to fall back and let him do all the work, yes he may be a higher level, but when it comes down to skill and creativity with weapon choices, Nari’s sure he’s on par with him even though he may have a wider skill set aswell, waiting for the words of his temp-associate and letting him give the call to of what or how they’ll play there cards…

Notes: 10 Weak Goblin Scouts gone, others at 50% health. 5 Goblin Scouts at 50% damage. | | Oxford listened solemnly to the other Guardian's story as his hand was suddenly shaken by the Wolf Hair. Seriously, was being a Wolf Hair the new cool thing on the block/server?
"Ah, I see...Well, my name's Oxford."
He turned back to face the source of the smoke: a campfire. It didn't look like the kind of campfire an adventurer would make. This one was haphazardly thrown together. Literally thrown together, as if some just threw some logs together in a pile and just lit the thing right then and there. No rocks to prevent a firespread. No signs of food being cooked either. Just random logs set on fire in the middle of a swamp.
A rustling in the bushes caused Oxford to straighten up, his battle senses on edge as the weird little lumps of creatures, known as goblins, began to trickle out of the bushes like gunk from an oozing sore. Some of them were carrying various wild animals that they managed to hunt.
"Boy, what a great troop of Boy Scouts we've got here. They didn't even leave one behind to watch their cooking fire."
As if on cue, a spark lept from the fire, catching some of the grass on fire. However, since their current location was in the middle of a swamp, the flames didn't spread too far before sputtering out.
Not wasting a moment, Oxford let out a yell as he activated Anchor Howl, pulling all of the mob's agro onto himself. The Wolf Hair wouldn't stand a chance if a group of goblins decided to zerg the lower-leveled player. Keeping that in mind, Oxford went ahead and decided to thin out the ranks, using a couple of Aura Sabers to wipe out some of the weaker gobs while injuring most of the higher leveled ones.
Might as well give the newbie a chance to bare his fangs as well. |

Skill Heavy Anchor Taking note of what Oxford did and drawing the goblins to him, Nari decides to do something interesting, he runs behind the guardian, and takes his platemail chest piece off and puts it back in his sack of ‘goodies’ and lays it on a match of land not covered in swamp mud, Nari now is bare chested and his tattoos showing, holding his glaive as people would hold a katana, he gets his posture strait and alien with the back of Oxfords, he breathes in and out a couple of times knowing this technique requires a clear mind, thus calm he ready’s his stance, closes his eyes and sprints, just when he reaches two feet away from Oxford, he opens his indigo and yellow eyes and leaps upon Oxfords shoulder and jumps again making sure the impact of his foot has not set in Oxfords shoulder, then while Nari’s above the pack of goblins he draws his glaive as he would with a katana, and with a quick arc his glaive slams into the ground blade first which has also slammed into five of the Weak Goblin Scouts killing them in the process, the other goblins notice Nari but some were blind because some of the mud from the swamp Nari slammed with his glaive into has got into their eyes, Nari quickly realigns himself to his posture for battle and ducks ever-so-slightly, his right foot in a fixed position, Nari kicks his left leg and rotates clockwise with his glaive out enough to hit all the neighbouring goblins and making sure not to hit Oxford, with all the goblins blown away with that clockwise sweep Nari gets his stance strait yet again Nari proclaims to the goblins, “try this you ugly girl scouts” and thinks, “I shouldn’t use this technique, but hell, if I don’t do this properly Oxford might get seriously hurt, so screw it”, Nari moves his glaive the same way you would use a naginata, while waiting for the goblins to get up and fight him, Nari relaxes his body and readies his stance while moving the same way as you would with a naginata, some goblins charge at Nari while he is this trance and easily dodges the charging goblins and thus jabs the goblins in the back of the head again and again with the blade pointing down on the ground hitting, while hitting all nearby enemies Nari straying away from Oxford so Nari doesn’t think that his an enemy, the fight continues as Nari is in this trance alert and ready for anything to come to his way. Notes: 5 Weak Goblin Scouts and 5 Goblin Scouts have been wiped out. | | Oxford felt something dig into his shoulder after he had finished up his turn of the offensive, the weight not lasting long as the other Guardian vaulted himself off of Oxford.
Tch. Could've said "excuse me" or something...
Ah, well. What's done is done. He decided to go ahead and take a breather, occasionally deflecting attacks from the goblin horde as Narihama did some sort of weird chaotic dance of death in the thick of the goblins. He chuckled as he watched the Guardian flail about, the goblins seeming to ignore him as Oxford continued to pull aggro from the mobs. The skill's duration wore off after a couple more seconds, the goblins beginning to swarm both of the Guardians again.
"Alright, enough dancing. Time for some heavy metal."
He sheathed his sword as he yelled out a warning to the other Guardian, holding his heavy metal tower shield in front of him with both hands.
"LOOK OUT UNLESS YOU PLAN ON GETTING STEAMROLLED!"
His passive Shield Mastery skill kicked in, lowering the weight of the protective piece of metal as he hefted it close to his body.
Not bothering to explain his plan, Oxford took a deep breath and activated his super-special-awesome Tier II skill Siege Breaker. Feeling an incredible pressure building up in the heels of his feet, the game-operated system kicked into place, guiding Oxford into the mass of goblins at speeds a Guardian could never reach on his own. The scouts were flung side to side as Oxford charged through, each one seeming to emit a squeal or grunt at a different pitch as they collided with the shield. It almost sounded like someone was playing a xylophone of gross, grotesque green creatures.
Reaching the end of the group, Oxford leaned back as his feet dug into the mud. Each one came out with a wet, sucking pop noise as he regained his footing. Looking behind him, he admired the carnage that he had wrought upon these mobs, not seeing the Narihama anywhere in sight.
Oh jeez, I hope I didn't barrel right through the guy...
The goblins' numbers seemed to have diminished, looking like only a couple of each group were still left over to face the tanking pair's ire. Random clouds of data bits hovered in various spots before drifting away in the breeze. Oxford took off his shirt again and began to fan himself with it.
Why can't a skill cooldown cool me down as well?
Sweat ran down Oxford's face, turning to eye that pesky campfire and its unnecessary heat. Walking over to it, he raised his mud-covered boot and ground out the flames. He dug in deep with his heel to make sure that he got all the live embers, then dumped a giant glob of mud on it, just to be safe.
He heard some moaning and groaning, turning back to see that the remaining Goblins were regaining their footing.
Nari's got an easy time picking off the leftovers...wherever he is... |

Skill Heavy Anchor As the toxic fumes are inhaled by Nari from the putrid bog of the swamp, he’s consciousness began to waver as he tried to use the technique, Nari heard Oxford scream out, “of course I’m gonna hear that you nit-wit” the Wolf tail thought, wanting to say that to the Guardian as he turned he saw a flash of grey, then a flash of sky blue, thinking Oxford has “steamed rolled” Nari, but then to realise he jumped on heads of the goblins that were trying to cut him into swiss cheese, and narrowly avoided a tower to the face, looking down for a second and seeing Oxford had finished his steam rolling and tuckered down, admiring the chaos that beset the guardians Nari was standing right behind Oxford and with him not noticing, Nari then tapped Oxford on his right shoulder and said, “I like the work you did, it makes this place very serene, huh?” it would appear that some of the goblin scouts have not died and gone to goblin hell, that’s not gonna stop Nari from doing anything about it and send them there though.
With a spring in his step, Nari with a trollish look unsheathed his glaive yet again, whilst giving the weapon a little twirl, Nari pointed the weapon at the goblins, since they were a higher level than Nari, he decided to proceed with caution and be as speedy as possible, as the bogs stench starts to really take its toll on the guardian Oxford, Nari feels somewhat “alive”, smiling as the goblins fly from one part of the field to the next as Nari’s glaive hits at the goblins not so hard as to damage to them considerably but enough to send them flying,Nari starts to act like a kitten that has got a hold of some ball of yarn and starts to play with it with pure fun intent, as the goblins fling from one side of the field to the next, the goblins start to dissipate as to some lose their health entirely and die.
After the “fun” Nari has brought, he thanks the guardian and asks him, “hey, sorry for some of the stuff I did earlier, I know you were protecting me in some way, but it’s nice to fight with one of the most well-known guardians in this game, you may not know but a lot of people that are not only your friends talk about you, sounds creepy abit I know, but I hear a lot about the people of the land and there thanks towards people like you, again thanks” with the “trying to act nice abit” plan possibly worked out Nari continues, “if possible, can I friend you?, I’ll like to fight again with you later on when I become much stronger” with clearly showing pure intent and the smile on his face, the fight against the creatures draw to a close, and the future fights and challenges will come towards Nari in a later time, just remembering why he was stuck, Nari asks Oxford "where to get the hell out of here!?” in a anime like expression, later laughing why he did get lost in the beginning…

Notes: Exit post. And you're welcome. It was rather interesting. | | Oxford had started to get a little concerned that maybe he had accidentally offed the other Guardian, but a tap on the shoulder from behind made him jump and spin around. Yep, there he was. Had Oxford not had his shield equipped at the moment, he probably would've performed a judo throw on the Wolf Tail for scaring him like. Two things stopped him from doing so:
1) He wasn't a Monk.
2) The throw would've probably sent him right back to the Abbey.
However, Nari already had other plans, mainly finishing off the last of the survivors in a violent game of cat-and-mouse. Oxford wrinkled his nose as he suddenly noticed the pungent odor of the swamp mud. It almost smelled like it was...burning? Ah well, doesn't matter. Oxford just stood there with his arms crossed, watching the demonic cat play around with the metaphorical balls of yarn. He dequipped his shield and sword, both of them disappearing into this inventory with a flash of data particles as he listened to Nari talk.
"No prob" was the Guardian's answer to the first bit. He listened to the other Guardian go on about how apparently people talked about him back in London/Londenium/whatever the place was being called. Apparently people he didn't even know were talking about him as well, making Oxford feel good and paranoid at the same time. Good because people were finally recognizing him, paranoid because people were recognizing him.
What's there to talk about? I'm just a guy who goes around marching to the beat of my own drum. Nothing special, really.
At the mention of the friend request, he hesitated. Was this the first friendship to lead to the countless friend requests he would recieve from people he wasn't familiarly acquainted with?
I swear to God, if I start to get swarmed by admirers every time I go out, I'm never leaving my room again.
It was a stupid thought, more of a vision of a worst-case scenario that the Guardian knew would never happen. Waving his arm, he pulled up his Friends List and sent him an invite, bringing his friend total up to 5. Bam.
Oxford was about to wave goodbye and leave the other Guardian to whatever it was he was doing. That is, until Nari asked him how to get out of the swamp.
"What's wrong with your minimap? Is it on the fritz or something?"
After hearing Nari's reply, Oxford took out a cheap piece of parchment and a quill, touching the pen to the paper to map out their current location. He drew an X on the paper, signifying where the exit would be located and handed the impromptu map to him.
"Here. Use this. It should help you find your way back."
Wishing him luck on his journey, the Guardian draped his green shirt around his neck again, disappearing into the night. A cool night-time breeze hit him, cooling him down a little bit, but not enough to escape the damp heat that permeated the swamp from every angle. Wiping the sweat from his brow, he began to walk through swamp, resuming his previous journey of finding information to the Ancestral Ammut's spawning grounds.
