| Caerbannog finally went crazy, so it seemed. It was about an hour before sunset when she sent a challenge, a request for a duel. She had various reasons for it: to prove that she was strong, to show people what she was capable of, to show everyone that she was not longer a child, to try out everything that she learned. But none of those reasons made sense if the person who was actually challenged was written into the equation. The samurai wanted to duel against the one person who always looked out for her in real life and ever since she started her new life in the world of Elder Tale: the assassin Kumori.
“Fight me. No class skills, no nothing, just a fair fight,” was her message to Ryuu, “Savill Flower Grove.”
It was difficult to miss quite an obvious sight in the middle of the vast flower field. Caerbannog stood in the middle of overgrown shrubs and bushes, a safe distance away from the nearest slime, as she waited for Kumori to appear. She knew that he might refuse, but the girl also expected for him to be worried about her. In any case, he would surely appear and she would not allow him to talk out of it. Kyuu intended to start the fight with or without his consent. To bring her level down to his level so that the fight would be as fair as possible, the samurai summoned her pet Hyzenthlay essentially creating a ‘party’. She then used the Teacher System to synch her level down to 65 which was Ryuu’s exact level at that moment.
“Don’t interfere. Kill mobs that try to attack us only,” was the girl’s instruction to the enemic buster, to which the creature replied with a nod.
She had no idea as to what her tamer’s plans were, but the rabbit would take any opportunity to wreck faces. Hyzen hoped that she would not have to fight too many slimes though for they were incredibly icky. That aside, the enemic buster stood a safe distance from Caerbannog way out of her sword’s range- about five meters away- and waved her club around. As for the samurai, she only wore her new cloth armor Schwarze and her sword Nottulfr; Mitsuho dangled from the butt of the hilt while the girl’s hand gripped her saya tightly.
On the sidelines, landers gathered to check out the scene. Caerbannog had frequented that place even though her level was far beyond the highest mob’s in that area, so she was quite a familiar sight. But the girl only ever did have one duel before and in that area too, and she’d used a branch fashioned to a sword back then. This time though, the samurai was armed with an actual sword. Her armor was a bit low for her class though, perhaps out of pride since Ryuu could only use cloth armor too. In any case, it made the fight rather fair what with her level synched down and her skills not meant to be used. Once the assassin came into view, Kyuu would not let him speak or convince her to back down; the samurai would actually dash towards the young man whom she’d called her ‘brother’ for a while and draw her sword against him at an attempt to land the first strike.

The message was a challenge. He wasn’t sure what prompted her to want to do this, but he was not against it. They both had new equipment, and it would be a good chance to test their true skills in combat. She said no HUD and no skills, which meant that it really was simply the skill of a warrior and their stats. He assumed with these restrictions that she wanted a completely fair fight. His aim was simply to do his best. That was what Kyuu wanted and that is what she would get. With the lowering of her level to match his, it would be a challenge, even for him, a seasoned gamer and seasoned athlete. Ryuu made his way towards the Savill Flower Grove and looked for his friend.
After using his HUD to find the samurai, he looked at her and waved. “Hey… what’s up?” he asked. It was quite an odd message to be sending to him. He wasn’t sure why she wanted to fight him, but Kyuu rarely did things without a reason. But before he could say anything, she wouldn’t allow him to do much before she dashed at him. Ryuu’s reactions were good, so he backed away to give him a second more, enough to bring out his dagger from his sheathe he had gotten from Mayahuel. He barely had time to block it, as the blade that she used came as quick as lightning. She was serious, and so it seemed that he would have to take this duel seriously as well. His right hand was holding his dagger, Night’s Kiss, in the reverse stance, attempting to stay on the defensive. His style had always been counter attacks when fighting other people, especially in a duel. To lead someone to make a mistake, that was his motive. After sparks flew from the blade, Ryuu pushed back, attempting to force her back and then jumping back himself. The crowd began to murmur. The two strongest people that the people had known of were fighting now. They knew something was different, as they were not using any of their skills. They were probably wondering what Kumori had done to make the samurai mad, but to him, these distractions were filtered out and he focused only on Kyuu.
His cloak began to flutter, and the black petals began to ‘emanate’ from the end of his cloak. Ryuu prepared for an attack. He had no inclination to fight against her, but as much as he wanted to stay here, it was a sign of respect to acknowledge that this was a duel. If this is what you want… then I will answer with respect…
He wouldn’t pull his punches then. She had given him full permission when she attacked him. He took out his second dagger. It was his Alvan Blade. He held both in the reverse-grip and decided to meet blade with blade. Keeping his left hand, the Alvan Blade in front, he swung intentionally to connect it to the samurai’s nagamaki. In terms of physical strength, the tank was stronger than him, at the same level, but in terms of speed, the assassin was stronger. But while their stats differed, Samurais were somewhat off-tanks, so her speed was not much of a detriment and his strength wasn’t either. If the Alvan Blade connected with her attack, he would attempt to swing his right hand, Night’s Kiss, at her, wondering what she would do to attempt to avoid or defend against his attack. Would she go on the defensive or would she go on the offensive? Both choices were viable.

| Murmurs broke through the crowd on the sidelines as the samurai’s ‘opponent’ appeared. They’d seen the assassin before but never as her foe, only as her friend. So they figured that it was just a friendly duel much like the one that took place at high noon some time ago, that is, until the samurai actually drew her blade without as much as a warning. Ryuu did not need a warning though, as expected since he was an experienced adventurer. While the landers were far off to the wolf-hair’s right side, Hyzenthlay was closer to her left at around five meters. The rabbit had a better view of what was going on and could see the expressions on the fighters’ faces. And on Caerbannog, the creature could see nothing.
Nothing at all. The girl’s wolf features had appeared: the ears, the tail, the fangs and the golden eyes. Her wolf ears were pulled back as she rushed forward and her tail was pointed downwards, her fangs bit down on her lip as she let out a ‘tch’ upon her sword draw. Blue eyes were gone replaced by the wolf-hair’s golden ones to signify that indeed she was in battle and she was serious about it. Emotions spoke only through those features but her face was as expressive as a golem’s, that is to say, not at all.
The sword draw was a dilemma in itself, one that Kyuu took care of on the go. The rules said ‘no skills’ and she wasn’t about to break her own rule, not even with a passive. So as she drew her sword, the girl stopped halfway having felt the strength from Iaido. The stop was momentary and barely noticeable, after which she drew the full length of her nagamaki and struck Ryuu’s blade. The fight was on and the assassin wasn’t letting up as expected of him what with the class that he took. The blade on his left hand clashed with Nottulfr and so Kyuu gripped the hilt tightly to keep her sword up against his dagger. But early on, the complication of having to fight a dual wielder was already apparent. She noticed that Ryuu’s right shoulder moved and so the dagger in his dominant hand followed.
If her opponent wielded dual swords, it would have been easier to dodge or defend against for the length of such weapons gave them little maneuverability in such close proximity. A dagger was a whole other matter though what with its size, Ryuu could merely flick his wrist and whatnot to get past the girl’s defense if any. She realized that she would have to rely on the full range of her own weapon to get out of his reach once she started the next strike. Her right hand firm on the hilt, Kyuu pulled her left hand inwards to push her blade forward without using all of her strength. The idea was to put the left-hand dagger up closer to Ryuu in that split second, and then the girl jumped a full meter backwards. Her strength was focused on her legs to allow such distance instead of using them on her upper body to push the nagamaki against her opponent. The 2-shaku weapon was strange like that. It wasn’t something that could easily be pulled off with any other Japanese sword, not without significant upper body strength at least. It was precisely for that reason that Kyuu wielded a nagamaki; she played on the balance between its blade and hilt to afford her moves without requiring much strength from her.
The distance between the samurai and the assassin could easily be covered, and Kyuu would make that move. The wolf-hair put her left foot forward, her right foot back. She then put Nottulfr up beside her face in a stance meant to thrust the sword forward, its blade parallel to the ground. her eyes were mirrored by the blade and the edge was turned up to the sky. With as much speed as her class and equipment afforded, Kyuu dashed forward and thrust the nagamaki towards her target at the same time. She expected him to either dodge to the sides or to step back, in either case the girl would remove her right hand from the hilt as it limited the range of the thrust, and she would take another step and extend her left arm further since it was bent in her usual stance. The range of the blade would go further though the thrust would be weaker from then on, but since her left hand grip was stronger it would be nigh impossible to disarm her. If Ryuu went to either side, the samurai would merely flick her wrist and slash the blade sideways towards his direction. The problem was that at the end of that move, she would be unable to switch to a defensive stance immediately, so her defense would consist only of a few steps to either direction but nothing too complex or for certain.

Beauty were the only words that described her sword play. She had learned a lot from when she was a novice in the terms of both close hand combat and tanking to an expert swordsman and protector. During a fight, however, Ryuu showed no emotions. He was always stoic. It was part of being an assassin. Whether your enemy had the advantage or not, it was never advantageous to let your opponent know. When prediction via movement, expression, and all other ways to show something bodily was pivotal to winning, an assassin could only be stoic, and as the samurai demonstrated, she was simply serious, but showed neither disdain or celebration. She simply smiled dully. Her Wolf-Hair features began to shine through, her tail becoming evident, her hair wrapping into ears, and her eyes become a golden hue. The assassin knew to tread carefully during this fight. One wrong move, one wrong motion, his dear sister would capitalize on it.
What was good about his daggers is that it gave him something most fighters neglected… mobility. The ease of usage and the ease of movement was what he favored above all when fighting as a rogue or a thief. The ability to attack and return to defending again, the ability to hit more often, all of that was the reason why he chose daggers as his weapon of choice. Anything larger or bigger did not make sense to him, at least not in his mind as a rogue assassin. Kyuu was smart, creating distance. Distance was his weakness as his reach was much shorter than hers. He couldn’t allow that to happen. He needed to be close to keep the upper hand. Her ability to jump away from him was astounding. How would he deal with this? She was used to taking damage and used to facing danger, but Ryuu, Ryuu was never in the position of taking damage. He had to be careful, though. They wouldn’t know their own health bars, and the more hits he took, the more he knew he’d be in trouble. Kyuu had a little more leeway. She was a tank, she had a higher HP stat than he did. He had to be methodical, he had to avoid getting hit. He trusted Kyuu’s HP to not drop low enough to threaten death.
Ryuu dashed right as she dashed towards him, but while he was expecting a slash, he was wrong. Her range was already long, but she was smart. He didn’t expect it and dodged at the last minute. The false sense of security had become dangerous for him, as he edged towards his right. The blade sliced him on his left side, near his ribs. He felt the blood trickle down, but it was nothing too serious. Taking advantage of her using one hand instead of two, Ryuu kept his left dagger at her nagamaki, still moving forward in order to close whatever distance that was between them. He had to use the advantage of her opened stance, with her right hand removed from her nagamaki. He would try to follow her and her steps, trying to keep her right hand away from her nagamaki, and attempt to keep his advantage. After her attempt to evade him, he would attempt to stab at her with his coated blade that would slow her down considerably, should she be hit by it.

| While the adventurers were dueling, Hyzenthlay was busy patrolling the undergrowth. There were some frenmic rabbits here and there, all of which were driven away by the sight of the enemic buster alone. Young pittered boars were more difficult to shoo away though because they were very stubborn and grunted at Hyzen’s face even. The grunts were repaid with a club to the face, so that taught some of them valuable lessons. Slimes did not gravitate towards that area for neither Kyuu nor Ryuu was a magic user. Weasels though... now that was another issue altogether. A lot of them were around Hyzen’s level and were difficult to get rid of but not because they were violent. The weasels wanted to watch the duel too and seemed to be making bets. Since they did not disrupt the fight, the rabbit let them stay but she had an eye on them most of the time.
Back to the fight- maybe it wasn’t such a good idea after all. The moment that her attack actually drew blood, Caerbannog felt conflicted. She just hurt Ryuu-oniichan, didn’t she? Her worry showed momentarily on her face, but only just for a split second as she glanced over to the wound and gasped at the sight. The landers were too far away to notice that though, and Hyzenthlay didn’t see it either. No one saw that, right? She’d already decided that she would start and finish the duel so it wasn’t the time to falter. Her serious expression returned, but by then, the assassin had his dagger against her blade. Not good.
While the samurai did think a few steps ahead after her attacking stance, her plan ended at the possibility of Ryuu’s evasion. Fighting an adventurer was different from fighting mobs or a field boss, as she expected. But without any prior experience with fighting without skills, Kyuu had no counter for the assassin’s strike. She wasn’t going to use her other weapons against him either- just a pride thing which she would probably regret later, but the samurai justified it as being true to her class. It might get her killed someday, but at that moment when Kyuu struggled to make her body move to a defensive stance, she noticed the dagger which moved towards her torso and so without a second thought, she grabbed the weapon’s blade with her right hand.
“Itai...” she complained as the dagger cut into her hand.
Okay, THAT was a really bad idea. With her right hand injured, she would be unable to hold her nagamaki securely. If only she equipped her iron chains or her yoroi, her hand would have been protected but those items remained in her inventory instead. Might as well use the situation to her advantage, the girl thought, and at that she slid her hand down towards the dagger’s grip until she reached Ryuu’s hand. The samurai pulled at it so that his left hand which blocked her nagamaki would falter, and then she would slash the weapon sideways at an attempt to cut her opponent’s upper arm.

| Equipment: Cuirass of Shadows | Cloak of Darkness | Nectar Scabbard Night’s Kiss by 黒 | Alvan Blade by 黒 | Skills: Tags: | : Word Count : 0710 OOC Notes: Quick Slot: Heaven's Wrath by 黒 | There were several onlookers, and even mobs were beginning to watch and make bets. While that was utterly confusing to him, he was unsure how to respond to that other than continue on fighting. He needed to win for the people who were betting on him anyways. Did he get commission? He wondered… wait a sec… was he getting paid for this fight?! Ah well, it didn’t matter. The weasels were probably betting whatever food they caught. With the crowd looking upon them, cheering for each of the contenders, it was obvious who they thought would win. It was the samurai, of course, who had higher level and was the cute girl that everyone thought was lovable, compared to Kumori, who was close, but still not up to par compared to the samurai. Their 16 level disparity was, however, closed with the teacher system. She had brought herself down to his level, quite literally. What the onlookers, other than the adventurers, wouldn’t know was that this was truly a battle of skill. None of the class skills were being used, and probably threw off the on looking adventurers when they were watching the fight.
When she saw the blood that had trickled down and bled through his shirt, she winced, and her serious eyes had changed back to her normal soft features. The one he always expected of the samurai when they were together. He never wanted to see the anger within her eyes, he never wanted to see her wolf features baring down on him, but at this point, it was inevitable to turn back. His daggers were already in motion. The dagger was caught by his sister, and her eyes had reverted back to her typical wolf self. He heard something he thought he’d never be the cause of.
Itai he heard. She was hit? He didn’t expect that, but that was better for him. At least logically it was. Unfortunately, for Ryuu, he was similar to Kyuu in that he wasn’t sure how to react. He had just hurt a dear friend, maybe something more… no… it was definitely something more. The more time they spent together, the harder it was for him to continue calling her his sister. She was most definitely more than that.
She brought her hand closer and then grabbed the dagger that was stopping her Nagamaki. His slight hesitation and distraction had caused her to succeed. When he realized what she was doing, it was too late. The dagger was now below the his torso, unable to defend against the nagamaki should she strike again. He saw the strike coming, but what could he do to dodge or avoid damage? He fell backwards, his clipped by the edge of the blade. It was a close call, but he didn’t escape without a disadvantage. He was now on the ground, and the upper hand was now given to the samurai. I have to move, he thought to himself, but he did know what he could do. He decided that a “Chinese get up” was the most effective move, especially right after her slash. He had to keep her engaged, or else he’d lose his advantage. The closer the distance, the more even the chances of his winning, but nothing ever went right, if he remembered how fighting went with other people.
After getting to his feet, as quickly as possible, his left dagger was ready to block the nagamaki should it come towards him, but while he prepared his defense, he prepared his offense as well. He ran thrusted his right dagger forward attempting to hit the samurai again. Just as the samurai, who had become serious, he had to do so as well. No distractions, no sympathy. He could not let his emotions get to him, or at least, that’s what he was thinking at the moment. In reality… he couldn’t help but think of the girl as more than just a sister and more than just a friend. This was a duel of showing each other’s feelings and they did so by striking and defending. This was no fight, this was a dance, a dance between two warriors, a dance to confirm for the two their next step in their relationship.

| It was well worth the sacrifices that she made, or so the samurai thought. Her hand which was sacrificed to remove the blade which stopped her own. But more than that, the sacrifice that she made when she challenged her dear friend Ryuu. He was the highest leveled adventurer that she knew and so it only made sense for him to be her target, the one that she must defeat. And Caerbannog had decided to do it without the aid of Elder Tales skills too. Just her own abilities in combat, those which she learned and developed as she leveled up.
But soon it sank in that her sacrifices were not quite worth it perhaps. Kyuu soon managed to put both hands on the hilt of Nottulfr once again but what of it? Due to the bleeding wound which stung so badly, the samurai was unable to grip her sword properly. And more than that, what of Ryuu? Had he not been with her in the most pivotal moments of her history in Elder Tale? Her initial training, her having to deal with her first death, the first boss kill, expeditons to Sarum, and one to the depths of Windsor Castle... and Aeryn, her first guild, her first and one true home in Londinium.
Conflicting thoughts that arose in her mind and the effect of the wound caused by the dagger tainted by its noxious sheath resulted to a momentary lapse in the girl's judgment. She hesitated to attack even as the assassin fell into a vulnerable position, and when he moved in to strike her, Kyuu merely slid a step forward. Instead of a full attack from her directed to her oponent, the samurai moved right into his striking range. From the sidelines, Hyzenthlay had noticed the sudden sluggishness of her tamer. Unlike the wolf-hair, Hyzen sprung into action, but what could a rabbit do as she jumped right between the dueling adventurers?

It was obvious from the way she was moving that she was distracted. She was distracted from the fight, and while he was moving in to attack her, he was watching her all the while. Her sluggishness was uncharacteristic of her usual tanky self, knowing when and where to be, knowing who and what to attack. She had moved into a position that left her completely open, and her experience in combat was greater than his, she should’ve known better. Her hands were moving slow due to his debuff. Was it cheating? He wasn’t sure. It was part of his equipment, and he didn’t have time to remove the scabbard before the fight. At the corner of his eyes, he could see a white flash, and then already in front of him, the enemic buster was ready to sacrifice herself for her master, to not be hit or marked by the assassin. Ryuu pulled his blade back, dropping both of his blades and snatching the enemic buster out of the air, before the samurai could bring her nagamaki to body level. Her slower movements allowed him to do what he was about to do, unfortunately it would come with a cost… his loss. In order to make sure that the enemic buster was within range of the nagamaki as little as possible, he spun to his left, doing what no fighter should ever do… putting his back towards his opponent. It allowed way too many openings to his opponent, but her killing something that was dear to her, that would be worse. He couldn’t allow that to happen, not as her friend… not as someone who was special to him. Ryuu held the enemic buster tight, trying to keep it from flailing it’s club at him and killing him, and while he could’ve silenced the enemic buster quite easily, he chose not to. He simply held its club in place and turned to face the nagamaki that would probably be near his neck or head. His eyes would stare straight at the blade that would either be through him or in front of him. He looked over at the wielder and smiled. “I guess that makes you the winner?” he asked, smiling genuinely. He had dropped his modes of defense and offense on the floor, making him the automatic loser. He smiled at the samurai and nodded. “That was a good fight…”. After the blade was removed from him or away from him, he would place the Enemic Buster who would smack him a few times with its club and then walk away like a snobby little princess. He sighed and shrugged. He did just save her life, some type of thanks would’ve been nice. “Kyuu… during our fight… I felt something… something different. While I was giving it my all, I couldn’t help but feel you were distracted…” he sighed as he looked down at the floor, ashamed at what he had done, fighting at full strength. “Kyuu… 愛してるよ” he said to her. She’d understand it… She’d understand every implication that came from it. It was Japanese and there were few ways to say I love you, and this meant it in the most extremes of love… a significant other’s love. It was a feeling he had attempted to suppress, but through their fight, it had emerged once again. “Don’t make me fight you again… I can’t bear to hurt you, willfully or accidentally,” he said to her.

| Hyzenthlay was just about as impulsive as any rabbit could get. Her club was definitely not something that could stop an assassin, and the sword which swung from Caerbannog’s direction was not something that she could block either. But even as the light of the sun glimmered, reflected off of the nagamaki, Hyzen had no time to think and further. The next thing she knew, she was in the arms of someone unfamiliar. Oh no...oh no! A man! The enemic buster flailed at her captor but he held her in place. Out of fear from the unfamiliar person, Aeryn’s guild leader whom she barely knew, Hyzen began to cry out. That shrieking drove away most of the other creatures in the immediate area for they were in the Flower Grove, a place where the enemic buster was considered as one of the strongest. Even the weasels who were disappointed with their loss and had begun bickering with their own kind ran away, not wanting to get caught up in that mess any further.
At that moment that she swung her sword and a silver figure appeared, Caerbannog’s mind caught up with her present state. A familiar brown-haired figure came into view, his face dangerously close to her blade and so at the last moment, the samurai flicked her wrists so that the edge faced away from the assassin. And timely too, for he had dropped all of his weapons and when he turned to face her, a shrieking enemic buster was in his arms. Was that...
“Hyzen!” the girl’s wolf ears pulled back and downwards, her eyes turned to a brilliant blue and she threw her sword to the side.
Caerbannog rushed forward and took the upset rabbit from Ryuu’s arms. She missed what he said about her being the winner; it didn’t matter anymore. Once Hyzen was away from the assassin, she stopped flailing and her tamer nuzzled the creature’s soft forehead gently. The girl then looked up when she heard Ryuu say something peculiar, as his voice sounded quite different from its usual self-assured tone. The wolf-hair blinked a few times as she listened to the assassin’s words and her racial traits slowly faded away as her emotions changed. And then he said... that. THAT. What? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
“Y-you... you know what that means... right?!” the girl’s eyes widened.
Aishiteruyo! Did he really just say that? It was a weird thing to say! Then again, that language had peculiar nuances. He could have meant it differently; Ryuu-oniichan tended to speak weirdly after all. It didn’t mean what she thought it meant, right? No way!
“Baka-oniichan! Don’t say things weirdly!” Kyuu exclaimed sounding a bit upset. Her tone made Hyzenthlay upset too and the rabbit instantly thought that it was all the assassin’s fault.
The landers who were watching from afar were really confused at that point. Some began scratching their heads, some walked away. Not only was the development confusing, but the assassin had spoken in a language that they could not understand. Some of the women knew a confession when they saw it though, and they stuck around to watch how it would turn out for the young man.

“It’s not weird if I truly mean it, right?” he asked. He looked straight into the eyes of his love, his best friend, Kyuu. “愛してるよ” with no hesitation. His eyes showed that he was being truthful. He did not turn to giggle or attempt to make his case. All he did was say it to her. Ryuu stepped up to her and lifted her up, his fingers under her chin. Ryuu bent his head towards her lips and then closed his eyes as he simply went in for it. Their lips touched, and Ryuu held her chin firmly to keep her in place for a little longer than a peck, before he finally let go and let her run off, punch him, or do whatever she wanted to do as a tsundere. “愛してるよ” he said again to her. He didn’t want for her to run away, but if someone all of a sudden did that, the person would usually die out of embarrassment. “Go out with me… be my girlfriend…” he said in a manner where he was stating questions. “I promise to love you and cherish you… I promise to protect you… I promise to be your pillar of strength when you need it… Kyuu… I want to be with you every step of the way… so will you be my girlfriend…?” he said to her finally. He looked at her with anticipation. He wasn’t sure if he’d get an answer today, but at least it was finally out. He had finally told her his true feelings for her. Now it was up to her how she would react.

| What a strange day. It started out as a duel because Caerbannog wanted to prove to Kumori that she’d grown stronger and she could beat him in a fair fight, but somehow things went awry along the way. The samurai was distracted by her own thoughts and it was no one else’s fault but her own. Her enemic buster almost got injured in the process but the very same opponent whom the girl intended to defeat fairly had given up the fight on purpose to save Hyzenthlay. And even stranger still, he stated something that sounded like a confession. Due to his old-fashioned way when speaking Japanese, the samurai thought that he meant something else but apparently, he ‘meant’ it that time.
Both the enemic buster and her tamer were surprised when the assassin stepped up to the samurai and... what was that?! The landers who stayed to watch the fight gasped at the sidelines. Unlike adventurers with whom the pair partied up with, the landers did not know about the whole brother-sister thing between the two and so they did not think the scene weird, merely surprising. The women giggled and the men cheered the assassin on, but what went through the samurai’s mind was anything but happiness. She was absolutely confused and slightly upset. Ryuu just took her first kiss without asking her beforehand. Rude! At least he was gentle, and he actually said that he loved her. Still, rude!
And so when the assassin continued what he wanted to say, Kyuu could only absent-mindedly nod. She muttered a simple ‘okay’ every now and then, not really sure as to what the conversation was about. All she could think of was that her first kiss was taken so suddenly and after a duel gone bad too. But while the wolf-hair stood there rather dumbfounded, Hyzenthlay heard the confusion in the girl’s voice and saw her upset expression. The rabbit struggled out of her tamer’s arms and jumped right at Kumori. She swung her club right at his face, unmindful of the fact that the assassin had no weapons and he had just saved the enemic buster from being slashed by her own tamer’s sword. The assassin made the samurai upset, and that was reason enough to wreck his face!

When he looked up, he saw a flash of something at the corner of his eye again, and again the Enemic Buster decided to butt in into his time with Kyuu. Before he could attempt to catch, stop, or remove the club that was flying towards his face, it had already connected with his face. While the Enemic Buster was still low in level, it didn’t mean she didn’t do things that didn’t hurt. The club connected with his face and he was sent flying back. The powerful hit had enough force to send him back several feet, but all the assassin did was get back up and sighed. He expected the Enemic Buster to act the way that it did in order to ‘protect’ Kyuu. He sighed as he didn’t attempt to get closer. “Caerbannog… I, Kumori, love you from the bottom of my heart… will you be my girlfriend?” he asked in a louder voice towards her. This time it was for sure. Everyone now knew, if they were confused about what had just happened, the suspicions were rectified or confirmed. The two of the strongest adventurers in the area were going to be going out, or at least that was what it was looking like. Well, hopefully, anyways. Maybe Ryuu took t hings a bit too fast here, but he didn’t mind. Kiss first, ask the question later… that was his idea for today. Terrible? Probably… but hey, he did things this way because he learned by doing things, not asking questions.

| The horrible sound that the club made when it connected with Ryuu’s face brought back the samurai’s senses to her. She heard cheering from the side and saw her silver rabbit ready to attack the assassin once again. Were the landers cheering for the rabbit? Was the duel still ongoing? She looked up at Ryuu and tilted her head a bit, wondering why he was unarmed. And then he suddenly spoke out loud; it was loud enough for the by-standers to hear him.
“Waaah?!” came Kyuu’s initial reaction before the pieces of the puzzle fell together in her mind.
Her close friend had confessed to her just a while ago and asked her to go out with him, and now for some reason he felt the need to repeat all of that again. It was probably because she did not give a proper response, but now that Kyuu was herself again, she picked up Hyzenthlay so that the rabbit would not attack the assassin once more. And then she turned to the landers and bowed towards them.
“I’m sorry for the trouble!” was what she said to the crowd.
The samurai, who by then was free of her debuff and had the bleeding wound on her hand partially closed up, ran towards the forest and grabbed Ryuu by the hand along the way. Once they were hidden behind the trees, Kyuu let go of her friend’s hand and clutched Hyzen tightly so that it would not wreck faces. The samurai’s face was completely red and she seemed rather cross.
“So embarrassing! In front of so many people!” she exclaimed, “And you took my first kiss, Baka-nii! You’re taking responsibility!”
And at that, the samurai turned her back to the guy who was... I guess, her boyfriend now. Kyuu then used the skill [Call of Home] so that she would return to Londinium. If they had anything else to talk about, perhaps the guild house was a better place for it than some grassy field in front of landers.
