Ryker yawned loudly as he slowly began to stretch his arms above his head. As he did so, the Cleric sat up off the aged, cracked, and rotted rooftop he was situated on. The sun was low on the horizon and was just hovered beyond it, ready to disappear behind the virtual planet for however long night time was. Ryker didn’t exactly have a watch, or he just hadn’t found the clock yet. He simply lived like he did in reality; around the sun. Now that it was setting, it was time for him to go indoors and find somewhere to rest. Though, he didn’t even get a chance to get off his backside before the sleeping man was attracted to a dark figure standing on the edge of the building. It was slender, tall, and looked a little crooked. Its arms were bent and its hands neatly folded behind its back, as if it were waiting for something…
“Erm… Hello?” Instinctively, Ryker spoke out. He was quite the curious man, but this time he wished he hadn’t said a thing. As the being across the rooftop wasn’t any old Adventurer… or maybe it wasn’t one at all.
Upon being spoken to, the upper body of the black figure bent and it tilted backwards until its painted upper face was looking at Ryker. It had three little bell-arms on its head, sort of like a jester, but the bells were broken like the red and white mask it wore. Its mouth was long, wide, slender, and white as the pair of pink lips were drawn back, revealing the intoxicatingly vicious smile beneath. Ryker quivered at the sight.
“Hellew thar youngman! I see you have awakened!” The being spoke in a high pitched sort of tone, but Ryker could tell it was forced, or maybe just… broken.
“Y-yes. Yes I ha-HAVE!” Midsentence, the black figure twisted its lower body, the noise of bones crackling and snaping ringing in Ryker’s ears at the strange person performed the motion. Ryker trembled at the sight and began to push his back against the awkwardly growing tree behind him.
“Gewd, GOOD! That is a good thing. You see, I have something to ask of you, young man!” The black, estranged Jester made his way towards Ryker, remaining in its awkward bent over position as it did so. Ryker continued to try to move away with every step the being took, but the tree was a bit of an obstacle.
“A-and that is?” Suddenly, the black figure vanished from where it was approaching. Ryker heard rustling. When he looked u-“I have created something, young man!”
“A—“ Ryker began to shout, a pill dropping into his throat the instant his mouth opened. Instantly, his body reacted and he swallowed it. Death crossed his face, a smile crossed the jester’s.
“WHAT WAS THAT?!” Ryker shouted, shooting his hand up into the black mist which replaced the jester. The Cleric grabbed his throat and squeezed but it was too late, the pill was gone. It was inside him. Fifteen seconds was all it took and it would be in his stomach. Fear, regret, and terror poured out of the man’s expression. Cackling echoed in his ear. The Jester stood on the corner of the building.
“I will be watching, young man.” The pale white, nightmarish smile vanished with the Jester as he suddenly jumped off the building. Ryker extended one hand, as if to catch and grab the strange figure but it was far too late. He was long gone now, and Ryker had some strange… substance.. in his stomach.
“Oh my god…” Ryker whispered to himself as he began to feel… strange. It wasn’t anything bad or deadly, as his health wasn’t decreasing, but he could feel something off in his body. It was as if someone was touching him all over, very, very gently, with some sort of feather. It didn’t tickle. It didn’t hurt. It felt ghastly. Strange. Cold… Lingering…

Ryker suddenly felt naked, as if someone was touching him all over even though he had all of the protection on his body. The Cleric gripped at his own arms and squeezed, released a heavy gasp, and then looked towards the sun. Red. Black. Blue. Yellow. Orange! The sun was all those colors! A MIX! A GRIND! It was a spinning sensation within his eye sockets. The pill was in his stomach now, wasn’t it? Yes, it was being digested, devoured, and distributed to his body. At first his limbs, now his brain. Oh god, it was fast, but Ryker had a feeling it would get worse. He needed to le-LIVE! No, jump! No, he had to get the apple. Yes, the rabbit. Oh god his thoughts were scattering. How could brain think himself out inside? Whoa, what the? Weird, don’t switch me that way.
Yes, Ryker needed to go down the stairs and into the alley. There, the magician would be waiting. Go, go Ryker. No don’t stand there you moron. Yes, Ryker began to walk off the roofceiling and into the small compartment at the top of the stairs. The uh… the stairwell top. Yea, that was it. So once there, he made-no-he stumbled down the stairs. Slowly, with his hand on the railing, the white haired man-boy, whatever he was, made his way down the building. There were stairs, a lot of stairs. So it took him a lot of time but it didn’t feel like long at all. Like his brain just thought it was long when it actually wasn’t. Slow-motion walking was what it was, but he made it to the bottom.
There, Ryker went into the bottom floor main zone. It was a restaurant, no it was a bar. Bar-resutrant. It was an empty bar restaurant with broken windows, tipped chairs, and no bartender to make things look nice. There were no waitresses either so Ryker was stuck navigating on his own to the door. He made it half way across the room before the lights flickered. There were pink lights that were kind of stroby, but sometimes stayed on for longer than they should have. Or they strobed because he was blinking a little faster than he was before. Maybe? Yea, that was the reason. Maybe if he blinked less, they would not be so flashy. Wait, forget the lights. Ryker needed the majician outside. So he stopped looking at the lights and made his way to the door, walking softly as he hugged himself like a little girl who was lost at night. Pansy Cleric he was, scared to be touched by the shadow man that had just given him something weird. Or he just didn’t like being touched by the mocking chairs. STOP YELLING AT ME WOMAN, I’M WRITING.
She made me take something weird, but that’s okay. Ryker is still making his way to the door. No, he just reached it. There was no door though so that was okay. He just walked through the empty space and into the outside area. The sun was almost gone now but still colorful as ever. There was a rainbow too but the sun wasn’t the rainbow it was just there. So he looked at the rainbow. There at the entrance to the building with the bar resturantt that was empty Ryker stood and stared at the rainbow. It was pretty. Colors were lovely aren’t they? They make things so nice. Except when a woman wears a lot of colorful makeup. That just looks weiHEY THE MAJICIAN.
Yea, forgot about that. Ryker looked away from the rainbow, upset that he had too, and turned to his left. There he could see the alley. His body tingled all over, like the ghosts were trying to touch him harder now. It felt kind of good like a massage kind of good but still bad because they were not being gentle in some places. Strange ghosts. Whatever. Ryker kept holding himself hoping that would make things better and made his way into the alley. EXCEPT THERE WAS NO MAJICIAN! HAHA! SUCKER. But there was some weird guy standing there. He had a cape. Was he a super hero? I don’t know, neither did the woman-fox-man, so he called to him. HEY SUPERH. Oh wait, Ryker called to him.
“HEY. ARE YOU A SUPERHERO?” The White-Ryker yelled. His ears rang. That hurt. Yelling hurt. The echo was loud and made him cringe. The weird foxears made things worse too and that made him fall to his knees. But he still wanted to know if the man was a super hero so he kept his eyes up. I don’t think the guy was a superhero though. He didn’t have a large enough cape and when he turned to look at Ryker he didn’t have any tights on. The guy didn’t have any letters on his body either. He did have a mask though, sort of. It was more like a viser like the Cyclops from the X-Men wore. It was pretty cool. Maybe he was a superhero then BUT WAIT, he had to respond!
“No guy, I am not a super hero.” The man said. Ryker, surprised, held himself tighter and began to tear up like a whimp. The man was no superhero, was he just a regular guy? A regular guy couldn’t save him from the black joker man. He needed someone like Batman. Yea, he needed a Batman to fight the Joker for him. Maybe Batman could fix the pill too. It was getting cold all of a sudden. Ryker needed socks. No wait, I need socks.

Now it is warm again so Ryker could move. He still breathed heavily though. Because the guy wasn’t a superhero, Ryker had no use for him so he left the alley. The man was strange. Why did he wear a cape and a Cyclops-visor if he was not superhero? Maybe he was bored or had some weird fetish. Whatever it was was his problem. The guy needed to be in some sort of medical lock up place. Yea they would help him. So Ryker left him to those people and made his way up the street. The sun was gone now so there was no more rainbows in the sky but there were some street lights. No they were rainbow fountains. The lights they gave off were pretty and were a mix of things, like the weird woman with a lot of makeup again. Ew, that actually sounds nasty. Ryker wanted to eat all of a sudden, so he decided to go to the restaurant. But not any restaurant, he went to the one with lights on. Yea, the one that was a little up the street and on the right. The one will all the pretty fox ladies and cat tailed girls. That was the best one, so he went there.
But when he got there, he got scared. The hand that were touching him all over got stronger and he could almost barely move. It was weird, but still felt good. Maybe they were telling him not to go inside? Whatever, they were just hands. Ryker was an indepentant man who knew what he was doing, pill or no pill. So he went inside. Wait. First he knocked. Then he went inside. It was polite to knock but probably didn’t matter. Inside there were too many people. It was loud too, so Ryker had to finally let go of his arms. Instead he grabbed where his human ears should have been. That obviously didn’t work so he had to grab his fox ears. That was better. It was a little quieter so it didn’t hurt so much, but the colors he saw were weird. It was like a moving rainbow of people, kind of. But it wasn’t like the real rainbow just a example.
“Do you need help Mr. Fox?” A beautiful woman with red hair and purplish skin asked. Her dress was beautiful, unlike her skin, and her eyes sparkled a little. She looked like a mutant but Ryker knew she wasn’t. It was the pill! So he ignored that stuff and acted natural.
“I would like a booth please.” But he needed a quiet one. “A quiet one.” Because it was too noisy for him. So the woman took him to one. It was on the second floor of the place and behind a curtain, making it more private and quiet than the other place. Ryker liked it there, so he got comfortable. The woman had left him with a menu but Ryker couldn’t read it. The letters were a little twisted and scrambled. There wasn’t much light either so he could hardly see it. Maybe the place was a bad choice, but the women were pretty. He saw a lot of them down the stairs. He wondered when one would come up to him. Oh, maybe he was in the private place where good things happened to well paying customers. Yea that would be nice, but Ryker was poor so that was out of his reach. Poor bastard.
Instead of reading, because he couldn’t, Ryker looked at the pictures. They weren’t good pictures but he got what they meant. The place had burgers, fries, hot dogs, some Italian pasta thing like spaghetti, sandwiches, pancakes, and waffles. Oh he needed the waffles. Yea he would get waffles. But he needed a drink too so he flipped to that page. On it there were milkshakes and other weird drinks. Alcohol too near the bottom, but he didn’t know that. He only could see the image. Ryker was no drinker so it was okay he would just avoid those. But if he couldn’t see what they were he was screwed! HAH! YEA!

Ryker giggled at the image of a little chibi thing in the corner of the menu. It looked sooo funny. Like, a strange kind of funny. It almost looked like the girl was an alien. It was so funny Ryker fell out of the booth and onto the floor. It was that kind of funny. He was still on the floor when the pretty waitress walked in. She was one of the fox ladies, but she was a lot cuter. She had heels on too which made it better. Ryker didn’t see her at first but when she clicked her heels, he stopped laughing to see her. She had a short skirt on, heels, a cute shirt, and her long hair was in a pony tail. No makeup though, she was pretty without it. Ryker got himself together and sat up, trying to look manly for the woman rather than like an idiot. TOO LATE!
“My name is Allisa and I will be your server tonight.” Her voice was soft and pretty, but Ryker was staring at her chest so he missed almost everything except her name. She was a cute woman.
“Can I start you off with a…” She noticed he was staring, so she wiggled her pen at Ryker. Ryker snapped up and stopped staring like a fox-dog. “Do you want a drink?” Her tone changed a little, but Ryker was far to focused on her pretty eyes. How nice it must have been to be so pretty.
“Miss you are beautiful.” Ryker said. The woman did not look amused and instead pointed at the menu. Shot down! Bam! Just like that.
“Drink, please.” She ordered. Ryker, the fox-dog he was, looked at his menu and then held it up. He couldn’t read so he pointed at the red and blue pretty one on the bottom. It was in one of those slender glasses so it was probably something delicious.
“This one, please. Sorry I can’t read what it is.” Rather than hold the woman up and make her wait he told her that he couldn’t read. The woman eyed him as if he was strange but leaned over the table anyways. Ryker held the menu closer to her so she could read it but also looked elsewhere. Smooth foxboy.
“Alright. I will be back with your drink.” The woman said as she wrote down what Ryker wanted. Then she spun around and two pink foxtails waved in the air behind her as she walked out. She had more of a strut though, which was sexy and her heels made Ryker’s ears melt. She was a beautiful lady.

Ryker was left waiting for her to come back though. He sat there in the booth, quiet and bored like a good foxdog while the woman went to get his drink. He took the time to look around while she was gone but there wasn’t much to look at. The lights were dimmed and a dark red, the floor was black and the walls were felty. The booth was a curved seat thing and it was pretty cushiony but wasn’t well made. It hurt Ryker’s butt. He couldn’t touch the floor either but that was because he was a shortstop fox. HAH! Sucker. He needed to grow an inch. Maybe then the cute foxlady would let him stare more. Too bad for him that he was done growing probably. He was twenty and she looked fifteen so she was too young anyways but he was in a game now so who cared about age? Weirdo. No, pedo. Yea. PEDO!
That was when the lady finally came back. She was giggling, but not at Ryker. He was too dull for that. So when she showed up and looked at him she immediately lost her giggling. She still smiled though because her job required it. Ryker felt bad about himself so he simply took his drink when she gave it to him and started to sip on it. It was sweet and burned. Did milk really burn that much in the real world? Maybe. It also tasted like lemon. Weird. Oh well he pointed at it so he dealt with it. He wasn’t a jerk like some people were when they went places.
“Have you decided on anything to eat? Point at it so I can see.” She was kind enough to remember Ryker couldn’t read so he simply pointed at the waffles. The woman looked at the menu and stopped. Then she looked at Ryker.
“Sir, are you sure?” She asked. Maybe she was catching on. Should he tell her? Probably but it was too late. Right? Who would care about his pillness anyways. She might just get him thrown out. So he shook his head and kept sipping at his drink.
“Okay then. One stack of waffles coming right up. I’ll be back to check on you soon.” Just like that the pretty lady took his menu and left. Ryker wanted to call her pretty but he wasn’t man enough to do that so he stayed there. Maybe he should have just stayed at the other building. Pansy. Then he wouldn’t have bothered the pretty woman. She would have kept laughing if he wasn’t there. Ryker sighed in an upset manner and kept drinking his drink. It didn’t burn after a while and he started to feel warm. There was a lot of the drink at least so he kept himself busy with sipping on the straw.
He could hear the people in the room below from where he was. They were all having fun, more fun than he was, but Ryker didn’t join them. He had taken that pill so he wanted to avoid the loud noises. He also didn’t know what he would do with it in him. The drink tasted strange though and it tasted good so he was satisfied. Though he was reminded of the magician guy. Wasn’t he supposed to be chasing him? No maybe he should stay inside. Outside was the bad joker man. He was safe where he was. Only the pretty lady would come get him. Maybe she was the joker? What if she was? Would she kill him?! HE NEEDED TO FIND THE MAGICIAN! The magician would help him!
No, no the magician was gone. There was just a fake superhero. Right? No, yes. Yes there was only a fake superhero. Ryker was all alone now. All by himself with no one to save him. Not even the pretty woman. So he crawled under the table and curled up. Then he closed his eyes. How sad, Ryker. You poor man.
“Sir?” The pretty voice came back and he heard the heels. The woman walked in! Oh wow that was fast! Much faster than before! Ryker tried to sit back up but he smashed his head into the table instead. That hurt a lot! It actually made Ryker fall over and hold onto his head. Upon appearing out from under the table, the woman spotted him and rushed to his side.

“Hey! Are you okay?!” The woman shouted, which hurt Ryker’s ears but it was okay. She was pretty. Ryker nodded to her and began to stand up slowly.
“Yes, I am fine Miss.” Ryker said to her as he stood back up. His head throbbed now and his ears hurt more. It was painful in this place so he needed to leave. “I’m sorry but I need to go.” The fox boy said while rubbing his head. He didn’t want to burden the lady any more so he gave her a full sack of money and walked out of the room. The woman looked after him strangely and Ryker made it to the stairs before he collapsed. The ghostly hands squeezed on his body so hard his legs stopped working. They became… numb. They were almost like paralyzing and Ryker couldn’t fight that, so he fell on his face. Surprised, the woman rushed to him.
“Hey! Sir are you okay?! What’s wrong?” The woman yelled again which did not help and Ryker cringed again at the noise. He couldn’t walk and he couldn’t hear very well anymore. But falling had got the woman’s attention. That was good enough, right? Maybe now if he told her that the Joker had done something bad that she would help him?
“The Joker made me eat a pill. Now it hurts to hear and I feel like I’m being touched all over.” He said finally. The woman looked at him strangely again but this time she didn’t yell. Instead she pet him behind the ears and called over two big men from down the hall who were already coming over. They picked up Ryker easily and carried him into a room at the end of the hall and set him on the soft bed. There they left him with the pretty lady. She didn’t do much but help the foxboy into the bed and tucked him in so he wouldn’t move. Then she smiled at him.
“Stay here until it all goes away.” She said. Ryker smiled at the pretty lady and then she left the room. It was warmer now that he was in the bed, but it was still dark. It was scary too because there wasn’t a lot of light. The window was open too. Which was bad. The Joker could get in couldn’t he? YUP BECAUSE HE DID!
After the lady was gone for a little while a black figure came in through the open window! It was so majestic but scary because the bells on the Joker’s head were ringing. It was cool but creepy. The dude’s mask was flipped too. So instead of white and red it was red and white now. He still had a creepy smile though. That didn’t change.
“So, how was it?” The Nightmare guy asked. Ryker trembled and kept his mouth shut. He was scared of getting another pill but the Joker was determined to get him to speak. So he yelled angrily.
“HOW WAS IT, FOXBOY?!!!” The joker screamed! His voice was deep and frightening! It made goosebumps appear on Ryker’s skin.
“It was horrible! There was no magician or superhero! The pretty lady hates me now too!” Ryker said aloud. He was more upset about the pretty lady though. Which sucked THE. MOST. She was hot.
“Oh? I see. Well sucks to be you. Thank you for testing that out. It was an enjoyable sight.” The Joker guy stopped yelling and spoke calmly now that Ryker had answered him. With that, he made his was over to Ryker and leaned over. Ryker trembled like a pansy.
“So… you want another one?” The joker guy asked. Ryker shook his head. “DO YOU?!” HE SCREAMED.
“NO!” Just as Ryker yelled the Joker shoved a white pill into the foxboy’s mouth. Ryker tried to spit it out too but nothing happened. He had already swallowed it. The Joker laughed at him and bounced over to the window.
“Well I have had my fun so good night Ryker! See you again soon!” Next the Joker jumped out the window and disappeared. Ryker quivered in the bed. He was afraid of the next pill effect but nothing happened. Instead his eyes got heavy and he found himself tired. He didn’t last long before he finally fell asleep. The pink pill made his last visions dark and creepy. The walls caved in on him, the ceiling grew dozens of creepy faces, and the voices outside got louder and louder. They grew so loud that he couldn’t hear himself think anymore. So he went to sleep deaf. Hopefully the pretty lady would still be there when he work up. The End.
