Ryuu was dressed in a very different attire than he usually was. He was dressed in a swimsuit which he had named “sharkskin.” It allowed him to swim better, and he could unzip it so he could show off his body. Well, in reality, it was only if he wanted to tan his upper body; that would be the reason. He looked over towards his girlfriend who was dressed beautifully (and borderline scantily) in the bikini he had made her. The assassin couldn’t help but feel pretty confident when he was with her and when she was in a bikini. So where were they going? They were going to the Thames Coast in order to do some treasure hunting. Apparently news had reached the adventurers that there were treasure chests here to be found. It took all of his self-control to stop himself from grabbing her and kissing her. He didn’t want it to be too often, and especially since he wanted every kiss to be special. Besides, they were going to have fun at the beach and in the ocean. He knew that his girlfriend had no idea how to swim, so Ryuu decided to kill two birds with one stone. He decided that it would be better for Kyuu if he motivated her to want to swim. If she couldn’t swim, she wouldn’t be able to help him look for treasure. The assassin turned around and began walking backwards towards the coastline. “Soooo…. You know you look unbelievably cute in that, right?” he smiled. She was probably expecting a kiss of some sort to be used, but he didn’t. All he simply did was smile and complimented her. Did she want a kiss? Who knew? All he could do was hold the bait in front of her and see if she bit. After their possible kiss, initiated by Kyuu, or not, they would arrive at the coastline with the equipment they had in hand. It was mostly diving gear and treasure hunting gear. Now, because this had turned into real life, he wasn’t sure if his oxygen was limited in any way. The assassin decided he’d try it out and see his way to it. He had bought a set of snorkels and diving gear, such as fins, so that it would be easier to get to where they needed. While it cut down on maneuverability, it definitely helped with speed. Ryuu dropped everything and then even set up the ice cooler he had brought along to store all their food. He had placed several meals and drinks so that they could take breaks should they get tired. In addition, since it was a beach day, Ryuu decided to do something even better. He brought two surfboards with him so that he could teach Kyuu if she wanted to, but just to make it an amazing beach day, he decided to bring it out, and of course wax to go along with it. He had told the samurai to bring along a few floatation devices so that he could teach her how to swim. Swimming wasn’t too difficult, it just required one to get over the fear of water and the open sea. After he had set down the equipment, the assassin would look around and take in the entirety of the scenery. The good thing about this place was the fact that there weren’t 6 billion people occupying the planet, so the beaches weren’t filled with beach-goers, especially since it was summer. Because the beaches were so numerous, they had this entire section to themselves. From what he could see, there was no one around to bother them. The sea was clear and blue, amazingly so, as it was difficult to find such clear waters near the real London. In addition to that, the sun was just beginning to rise. Fishing and treasure hunting was best started in the morning, since you would be earlier than everyone and because it was when the fish were most active. In terms of treasure hunting, it increased the likelihood of getting a treasure. The sand was white and soft, but he had always hated walking on sand because it took so much more effort than regular walking, but with his new body and strength, it was much easier to traverse through it. He actually didn’t mind it anymore. “Alright, Kyuu… I’m going to go in the water to check it out… you can come near when you’ve set everything down and are ready to come in,” he said. He smiled at the female and then turned towards the sea and ran closer. It seemed that it was about time he started swimming again. It was one of his favorite pastimes, so he kind of missed it since he was stuck here. The assassin quickly ran into the water and began swimming as it got too deep for him to stand on the bottom. He turned around and yelled aloud towards Kyuu. “Come on in! The water is amazing!” he said.

So maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to go out in a red-orange bikini... first off, it was rather too cold for Caerbannog’s liking. And also, some perv kept staring at her. She would have punched his face in if the perv wasn’t her own boyfriend, the assassin Kumori. But perv was a strong word; he hadn’t really done anything remotely close to all of the eroge that the samurai had played. There was the repetitive kissing that he seemed to like doing in front of a lot of people, but so far, no more than that much to the wolf-hair’s relief. And it was wise of the young man to keep his hands to himself too, for Caerbannog had an aversion to what she called “2D activity”- that is, those things that she only ever saw in video games and manga. Any other girl would have blushed if their boyfriend called them cute, but oh no, not Caerbannog. They walked all the way to the Thames Coastline to hunt for treasure, not to waste time and so as a response to Kumori’s mushiness, the samurai summoned Hyzenthlay. A surprised ‘eep’ escaped the enemic buster’s cute mouth as she landed on the sandy coastline, a place which was unfamiliar to her. The samurai remembered clearly that the rabbit could not swim, just like her, but her summons could. “We’re going in the water. Can your friends help me out?” Caerbannog asked the silver-furred creature kindly. Hyzenthlay replied with a giggle and quick summoning of her frenmic rabbits. Who needs a floatation device when you have two fluffy bunnies? The frenmic rabbits bounded to the shallow waters and waited for Caerbannog to follow them and the assassin. They were ordered not to bash Kumori’s face in, so the young man was rather safe from harm. The view looked great and hopping into the water seemed fun, but the samurai was still wary of getting washed away into some place where she would be helpless. The wolf-hair put a hand up to the rabbits, meaning that they could stay on the coastline for a while, and then she walked out into deeper waters heading for Kumori. “Uhmm...” Caerbannog stopped just when the water reached her shoulders, “I don’t think I can go further...”

The animal tamer had summoned Hyzen, most likely to keep the assassin from doing anything that would show any sort of public display of affection even though this place unpopulated by other people. He sighed, but it wasn’t something he could help. At least the Enemic Buster didn’t destroy his face every time she was summoned (including her summons). The assassin proceeded into the water and waited for the samurai to follow suit. His girlfriend was so cute when she walked into the water and said she couldn’t go any further. He smirked and chuckled as she stopped where the water reached her shoulders. Ryuu slowly pushed off the ocean floor towards the samurai and then lifted his hand out of the water near her face so that she could grab it. “Don’t be afraid… I will be right here,” he said to her, “just hold on to my hand… I won’t let anything happen to you,” The assassin would wait for her to take his hand, and then after she did, the human would begin walking away from the shore towards deeper water. While Kyuu was significantly light already, the water made her even lighter, so pulling her along and keeping her afloat was no problem for him. He went to a point where she would be able to push off the ocean floor lightly to break the surface and breathe. The assassin then began to tell her the basics of swimming. “Swimming, the most basic thing is not to be afraid of the water and not to be afraid of going underwater. Now, put the frenmic rabbits under your arms so that they’ll help you swim, and make sure that they swim towards the shore so you don’t get pulled into the current,” he said. After the Frenmic Rabbits arrived, he’d turn towards the sea to look at the waves and the current difficulty of the waves. This area had little to no waves which made it a perfect place to teach the samurai how to swim. He then turned back around and smiled towards his girlfriend. “Alright, lovely… first, I’m going to teach you how to breathe when you’re swimming. Simply put your head in the water, and then when you need to breathe, turn your head to either your left or right, enough so that your mouth comes out of the water, take a deep breath, and then turn your head back to the floor of the ocean… Try not to let water through your nose. Breathe only through your mouth. If you need to, breathe out of your nose to keep water from entering,” he said. He then demonstrated it by standing on the floor and placing his head in the water. The top of his head still poked through the surface. After doing a few strokes with his arms, Ryuu would turn his head towards the arm that was retracted and then would take a breath. After demonstrating it a few times, the assassin then looked at the samurai to try to do the same. “Alright, try doing this, and then let me know if you have any trouble. If something happens, I’m right here to help you. For now, just ignore the strokes and practice breathing first,” he said.

Though they had been ordered to stay along the shallow waters, the frenmic rabbits still followed their summoner more than her tamer, and so when Hyzenthlay told them to move out, both summons jumped into the deeper waters behind Caerbannog. Their fuzzy little heads bobbed upon the river’s surface as their eyes darted from the samurai to the assassin. One wrong move and the young man would get it- a kick to the face, that is. The rabbits’ ears twitched in unison as Kumori spoke in a language that they could not understand. The worried look on Caerbannog’s face as she stared at the offered hand did not help matters one bit, and the rabbits would have attacked the assassin if the wolf-hair had not moved towards him of her own accord. Crisis was averted when Caerbannog finally put her hand in Kumori’s and the two ventured farther into the river. The frenmic rabbits hurriedly swam closer to the girl to make sure that she would stay afloat, and just as the assassin let her go, the fuzzy ones moved in front of her so that they could assist her. As Caer kicked off the river bed though, her foot slipped on something and so she grabbed the rabbits carelessly. Both creatures were pulled close towards her chest as the samurai closed her eyes and tried hard not to scream. “Mmmfffmph!” one of the summons protested. Caerbannog opened her eyes and noticed that she had clutched them too tightly against her breast, and both rabbits were unable to breath. She loosened her grasp only slightly, just enough for them to gasp for air. “PAH! I thought I was going to die!” said the rabbit to the tamer’s left side. “HAH! More!” exclaimed the rabbit to her right, and then it buried its face right into the samurai’s chest. The animal trainer did not think it odd for the rabbit to do that, but Hyzenthlay, from her spot on the riverbanks, was staring daggers at her summons. The more appropriate rabbit slapped his companion’s face away from the samurai. “Focus... FOCUS!” the not-too-pervy rabbit reminded his pervy friend. At that point, Caer was already ignoring the frenmic rabbits and just used them as floatation creatures. She listened to the assassin who spoke a lot, as usual, though this time it was warranted given the situation. The instruction was simple but to someone who had avoided having to swim all her life so far, the execution sounded complicated. The frenmic rabbits did not know how to help either, for they knew how to swim out of nowhere. Maybe it was an Elder-Tale-creature thing; then again, how come Hyzen could not swim? “I...” the wolf-hair looked at the rabbits and clutched them close to her again, “I don’t want to let go of the bunnies! I’ll drown!”

Unaware of the perverted rabbits, all Ryuu did was stay close by the samurai. Ryuu looked at her and smiled. “Alright, I’m going to lift your feet. It’ll feel weird, but try not to struggle and keep both feet together,” he said. He would place his left hand at her navel and then he would go under water to gently grab her left calf with his right hand. He would lift it steadily so that her stomach would float in the water. “Now, keep your head above water. This will strain your neck a bit, but it’ll help you get used to it. If your neck is getting tired, just put it in the water and don’t try to breathe in, but when you need to breathe, just pop your head up. If you want to try the breathing technique, then simply turn your head to one side and breathe in when your mouth breaks the surface,” he said to her. Once she complied, he would monitor how she breathed and how she would swim, giving the occasional push to make put her in the right position. He would also start telling her to move her arms in a free-style way. That way she would be able to learn the stroke of the freestyle. If she succeeded, then he would teach her how to kick, but it all depended on how well she took to being taught how to swim. “You won’t drown, Kyuu… I’m here, right next to you, okay? Believe in me,” he said while smiling.

Once Kumori took charge of the situation, the frenmic rabbits had to move away. They did not like it one bit, especially the rabbit who wanted more touchy-feely time, but Caerbannog already gestured for them to move to the side and so all they could do was comply. Well, they could try to interfere, but then Hyzenthlay might get angry and no one would want that, right? Angry Hyzen was not nice Hyzen... well, no Hyzen was ever nice Hyzen except when it involved her tamer, but that’s a discussion for another time. Back to the task at hand, the assassin was doing fairly well at instructing the wolf-hair, partially because he seemed to be a good teacher and partially because Caerbannog was already zoning out and just followed everything to the letter. In her mind, she was trying to forget that she was in the water and that she could drown, though the next few steps made it very difficult for her to do that. Just when she was able to stay afloat on her own while being upright, Kumori moved on to the next phase which was to make the samurai float with her stomach to the water. Or at least, that was the objective. As soon as Kumori pushed her legs upward, the samurai flailed around in the water. The suggestion to not breathe while in the water or to move her head sideways to get some air did not help either. The assurance that she would not drown went unheard for Kyuu already gulped a mouthful of water and at that point she was just struggling to stay alive. The frenmic rabbits wanted to move in to help but the wolf-hair moved around too much for them to do anything. Eventually, Caer noticed that the closest thing that she could cling to was nothing else but Kumori, and so she reached out and tried to put her arms over his shoulders. “I DON’T WANT TO DIE! WAAAAAAAAA!” she wailed.

The samurai began climbing all over him as she began flailing her arms. Her arms reached over his shoulders, and she pulled her head out of the water. Ryuu’s hands held her at her lower back. He looked down at Kyuu and kissed her on the forehead. “Hey… you’re not going to die. I’m here to make sure that doesn’t happen... Just trust me, and I promise you won’t drown, okay?” he said. He held onto her until she would push off against him or until she decided that she’d attempt to do it again. Ryuu let her go at the pace she wished to go at. Swimming wasn’t an easy thing to learn. He had swam his entire life, but he remembered that when he was learning to swim, he had hated it. His worst area of swimming was diving while he was younger, but his mother had threatened that the only thing he’d be allowed to eat if he chickened out was bread crust. Swimming eventually became something he came to enjoy. It was relaxing and allowed him some peace and quiet. He couldn’t hear anything while he was in the water, and that’s what made it amazing. Ryuu waited for her to be emotionally ready for the task at hand. She must have had a trauma when she was younger about swimming. Well, in any case, he had to try to teach her how to swim, or else looking for treasure alone would be no fun. “You can do it Kyuu… I believe in you, and I’m right here making sure nothing will ever happen to you,”

--I’m scared... so scared...--The samurai’s thoughts leaked out via telepathic call once again. Words that she did not want to say, but made their way to the intended recipient anyway. It did not happen just with anyone, and not with everyone, but only with Ryuu. Perhaps it was because she trusted him that it became difficult for her to hide her thoughts from the young man, and it did not help that she was horrible at managing her game interface. Even keeping the HUD from blocking her view was a chore at times to her, and so in her moment of confusion and fear, everything was all over Kyuu’s face. The skills list, the friends list, her inventory- everything; and that made things all the more confusing for the girl. The kiss to her forehead brought the wolf-hair back to her senses momentarily. Or at least, long enough for her to remove the clutter which only she could see. She collected her thoughts little by little, but still clung to the assassin with her arms around his shoulders and her hands clasped together behind him. She looked up at Ryuu as he spoke and found his voice relaxing, reassuring. As the samurai looked up at her dear friend, now her lover, a strange feeling welled up inside her. Strange simply because she’d not felt it before. Maybe it was due to the stark contrast between the coldness of the river’s water and the warmth of the adventurer before her, or the way that he looked at her worriedly but still with a calm gaze. Kyuu’s cheeks turned a bright red when a desire crossed her mind, but instead of the thought leaking out via telepathy, the girl admitted it to herself: she wanted to kiss Ryuu. Still with her arms over his shoulders, Kyuu moved her face closer to the young man’s until her lips touched his. She did not close her eyes, wanting to see how he would react. The kiss was only momentary, and she pulled away soon after... only for her arms to embrace him tighter as the samurai pressed her body against the assassin’s warmth. Underwater, her legs began to move less erratically; less like panicked kicks and more like the motions for staying afloat and eventually for swimming. With no distance between them, the blue-eyed adventurer kissed her boyfriend again. This time, her eyes were closed and her lips lingered on his for more than a moment. His breath was warm and was just as soothing as his voice, and Kyuu soon forgot that they were even in the water. At the riverside, Hyzenthlay watched the scene with both front paws on her mouth. If rabbits could blush, she would have done so already. Her frenmic rabbit summons were equally speechless as the kiss went on for much longer, and the samurai did not seem to be intent on pulling away any time soon. Hey, at least Caerbannog was no longer flailing like a drowning cat in the River Thames.

After he had kissed her forehead, the samurai calmed down. Ryuu looked at the girl in front of him who had begun to relax. When she looked into his eyes, he was confused as to what she was thinking, but before he could do anything, she pulled herself up, closer to Ryuu, straddling him and bringing her face close to his. Her lips barely touched the edge of his laps. He wasn’t ready for it, so his eyes were still open, as were hers. His eyes opened wider in surprise. He didn’t even know she was about to do that. Usually when she was nervous, she would’ve communicated it accidentally, telepathically. To Ryuu, this meant she was getting more comfortable. After she pulled away, Ryuu could only smile at his lover. Before he could say much more, she closed her eyes as she kissed him again, this time Ryuu did the same, closing his eyes and kissing her. He then began doing what she had done to him on multiple occasions, telepathic communication, but not accidentally. Kyuu… why are you so cute? he thought and said. He lowered the both of them into the water and kept her hands on his shoulders, but moved away from her lower body. While she was kissing him, Ryuu dragged her gently towards a deeper section of the river, until he wasn’t able to touch the bottom of the river anymore. He used his legs to keep himself up, but the fact that the samurai was also using her legs meant that she did not have to work as hard. Ryuu then pulled away from her and then broke the kiss as he ducked away into the water. It was meant to be a tease, but it was also to show that she was swimming fine. Her legs were strong enough to keep her light body afloat without the need of using her arms. His voice was still in her head. “See, Kyuu? You can do it,” he said. He then used his arms to show her how to use the arms to swim. He put one hand up and kept the fingers closed so that there were no crack in between his fingers. “Keep your hands like this, and you’ll be able to push yourself. Your hands are the things you use to steer. To swim under the water, you want to keep your hands with the same motion,” he said. He thrust his hands forward so that the palms were facing each other, turned his wrists out and bend his elbows to retract the arms so that it’d push him forward. He then thrust them forward again above water so that she could see what it looked like and then retracted them again. “Now watch me as I go under water. Just put your face under the water and watch. You won’t be able to breathe underwater, so keep your mouth closed and don’t breathe with your nose,” he said. He went under and then he would swim to the bottom, showing how to kick as well. The legs emulated the arms as best as it could. The stroke was as close to the breast stroke as possible. Why it was called the breast stroke, who really knew?

The samurai wasn’t exactly sure how she did it, but finally she was floating calmly in the river. Perhaps she owed it to the rabbits who had tried their best to assist her earlier, or maybe it was all because of Ryuu who was patiently teaching her. In any case, Kyuu felt more sure of herself once she began to float without any untoward incident and the assassin’s instructions sounded easier to follow. Of course, it wasn’t without a problem or two. When Kyuu tried to emulate what Ryuu was doing, she nearly gulped down a mouthful of water but she soon corrected herself without panicking. The assassin’s motions were simple enough and the wolf-hair’s body complied too. Perhaps it was a feature of Elder Tale, that adventurers would be able to do basic things such as swimming and jumping around like ninjas with no problem at all- save for when they went ballistic. Kyuu followed the assassin farther into the river Thames. She was unsure of where to go though, and so telepathically- and this time of her own accord- she asked him a question. “Where to?”Close to the adventurer’s, Hyzenthlay’s summons swam and escorted the samurai. They did not move in too close, feeling a somewhat oppressing presence from the assassin… as if an area around him was his territory and his girlfriend was not to be touched by anyone if he was nearby. Of course, it was only animal instinct that influenced the frenmic rabbits, for Ryuu did not really do or say anything mean or rude to them. As for the samurai, she continued to mimic Ryuu’s actions, finding it easier to move in the water as they swam farther away from the riverside.
