[attr="class","ws"] [attr="class","h"]Maximillion [attr="class","fc"] [attr="class","bi"]REAL NAME: Max [attr="class","bi2"]REAL GENDER: Male [attr="class","bi2"]GENDER: Male [attr="class","bi2"]AGE: 27 [attr="class","bi2"]SEXUALITY: Pansexual [attr="class","bi2"]FACE-CLAIM: Original/Tweaks [attr="class","bi2"]PLAYED BY: Hanshin [attr="class","h2"]Appearance [attr="class","b"] Maximillion is tall, dark complected, with yellow-gold eyes. He has dark brown hair and tends to dress in the attire of a Nobleman. He stands with his shoulders squared, often opting for the melodrama of ‘poise’ and ‘grace’, although he’s the furthest thing from being an actual Aristocrat, just favoring a certain ‘flair’ about his actions and movements. He tends to stick to garb consisting of the colors Purple, Black, Gold and Red (in order of favorite), with red usually being little more than trim on a jacket, the colors of his buttons, etc. He has often jokingly been called ‘The Purple Mystic’ due to his attire always consisting primarily of the color purple. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"] Maximillion’s primary mode of living is focused inwardly, where he deals with people and things according to how he feels about them, or how they fit into his value system. His secondary mode is external, in a sense that he takes things in primarily by intuition, relying upon experience-honed instincts, as well as inherent instincts. As someone of a self-proclaimed ‘Neutral Good’ alignment, he’s focused on making the world a nicer place for others, and finding out their own meaning in life. He has a strong, (sometimes) almost pathological desire/need to help others. He is an idealist and perfectionist who is goal-driven, even if his goals may sometimes be out-of-sync with that of his friends or acquaintances. Maximillion is highly intuitive about people, and relies heavily upon his instincts to guide him in his dealings with others. Every encounter represents a cluster of ‘data’ or ‘knowledge’ that he takes pleasure in processing, and sorting into his value system. Much of his behavior is characteristic of a Visionary or Activist, always seeming inclined to side with the Underdog in a conflict, rather than whomever is in power. However, when something of great importance is at stake, he’s been known to forego his own bias in favor of contributing towards ‘the greater good’. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"] Max, in the real world, grew up an Army Brat and an only child. While his upbringing gave him regular exposure to different people in different countries and different cultures, it also afforded him parents who were exceptionally strict in his upbringing, and a mother who was controlling and overbearing. Max was always a visionary, and someone who was moved by his intuition and instincts, which were always sharper than those of his peers. Whereas most geniuses were renown for having exceptional math skills and the ability to deduce things based on data and analysis, Max would often come by the same knowledge and strategies, merely by listening to someone explain the situation (or studying up on the matter), and following his ‘gut instinct’ on the matter. To most, since this wasn’t backed by the same mathematical processes as the stereotypical ‘genius’, he was just an impulsive boy who acted on his emotions and didn’t put much thought into things. But, truth be told, Max was always one who strove for what he felt was right, and what had meaning to him, rather than what everyone else was doing. Into adulthood, Max found himself more drawn to scenarios where he socialized and interacted with people, and learned from them and their experiences. After graduating high school, he would take up academic textbooks for pleasure and develop a ‘self-taught’ path of study, where he would only study things that were of interest to him, for free, and without the obligation of paying some institute or organization for the knowledge, tuition costs, etc. However, as time went on, he began to realize he needed to find more ‘purpose’ in life, and didn’t want stuck with awful jobs that nobody else wanted, so he sought to return to school. Elder Tale was an escape for him, a system where he could SEE the progress he was making, and actually have something to show for his efforts, even on a ‘slow day’…whereas he saw ‘the offline world’ as lacking any substantial measures of progress, and instead having a number of vague, general references people could gauge their progress by. When the Apocalypse came, Max saw it as both a blessing and a disaster. It was disastrous, because he began to worry what would happen to his life ‘in the real world’, as he’d read plenty of fictional books about players of Virtual Reality games whose bodies would atrophy and die over time. However, he saw it as a blessing because his life finally had *meaning* and *purpose*, and his day-to-day actually would have solid, reliable NUMBERS for him to gauge his progression by. With this skill, the Adventurer's natural affinity is idealized into a tangible form. While this toggle skill is active, the character will be able to communicate with animals and monsters. Incoming speech by monsters will appear as subtitles at the bottom of the user's vision. There is a huge variance between being able to notice this effect and actually using it effectively, however. "Nice to meet you" is not the same thing as "Look, fresh meat", for example. At lower levels, the user of this skill will very often mishear monsters' speech and mispronounce their own words, mistakes that might cause hostility if used incorrectly. However, as the user gradually gains experience, they will be able to negotiate with monsters more easily. The Animal Trainer, Fisherman, Druid classes are more aligned with the power of nature and thus higher success rates are gained if the user is one or more of these classes. Monsters at a lower level compared to the user's highest class level also are easier to communicate with. [attr="class","skill"]Beatdown: Tier I Skill A toggle-activated monk ability that grants the monk a gradual increase in damage and attack speed for every opponent they defeat. This skill utilizes a combo system, where after about a minute if the user had not gotten another kill, the effect is canceled. [attr="class","skill"]Carving: Toggle skill. Artisans have a certain affinity with carving stone, making their normal artistic talents not to be underestimated in battle. Artisans deal 20% more damage to Rock-type monsters. They can also ignore defense buffs on Rock-type monsters. [attr="class","skill"]Allure: A toggle skill that can be used anytime in a conversation with People of the Land. It allows the Courtesan to smooth over any mistakes and retain the target's attention. Often, this skill can also be used to obtain information that would otherwise require long interrogation. Allure's effect scales with the Courtesan's subclass level, becoming more effective at higher levels.
