The bangs of her hair are longer than normal but not outrageous, simply "wild" looking, looking like a Wolf Hair in real life. The only feature that differs from her real life self, and only in length, is her hair. This is intentional so that "she" could dress however she pleased when she played. To keep it out her face and way it's usually tied back with 3 scrunchies, a necessity due to it's length. This alongside 3 red chopsticks and it never falls out, adding 3 feathers as ornaments. For special occasions Mariella wears it in a braidhawk. Her skin is lightly tanned, and can be described as fine olive oil, and she's built well, not gaudy with muscle but rather increased muscle and nice tone. Simply to compliment a womanly body. Standing at 5'1, she isn't intimidating due to height but rather due to the bits of masculinity in her swagger, which helps convey her strength. Her eyes are a warm brown and near yellow, holding a serious shape with heavy eyeliner and a bit of color in the lips. While her face is pretty she tends to makes more "manly" faces due to eyebrows etc, with her eyebrows not being large but rather not having ALL the work girls usually put into them. Only simple maintenance. Her appearance physically is near exactly like her real self, however only in body. Everything Mariella wears is actually nearly opposite to what she'd wear in real life. Information that is not apparent, but she is willing to share if asked. Why there is a difference, no one really knows but her. With her natural stances and movements being far less flashy and feminine, and more masculine. She can be described as a prime example of a Kabukimono. A group whom she has great admiration for. To elaborate on that, she dresses in a manner similar to them. She wears her hair in a typical feminine way. Being a girly girl that never quite got to truly be one. She wears a short yellow boys kimono over most of her red armor, and red samurai pants, and then follows that by using a long black girls kimono more like a coat. The armor that does show are her gauntlets, grieves and tasset. Unlike most Samurai who use Katana she has a preference for Nodachi, and like a Kabukimono it features an oddly large tsuba. The sheath clips on due to the length of the weapon, which she keeps on her lower back, secured by her purple rope belt when not in use. The knot is weird for people that don't know it but causes her no problems in removing it and it appears twice in securing the sheath. The first to separate it from her clothes and the second to hold up her clothes and whatnot. She wears samurai tabi and traditional sandals. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"] Truly a scholar in her appreciation of knowledge, believing that there is no problem that cannot be solved through sheer cunning and quickness of thought. Yet she is a barbarian in practice. Not in the sense that she cannot utilize her knowledge. More that she isn't the type to be bothered by a problem till it's an actual problem. Then she quickly formulates a cruder form of her plans. It's her cleverness which has served her well, bolstered by an ability to make the direct into the indirect and the indirect into the obvious. If she would serve one function, it would be turning loss into gain that she'd be best utilized. These things make her a charismatic speaker and wise thinker... Sometimes. Often those that figure out the type of person she is tend to be suspicious of her, many see her as a schemer. Mainly because people assume the worse and it's hard to tell if she's planning something. In return she assumes a lacking intelligence in these people and disregards them usually. To Mariella, something is what it is, nothing else, yet everything is essentially the same. She explains this as a method of understanding the world, she calls it the Method of Ego and Atoms to Vibration. A utilizing of antimony. To simplify this concept: No matter how much an ego can differentiate a person from another, every person is but a collection of atoms doing roughly the same thing at any given time, so no matter how you break it down we are all essentially the same, vibrations merely shaking each other up. She vigorously applies this method to problem solving, or even just figuring out if something is actually a problem. To her the whole should always equal the parts, and the parts should always add up to the whole. She has a deep love for books and the strategists of old, she will study an enemy just as a general would study an army. She does not go looking for victory either, she prefers to trick her enemies into just giving it to her. How she does this may seem counter-intuitive to her mindset, yet to her it is all part of the plan. She will show very little of her hand and try and steal from others. Not stealing objects, but methods, if you can do something she can't or can do something better she will work off of you to improve herself. Even going as far as to spit on peoples hard work by stealing there ideas, making minor improvements and countering with her similar yet more effective "new" method. If all humans are greedy, then stealing ability is how hers manifests. She shows signs of having self-esteem and confidence problems. However these signs are never outright. Having spent her life being picked on, then coming to a world where she is essentially immortal has had a very liberating effect on her. This is the kind of world she can thrive in. However old habits die hard, and this is one of the most effective ways to chip away at her strength, through feelings of doubt, worry and insecurity she can be rendered ineffective. She can be essentially useless, if these are thrown at her at the same time as a large number of small problems. She hates being percieved as masculine. In terms of "the bedroom" she is pansexual. Being secluded during important developmental years has effectively starved her for attention in that right. She has very little resistance to these things, because she just doesn't know what to do. Though there is a preference for women, due to her romantic feelings being homosexual. She reacts to such "intense" situations with extremes. If she finds them not attractive she puts up a fierce resistance, if attractive she has very little if no resistance at all. This is another weakness of hers, though it's not as bad as her self-esteem issues. To try and fit a star into a square mold is never good. She had many friends, some of which may be in Elder Tale right now. However with a personality and intelligence such as hers holding onto all of them isn't so easy. This is actually what made her life difficult. Accidentally leaving behind and offending people who in the future had more influence due to popularity. She wasn't in the upper echelons either, so when her old "friends" started teasing her there was nothing she could do, not without fear of retribution. Like a flower in the dark she began to wilt, her brazen tone softened, her eccentric style and manner tamed. She liked looking beautiful, but she couldn't... The nail that sticks out gets hammered. Her social life took a big hit and she has only dated a single person, this being a classmate. Mariella retreated into her studies and work for this reason, managing to get a proper education, taking botany as a hobby. She filled her head with books, reading tome after tome of knowledge... Trying to fix things. The savage efficiency of the Aztecs, the technologies of Greece and Rome, mastery of politics in Europe, the philosiphies of the east and much more. At this time Mariella discovered the tales of the Kabukimono... Outcast samurai, ronin, and wanderers whom formed gangs as close as families. They were brazen, openly defiant, counter-culture, and yet they had loyalty and honor just as great as anyone else. She could in many ways relate to them. When she began Elder Tale on the British servers, she allowed her long lasting love for the Kabukimono convince her to be a Samurai. Then it came... The Apocalypse. Mariella had been a gamer for a while. At first out of curiosity, then just to keep her strategy sharp. She even bounced from server to server and has been an avid player for quite a while, enjoying it's earlier forms with family. Her dad introduced her to the game Elder Tale very young, using it as a method for bonding. They were "nerds in arms" more than Father and Daughter. Both of them were into anime, manga... The whole shebang. She even has a weeboo phase, though she got over it. While it could mean many things, her first words when she realized she was immortal was "25 is too long to live."
