He's just below average height, but by no means is he short. If anything, he's below the threshold by just enough to blend in unnoticed with a crowd. Regarding build, Terrence isn't very notable in that regard either. He possesses the body type you'd expect of someone who doesn't get much exercise, but is active enough to keep from resembling a tub of fat personified and doesn't eat enough to develop much fat. That is to say, Terrence is rather thin for a person his age - perhaps unhealthily so. but not quite enough for it to stand out. Terrence tends to try and dress in plainer outfits - nothing more gaudy than a plain top and trousers. The type of top varies depending on the whether, but the colour rarely deviates from blues, greens, and the occasional black. Grey can be included in the mix sometimes, but only when he's feeling adventurous. Oddly enough, Terrence always seems to wear trousers without fail, unless the weather is so hot wearing them becomes unbearable. And they're always the same colour - beige. He understands that they're not particularly exciting, but to him, the practicality of clothing is evidently more important than its style. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"] Terrence's personality is a hard one to define - outside of battle, at least. Sometimes, he's about as attentive as a potato, and will gaze off into the distance if he decides he isn't interested. At other times, he'll be the one focussing on the subject the hardest. Whether he seems to be paying attention or not does not seem to have any bearing on how much information he absorbs, though. He is perfectly capable of pretending not to care while listening in, but for reasons only he seems to know, Terrence sometimes chooses to put up a façade. Perhaps it's because he just likes to mess with people. Perhaps it's a defence mechanism of some sort. Who knows? Terrence is the type to be fickle about his mood - and to be fickle about being fickle about his mood as well. One minute he'll be making awful puns and getting along swimmingly with everyone, and in the next, he'll be scowling like his life depended on it. His moods can last for days, or they can last for minutes. It's hard to tell how he's going to feel unless you poke the conversation in a direction you know will make him feel a certain way. Even then, it's not a sure thing. He's smarter than he lets on, after all. Not by much, but enough. It's easy to predict how he'll act when he's battling, however. He's the kind of person you value having on your team, but don't trust as a team leader. Terrence is the kind of person to study a monster briefly to learn its weaknesses, and not much else. He only ever forms a plan when he feels like it, and it's unlikely that it'll be very detailed. However, his knowledge could be of great help to someone who was a capable strategist and/or tactician. In short, Terrence makes a great idea because of his knowledge, but a terrible leader because he can't do anything with it. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"] Terrence was not born in any particularly special circumstances. Neither of his parents died before he was born, he wasn't chosen for any sort of prophecy - essentially, he was just another baby in the ward. His father worked for an IT firm, and his mother taught PE at a primary school. Overall, it didn't seem like anything would be out of place for him. And, for the first few years of his life, nothing was. He grew up nice and healthy, if a little quiet. By other children's standards, anyway - his parents will likely tell you a different story. However, the complete mediocrity of Terrence's life began to wear away at him. It was fine when he was young - he didn't know any better. He could just do whatever it was that children do to be amused. But age brought deeper levels of thought. He began to become more and more aware of just where his life was going. The progressions of his thoughts was slow, but like many things, it was inevitable. He never told anyone, so he never heard anyone else's opinions to counter his own. If you could see into his mind, you'd know that such a lack of competition made a huge impact on him. The years went by, and the mediocrity of his life worked its way into his mind. Every aspect of his life always seemed to be satisfactory, but never anything more. School, social interactions, his personality... Nothing stood out. And it affected him. It wasn't enough to drive him insane, but it was easy to tell that he needed a change in his life. He became more withdrawn. He'd get aggressive at times, even without provocation. And that was just the tip of the iceberg. Terrence needed an outlet, something to keep his mind racing, to keep him occupied. Then, Log Horizon came around. Somehow, it managed to set itself apart form other MMOs - to him, at least. He began to get more and more into it, studying whatever aspects of it he could. He didn't have the game, but from videos and reviews alone, he was intrigued. He studied the game's mechanics, examined the weapons - he read up on everything he could. Not that he remembered a lot of it by the time the game came into his possession, but it was safe to say that it intrigued him. And this was the boy that hadn't been interested in anything for years.
