[attr="class","ws"] [attr="class","h"]Tyonis [attr="class","fc"] [attr="class","bi"]REAL NAME: Steven Barnett [attr="class","bi2"]REAL GENDER: Male [attr="class","bi2"]GENDER: Male [attr="class","bi2"]AGE: 26 [attr="class","bi2"]SEXUALITY: Heterosexual [attr="class","bi2"]FACE-CLAIM: Archer (EMIYA), Fate Stay Night [attr="class","bi2"]PLAYED BY: Fire Lotus [attr="class","bi2"]FACTION: Adventurer [attr="class","h2"]Appearance [attr="class","b"] Push it into the next phase DPS! Make this check..! Still waiting on that tailoring Overskill... White doesn't look that bad either... Tyonis is fairly tall, standing at almost 6 feet. His fox fur matches his hair, a silver-white, but he normally uses his racial skill to keep his animalistic features hidden. When out of combat he prefers to dress as casually as possible, often appearing as a squire or even as mundane as the People of the Land. His appearance is actually modeled after a picture of his fencing instructor, taken several decades ago. Because of his choice in skin and hair color, he prefers to wear dark garments like black, red, purple, and brown. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"]Alignment: Lawful Neutral This alignment best suits Tyonis because of his fierce adherence to cardinal virtues but not necessarily to a governing authority or public opinion. Mannerisms: Ultimately, Tyonis is a very modest person. Not quite stoic but he prefers to listen and act rather than speak. He is a martial artist at heart, studying the Liechtenauer style of German fencing. He has a very disciplined and methodical mindset in combat, lending itself greatly to the Samurai class, which requires personal and peripheral hindsight. He tries to be kind as often as he can, but when provoked he shows a mean streak highlighted by snide comments and cynicism. When pushed too far, he has resorted to PK'ing the same person over and over again 'for the lawlz.' In a previous MMO, he was the Main Tank in his guild's raiding static as well as the Raid Leader and Playcaller, so he is willing to step up and lead a group if necessary. Instances when he is required to lead, he will often defer to established stratagems instead of pioneering new ones. While this makes him a consistent leader on a predictable battlefield, his adaptability to extreme changes is lacking and often leads to repeated raid wipes until he is able to discern a constant pattern. Gaming Philosophy: Tyonis is a "Hardcore Endgame Progression Player" but he is not a "World First Progressionist" meaning, while he enjoys the challenge of tackling unbeaten endgame content, he has no real desire to be World First. As an progressionist, his entire playstyle revolves around min-maxing his character stats. He has no real interest in PvP or story quests. The latter of which he greatly regrets since logging onto Elder Tale, since he has nearly no knowledge of the game's setting or major NPCs. He prefers "Skill Tanking" over "Stat Tanking," favoring parry and dodge mechanics over being a simple meatshield. To that end, he chose the Samurai over Guardian, as it is a class capable of defeating monsters several levels higher than the player and can provide high burst damage during boss DPS checks. He originally liked the idea of Evasion Tanking with a Monk, but ultimately decided that burst damage would be more useful during tight DPS checks as opposed to consistent damage over the entire battle. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"] Before transferring to Elder Tale, Tyonis played another widely popular MMO originating from America. There, he was introduced to the core elements of MMORPGs and even became a Raid Leader for his Guild. But as time went on, the game began to tailor to a more casual audience, dumbing down content and reducing the game to a gloried social media. Eventually, Tyonis, like many gamers, grew bored of the trend and, with the advent of Elder Tale's newest expansion, opted to switch games for a change of pace and environment. He was drawn to Elder Tale because of the JRPG genre and its tendencies to be intricately challenging while still being relatively easy to pick up. Tyonis lived a fairly average life. Being an accountant paid the bills in exchange for slowly killing his soul. His one true hobby outside of video game escapism was European longsword fencing. The skills he gained over his training would show their merit after the Apocalypse. It is for this reason that he wields Europeon weaponry despite playing the Samurai class. [attr="class","h3"]Extra [attr="class","b"]TVTropes: An Adventurer Is You - Tyonis, Steven Barnett, in real life, lived in America then moved to Germany for medical school. He flunked out thanks to his gaming addiction and became an accountant. The Doctor - Subverted. Pharmacist subclass. Also an ex-medical student. The Leader/Strategist - A Raid Leader from a different MMO (Long)Swords Are Just Better - Tyonis prefers to use a longsword or polearms Slice and Dice Swordsmanship - As a European fencer, Tyonis prefers to combine thrusting and slashing. Since European swordsmanship also focused on defeating plate-armored foes, his attacks are orientated to concussive force, like hilt smashes. The Avoidance Tank - Tyonis' role in a party is to tank and to assist with DPS checks. Counter Attack - Tyonis' intended endgame build revolves around skill-based survivability. Duel Wielding - Traditional European fencing often used a main hand weapon and a parrying knife. Iaijutsu Practitioner - With a European twist. Good is Not Nice - He'll PK you over and over and over again if you push is buttons too much. Petting Zoo People - Has a silver-white fox tail. Challenge Seeker - Tyonis is an endgame progressionist at heart. Dark-Skinned Blond - Also see, You Gotta Have White Hair. Image Song - Rise Animal Motifs - Fox Tail race. Lawful Neutral - He follows his own rules and, to a certain extent, the society around him. Rage Quit - He quit his previous MMO after growing bored of the content. |

It comes with the disadvantage of expending battle momentum completely, however. Despite that, this skill is one of the most basic and effective defensive techniques of the Warrior classes. Parry has an animation time of 1 second and a cooldown of 5 seconds. This cooldown is doubled to 10 seconds if used by any other class. [attr="class","skill"]Sword Rain Flurry: The user pierces the target in rapid succession, usually amounting to a single initiating strike plus an additional one every 10 levels. Sword Rain Flurry is an adapted version of the Swashbuckler's Dart-Tack Target, only performed with the intention of damaging the target rather than simply diverting its attention. Despite its name, this skill can be performed with any weapon type although thrusting-type weapons often perform most optimally. Each strike deals a moderate amount of damage, but the main downside is that the user is locked into this animation until the move is completed. This skill has an animation time of 0.5 seconds per strike. It's cooldown time is 10 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Bushido: Iaido (Art of the Draw): Passive. Samurai have a honed and disciplined mind. Their visualization and training enable their first strike when their katana is drawn from the sheath to deal additional damage and threat. A Samurai is granted a free Iaido strike before performing a Chain 1 ability or after completing a Chain 3 or higher ability. This skill can only activate once per chain. This strike does not break the chain, allowing the Samurai to perform a skill in the same turn. [attr="class","skill"]Ace Move: Bushi Chousen (Samurai's Challenge): Tier I Skill Chain 1. When used, resets any current Chain to 0. If an opponent performed an attack on you between this turn and your next turn, raise your Chain by 1. A move often used to start the battle. The Samurai issues a valiant taunt toward all enemies in the immediate area, challenging them to take up arms in a grand duel of honor. The animation of this skill is somewhat flashy and when it was a game, there were even videos of fandubs speculating what the samurai might have said. Needless to say, it carries on in this game too. After this skill is used, no other party members can be directly targeted for attacks until the beginning of your next turn. This skill has an animation time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 20 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Ace Move: Go no Sen (Early Bird, Night Owl): Tier I Skill Chain 1. Starts or resets the current Chain. Does nothing if the opponent targeted the player with a magic attack. This ace move follows after the basic concept of Parry, except that it is used in an aggressive manner to build up momentum. The user predicts an oncoming attack and counters it by striking the opponent's weapon with their weapon and then pushing onward into an attack of their own. Gonosen is typically performed with a melee weapon, but its concept can also be used to deflect an opponent's arrow by shooting it off-course. To deflect ranged attacks in this manner, the Samurai must obviously be equipped with a bow. This skill has an animation time of 1 second and a cooldown of 20 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Ace Move: Shunsen (Flashwave): Tier I Skill Chain 2. Usable after Chain 1 skills. Shunsen is a quick and sudden horizontal slash that cuts the air and forms a cutting wave vacuum which deals additional damage. Unlike Izunagiri, this pressure field is stationary and essentially serves as a deterrent to opponents' melee attacks for the duration of the technique. This technique has a fan-shaped area of effect, making it an excellent technique to dispatch enemies standing in close proximity. This skill's attribute is wind, has an animation time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 20 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Fall Defense: Tier I Adventurer Skill A toggle skill that is acquired by the character's natural reflexes and physical coordination. By knowing the most effective ways to recover from a fall while sustaining as little damage as possible, these characters take 20% less damage from fall damage occurring from falls at heights of 3 meters or higher. This reduction changes to 30% when the character reaches Level 30, 40% at Level 60, and 50% at Level 90. [attr="class","skill"]Magnum Shot: Tier I Adventurer Skill Bow skill. The user pulls the string of the bow with great force and fires an arrow at the target. The force of the impact causes the monster to be knocked back up to several meters depending on its size. This skill gains a lot of aggro if it successfully hits an opponent. While considerably more difficult, it's said that some archers use this skill at point-blank range while tanking a monster's attacks in order to control its position. This skill has an animation time of 3 seconds and a cooldown time of 6 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Quick Swap: Tier I Adventurer Skill A skill that facilitates the quick switching of weapons from the user's equipment to their inventory. While many characters use quick slots in order to swap out their weapons, this requires a manual action. The use of Quick Swap does this exchange automatically. This switching can only be done with two equipment sets at a time, both of which are registered prior to the start of battle. When Quick Swap is used, the current equipment set will be swapped out to the other set designated by the skill. Due to the nature of this skill, it is best used by characters of the Weapon Specialist classes. This skill has an animation time of 1 second. Its cooldown if used by a Weapon Specialist class is 30 seconds which increases to 60 seconds if used by any other class. [attr="class","skill"]Hearing Aptitude: Tier I Skill A toggle skill that improves the character's hearing perception. Whispers can be heard from about 2 meters away, conversations can be heard up to 10 meters away, and the hearing range of the most distant sounds are doubled. It is a very effective skill for the sake of gathering intel and eavesdropping. [attr="class","skill"]Ace Move: Kodama-kaeshi (Rebounding Echo): Tier I Skill Chain X. Usable at any time, copies the Chain number of the previous Ace Move for the duration of the turn. If the previous move was a Chain X skill or if the user did not use an Ace Move during their previous turn, this skill becomes Chain 1 for the duration of the turn. Kodamakaeshi is a sudden shift into a counterattacking position once the user has been struck by a target's attack. By sacrificing a bit of their momentum, they are able to react with lightning reflexes and deliver a blow of their own. This skill has an animation time of 0.5 seconds and a cooldown of 30 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Ace Move: Zantetsuken (Steel-Cutting Blade): Tier I Skill Chain 1. Starts or resets the current Chain. A Samurai technique that's well-known not for its offensive abilities, but its utility purposes. This skill causes the Samurai's weapon to flash a bright red color as they slash a target. If this target is a living creature or monster, it deals pitifully single-digit damage. However, inanimate objects such as doors and walls will take heavy damage from the blow, and the terrain can be cut up by this technique. Use this skill when you need to cut yourself an alternate route. Its low cooldown makes it more of the more practical skills to take for Samurai who don't care much for combat. This skill has an animation time of 1 seconds and a cooldown of 5 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Ace Move: Bishamon Keshin (Vaisravana Visage): Tier II Skill Chain 3. Usable after Chain 2 skills. A powerful aggro-seizing ability that can be used after accumulating enough battle momentum. This skill causes the Samurai's body to glow with a bright light, rapidly regenerating HP over 20 seconds. At the same time, this visual effect induces monsters to aggro the Samurai on sight. Because the sustained HP serves as an offset to an increased aggro, this skill is often favored in party situations for tanking purposes. This skill has a casting time of 3 seconds and its cooldown is 60 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Dextox: Pharmacists have developed a certain resistance around drugs. This skill can be toggled to make a pharmacist immune to status debuffs caused by potions. Additionally, they passively recover twice as fast from poison status effects. [attr="class","skill"]Level 11 Skill Divine Ward: This skill requires an open space of at least six feet around the Exorcist in all directions, ignoring obstacles. The Exorcist's palm glows as they strike the ground, forming a magic circle with a radius of five feet around the Exorcist for a minute. All Undead or Spirit monsters within the boundary are blown out of the boundary and take constant damage as long as they are within the boundary. This skill's duration is 75 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Holy Banishment:: The Exorcist covers their palm in a glowing light and points at a target, releasing a semi-transparent laser forward. If the target was an aggressive monster, they drop aggro on the party for a few moments and may even retreat. If the target is an Undead or Spirit monster, or if they are weak to abilities of the Light element, then this skill knocks them back and deals light damage. It has a cast time of 1 second and a cooldown time of 10 seconds, and its potency increases with a higher Wisdom stat and Exorcist level./ [attr="class","h3"]Equipment [attr="class","b2"] [attr="class","skill"]Armor: Heroic Cuirass of the Black Night (Lv 20) A sleeveless piece of blackened armor that is filled with the power of a magical entity. This entity makes the user feel much lighter than they usually would, increasing their movement. This armor is comprised of two pieces, which are tied together by a series of extremely strong and durable links. One piece covers the chest while the second piece protects the back of the wearer. This armor is much like those of the olden times, and is crafted to fit the muscles of the wearer, fitting their body and is tailored to highlight the user's muscles. Due to the lack of the wearer being present during crafting, the armor was formed with a generalized expectation of perfection in mind because of the request. The sleeveless aspect of the armor allows wearer to move their arms much easier during combat and it retains the strength of plate armor, however this exposes the arms to the battle and so the crafter has created a slight extension over the shoulders, adding a slight increase in protection than a cuirass would normally have. In addition to the shoulder modification, the cuirass has an open slot around the collar area, allowing for a necklace, bracer, or choker to be inserted and worn. On the inside of the torso plate, near the right hip, the Funeral Parlor emblem is engraved on the armor. [Reforge Effect: Increased Movement Speed] [attr="class","skill"]Left Hand: Starter Dagger [attr="class","skill"]Right Hand: Knightsbane (Lv 20) A blade forged with the word "strength" being its very foundation. Heavy, thick, but slender and long, this sword is a powerful weapon which should be feared by those who dare to face it. From a glance, the sword seems flimsy and weak. However, at its very core, this weapon has been created to withstand the weight of war and has been made to pierce through the toughest of skins with a single thrust. The weapon reaches a length of nearly four feet long, including the six-inch hilt, and weighs more than your average sword. Forged with the idea of longevity while preserving power, the weapon has been made thin, but is extremely dense for its size. In addition to its penetration power, both edges of the blade have been sharpened, which makes it deadly both to one's enemy, and one's self. At the far bottom of the sword, on the pommel of the hilt, the Funeral Parlor emblem has been engraved into the sword. [Reforge Effect: Attack Stat Increase] [attr="class","skill"]Accessory#1: Force Choker of Striking -- Level 20 -- A choker that has been crafted and sized so that it may fit with the paired cuirass. Within its metal, a magical power flows, enhancing the abilities of the wearer slightly. A tempering of the metal has caused this accessory to take a slight grey color. Due to the magical prowess of the accessory, the metal begins to glow a dark red color as the aggression of the user increases in intensity. On the back of the choker and on the inside of the ring, the Funeral Parlor emblem has been engraved. [Reforge Effect: Cast Time Reduction: Sword Rain Flurry | 0.5 seconds] [attr="class","skill"]Accessory#2: Force Bracer of Striking -- Level 20 -- A pair of dark grey braces, crafted with some sort of magical element to them. The power which flows inside of the metal causes them to glow slightly red at times, the intensity of this glow linking to the aggression of the bearer. On the insides of both braces, the Funeral Parlor emblem has been engraved and glows as well. [Reforge Effect: Cast Time Reduction: Sword Rain Flurry | 0.5 seconds] [attr="class","skill"]Accessory#3: Force Ring of Control -- Level 20 -- A dark grey ring full of a magical force which links itself to the user upon wearing it. This link is established at the first sign of aggression towards anything. Upon this link being formed, the ring will glow a deep red whenever the owner becomes angered. The intensity of the glow increases as the aggression increases. On the inside loop of the ring, the Funeral Parlor emblem has been engraved. [Reforge Effect: Cooldown Reduction: Ace Move: Go no Sen | 0.5 seconds] [attr="class","skill"]Accessory#4: Force Ring of Control -- Level 20 -- A dark grey ring full of a magical force which links itself to the user upon wearing it. This link is established at the first sign of aggression towards anything. Upon this link being formed, the ring will glow a deep red whenever the owner becomes angered. The intensity of the glow increases as the aggression increases. On the inside loop of the ring, the Funeral Parlor emblem has been engraved. [Reforge Effect: Cooldown Reduction: Ace Move: Go no Sen | 0.5 seconds] [attr="class","skill"] Mysterious Swishcloak: A form-fitting, red cloak that is tapered to an hourglass-shape so that it does not interfere with complex movements. There is a metal buckle around the waist to fasten it firmly against the upper body even when faced with a great gale. Normally worn over a set of armor and reaches down just below the knees. There is a stylized F that is sewn in on the inner side of the cloak to denote the crafter. [attr="class","skill"]Black Battle Kecks – Level 20. A pair of form-fitting padded leather trousers specifically made for complex combat maneuvers. In addition to the regular assortment of pockets, there are additional straps to the upper and lower halves of each leg. These straps are able to secure small armor plates for added protection or act as holsters for other weapons. The shins are especially reinforced and padded to protect against low blows.
