Do you believe in ghosts? “I feel… like I’ve been here before…” There was a long silence after the words leaked from Saber’s mouth and he narrowed his eyes slightly on the building which he now stood in front of. He stared at it for several minutes, quietly taking in the sight which was before him as he attempted to figure out where this feeling of déjà vu was coming from. This building was a massive mansion, and it was a dark, dreary place. Though, those two words were not enough to describe the eerie, frightening feel it gave off. The aged look of the walls, the quiet creaking of the wood and the groaning of the foundation as the wind blew against the building’s outer walls. It was quite an interesting place, but Saber found it tasteless. Due to the even stranger feeling inside of him, Saber honestly wasn’t bothered too much by the horrendous sight of the potentially cursed home in front of him. It was really, really weird.
However, it still drew him in. Saber’s insides twisted at the thought of approaching the building, but he couldn’t help but want to walk inside. Something was there, calling out to him. Something which lurked within the walls of the haunted mansion before him wanted to see him, or it just wanted to eat him alive. That could have been a thing too. Yet, if it wasn’t fate for him to be here, then why was the mansion here? Not two days ago in the same exact spot, Saber had been walking by and was hunting in the area. There was no sign of the mansion he was now looking at. Today, he had awoken with the urge to return to that field, an urge which he could not shake. After an entire day of grinding elsewhere, Saber finally caved to that horrid feeling in the back of his mind. It was as if someone was whispering in his ear all day, telling him to return to this place. That sheer thought put him on edge, and he honestly was considering leaving. Yet, his feet had no intention of moving away.
“This feels so weird and so familiar…” Rather than take a step forward towards the mansion, or take a step away, Saber remained still where he was. There, he scanned the front area of the mansion and the surrounding zone. The lingering feeling in the back of his mind that he had been here, right here in that same exact spot looking at the mansion, before would not go away. His body was comfortable in the chilly, death-ridden air. His knees didn’t shake as if they had walked this path before, and his mind did not stir. The only thing which caused Saber to waiver was the beating heart in his chest, not a damn thing else seemed off about his body or mind. That alone set off some red flags for him. Right now, Saber was uncomfortable with being comfortable. Right now, he expected to feel chills. He expected to at least breathe differently but no, no he was confident here. It was as if he had already stared at the mansion before him and had already walked through its front door…
“Impossible.” Saber mumbled to himself as he turned his eyes towards the large building. He stared at it, hard, and narrowed his eyes on it. Then, he began to snarl. Was this building messing with him? Maybe that was why he was so comfortable; the building was messing with him! No, no that was untrue, wasn’t it? A building couldn’t do such a thing, but a person could couldn’t they? That single thought was enough to raise the hairs on Saber’s neck, and he sneered at the thought of someone daring to mess with him. The man pulled his cloak tight around himself and marched up towards the mansion. He didn’t look through the windows, he ignored the aged and beaten ground, and he certainly didn’t give a damn about the squeaking stairs as he stomped down on them. The Assassin didn’t even both with lightening his steps once he was on the nearly-sunken porch. Instead, his heels drilled into the wood and almost broke through the planks because of the angered and frustrated steps Saber took.
The Assassin this hatred for the building right up until his hand grabbed down onto the door knob. At that same instant, he stopped. The man froze in place and his lips pulled into a tight, flat line. The clouded hate which fogged his judgment faded away and Saber simply stood there, staring at the old, black door he now was on the verge of opening. Someone wanted him to go inside and they most likely had stirred him into a frenzy for a reason. However, Saber knew that if he opened the door, he would fall right into their hands. If he opened the door, he would be forced to play their game. And so… he released it. If Saber was going to do anything, it would be on his own terms. Whether he felt uncomfortable or happy as could be, Saber would be doing so without any outside influences. His feelings would be his own, and he wasn’t going to let some weirdo get the best of him. Not this time at least.
“Pass…” Saber mumbled, the familiar sounding word denying the building its right to steer him. Once he spoke It, the man released the door knob he held and turned around. Slowly, and purposefully, Saber descended down the four extremely short steps in front of him and started to make his way back towards the large gate. Though, he only made it half way before finally turning around and looking back at the building. Saber wasn’t a scholar or a philosopher, but he was curious. Deep in his core, he wanted to know why he was so attracted to this place… but he also wanted to leave. Standing there, the Assassin stared towards the second level of the Mansion and placed his hands on the pommels of his weapons, squeezing them tight as he contemplated what he should do… Leave and just deal with his brain? Or stay and figure out the reason… He honestly was torn between the two.

Ame sighed as she felt the cool breeze flowing around her, making her let out a small chill. She was sure going to be happy once all the things that had been happening recently had calmed down. She was speaking of, of course, the haunted mansion, the Slender Man and the ghosts and ghouls that had haunted her for the past, what? Week or so. She was done with it all. It must have been some production coy to let everyone know that it was Halloween or something. She pursed her lips as she walked. Usually, she liked Halloween. Dressing up in a costume and taking her younger sister to houses to get candy. She always shared with her for taking her and right now, Ame missed it. She wondered what her sister would dress up to be. She had been a princess last year and a witch the year before. Before Ame had entered Elder Tale, they had spoken briefly about being Elsa and Anna from the movie Frozen. It was her sister's favorite movie and though she wouldn't admit it outwardly, she liked it as well, though she could have gone without the mass amount of musical numbers in it. It was good, but annoying as hell as well, even still, she would have like to dress up as the two sisters with her sister. She let out another sigh, this was one longer than the last. She couldn't worry about that now, not that she had anything to worry about otherwise, but she just wanted to have a quiet walk, maybe go and visit the local tavern, not that she was a big drinker or anything.
After what seemed like only a few minutes, Ame noticed that the scene around her had changed. She was no longer in London, oh no, she was definitely not in Kansas either. She would have rather been picked up by a giant tornado then to be transported randomly to where she had found herself. She blew out hot air from her nose, signifying her annoyance with her evenings plans going to waste as now, she stood back where she had found herself, staring at the steps she had sat on. Some how, she knew the large, creepy mansion wasn't finished with her, not after her refusing to go inside alone, but this time, it was ready for her. She licked her lips, trying to cure the parched feeling in her mouth, but even her tongue was now dry. She shook her head as she stared hard at the scene. She was being messed with and now she knew it, but why her? Why was she being sent into so many of these events? Was the world testing her? She just couldn't understand why it had sent her back here, and the person she found herself staring at, why would they send him here? She sighed and continued to stare down the back of the lone assassin, the one she had found herself enamored with and she took a step forward towards him.
"Saber." Her voice deemed itself normal since the last time they had met and she walked closer to him. "So, it called you here too.." She was definitely being tested. She shook her head and put her hand to her forehead. 'Great, now he's going to think I'm a wimp. I just can't handle things like this..' She sighed and looked up at the mansion as she stood beside him. It looked somehow scarier than the last time she had been here and she tilted her head to the side to look up at him. She wanted to smile and ask him to protect her, or something stupid like that, but she couldn't. Nothing would come out. If he chose to step inside with her, he was going to see a side of her she didn't let anyone see, not in the real world and not in this world. He was going to see her vulnerable side, her terrified side. She hoped the mansion wasn't as bad on the inside as it was the outside, all somber and ghastly, just begging for it's next victim to step inside so it could swallow them whole, but she knew that she was being too hopeful. What was she expecting, a nice elderly lady coming to the door, dressed up in a tacky outfit and lots of party guests handing out candy? Yup, definitely doubtful. The place was going to be worse and she knew it. The thought gave her a slight shiver and she realized, 'Oh shit, I'm the next victim.' She swallowed hard as the fear hit her eyes. "Are you going in there?" Her voice came out small, in a scared whimper, even though she had been trying to hold her fright in.
She looked back to the house and cleared her throat, trying to make her petite sounds come out normal, but there would be no use. She was stuck between her thoughts. Should she go in, or leave? How scary could a place made for a game really be? Well, Slender Man.. That was all she had to say before she turned her head to look behind her. The beast was dead, or, was it? She remembered the old woman's words and the screams that had come from her after seeing him. She breathed deep and almost reached her hand out to grab his, but remained still and silent, internally fighting herself about the current situation. She was here, and so was he. Would she turn down a quest, leave the place unanswered? She had told the mansion that she wouldn't enter alone, so it had given her a companion? Could she take back her promise, to whomever she had made it to, even if it was a house? No, she couldn't. She sighed and felt her stance strengthen as she stood straighter, looking a bit taller. She shifted her gaze towards Saber and tightened her lips. She would wait for him to give the word. If he didn't go in, she wouldn't be inclined to go as she had said she wouldn't go in alone, but if he went, she felt obligated to, it was her damned nature. She would wait to see his next move, and follow him which ever way he would choose.

Do you believe in ghosts? After a few moments of staring at the mansion with his violent tendencies brimming and his blood boiling, Saber let out a huff and closed his eyes. He took in a few deep breaths and remained still, letting his mind relax at the thought of this place becoming some sort of mythical trap. Deep down, there was something tugging him towards the mansion, but there was a force just as strong opposing it. Inside, there would be things he didn’t want to see and things he didn’t want to know. Inside, there were answers to the uncomfortably comforting feelings. Inside, was a quest. However outside Saber was fine. He had no reason to enter the mansion and had no reason to follow through on the urge which pulsed inside of him. Saber was here only on a whim, and he would leave just as quickly as he arrived. This mansion may have swallowed up many souls, but today it would not get his.
With that in mind, Saber turned around his heels and started to walk away. He pulled his cloak around himself and headed back towards the gate, pulling his hood up over his head and adjusted his mask so that it nestled nicely over his face. He huffed with a tinge of satisfaction and lowered his head as he walked. Each step he took was heavy, but they were very soothing to his ears; leaves crunched beneath his boots and twigs snapped, giving way to the pressure of his steps. This place may have been dead, or close to it, but it was a place which Saber did not mind. Maybe it was because of whom he had become, or maybe because he was just tired of being so afraid. Or maybe it was because it was quiet here. That may have been it, but no matter the reason the feeling Saber felt would not change. The cool, soft breeze, the sound of the whistling of the empty trees, and the noise of the rolling dead leaves all sent tingling sensations down his spine.
Saber stopped in his tracks once he reached the gate and closed his eyes, listening to the sounds of snapping and popping again as if he was some strange and lost soul. But, that statue like posture only lasted a second as the feeling of another presence caused Saber’s mind to snap to life. His eyes opened in reaction and the man reached to his lower back, gripping onto one of the daggers that rested there. While he made the aggressive motion, Saber turned to his left and stared towards the mansion, his eyes locking onto the steps of it as a fizzle of sorts began to appear. The Assassin’s teeth clenched together and he pulled the knife free from its holster. He kept the weapon hidden beneath his cloak as to hide his intent to attack, sort of, and began to make his way back towards the mansion but more specifically towards that fizzing air. He made it nearly half way back to the building when the fizzle suddenly popped into a brief flash of light. It took half a blink, and the air was as still as ever once it was gone. However, what the fizzling had left behind made Saber pause. He had company.
“Really…?” The company which was now here wasn’t a monster or a boss of any kind, nor was it a Non-Player Character or a Person of the Land. No, the company he now found himself staring at was a woman. He didn’t have to key his interface or anything to know who it was either, as it was quite easy to recognize the outfit and the voluptuous figure she bore, and the blonde tail and ears which she sported as her choice of race. This woman was Kittygrey, and she was becoming a problem for Saber’s subconscious. It wasn’t because she attacked him or threatened him, but it was because of the opposite reasons. This woman was extremely kind to him, always seemed happy to see him, had fed him twice, and had even dared to encroach on his personal space which had made his iron maiden crack slightly. This woman was a threat to Saber’s stability, and she most likely had no idea. Seeing her here definitely assured Saber that this mansion was bad news and that leaving was a good idea. So, he sheathed his dagger and turned away from the mansion and the new arrival. He took a few steps and began to make his way back to the gate… but that obviously wasn’t going to happen. Was it?
Saber had only taken a step before he heard the light step behind him. It crinkled a leaf and caused the Assassin to pause. He glanced over his shoulder and narrowed his eyes slightly, internally wishing that the foxtail was not doing was she was currently doing; looking right at him. But of course, why would his wish come true? No that would be too easy. Instead the woman was not only looking at him, she actually called out his name and began to walk closer to him. With every step he took, Saber felt the uncomfortably comfortable feeling turn more and more just plain uncomfortable. Right up to the moment that she decided to make the statement that he had been summoned here too. At that moment, Saber’s flat lined lips curved into a frown. His eyes glared towards the mansion, pissed, but then flickered down to the blonde as she stood beside him, which made him a little uneasy. There was only one other person Saber remembered being able to stand beside him to brazenly, and even she was gone now. If this woman had the same guts, or was just the stereotype which her hair lumped her into, than Saber would have to deal with it for now.
“Fine, you damned house.” Saber rumbled beneath his mask and turned to face the building as he forced himself to come to terms with the situation he was in. The Assassin placed his hands onto the hilts of his swords and leaned back onto his heels for a moment. Then, after a few moments of contemplating how he should go about this event, the man crossed his arms over his chest. As he stood there, anger brewing behind the angered look on his face, he noticed that the woman beside him was actually shaking. She seemed frightened by the building before them, which made Saber wonder; did she come to him for protection? If that was the case, than he doubted she would like the thoughts he was currently having which involved him bailing on her. Yet, he couldn’t follow through on those. As much of a bastard he wanted to be, this woman was honestly afraid, and seeing her come to him for safety made him feel a little happy inside. Maybe she was right before; maybe he was a good person deep down…
Releasing a light sigh, Saber relinquished himself from the chains of the angry thoughts that he was having and opened his cloak. Out from underneath, the Assassin’s hands moved. One hand was placed on his right blade, and the other was placed on the blonde woman’s head. He ruffled her hair gently and then patted her head before turning his eyes towards the mansion. Was he going in? Yes, but he didn’t want to. He would have rather left and done some grinding, but the fact that this place had suddenly appeared and had put the frightened beauty before him, Saber felt as if he had no other choice but to investigate.
“Yes, I’m going. I won’t be scared off by some old building with paint issues.” With that, Saber took his hand off Kitty’s head and made his way towards the mansion. Unlike the first time when he reached the steps, Saber moved a lot more patiently. Each step was placed firmly onto the wood and he elevated himself quickly. When he reached the door, he grabbed onto the knob, squeezed, and twisted. There was a brief instant of hesitation once he gripped the door, but it was slight and before he could even think about it he had opened the door. For a moment, he stood there in the threshold and stared inside the entryway, but then he took a step to his left and looked to his right towards the woman.
“Are you coming or not?” He wouldn’t say he was holding the door open to be a gentleman, as he really wasn’t. He was simply waiting for the little lady to come along if she chose to, as he doubted she would have ran after him if he closed the door behind himself.

How did this happen? How did she even get to this place? She had no understanding of the world around her, or why she kept being summoned here. Hadn't she just left? She let out a small sigh, the crackling footsteps of the man leading away from her. She had said his name, yet he walked away from her still. It made her heart pang, especially because the house had led them together. Were they meant to defeat it? As she spoke again, she watched him frown to the mansion. Clearly he didn't want to be here either. It wasn't like she was asking him to accompany her.. really.. okay, maybe a little, but she would have just been fine with turning around and high tailing her tail right out of there. She always hated haunted houses, they scared her, and this one would be worse because it wasn't life itself, no, it was a game. Someone had created it, but because it was a feature in a game it would be more dangerous, and the beasts that she knew lurked inside would be more terrifying than anything someone could just dress up to be, or create from their own two hands. No, these creatures would have their own lives and walk without hesitation to kill. She wasn't really afraid of the beasts though, it was the fact that if you got lost in there, you were there forever, unless you died, or so she hoped anyways.
Ame found herself staring up at him. His hard face told her that he didn't want to be here and she wondered if he could tell she was afraid. Of course he could, her tail had somehow managed to slip itself between her legs and her ears were planted down to the top of her head. Not only were those features showing her fear, no, now she was shaking. She felt her eyes wander to her left, to the ground. She breathed softly through her nose and waited for him to say something, or do something. Anything would be fine at this point, but she was beginning to feel worse from the anticipation of him going with her, wanting to protect her, if he did want that even. Mentally she shook the thought from her head and as he sighed, she found her eyes locking onto his. She wondered what he would do. Then he removed his hands from his cloak and placed one on her head. She felt her eyes close for a moment in a blink and suddenly, her body stopped shaking. Her tail found its way from her legs and softly wagged below her, still not to it's full happiness, but it was getting there, and her ears had perked themselves up a bit. She was clearly not very good at hiding things, especially her own feelings, as even if she tried to hide them, the rest of her body wouldn't. She had learned to tame her ears and tail slightly, but they still followed her subconscious, something with which she had a hard time controlling at all.
As he spoke, Ame felt her face light up and she beamed a smile. "Yeah.. Me either!" She tried to sound confident, though her voice was still a little shaky. She wanted to be strong, so that he didn't have to be afraid to be around her, but she knew that she wasn't quite there yet. She had recently purchased new armor, which she wondered if he had noticed, though to the male eye, they rarely noticed things like that, and he had been to one to make her her staff, so she was a little stronger than she had been upon their first, and second, and even their third meeting. Releasing her self from her thoughts, she nodded to him and felt her eyes skim his face. She caught a glimpse of his mouth before he took his hand away and turned towards the mansion. She felt her face flush and she found herself standing still for a moment. She hadn't forgotten the moment she had had in his workshop, kissing him as he was laying on his stone bench. Since then, she couldn't get the image of his face out of her head when she had called to home and left him there, staring at her. She felt a smirk cross her face over the memory. She couldn't tell for sure, but the face had seemed to be a wanting, maybe not wanting her to leave. She found herself staring at the ground, pondering, remembering the moment. When she thought about it her lips tingled and she felt a strange heat in her, like, burning desire, or something. She felt her tongue reach out from her mouth and softly glide themselves across her lips before she came back to reality, looking up and then staring at Saber. "Right! I'm coming!" She picked up her feet and quickly ran up the stairs to the door.
She stood there for a moment, looking into the darkness of the mansion. She took in a deep breath and opened her interface, equipping her staff, the one that Saber had made her. As it came to life in her hands, she gripped it lightly and shifted her eyes to him. She felt her face become grim, as fear re- entered her body, but she held her ground and with a deep breath, stepped through the doorway. She took a few steps forward, staring at the sight of the room. There were a few floating pumpkin creatures, seemingly dancing across the floor of the room. She flicked her eyes to their names, Mini Jack, and noticed their levels. She wondered if they were friendly creatures. She looked more around the room, wondering what they were supposed to do, but when he entered, she would turn her gaze towards Saber. "So, do you have any clue as to what it is we do now?" She pursed her lips and then looked towards the room again. She could see stairs and a bunch of old furniture and a clock. She tilted her head at the room, her gaze staring more towards the stairs. That would probably be their destination, though she would let Saber lead the way if he wanted to, much more prefering to be the follower in this situation. If he wanted her to take the lead, she probably would, though mentally, she wasn't sure if she would be able to do so for long, she was, indeed, a 'Scaredy Cat.'

Do you believe in ghosts? Every second Saber stood there by the door, waiting for a response from Kitty, he felt like abandoning her. It probably made him look like a jerk, being so impatient and all, but he honestly didn’t care. This woman was something of a curse, a beautiful curse which he internally prayed would just go away. She looked at him with those soft eyes and he couldn’t help but feel afraid. Afraid for his sanity as well as her smile. Saber enjoyed his alone time and he flourished in it. Yet, as alone and foolish as he was, the man was still a man; he knew that a woman’s smile was something very fragile. Toying with that was something Saber feared, and it was one of the many things he avoided. Using distance as a weapon, Saber tended to keep himself out of situations where he could affect a woman’s life, but in this case; Kitty was having an effect of his. As he stood there by the door, he knew right away that he had changed. The old Saber would never have been waiting. The old Saber would already be inside the mansion, the door closed behind him or at least getting there… The old Saber didn’t care at all. “But I’m still a fool…” Saber frowned beneath his mask after Kitty hollered at him, announcing her choice to come with him. He stood there and watched her approach, his chest tearing itself apart as he saw her come closer and eventually stop right in front of him. This mansion was nothing compared to the fear he had of hurting the little blonde that was so frightened in front of him. Though, as she opened up her menu and summoned the staff he had crafted for her, he was reminded of one thing he had always told himself. He couldn’t always be the person everyone needed him to be, but as a Blacksmith; he could be the person that would be there when they needed him. He couldn’t be the person someone like Kitty wanted him to be, but he could at least provide her with the tools to support herself. She may not smile the same, or she may forget him at some point, but at least Saber would know that he did what he could to keep her safe. “I’m getting soft.” The Assassin scoffed to himself after Kitty walked into the mansion and looked off to his right and up towards the distant sky. Inside his chest, there was a feeling of regret. Regret that he had let himself be involved with this woman. “Here we go again…” After taking too long at the door, Saber finally turned and walked inside. Kitty was already through the threshold and was taking her own look around the room. Saber made his way inside, strode up beside the woman he had paired with, and rested back on his heels. As he did so, he placed his palms onto the pommels of his two blades, gripping onto them gently. The room looked extremely familiar, but also very different. There were many little floating “Mini Jacks” in the air and they all seemed quite happy with their lives, unlike Saber. The walls were old, the furniture was covered in dust, and the place just looked as if it was falling apart. As Kitty looked to him for guidance, the Assassin remained silent. Well, until an interface appeared in front of him. “We read this.” At the sight of the interface, Saber used that as his scapegoat answer for the Blonde and took his time reading it. “Welcome to my home, Adventurers. In order to retrieve what you seek, you must answer my questions and solve my puzzles. Each hall has a collection of clues inside. Find the clues, and solve the puzzles. Only then may you advance to the next room. There are five rooms and the clock is ticking. Good luck.” “There’s your answer.” Saber didn’t think twice about hitting the “quest accept” choice the interface had presented him with and took a few more steps into the hall. As he did so, the Assassin’s vision shot over to his left. There, floating at eye level and across the room was a Mini Jack. It looked much smaller than the rest but that wasn’t what was bothering him; it stared at him. The thing floated there, staring at the player with a soft expression. Saber’s eyes narrowed and he just looked at the pumpkin. Then, after a few moments of the staring contest, the little pumpkin began to float over to Saber. It made its way across the room and didn’t stop until it was only a few inches from Saber’s face. The Assassin narrowed his eyes a little more and leaned slightly towards the pumpkin. “Blumpy~” The Pumpkin huffed and it hopped slightly as it spoke. It was then, at that exact moment, that the realization hit him like a train. This pumpkin knew him, and it remembered him. Saber immediately cast the Animal Tamer skill ‘Scout’ on the little creature. There was nearly absolutely zero resistance from the little creature and it seemed to accept the skill, promptly taking a seat on Saber’s shoulder once the skill finished casting. At the sight, Saber looked around the room slowly. “I’ve been here before.” He muttered and made his way over to the front desk. At that point, he looked down; there was a sheet of paper there. The man grit his teeth together and ripped off the first piece of paper, revealing a collection of words hidden on the next page. Quickly, Saber grabbed a pen and wrote down a familiar collection of letters and numbers onto the paper. Then, he stood up and looked at Kitty. He stood there for a moment and then heard a door unlock to his right. He looked up the right set of stairs and watched as a pair of doors opened up to the left of the upper area. The Assassin’s eyes narrowed and he sneered at the sight. He then looked to Kitty. “Stay close to me. I don’t like this one bit.” After speaking, the Assassin moved away from the welcoming desk and headed for the stairs, but then he stopped and looked at Kitty. “You might want to stay within my reach. I have no idea what kinds of traps there could be and I would rather not get separated in the middle of this.” He waited for a moment and extended his right hand out towards Kitty. “Dealing with the annoying puzzles will be one thing, but having to search for you and having you freak out will be a little more stressful.”: Post Title :-Remembering The Hall- : Word Count :1124 : Skills Used :Scout : Tagged :Saber, kittygrey: Notes :Into the Second Hall? It had seemingly taken him a while longer to enter the mansion after her, she wondered if he had thought about leaving, but as his form shifted through the door she let out a small sigh. Her eyes widened slightly as the door shut behind him in a slamming manner and the sound of it clicking, like it was locking them in, gave her a slight shiver. They could make it through here, she was sure. With Saber's help, she felt as though she could do anything. She would be strong and- When her interface suddenly opened she jumped slightly and the pushed her lips into a flat line, looking over to Saber as he spoke. Well, so much for being strong and unafraid. She read the insert and tilted her head. 'What I seek?' She felt her eyes flick to Saber then back to the screen. 'No Ame, that isn't what it means..' She blew out a breath at herself. Was she really being that blond stereotype she had always hated? Swooning over a man and getting scared of a door shutting? She couldn't let that bother her now, she had to be herself no matter what and she certainly wasn't the blond stereotype that everyone put in her mind. Alright, well, maybe she was a little, but she was intelligent! She pushed her lips harder together and mentally shook her head. 'Read the Damned thing Ame!'
As she continued reading, she saw the words; clues and puzzles. She read about five rooms, each having a puzzle inside. She felt her grip tighten slightly on her staff and she nodded to the screen. Right, this would be her chance to show off her mind, if she could even do so. She hoped that the puzzles weren't hard. She was fearful that she wouldn't be able to answer them correctly. If she couldn't, would he think she was stupid? Would he progress without her and leave her to rot in the mansion?! She looked over at him as he spoke and she nodded tensely. She then took in a breath as the quest screen popped up and she hit accept. This was it, this was her chance to prove her smarts, and even if she couldn't get the answer, he was there to help, not to run off and leave her in the depths of some creepy mansion alone! It was always the worst case scenario with her. She needed to get out of that habit and into one that was more positive, else it would probably be the end of her at some point in her life.
She watched as one of the mini Jacks came forward, floating it's way to Saber. She instantly activated [Tongue of Nature] to try and speak to the small pumpkin, hoping it was coming to attack, but when Saber had scouted it, she tilted her head. The small pumpkin found it's way to the assassin's shoulder and had perched itself happily there. She felt confused but she deactivated her skill for the moment, as the need wasn't necessary. As Saber spoke again she felt her head tilt the other way and she hurried over to the desk that he was standing in front of. She eyed the Mini Jack as Saber wrote some scribbles on the paper below. When he turned to look at her, she stared back, her head still tilted from before, until she heard the click of an unlocking door. As he looked, so did she to see the doors open, calling them to move forward. She swallowed hard and then looked back to him as he spoke, her eyes filled with worry. As he spoke, she nodded, but as he moved, she moved quickly to stay behind him, for a moment, she reached out her hand to grab the back of his cape, but she took her hand away as he turned to look at her.
As he spoke again, telling her to stay within his reach, she nodded. "Right, I will." She breathed in a hard breath, the look of worry planted on her face. She too felt that way. She definitely would not want to lose him and have to face the mansion on her own. Though she was still afraid of the mansion, with him here, it made her feel more at ease, if only for a little. She wanted to conquer the mansion and she was with the one person who had already done it. She knew he had defeated it, since he himself had said that he had been here before. How else could he have gotten out? After a moment, Ame's eyes looked down to the extended hand and her forced together lips parted slightly. She felt her heart rate increase and she let out a few slightly heavier breaths, but then sucked in the air in her nose and grabbed onto his hand. After she grabbed it, he spoke and she looked up to him with pursed lips. "Stop lying to yourself, you really just wanted to hold my hand. I understand though! Who wouldn't?" She smirked up at him, her smile twisted into an evil sort of smile and she let out a soft giggle and shook her head. "Sorry, I was just joking.." She hoped he wouldn't take her seriously, she knew that he was right. She would freak out and he would have to come find her.
She took a step up the stairs and her smile went away as she looked at the doors. Why did all the entrances seem to be so dark, as if the next room was void of all things, empty and beckoning for them to enter into the death of the mansion. Come forward into the darkness and let me consume your soul! That's what she thought the mansion was saying, no, that's what he felt. She felt her hand grip tighter onto the assassins and she found her gaze looking up to the mini Jack, then to Saber, then back to the door. She took a deep breath and licked her dry lips. This was it. They were stepping into the dark void to see what was on the other side. She licked her lips again and let Saber pull her through the dark void.
