[attr="class","ws"] [attr="class","h"]INDY [attr="class","fc"] [attr="class","bi"]REAL NAME: Ethan Calwell [attr="class","bi2"]REAL GENDER: Male [attr="class","bi2"]GENDER: Male [attr="class","bi2"]AGE: 24 [attr="class","bi2"]SEXUALITY: Heterosexual [attr="class","bi2"]FACE-CLAIM: guy cecil, TALES OF THE ABYSS [attr="class","bi2"]PLAYED BY: Den [attr="class","h2"]Appearance [attr="class","b"] Ethan is a lean man with bright ice blue eyes and short blond hair that is swept to one side of his head. His body is built more for agility rather than strength. This is mostly evident from the graceful way he moves and his less than average height (5'4) - a physical trait that many often tease him on. Thanks to his lifestyle and his birthright, Ethan exudes an aura of casual nobility in his posture - with his back completely straight and his shoulders relaxed. Appearance and style is important to him, and he would never show anything less than his best. He often moves with an upbeat energy and greets everyone with a bright and cheerful smile on his face. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"]Ethan is a casual and laid-back guy, who covers the depths of his emotions well. He rarely panics or shows his rage, making it difficult to predict his thoughts and actions. He is reserved and polite, though witty and friendly at the same time. Although he is approachable and is easy to get along with, he does not like physical contact with anyone - even with those he is close with. There is a certain distance with which he carries himself among his enemies, strangers and friends, and no one has broken through that wall and seen every inch of his true self. He keeps his inner thoughts to himself, and has never truly opened up to anyone. It's not that he is distrustful, but he had been raised in an environment where he didn't have close friends. And ever since he was a teen, he has accomplished much by himself that it doesn't cross his mind that he has an option to depend on others apart from himself. He is practical, but optimistic. He is not one who gives up or runs away at the first sign of trouble, but at the same time he is confident of his strengths and limits that he knows when to back down or retreat. He is an offensive fighter and an enthusiastic adventurer who loves traveling and has a curious mind that wants to learn more about the world he lives in - whether it's the real world or the world in Elder Tale. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"]Born in an old, traditional English family, Ethan experienced a stiff and strict upbringing. As the only heir to his family's fortune, his parents worked hard in training him to take over the family business, and didn't leave much happy memories in the young boy's childhood. Duty and honor were drilled into him, and he did everything obediently. But despite this, Ethan has a rebellious streak in him, and found ways and loopholes in the rules that he was brought up with, so he could find some enjoyment and pleasures in his young life. He was mischievous and playful to everyone in the household - servants and nobles alike were equal in his eyes. His charm and good cheer gained him friends from both people his own age and his elders, and he was well loved by everyone he knew. When he was in his teens, he was sent to a boarding school to broaden his horizons (and networks). Sometime during the middle of his life as a student, both his parents died in a tragic accident while they were spending a holiday on a cruise. All of a sudden, Ethan was forced to step up and become the master of his home. It would have been hard for a young man to do it, but with the guidance and teachings of a close family friend, he was able to take control and manage both the family business and the household. Ethan tended to delegate menial, common tasks to the older members of the company board of directors, which provided him plenty of free time to do things he wanted to do. He traveled, read books, learned to play sports - and took a special interest in fencing - and discovered a love for video games. Even now, in his early twenties, he discovered and enjoyed one of the most popular games in the world - Elder Tale. The Englishman was one of the rare few who reacted differently during the Catastrophe. Instead of being devastated or frightened, he took an avid interest in the world and strove to explore every inch of it - while at the same time looking to discover just what it was that brought them there, and how they were to escape back into the real world. [attr="class","h3"]Extra [attr="class","b"]-Because of his upbringing, Ethan doesn't have any experience with manual labor. (cooking, house cleaning, etc...) -Although he learned a lot of sports, his skills in them are basic - barely average at most - all except for his fencing skills. -As a vain person, Ethan cares a lot about his cleanliness and avoids doing rough and dirty tasks. |

As an attack it is average but upon use, it boosts the bard's evasion rate for a certain period of time so it is popular among front-line bards as it increases their survivability. One peculiarity about this skill is that the attack motions and dance are rather elaborate. When using a sword, it is like a sword dance, if a spear it will be used as a baton constantly twirling round and round at high speeds. There are different motions for every kind of weapon. The motions for the giant scythe would be to take the huge weapon and to spin it around like one would a pencil and is quite the sight to behold. [attr="class","skill"]Resonance Beat: Attack skill | Imbues a tune onto a weapon, causing a shockwave on impact, causing a resonance effect with the enemy's body as a medium. Even after the attack is over the effects of the shockwave remains and if an additional attack is made, it will cause a resonance explosion dealing further damage. As 2 hits are needed, the damage dealt is very high. By the way, bards who use percussion instruments and repeatedly use Resonance Beat are called "Drummers" or "Taiko masters". [attr="class","skill"]Scarlet Symphony: Attack skill | The Bard plays a song as a menacing red mist starts to form around them. Then, after two seconds, the Bard's mana mixes with the aura to create blood-red blades that swirl around the Bard in a small circle of two feet in radius. Opponents struck by the skill suffer a bleeding damage over time debuff. The cooldown of this skill is 15 seconds, and it applies as soon as the Bard stops playing their instrument. [attr="class","skill"]Meditation Nocturne: Buff skill | A relaxing melody that gradually regenerates party members' MP. This restoration is moreso apparent outside of battle, but it might come of practical use in the middle of a grueling raid. [attr="class","skill"]Speed Sword Etude: Buff skill | A lively song that makes one want to rush into battle. This tune causes all nearby party members' attack speeds to rise. [attr="class","skill"]Lullaby of the Mermaid in the Moonlight: Curse song, Special attack skill, Movement hindrance | A support song that puts the target enemy and those around it to sleep. It is set so that the difference in level between the target and caster will affect how long it takes for it to fall asleep so the effect is not instantaneous. And so you might be countered if the target can see through the time it has before the effect occurs and cause this lock "Hit right before effect occurs" then sleep -> (Get hit) Wake up -> Immediate Sleep (Rinse and repeat) a "Sleep lock". When used, an aqua-blue ripple effect will occur and an image of a singing mermaid will appear over the head of the caster. [attr="class","skill"]Ballad of the Gullible Snail: Curse song, Special attack skill, Movement hindrance | An offensive curse song that deals minor damage and gives a slow effect to target enemy and others around it. The damage radius is unexpectedly large and it can slow a group of 5-6. However as this move generates a lot of hate if used carelessly, will result in the enemies shifting target from the tank to you. On the other hand in situations where this is not a concern like in solo play or a party without tanks, it is possible to drag the enemies around with "Ballad of the gullible snail" and wear them down with ranged attacks. It seems there are anecdotes of wearing down a high level boss with only the ballad. On use a distorted spiral effect will appear around the target. [attr="class","skill"]Transcription: Scribes are known for their ability to copy documents carefully. Their knowledge also allows them to use and read grimoires in the Ancient Text, allowing them to use grimoires without penalties and perform some basic magic attacks depending on their Magic stat. [attr="class","skill"]Battle Perception: Toggle skill. Battle perception allows the Pathfinder to notice nearby monsters more easily by displaying their names and levels above their heads. It allows the Pathfinder to detect monsters about ten feet further than a normal character, and is most useful for preventing ambushes. [attr="class","h3"]Equipment [attr="class","b2"] [attr="class","skill"]Starter Leather Armor: A basic set of soft leather armor made from cheap leather. They are not really protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it. [attr="class","skill"]: Eulabeia : Level 10 Rapier: Many walk the path of war, but few do so in such a manner that ensures safety. Caution, care, and courage are three things which guide a lucky few down the path of survival, and this blade has been forged as to reflect that tenderness. The rapier is thin and long, flimsy and flexible, but such things give the weapon a false image of weakness that could lead many to their doom. The length of the blade is its strength, and that is only restricted by reach of the user. The rapier's linear shape is standard to its name but that is the only feature which allows this weapon to fall into the category. The blade has been crafted in a way where it is slender and light, but it has four sharp edges which come to a sharp point. Should the user stab forward, they will leave a cross or a plus in their target's flesh. This four-edged rapier allows the user to remain vigilant on all sides, allows them to cover all angles, and ensures that they may attack from any direction both accurately, and quickly. To keep the blade from rusting to fast, and to give it a more luxurious look, the metal has been gently polished with a very light, but noticeable, golden layer of shine. In the light, the weapon will shimmer gallantly in the hands of its user. In the dark, it will provide a friendly beacon for allies whom may be lost in the shadows. The hilt of the weapon is short, but it is just long enough where the weapon's user can hold the sword with one hand and potentially half of the other, ensuring a firm hold during combat. The metal hidden underneath layers of supporting leather and cloth is thicker than the blade so it does not wiggle during use. The yellow leather and cloth which cover the hidden metal handle give the weapon a very soft and comfortable hold; to the point that one's fingers can sink into the material slightly, like a pillow of sorts. In addition to a comfortable handle, the arm guard which protects the hand is created in such a way to reflect the heart of the weapon and the name of the Spirit which dwells within; caution. An umbrella like look, the guard spreads out in a circular, dome shape, completely protecting the hand which would hide beneath it. Much like the arms of a mother protecting her kin, the yellow guard is formed to guarantee that the user's hand is safe from being hurt during combat. At the very base of the weapon, engraved into the bottom of the hilt, there is an emblem carved into it; a coffin with a small cross in the center of its upper section. The shape of the coffin mimics one which is carved into a stone slab above a certain building in London. [attr="class","skill"]Beginner's Violin: A cheap little instrument for aspiring musicians and novice bards, made out of cheap materials. They don’t really play too well, but at least you can play something. Franklin so that its writing is fairly consistent. Much as a blacksmith's signature tool is the hammer and a tailor the needle, this can be considered the scribe's main tool. The Quill Pen is not used up during a craft. Unfounded Kingdom Map - London Area: A largely incomplete map of the Unfounded Kingdom with a basic template designed by Scribe Hearst, focusing on the London area. Just having it in your possession gives your minimap interface the map data that was recorded on it. Due to maps created by the Britain Royal News, most players are able to obtain a decent starting map that aspiring Scribes can copy to complete their own map. Otherwise, new map data can be filled in by simply standing in the middle of an uncharted area and gently pressing the quill pen down upon the parchment. While it is possible for anyone to fill in a map, certain subclasses like Scribe, Pathfinder, and Courier have the advantage when it comes to filling in larger portions of the map. Starter Rapier: A starter weapon designed for novice adventurers, made out of cheap iron. It is well-balanced and easy to use but doesn’t hit particularly hard at all. You probably should get this replaced as soon as you can. 6 x Mana Fragment - Condensed and crystallized mana extracted from an individual who was performing a magic-based skill at the time. It is a fragile crystal that melts upon contact with the body and is said to be a possible fuel supply. |
