[attr="class","ws"] [attr="class","h"]RANIYA [attr="class","fc"] [attr="class","bi"]REAL NAME: Raniya Tersia [attr="class","bi2"]GENDER: Female [attr="class","bi2"]AGE: 18 [attr="class","bi2"]SEXUALITY: Heterosexual [attr="class","bi2"]FACE-CLAIM: Viki, SUIKODEN [attr="class","bi2"]PLAYED BY: Yuri [attr="class","bi2"]FACTION:Person of the Land [attr="class","h2"]Appearance [attr="class","b"]Raniya is a lightly built girl with long, raven colored hair. Her thin frame often leads people to believe that her equipment should be too heavy for her. She is 5'4 has eyes with a deep purple color. Her hair it usually let free, however depending on her mood she will tie it into a large, loose braid. Her favorite attire is a brown medium length trench coat that comes down to her thighs that she keeps open over her armor. She also wears a long fluttering blue skirt and a large bronze flower shaped pendant which once belonged to her mother. On both of her arms run a long scar from her wrist to her elbow and she has a crescent shaped scar on her chest, just below her neck. Raniya is very sensitive about these scars and they are always covered up by her coat or necklace. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"]Due to the drastic changes in lifestyle that Raniya has experienced, her personality has undergone changes as well. She is particularly quiet by her base nature. When she was little she was very quiet and meek. This intensified after her mother died. As she grew older she developed a mask on her personality. It is something she was taught by Thorak, to always smile especially when things are at their hardest. She normally comes off as a positive and cheerful girl that is impervious to setbacks. She does feel that way some of the time, but it is often something she uses to keep people from worrying about her and to attempt to force herself to believe it. She can also come off as more carefree to others, and has a tendency to forget things that are inconvenient to her, such as rules. When she is alone that mask slips and she shows the quiet, vulnerable and lonely girl that she is at her core emerges. Raniya does not allow other people to see this side of her, so they always believe she is capable of handling herself. Aside from her cheerful side, she also has a serious side that usually comes out in battle or when she sees something that rubs her the wrong way. She can be quite reckless when she gets this way and will always stand for what she believes is right. She gained a reputation in her neighborhood for the rare ability of being more stubborn than a dwarf. This sense of pride and justice increased after the loss of Thorak and her will to protect others is what drives her to continue moving forward. She values speed and adaptability. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"] Raniya was born in a small elven village on the edge of Avon. It would not be right to call this her hometown, as she doesn't have one. Her mother was a travelling performer, a bard and was always on the road. As such Raniya never knew who her actual father was and her mother would never tell her, only smile when Raniya asked about it. She doesn't actually remember very much about the village because as soon as she was able to walk, she was on the road. Her memories of childhood are very fragmented. All she really remembers is always being on the road, traveling from place to place and her mother performing in order to feed Raniya. Bit by bit, she picked up parts of her mother's trade which she keeps as one of the few memories she has of her mother. When Raniya was 8, there was some sort of accident, the circumstances of which have never been made clear to her. Her memories of the entire incident and the surrounding weeks are gone, however it resulted in the death of her mother as well as the scars she bears today on her arms and chest. The scars aren't something that would have been made by a monster, but nobody would ever tell her the truth about how her mother passed way or how she was discovered. She distinctly remembers only one flashback of the incident. Being in a dark, cold, stone room with her mother, and her mother was singing with a smile and tears streaming down her face. Raniya often has a flashback of this scene in her dreams and the song is the only one firmly engraved into her. With her mother's passing, she became an orphan. The human village that she had awoke in treated her wounds, but seemed almost fearful and did not want to take her in for some reason or another. Raniya has always believed that it was because she was an elf, but has never been sure on this. They treated her in an abandoned home on the outskirts of the village and every few days a different villager would visit to attend to her, always seemingly fearful. This led Raniya to start to put on a strong face, no matter what the circumstances or what she was actually feeling. In truth was was deeply scared and lonely in the time she spent in that house. During the first few weeks her vision suffered, and she would imagine it was her mother that was coming to take care of her during those brief visits. Her recovery was slow, but progressed steadily. After 2 months of being bedridden from her wounds and severe exhaustion she was not quite politely kicked out of the village. With nowhere else to go she took to the road, living in fear of monsters every night as she foraged for food. After a few weeks in the wild, Raniya managed to stowaway on a caravan headed to Stratford as it was stopped for the night. She was successful in hiding for the majority of the trip while taking some of their food supplies. However a few days out from the city when they were stopped in a small town outside Stratford she was discovered and knocked out by one of the caravan guards. She awoke a few days later to the warmth of a fire and the sound of chipping stone. Quietly she got out of bed to find the source of the noise. What she found was an old dwarven man named Thorak whom was in the middle of creating a statue. This dwarf would quickly become the orphaned Raniya's adoptive father. Thorak was a craftsman, an artist of stone and wood and that was how he made his living. Raniya was very distrustful of him at first and her mask of indifference never slipped around him. He was a slightly crude man by nature, but was always smiling and laughing as he worked and interacted with Raniya. After almost a year of living together, she was beginning to open up to him some after he began to take her on trips. Every few months Thorak would go in to Stratford in order to sell the art that he had created and eventually began to bring her along. It was during one of these trips that a 10 year old Raniya was introduced to a magical drink that Thorak called "wine". After having far more than she should have been allowed she finally opened up completely to Thorak when the returned to their room at the inn. After so long of holding it in, she let out at once all of the grief she had held inside for her mother. It was after this that Raniya accepted that Thorak was now her father, although it took her longer to admit that. In the coming years she began to take on part of the personality of her father as she lived with him and helped with his trade. She developed a highly active, stubborn and opinionated personality and lived in happiness. The more expressionless Raniya transformed into a cheerful girl with an ever present smile. When Raniya was 16, Thorak came down down with a terrible cold just before they were to go to Stratford to sell his art. He encouraged her to go by herself, and with some reluctance Raniya set out for the city on horseback as usual. She was not as skilled at negotiating as Thorak was, but his contacts within the city knew Raniya from their interactions the past few years and thus were willing to work with her. The day before leaving to head back home she encountered a large group of wardens on the main road in the city. They were in a rush and quickly moved along and towards the city gate which led to her town. Thinking nothing of it, she returned to the inn that night to rest. It was not until she returned home a few days later that she learned the significance of that group of wardens. Her hometown now lie in utter ruin, blackened and burned to the ground. Among the streets were the bodies of villagers and monsters alike as well as the wardens who had been too late to prevent it from happening. There were few survivors from the town, and Thorak was not among them. The next few days were a blur to Raniya. She remembers crying a lot, and being taken in at the warden main camp outside of the village. Having nowhere else to go she was at a complete loss. On the final day that the wardens were there, she was approached by one of the warden officers. He offered her a chance, a new place to belong. If only she were to come back to Stratford with them and become an apprentice warden in training. It was then that Raniya's masks made their return. She could never at heart be the cheerful girl she was only mere days ago, but she could pretend to be. Raniya returned with the wardens and began her training with zeal. So that no one else would ever have to experience the pain she felt of losing her home, her world and her entire family, not once but twice. A few years later she completed her training as a warden and was ordered to take up the guise of an adventurer in the city of Londinium not long after the catastrophe. Knowing little about them as a people and their way of life, she was made to abandon her home once again in Stratford to begin anew in Londinium, home of the adventurers. Alone once again, she set out after hearing the words that she was the only one with the personality that might not arouse suspicions among the incomprehensible adventurers. She didn't quite understand what that meant until she finally met them. While many characters use quick slots in order to swap out their weapons, this requires a manual action. The use of Quick Swap does this exchange automatically. This switching can only be done with two equipment sets at a time, both of which are registered prior to the start of battle. When Quick Swap is used, the current equipment set will be swapped out to the other set designated by the skill. Due to the nature of this skill, it is best used by characters of the Weapon Specialist classes. This skill has an animation time of 1 second. Its cooldown if used by a Weapon Specialist class is 30 seconds which increases to 60 seconds if used by any other class. [attr="class","skill"]Arrow Revolver: A technique developed by a legendary marksman, this bow skill that allows an archer to reserve up to five arrows to be fired. The arrows in reserve are levitated in the air beside the bow using the power of mana. Whenever the user should then fire an arrow, the next one will quickly load itself into the slot of the bow, allowing for optimized rapid fire. This skill has a casting time of 3 seconds and a cooldown of 20 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Accelerated Burst: Escape ability . Consumes 1/2 cartridge to instantly propel the warden 4 meters either forward or backward via some explosive rocket charges in their boots. [attr="class","skill"]Carving:Toggle skill. Artisans have a certain affinity with carving stone, making their normal artistic talents not to be underestimated in battle. Artisans deal 20% more damage to Rock-type monsters. They can also ignore defense buffs on Rock-type monsters. [attr="class","skill"]Jousting: The Cavalier's specialization in horseback combat is revealed in their greater proficiency of lance combat. Any two-handed spears or polearms wielded by the Cavalier become one-handed while they are mounted. Additionally, if the Cavalier's main class would normally penalize them from using spears or polearms, this skill allows them to use spears and polearms without penalty.
