| As hot as this place was during the summer, the Sarum frontier had cooled down nicely with the change in the weather. What was once an unbearably hot mountainous range had now become a much more tolerable mountainous range. Patches of grass sprouted here and there as the guardian walked along a familiar path, the gradient of grass and dirt turning into a seemingly endless plain as he walked towards a recognizable monument consist of monolithic slabs of stone.
“How’s it going, you cranky old bastard?” said Ox as he tapped the back of his fist against one of the stones. A dull clank from his armor hitting the block was the only reply he got back. He let out a small chuckle before he realized he didn’t check what time it was, hastily opening his menu to check the in-game clock. 7:03 AM. Oh, thank God. That would suck if I accidentally started this fight all over again. One fight with Stonehenge was enough, and Ox would like to keep that battle count at one for now.
A flick of the wrist, and the menu disappeared from view, giving the guardian an unobstructed view of the scenery before him. A few golems could be seen here and there, but they were too far away for him to determine whether or not they were of the Magicked Ruin variety.
“Eh, I’ll just wait for the other guys to show up,” he muttered to himself, climbing up on the makeshift bed of rock in the center of the monumental arrangement. He tucked one arm behind his head as he lied on the rectangular boulder, unfurling his piece of Magician’s Paper to check on his two ‘research assistants’. He dragged his finger over the parchment’s surface, the map adjusting its position based on Ox’s finger, just like an electronic tablet back in the real world. Thank you, Scoria, for making paper so amusing.
No tell-tale indicators of their presences were noticeable on the map of Sarum. In fact, the map had name pointing to an area off the edges of the parchment. However, when Ox tried to scroll over to that section, the map refused to budge, keeping the map of Sarum neatly within its boundaries. Huh. Guess that’s a bug I’m gonna have to fix. Thanks, Scoria.
Tucking the map away and once again putting his arm behind his head, Ox lost track of time as he looked up at the sky. The old game of finding objects of the sky coupled with his untraditional method of pitting those objects against each other in thrilling combat was a good way for him to kill a couple hours. Or at least, however much time passed until the two of his comrades met him here at Stonehenge.

An electronic ringing brought the Monk into the world of reality once again. Well, this world of reality. One that he had called home for some time now. Rolling over in the bed he was sleeping in, he started to wake himself up, noticing Saeko's arm was still placed gingerly on his chest. Putting the woman's arm on the bed beside her, he stood up. It was time to get dressed, probably. Though it was still early enough in the day that the sun was still making its climb in the sky, he still felt like he wanted to sleep a bit more. Having a woman sleeping next to you is a very comforting thing, even if it's just Saeko. Hiro walked out of the room, and started to materialize his battle clothing, and then his skate board. He wasn't going outside yet, though. He had the skate board out to skate through the halls of Buckingham Palace, where he and his guild now resided. These were some damn long halls, man. It would take forever just to walk out of them. Hiro put the padded wheels on the board, since Renai would probably come over to visit at some point, then spend hours cleaning up the tire tracks in the halls. That guy was a machine, whether he's on duty or not.
Making it outside, he replaced the wheels to the normal ones, and started to make his way through the streets to the Sarum camp entrance. While it wasn't so much a camp anymore, as there was a brick road leading to it, it was still considered a place of commerce. There, many people from Moon Dance Village would be either buying or selling goods to or from Adventurers and other People of the Land, making revenue for their village to grow. Since it was opened to everyone now, and protected by one another, the village was getting a lot of much needed economic prosperity. Smiling as he passed through the area, Hiro hopped off the skate board, and started to walk towards the location of the first boss that he had discovered: Stonehenge. It was about 7:30 at this point in the day now, having left the palace at about 7:15. He should be there within half an hour. Hopefully, @0x1dea wouldn't have been waiting for long. He was called out by his bro fellow adventurer to help him with an experiment or two. The most Hiro could do was help kill the monsters, or keep aggro focused on him, just so Ox could do what he wanted to.
This brought about the question to Hiro's mind: What was Ox planning to do with the monk there? Why was it necessary to bring him in? Maybe Ox was just bored of doing stuff on his own, and wanted a friend, or something close enough to one, to come along to help keep him entertained. Hiro had no problem with this, of course, since Ox was a pretty good friend of his. It was only natural to help your friends out when they ask for it. Perhaps Hiro could entice Ox to help him out with some research at a later time? That was probably something they could work out in a while. But for now, whatever mission Ox was on would take precedence. Hiro continued along his way to the site of Stonehenge, where he and Ox, along with a few others, battled the great stone bitch in a wonderfully painful fight. The memories of that day, having only been a little while ago now, still would resurface every now and again, while he walked. Perhaps they'd be fighting that thing again, but with higher levels and more skills? No idea. Let's just see how it rolls, for now.
Stonehenge soon came within sight. He saw a bulge on top of one of the rocks, and figured that it wasn't just that Stonehenge was happy to see him. Ox was laying right there, he figured. Smiling a little bit, Hiro thought it'd be rude to shout out to the man long before even reaching him. Instead, he'd go with a more direct, normal greeting. Walking up nearby the Guardian, Hiro saluted, and shouted as loudly as he could. "MONK, HIROSAME, REPORTING FOR DUTY, CAPTAIN!" Facing forward, without adverting his gaze towards his friend, Hiro made his loud greeting. A few seconds later, he brought his hand down, and smiled. "How's it goin', Ox? Been a little while, man!" Giving a more normal greeting, compared to what he had just displayed, Hiro leaned in a bit. Looking up at the monument brought Hiro's memory back to the day that they fought the giant monolithic bastard. It wasn't too bad a day, despite how much Hiro got knocked around, so nothing really bad came to mind from it. Instead, it was rather a happy occasion, seeing a good old friend once again. Turning his attention back to his bro, Hiro waited for the man to say something in return, and for the other person who was to join them to show up. Ox would explain things soon enough, so he'd be patient for now.

Do you believe in ghosts? The reminiscent sound of glass shattering made Saber exhale, and he stood up tall as his interface opened up, alerting him that his quest was finished. The man sighed at the sight and looked to his right, staring at the previous location of an oversized Rock Parasite that he had just slayed. He had to kill ten of those things because some old man was afraid that they would invade his farm; which was about a mile away from where they actually spawned. He didn’t even see any of them for a long time and had to actually seek the things out. If the old man was that paranoid, he could have at least picked something to actually worry about. Though, Saber wouldn’t complain to the man or anyone else but himself. He picked the quest and he knew how tedious it would be as he had come to this area multiple times in search of the Parasites for the magical stones some of them carried on their backs. Plus, it gave the Assassin something to do.
With the quest complete, Saber opened his menu and checked the clock; 0600 was the reading. Saber nodded at the sight and began his trek back to the little farm. He had been notified the previous afternoon by a player whom he had met recently, and that player requested his assistance with retrieving something for research. Curious, Saber had agreed to do so and part of him knew that he would not be disappointed by his choice. Yet it was probably a stupid mistake to stay up all night instead of sleeping and getting some rest to prepare for it. He was really tired now, and wanted to sleep, but it was a little late for that. Still, he would deal with it. One night of skipping out on sleep wouldn’t kill him and it didn’t affect his combat abilities. It took three days of no sleep before that happened, but he wouldn’t push himself that hard anymore. He was closing in on his goal, and he would rest after he did so. For now, he focused on the duties before him.
The hills which he stepped out into rolled slightly and gave Saber quite the view, and he took his time as he walked over them. The sun was just beginning to crest the horizon and many of the local farm animals were just waking up. The Assassin’s destination was the town of Rownda, and he could see it in the distance already. He had taken this trip at least four times now because of the quests which its inhabitants called for and it was probably one of the least taxing. The hill he walked on was a steady decline which led him straight to the town. There were no deviants, no monsters, and nothing he had to really avoid or walk around. The man simply had to walk in a straight line for thirty minutes and he would arrive without a hitch at his location. Sometimes, that thirty minutes of silence was interrupted by the occasional farm dog, or a wandering merchant, but there were very few merchants moving so early in the mornings and the dogs didn’t really get let out until the later morning. Today was an example, as the entire thirty minutes was quiet, and Saber had time to rest his mind and soul as he simply enjoyed the view.
In the town, Saber went to the homes of eight different Persons of the Land and turned in a total of ten quests, all had been done the previous night. Then, he went to the local inn and grabbed some food that he could eat on the go and had a few drinks of water. Once he was set, Saber went to the nearby vendor and picked up a dozen or so silks, stowing them away into his inventory. The man smiled and bowed his head at the familiar player as the small bag of gold was slid across the counter and the materials made to disappear. Saber returned the polite bow and then departed, making his way out of the opposite side of the town from where he had come. With his morning duties and evening fun all done and smoothed over, Saber headed for Sarum.
It was an hour walk from where he was, but it was a quick one. Much like his trek down from the forest, the path was mostly clear. There was an occasional stray monster near the road, but they very rarely crossed onto the path. If they did, there was almost always an adventurer or protective NPC Guard nearby to intervene and protect any civilians in the area. Though, the only civilians that really used the path were merchants or horse-back riders. The connection Saber was on led to a city which had yet to open its doors, and so the only reason to go down it was to trade with the players at the distant camp site. Due to this, regular NPCs hardly took the dangerous trek. Saber was happy for that, however. It meant that he wouldn’t be bothered by useless folks or have to defend someone who was dumb enough to attract the attention of a monster. He had been lucky so far to not have such an encounter, and he prayed he never would.
Upon reaching the Sarum zone, continued down the road he was on until he arrived at a fork. He went left, and followed the near road all the way to the player camp. There, he met with one of the clothing vendors and summoned the silks he had purchased back in Rownda. The merchant examined the silks, nodded, and bought the silks for twice the amount Saber had. This merchant was a Lander, so his prices rarely changed. Due to this, Saber tended to make a decent chunk of change whenever he went from Rownda to Sarum. It was enough to support him for a while without any problems, so he did it as much as possible without flooding the merchant. Doing so would have the negative effect, so Saber did his trading very sparingly. It had worked so far, so he kept his fingers crossed.
Now, he was truly done for the day when it came to basic living duties, and it was only 0710. With that in mind, Saber headed towards the one place he had been summoned to, and the only place he actually cared about for the moment; Stonehenge. He was supposed to go there previously, but elected not to. Yet, it seemed he was being forced to go there anyways. As much as he didn’t really want to, he made his way back out to the road and followed the two signs that gave him general directions on how to get to his destination. Thankfully, it was hard to miss. After only ten minutes of walking, Saber sighted the oversized structure in the distance beyond some hills. It wasn’t far so he knew it wouldn’t take long. So, as he started another boring pass over a meadow, Saber pulled his cloak around himself, tucked his nose into his scarf, and tilted his head down so his hood fell over his face more to block out the rising sun.
As Saber approached Stonehenge, he noticed two other fellows were already there and they seemed to be in the middle of a conversation already. Saber wiggled his nose at the sight and stood up a little straighter as he approached the stone structure, but he kept himself quiet as he walked up. He didn’t speak out or try to grab anyone’s attention. Instead, he increased the weight of his steps and made them actually make noise for once, hoping to much more subtly alert the other two of his presence if they had not already. It wasn’t until Saber was standing a few paces away from both men that he actually licked his lips and prepared to speak.
“Gentlemen, pardon my intrusion. I’m Saber. It’s a pleasure. I was summoned most likely for the same reason you two are here; Golems and science.” With those both in mind, Saber crossed his arms and leaned patiently against one of the oversized stones, patiently waiting for the invitation he had received to be properly explained to him

Notes: So, yeah. 20 golems. 18 of them are the regular. The other 2 are Magicked Ruin Golems. Ox hasn't noticed the other.
Oh, and they're all level 20. Feel free to add other monsters if you want.

| Clouds lazily floated by his field of vision, the gladiator fights in his mind involving the fluffy, and somewhat whispy, combatants slowly losing his interest as the steady flow of time made its perpetual progress. After checking his clock, which read 7:15 at this point in time, Ox propped himself on his elbows, casting his gaze on the horizons to make sure a stray golem or two hadn’t decided to pay his lounging spot a visit. Fortunately, that was not the case for this guardian.
Groups of golems peppered the landscape, a golem every now and then emitting a slight blue glow that leaked from the clumps of boulders and slabs of rock that comprised them.
Another half hour slowly passed by, Ox occupying himself by doodling in his notebook or chucking some unstable Mana Fragments here and there, watching the light blue-ish color swirl around in the slight breeze before dissipating into the air itself.
After he bored himself with that motley bit of entertainment, Ox was beginning to think of some other thing to do, a loud, yet familiar, voice sounded out behind him. The sudden noise was almost enough for him to roll off his stone cot. Instead, he suddenly sat upright, turning to face the familiar face of his bro one of the rare people that actually made his friend list. The scowl of annoyance he had on his face was quickly replaced with a friendly grin.
“Damn, you got me good. I didn’t realize you changed your class to an Assassin,” he jested as he let out a small laugh, the kind of laugh you let out when someone plays you like a fiddle. Fond memories of the battle, and not-so-fond memories of the stone beast himself came rushing back, Ox letting out a sad-sounding sigh as he looked at the monument again. “If had my research idea earlier, I probably wouldn’t have had to come out here to scrounge around for materials.”
He kicked a small pebble lying at his feet, watching it roll around in the grass until he lost sight of it. “What’s done is done, I guess.” The Guardian leaned against one of the slabs, looking out over the great plains that surrounded it. The groups of golems he observed earlier were still there, their clusters spreading out a bit more in the past half-hour or so. “Oh yeah, thanks for coming all the way out here to help me with this. Just call me up if you need help with a project your working on,” he said to his friend.
Ox waved his hand in the air, summoning his menu to check the time for the nth time today: 7:52. Just about time for the second volunteer to arrive. As Ox closed his menu, the familiar figure of an Assassin he had partied with approached the two adventurers’ location, accompanied by heavy footsteps as he got closer. Ox gave a polite nod after he finished introducing himself, clearing his throat before explaining the purpose of this little excursion.
“Alright, let’s get started. First of all, my thanks to both of you for agreeing me to help me out with this little project. I won’t bore you with any of the technical details, so I’ll quickly explain the purpose of today’s quest.” Unfurling a roll of parchment, Ox set it down on the slab, pointing to various parts of his charts and sketches as he explained the objective. “To put things rather simply, I need the cores of 8 Magicked Ruin Golems. Unfortunately, it’s not a common drop item and disappears whenever one of the creatures is killed. Plus, in order for me to extract it, I have to physically reach into its chest and extract it, which leaves me completely defenseless. To make matters even more interesting, there’s quite a bit of boulder buddies roaming around today.” He pointed a thumb to the slow but steadily growing clusters of golems in the area around them.
With his speech done, Ox picked up the parchment, rolling it back up and placing it back inside his rucksack. “Anyone got any questions?” he asked, looking both to Hiro and Saber to see if there were any hints of confusion. Once the Q&A was finished and everyone was ready, Ox drew his sword, pointing it at Hiro.
“Hiro, that skill you used back in that fight with ol’ man Stonehenge, you know, the one that removes physical resistance? I’ll need you to use that. It’ll speed up the core gathering process.” Then he pointed the sword at Saber. “And you, Saber, I’ll need you to pick off any mobs that are deemed unnecessary. Which is any mob that isn’t a Magicked Ruin Golem. Seriously, as many as there are today, we’ll probably be overrun if we’re not careful.” Once all was said and done, Ox sent the party invites to the two.
Once confirmations had been received, Ox began walking towards the closest batch of golems, picking up his pace as he drew closer to the small group. When he was only a couple feet away, he went ahead and activated [Siege Breaker], impaling a couple of the smaller golems on his blade. Once the digitized death effects cleared, he found himself in the center of a cluster of about 15 to 20 golems, only one of them glowing with the familiar blue tinge of magical energy.
Adjusting his glasses, Ox held his hefty sword in one hand, pointing it straight at the Magicked golem’s face/head boulder. “You’re mine,” he said, a sinister grin crossing his face as the other golems began to close in. Hopefully the fool didn’t just rush into an ambush. Next time, he’ll make sure someone’s with him before jumping to combat so carelessly.

Before the third member of their party showed up, @0x1dea had given Hiro a bit of flavorful comments, to which he chuckled and nodded. "I wanted to surprise you with that class change. But, you have seen through me, once again, my friend!" Giving a defeated pose, the third member of their group showed up. Hiro put a hand on his side and nodded to the newcomer, who was certainly much more powerful than he and Ox were. Hiro nodded to the man who had introduced himself as Saber, and performed likewise, with a calm smile on his face. "The pleasure's mine, Saber. I'm Hiro. Looking forward to kicking stoners in the teeth with you." The greeting being over and done with, Hiro turned his attention to Ox once again, who was now starting to explain the situation. This was the first he was hearing of it, so maybe Ox wanted to surprise Hiro in return. His clever ruse having been diffused almost instantaneously, Hiro quietly listened in to the explanation that his friend was giving. A few moments later, a sword was pointed to him, and further instructions were given.
Hiro grinned and punched his fist into his other hand. "You got it. bro. Gonna show them just how good at Street Fighter I was back in the other world." Without having any questions to ask, Hiro waited patiently for the next few orders to be given, before moving out with the other two. Before long, though, Hiro took a quick peek over at the group of golems that were massing in a small cluster nearby. Just a bunch of bowling pins, about to be knocked over by the combined might of the three fairly high-leveled adventurers. But, first, the front pin would need to be taken care of. Hiro was going to help Ox with that, just by reducing the amount of defense that the golem probably has as a natural resistance. So, time to get rid of that. Accepting the party invite as it appeared, Hiro took no time to let the others know what he was doing. Since Ox already knew, 2 out of 3 was a good enough number, he figured. Hiro sprung right into the fray, aiming directly at the Magicked Ruin Golem. Hiro brought his fist back, and let the mana charge around his fist. As he grew closer and closer, he thrust his fist up into the air, colliding with the golem's torso.
The debuff had taken effect immediately, and had no time limit to how long it was active. Which meant that Ox could fight the bastard all on his own. Now, what Hiro needed to do was to help keep the other monsters busy, along with the Assassin that had joined up with them. A party was in the works here, and Hiro was most certainly invited. Vaulting himself over the golem into the pit of despair that would be known as a Stone Circle to those who were fans of puns, Hiro included, he struck his battle pose, as Ox pointed his blade to the big bad boulder. Smirking and nodded in the direction of his bro, Hiro turned his attention to the multitude of rocks forming a circle around the adventurers. The monk lowered himself a little ways, before launching himself up and towards the closest enemy, which he planted both his feet directly into the body of. Using the force of the impact zone, he propelled off that one and performed a backhand spring, before donkey kicking the other golem on the other side in one swift motion. Kicking off from that one, he landed back in the middle, before leaping into the air again. He activated Aura Kick and came crashing down.
The shockwave that blasted out from where his foot landed attracted the attention of a few of the golems, effectively taking about six of their attention. Hiro sprung over the golem nearest him and the golems formed a smaller circle around him. This was the kind of fighting that he was used to, and also the kind that he excelled at. Amazonian Tornado was used to keep the damage even at the start of the small skirmish, but after that skill was used, he began to focus on them individually. Since these smaller golems weren't equipped with that physical-resistance stuff that one would expect from a bunch of rocks, they wouldn't take much work to wither down. Hiro began leaping from golem to golem, keeping up a combo of kicks and punches as he landed on each individually, dodging their slow as molasses attacks along the way. It wasn't much of a fight, or even a challenge, but it would be sufficient to give Ox the fight he wanted. From what the Guardian explained earlier, he needed to get the Magicked Ruin Golem down low enough to extract the core by hand. Hopefully, this would give him less of a hassle in doing so, as the aggro would be split from him. Hopefully, anyways. This was the plan, and Hiro liked to stick to plans as much as possible.

Do you believe in ghosts? The introductions were short, almost null as Hirosame kept his greeting just as short as Saber had. That was good, in the Assassin’s eyes. He had been a part of one introduction which had taken much longer then he would have liked, and the swiftness of this one meant that the three of them meant business; which was even better. Saber didn’t have to deal with any useless conversation and focused on Oxford as the man began to explain the reason for Saber being summoned. However, that was when Saber became lost. This man wanted to extract what Saber considered the “heart” of a Magical Golem, and he was going to have to do it when the Golem was alive? How…? Was there some kind of method to it? Saber didn’t see the man with any sort of digging or rock-breaking tools. Then again, this wasn’t exactly Saber’s project. He was probably here just to be extra muscle, which was the case. After Oxford explained what he needed, he asked for questions. Saber shook his head curtly as the instructions were simple enough; Oxford needed the cores from the Magicked Golems which loitered around the fields occasionally. As the blade of Oxford came up, pointing first at Hiro, Saber’s guess was confirmed. Oxford needed him to eliminate any curious non-magic Golems that attempted to interfere with the extraction process. There were no strings attached to the order, and that made the Assassin smirk beneath the cloth which covered his face. He nodded in response, confirming that he understood the order given to him and summoned his menu. He began to navigate to his weapon inventory, pausing to confirm a party invitation that suddenly appeared, and then equipped his bow and his quiver of arrows.
Without waiting for them to depart, Saber pulled his metal bow off his back and wiggled it by his side. The maverick Assassin would couple a combination of attacks today, as his goal would be DPS. He was going to have to kill things quickly and clear areas in order to ensure the safety of his “VIP”, Oxford, while the man did his science work. With the help of Hirosame, there was no double in the player’s mind that this was going to be easy, and fun. Oxford had given the one command that many players enjoyed, but one which Saber thrived in. He leveled by massacring entire zones filled with enemies and did so on a consistent basis because if he didn’t; he wouldn’t get the necessary experience to level. Doing so in the Sarum area was no exception, and he actually found it easier because of how numerous the Golem’s were. As Oxford led them away, Saber turned to follow and saw the first batch; he chuckled.
“May the gods shine upon us, gentlemen.” Saber muttered as he followed the other players, positioning himself on their right flank for a few moments. However, as Hiro dashed off, followed right after by Oxford, Saber raised an eyebrow. He had not seen such a vicious mentality among other players before, and he honestly wasn’t as prepared to dive in, but he wouldn’t let them take all the glory. The Assassin drew his first arrow and nocked it slowly, keeping his eyes on his fellows. Hiro struck first, engaging the only glowing Golem for just a moment before Oxford eliminated a small group of Golems and took over. As Oxford did so, and Hiro separated himself as to take care off a few others, Saber watched the remaining number of Golems close in on the Guardian. He took a headcount; six were on Hirosame, fourteen were closing in on Oxford.
“Let the party begin…” The first arrow was let loose, and it streaked through the air like a bullet. Within seconds, the black arrowhead slammed into the side of the first Golem’s rocky skull. Shortly after the first was hit, several more arrows began to fall from the sky.
Saber’s feet dug into the ground and he took his ranger’s stance, turning himself slightly so that he could steady his bow. His left arm remained fully extended and his hand was steady, but his right arm moved like it was a machine. His right hand grabbed the butt of an arrow, nocked it, pulled the line taut, and then released, followed immediately by another, and then another, and another… The perfectly practiced motion was second nature to the hunter, and all he had to do was breathe and turn. Within a time of ten seconds, the remaining fourteen regular Golems found themselves underneath an iron rain, and their bodies were feeling it. Each arrow after being fired gave off a distinctive gray glow, showing that they had been reforged with strength against physical resistance, which allowed them to pierce the hard bodies of the Golems. Tied together with Saber’s level, the arrows were crippling their targets.
One shot after another dug itself into the stone bodies of the creatures, cracking the boulder-bodies and chipping entire pieces off them. As the Golems started to turn and moved away from Oxford to try and reach Saber, the group left behind a trail of dust and stone. They moved in a small herd, and the lips of the Archer pulled into a devious smile. He halted his barrage just long enough to activate his own aggroing-skill, -Malicious Intent-, and then lifted his bow up into the air slightly. The air around the Assassin grew heavy, and his presence extended out into the area nearby. Several of the smaller animals scattered, darting away quickly as the deathly feeling began to suffocate them, but the Golems became even more attracted to Saber and came towards him even more aggressively. However, they were foolish to do so. The next arrow Saber released shot up high into the air, and was followed by three more. They went straight up, arcing slightly forward before Saber lowered his bow. At their peaks, they paused.
“Congregating Arc…” The whisper fell out of Saber’s lips like a curse of death, and the sky suddenly filled with black dots; arrows. Shortly after appearing, the arrows fell down in various angles, collapsing on herd of Golems. In an instant, ten of the Golems were peppered with the arrows and their bodies crumbled underneath the power of the black rain.
The remaining four were struck, but continued on their march; one of them lost an arm, another was hit in the knee and forced down onto its hands, a third was struck in the skull, causing the head-boulder to split almost in half, and the fourth was hit square in the chest, causing a spider-cracking effect on its core. The last four pressed on, stumbling through the dusty mist of their dying allies, reaching and crawling towards the devil which held the bow. Saber showed them no mercy, leveled his bow, and nocked another arrow. A marking appeared on the arrowhead and glowed red, blinking sharply as the arrow was branded. Saber let fell the final shot, and watched as the arrow screeched through the air. The central Golem was hit in its torso.
“Sleep tight.” Suddenly, the Golem was devoured by a raging fireball and was ripped apart by a fierce explosion as the sigil activated. Caught in the blast, the crawling Golem’s head was blown off. The other two became victims of shrapnel, and their bodies were pelted by superheat rocks as well as the arrows which were embedded in the body of their destroyed friend. The Assassin stood by and watched as the fourteen bodies were turned to nothing but digital pixels, and lowered his bow as his vision was cleared of the dust. He took in a short breath and lowered his bow back to his side, his eyes falling on the positions of his allies as he checked in on them, as well as the area around them.

| The familiar sound of combat rang around Oxford as he faced down the Magicked Ruin Golem, the satisfying noise of boulders crumbling and disintegrating under the Monk’s fists and the Assassin’s rain of death. As much as he’d like to look back and enjoy the spectacle, this golem’s core took priority. As far as the Guardian knew, the method of extracting a golem’s center of life for alchemical purposes was merely a hypotheses that needed to be tested. His utmost concentration needed to be focused on extracting, otherwise the whole thing could fall apart (literally).
Holding the sword in two hands now, Ox swung its blade upward, lopping off one arm, then the other, littering the ground with the fragments of rock and rubble that made up most of its body mass. With a great horizontal swing, the head soon followed behind the arms. With the head and arms gone, he could get to center without too much of hassle. However, the hardest part of the operation now came into view.
With a thrust, Ox stabbed his sword into the ground, using his now-free hands to grab onto the boulders that made up the beast’s upper torso. Using one hand to keep the boulder plating up, the Guardian thrust his other hand into its chest, using his hand as an extension of his mind to pinpoint the location of the core. Ox could feel the slow and steady flow of his mana being extracted as he poked around, feeling a surge of enlightenment as the tiny bits of his psyche collided with the core.
Once the core had been located, Ox closed his eyes tight in concentration, trying to block out all other sounds and noises as he focused on extracting the core. An exchange of mana flowed between Oxford’s mind and the core, the Guardian mentally cutting all connections to the golem’s body before ripping the core out. Ox found himself panting slightly as he sat on the ground with his spoils, observing the remains of the carnage brought about by his party members.
“Geez, either these cores are really hard to extract, or you guys are just really good at your jobs,” he said with a chuckle, tucking the core away into his inventory. “Now that I think about it, I’ll probably be fine with just four cores. I can always get the rest some other time, because these things are a pain in the ass to remove.”
Had he done more as an Alchemist and brought himself up to a higher level, the removal process would probably have sped up exponentially. Sadly, all he did was read books and accumulated research 90% of the time instead of doing things actually pertaining to crafting. He looked at this bright orb of magical energy, observing it as he turned it around in his hands.
As he examined it, he noticed that it didn’t look anything like the mana fragments he often experimented with. Instead, it was more like a tightly knitted clump of magical fibers, each one intertwining with another and working in harmony to provide the necessary inputs and outputs for the golems to perform their duties. Tearing his curiosity-filled gaze from it, he tucked the treasure into his inventory, standing up to address the others.
“All right, with the new adjusted objective, that’s one down and three more to go,” he said with a grin, almost feeling a little anxious to hurry home and begin hooking it up to all of his research equipment. Ox grabbed his sword, letting it bounce a little on his shoulder as he looked back to the other clusters of golems scattered about.
“So, I’m gonna try something a little risky, but it’ll save us a lot of walking in the long run,” he said as he stabbed his sword in the ground beside him. Taking a deep breath, he let out a deep, bellowing shout, activating [Anchor Howl] as the sound echoed all through-out the valley. It was a bit of a stretch, but Ox’s logic behind this was to use the area’s unique acoustic properties to act as summoning mechanism. Or in short, HEY MONSTERS, COME GET SUM.
As the echo faded away, the Guardian though he felt the ground rumbling beneath his feet, some of the little rocks on the ground trembling ever so slightly. His suspicions were confirmed when a giant cloud of dust appeared, along with a horde of golems so big that they made a zombie apocalypse look like a bunch of biting toddlers running around with face paint. The familiar blue glow of magic didn’t emanate from any of these running towards him, but that was fine. They’d probably show up once they cut a swathe through this band of boulders.
With the prospect of battle ahead of him, Ox grabbed his large obsidian blade, holding the pointed end of sword behind him before he swung it as hard as he could in front of him. An angry, rippling red arc of energy streaked through the air, the Guardian’s [Vicious Crusade] crashing into about a dozen of the golems headed towards their position before disintegrating them into bits of rock and digital data. Ox turned back to his two partners, wearing a smile on his face that’s normally seen on those with questionable mental stability. “Alright, time to earn that gold! Hell, I'll even treat you two to a free lunch once we're done here."
Without another word, he rushed to meet the Rolling Stone fan club head on, leaping into the air as the system assisted Ox with his [Ephemeral Guillotine] attack. Another four or five golems disintegrated as his sword cleaved him, Ox taking a defensive stance as they began to swarm him.
With partners like these, one has no enemies.

Hiro was just finishing up with the small group of golems that he was fighting, as his fist crashed into one of them. He drew back his hand a little ways afterwards and swept his body low, dodging a horizontal attack, and then he swerved to the side. Hiro brought his leg up and into the torso of the second to last golem in small group he had, causing it to explode. The last golem, now behind him, swung its rock arm across to hit Hiro, but he nimbly jumped up and out of the way, landing on top of its head. Hiro delivered the final blow by flipping over, and grabbing onto its torso, and pulling it until he landed on his feet. He then arched his back sharply, causing the golem to crash its head into the ground. Suplex is such a fun skill to use in times like these. Standing back up, letting the data flow around him, Hiro looked over to the other two as they were finishing up their own respective battles, and started to walk over nearby @0x1dea. Saber seemed to be done with things already, though, as expected of someone who has already hit nearly-max level.
It looked like Ox had gotten whatever he needed to get for right now, and proclaimed that the number be reduced to four instead of eight for now, just to get back to his laboratory or whatever quicker. He could understand this, as a man of invention himself, as he would like to get back to other projects in a timely manner. However, it was something for Ox, so he had no complaints at all about it. He's gotta do things to help his bro out, y'know? It's all gotta be done. Sadly enough, though, he didn't know this Saber character well enough to be able to make a judgement call on his own motives for being here. Maybe he just wanted to help out with the quest, just because he had nothing else to do. Maybe he wanted to help out Oxford to get better acquainted with the Guardian. However, as it stood, it looked like it was kinda difficult to get a Social Link with Ox without having spent a few quests together. Opening up his menu, he took a look at the Strength Arcana, with a picture of Ox right next to it, and saw that it wasn't maxed out yet. Definitely something to change in the near future, for sure. Hiro needed all them Personas, of course!
Speaking of Ox, there was an open challenge made to all golems in the tri-state area. Walking up next to Ox in a timely fashion, Hiro crossed his arms, looking out across the field where Ox had shouted. Nothing happened at first, looking out. Maybe the golems were seriously all made of rocks, and therefore had no ears. But, it turned out that he was more than wrong, and the monsters were certainly offended by the claim that Oxford may or may not have made. Sure, he just issued an All Points Bulletin for golems everywhere, but there might have been something that Hiro didn't hear, or Hiro didn't think of, while the issue was made. "Very thoughtful, Ox." Hiro said, punching his fist into his other open hand. "Now they do the walking, and we do the fighting." Striking his battle pose, to Ox's right, Hiro waited for him to make the first move. The mob of golems started to mass up towards them, a large cloud of dust (he hoped was just dust, and not some sort of gas) made its way across the field. As Ox had begun to make the move forward, Hiro hung back for just a second, cupping his hands together. Soon, a small ball of energy began to form.
A few more seconds of charging, and the small orb became a large orb, which was very swiftly thrust forward afterwards. Aura Dragon Punch had been charged up to about 30% of his total mana pool, which would be just enough for this rambunctious party of stoners. The energy was released in a powerful blue beam of light, and disintegrated a good few of them on the right side. Afterwards, Hiro followed up with his fist drawn back. The first golem he came into contact with was off on Ox's left, just about to smack down on his friend, which Hiro would not allow to have happen. "Nobody lays a hand on my bro!" He shouted, crumbling the golem's head underneath his fist, then swept his leg down and underneath it, throwing it off balance. He finished it off with a powerful axe kick down onto its body, and vaulted himself back up and standing. It looked like a number of these golems were focused on Ox, which meant he had to swap to the defensive. This also meant that Hiro and Saber would be on the offensive, while Ox took the brunt of the strikes as best as he could. Making sure to aim only for the non-Magicked Ruin Golems, Hiro started his counter-offensive, as the monsters kept their attention on Ox. Bro-Code Lesson #1: Bros before Hoes.

Do you believe in ghosts? With his grouping done, Saber watched as his friendly Monk ally cleaned up the remaining golems, surprisingly performing a suplex on one of them and turned it into dust. The Assassin’s eyebrows rose slightly out of amazement, but he pressed his nose into his scarf and reminded himself that a lot of normally unheard of things could be done in this game. Hell, Saber was able to fight for days on end here. In reality, he could barely stay awake for a day and a half. Seeing a man suplex a Golem was a cool sight, but it probably wasn’t so farfetched to say that it could be done. Besides, the Monk probably had a high strength stat because of his class, and there was probably even a skill for it. Either way, with that last golem finished, it seemed like the initial wave was done, but he had a feeling that they weren’t done yet. As he started to make his way over to where Oxford was, he got to watch as the man pulled the shimmering core out of the massive creature’s chest. The object glowed in the Guardian’s hands as it was disconnected and pulled free, and that gave Saber an idea. He kept it to himself, but he eyed the magical item keenly from a distance. He wouldn’t steal it, as he was here to support his fellow adventurer in the man’s own work, but Saber had a feeling he might be back. Though, how long that would be, he didn’t know. For now, he kept his mind on the current job. With the first core taken out, Saber checked one off the list mentally. There were now seven left to snag, and Saber was quite willing to bring down an army for them… and an Army he would get. “Or not…” Just as he reached the two, Oxford began to speak, and it seemed he had other plans. Rather than gather eight cores, he was going to get four. Well, that just wouldn’t do… Due to the availability of the items, as well as how picky they could be, why would the man drop the number? Hell, even Saber would assist with grabbing the cores if he needed to. There was no doubt in his mind that these things were valuable, and that they would be so. Getting as many as possible should remain the goal, and Saber would take it into his own hands if he needed to. Saber was about to advise Oxford against his choice, but he was a little slow; the number one problem with being more of a thinker than a speaker. “Risky…?” Saber said as he stood quietly beside the two other men, his bow bouncing up and down in his fingers as he opened and closed them, toying with the item’s weight. The Assassin turned his head to Oxford and watched the man shove his blade into the ground, inhaled, and then released a massive battle cry which shook Saber in his bones. In response to the taunting shout, Saber wiggled his nose against his scarf and then looked at the ground; it was now shaking. Oh how lovely. “Welp…” The heavy sigh escaped Saber’s lips and he looked over to the direction Oxford had been facing, looking at the large Golem avalanche in the distance that was beginning to build as all of the Golems in the zone and their grandmothers were gathering up and sprinting towards the three players. Saber grinned at the sight and opened up his menu quickly, depositing his bow and arrow. Long range wasn’t going to be a choice this time, and Saber wasn’t going to be gentle. Instead, he reached to his waist and pulled the two black iron blades from his sides, waking them from their cold, bloody slumber. The Assassin seethed and released a slow breath through his clenched teeth as his eyes narrowed. “I love how you think, Oxford.” A light chuckle fell from Saber’s lips as he watched the Guardian obliterate the first row of stone fools with a powerful blast of wind. The battle was upon them, and Saber didn’t wait a second longer. He twirled his blades and took off into a sprint, heading straight in behind the Guardian as the Monk took a second to prepare on of his own attacks. A few moments later, out of the corner of his eye Saber watched as a large blue ball crashed into the right side of the Stone bowling pins, blasting a few of them apart. The Assassin whistled sharply at the sight and chuckled; at least he wasn’t the only one who liked to blow things up. In order to assist with the mob, and to keep Oxford from being overwhelmed due to him being a Guardian, Saber keyed his main hate-drawing skill, Malicious Intent. He snarled hungrily beneath his scarf and glared towards the herd, his presence bursting outwards the instant the skill was toggled and hung like a curse in the air. Several of the Golems immediately turned to look at him, and that was enough. Saber flicked his blades out to his sides and flipped them into a reverse grip, clutching onto their handles as he lunged forward. Just before he collided with the Stone Moss Pit, Saber hurled himself into the air and fired off the ground like a cannonball. His left blade sparked and began to glow a gently blue as battle was engaged, and his right sword flared pink. The Assassin brought them both up in front of him and crossed them over his chest as he lifted his knees and slammed against the skull of his first target. The Golem roared from the fierce impact, Saber winced, pain tingling in his knees. Yet, he didn’t stop for too long. He planted himself on the Golem’s upper torso, locked his blades against the large creature’s neck, and ripped. The massive stone head’s connection to the rest of the body was split in an instant as the finely sharpened blades cut through the weak rock. Saber’s body absorbed a portion of the damage, and the Golem’s body became weak as the magical damage from one of his blades crippled it. As the head began to roll back, Saber lifted his right leg, tucked his knee to his chest, and planted the heel of his boot onto the large boulder. He sneered, braced, and then shoved it off. With all of his might, the Assassin shoved the head of the Golem away from himself and used it like a bowling ball but as strong as he was, it didn’t go extremely far. The boulder was quite heavy and the action simply caused it to burst forward for a few feet, but the desired outcome was achieved; the massive head slammed into the left leg of the closest Golem, smashing the rocks and causing the creature to tumble. “I need more AOEs.” As the second Golem began to fall, the realization hit Saber like a truck. There was quite a large herd, and he was armed with very few mob-sized attack skills… With that in mind, he jumped backwards and evaded the thrown punch of another Golem, opening his menu. Swiftly, he deposited his heavy swords and pulled his bow and arrows back out. They dealt just as much, if not more, damage than his swords… He should have kept them out in the first place. Yanking his bow off his shoulders, Saber knocked an arrow and fired it. He skipped to his left to avoid another punch and lodged an arrow into his attacker’s elbow joint, locking the arm in its extended position. Then, he cracked the creature’s torso with a heavy shot in the center. The next arrow was in the face, and the fourth hit right beside the third. The head-boulder began to chip apart, and the core crumbled into dust as the hit-points of the creature fell to zero. Saber nocked his next projectile, leveled his shot, and fired again… He loved his ranged weapons. “I’m taking the middle!” Saber announced to his allies before jumping straight up into the air, landing on the head of a Golem which tried to kick him. He used the creature like a springboard, elevating himself even further into the air. With his evasion stat maxed, the Assassin launched up fairly high into the air, and took advantage of it. His hang time would be short, so he got to work and began to fire a shower of arrows at the Golems which were trying to push their way towards the Monk and Guardian. The metal tips split rock, lodged into joints, and crippled limbs as their piercing ability allowed the arrows to dig into Saber’s targets. As he began to fire, the world began to slow. Saber breathed deep, relaxed, and focused… Accel Dance activated, and his attack speed skyrocketed as he began to stack its ability. To make himself even more of an arrow-turret, Saber also keyed Rapid Shot. Let justice be done, though the heavens fall. : Post Title :-Weapon Indecision- : Word Count :1518 : Skills Used :Malicious Intent, Accel Dance, Rapid Shot : Tagged :Saber, Hirosame, @0x1dea : Notes :pewpew Coded By Saber of L33T T3@M

| A large blast of blow energy vaporized a pack of golems on the Guardian’s right side, bits of rock and dust scattering everywhere as he held his sword in a defensive stance. Seeing as how he was going to be in the thick of things, Ox went ahead and toggled [Guard Shift] to allow himself to react defensively against any unnoticed attacks. The slow but steady drain of mana began to flow through his body, his arms and legs feeling like they were sporting consciences as the golems began to surround him. Almost immediately after activating the skill, his arms flew behind him, holding the flat of his blade upwards as the sound of rock hammering against steel rang in his ears. Shifting himself around, he turned to face his assailant, adjusting the trajectory of his sword’s descent when he realized that it was Magicked Ruin Golem. Soon, another Magicked Golem joined the tango, followed shortly after by two more regular golems, the four movable landmasses slowly circling him as more and more drew closer. The Magicked golems must’ve focused on him due to their Mana Aggression skill. Sure, Guard Shift wasn’t really a magic-type spell, but it did use mana, so that was probably more than enough reason for them to go after him. Despite being surrounded by four assailants, Ox felt another smirk cross his face as looked at them. The familiar forms of his brothers in arms giving the other golems hell could be seen behind his current opponents, the smile on his face growing wider as he turned his attention back to the glowing blue form before him. “So, what do ya say?” he asked the heap of rocks in front of him, gesturing to the carnage around him. “Care to join ‘em?” Without even bothering waiting for a reply (since golems weren’t exactly known for being a talkative lot), Oxford stabbed his sword through the body of one of the golems, whipping the giant blade around to slash the other one right through its midsection. Both crumbled to dust, the only evidence of them existing were the wisps on the breeze as they quickly dissolved into nothing, leaving only the two blue boys left. One on his right, the other at his left, and a whole lot more about to attack him from behind. Judging by the sounds of the golems’ rumbling and thumping steps, the second wave would be upon the motley crew of three within a matter of minutes. Three, if they were lucky. Hah, didn’t really want to use the brute force method, he thought to himself, taking a couple precious moments to catch his breath. Not nearly as elegant, but it should get the job done.Reacting as fast as his AGI stat would let him, Oxford dashed to the golem on his right as they both began to close in on him. As he closed in on his target, Ox reeled back his right fist, turning his focus from AGI to STR as he threw everything he had into the chest of the golem. The stone plating might as well have been wooden boards used in a karate demonstration. His hand found its mark, clutching onto the glowing, pulsating core that gave the natural machination its life. A shadow fell across him and the golem he had his arm elbow-deep in its chest, the low, familiar sound of scraping rocks behind him. After fighting golems back in the days of the Sarum combat completion quests, he already had a good idea of what this guy’s attack pattern was going to be. With a grunt, Ox pulled on the core inside the stone beast, using it like a tow rope as he pulled it backwards with him. Rolling on his back, Oxford used his feet to shove the golem upwards into the other golem’s stony fist. The air above him erupted into pebbles, the force of the blow and the collision of the two golems enough to knock the core loose. Both Ox and the cheap-shotting golem flopped on their backs, Ox tucking the core into his pack before slamming his foot into the golem’s remaining shoulder to pin it down. The force of it colliding into its partner had shattered the bastard’s already pieced-together limb, bits of it scattered all over the place along with his now lifeless friend. Half of its chest disappeared as well, making things easy for the Guardian as he reached in and plucked the core from its open cavity like a farmer plucking an apple from their orchard. “Good work, keep it up!” he shouted to the other two as they continued their assault. Ox picked up his broad-bladed sword up off the ground, wiping off the dust as the second wave came at them. Even though the swarms of stoners weren’t really a huge concern and pretty easy to dismantle, the Guardian couldn’t help but feel a little pang of annoyance at the fact that there were far less magicky golems than he hoped for. He almost thought about calling it a day, ready to go home and pay for lunch for both him and his volunteers as a way of saying thanks. That is, until 5 bright, pulsating points of light could be seen in the smog of lesser golems. What was really weird about the sight was the fact that they were blinking. Not just randomly, but as if they were communicating with each other, like the wizened rocks were talking to each other via Morse Code. When one pulsated with light, one of the other four would blink back a response, the others flashing off their own signals when the previous one was finished. Then, before he could think about what just happened, three of the five ‘leaders’ broke off into separate groups, each one taking a regiment of golems with them as they charged at each member of the core-harvesting expedition. Ox held his blade before him, locking his eyes on the leader of his group as it and its entourage of stoners came barreling (or would that be bouldering?) down on him. The Guardian had faith in his two companions for this mission, confident that they could each handle their own against a small army of lesser mobs. Without a second thought, Oxford rushed to meet his opponents in a bout of glorious combat. Through sweat and blood, we give our all.

Muse: Puzzle Plank
Hiro felt his body loosen for just a moment, as he began to get tunnel vision on all the normal golems in the area. It seemed as though both Saber and @0x1dea were having a fun enough time in their own right, and didn't pay much attention to them. Instead, his mind flashed to place where he did not focus at all. So, in the meantime, especially since this post is super late, I think I'll just take over here, and just ramble for a bit, and add a tl;dr as to what is really happening at the bottom, so you guys know what's going on. I honestly have no idea what to write here for you guys, especially since it's late. The only things I remember about this thread were that we were going to use these golem cores to fuel something, but the only thing that comes to mind after that was something about Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Puzzle Plank Galaxy, which I shall supply a link to at the start, so you guys have an idea of what my muse is for making this post. See? It's up there. I'd recommend clicking on it, since it kinda has a lot to do with this post.
All that being said, though, I honestly don't know what it was that I wanted to do for this post. I know that, back in November (ALL THEM YEARS AGO NOW) I had a plan for this post, as soon as I read Saber's post. Well, most of it. To be honest, I skimmed a good bit back then. Which is ironic, since I probably should have reread it, just for the sake of knowing what exactly happened in it. I did also read Brox's post when it came out, and all I noticed was the fact that he misspelled blue as blow. I dunno why, but that just caught my interest a hell of a lot more than the post itself. I mean, how often does Oxford misspell things? Not including Skype. It's rare, even then! But, it's also kind of funny. Sorry, bro, it's just a bit entertaining to think about. As for Saber, sorry for not rereading the post. I'm sure you had some badassetry going on in your post, but lord knows I don't have the mindset to read it right now. Like I keep saying, especially because this post is so late. Which I would like to apologize for, except that would just mean some extra wordage that would be deemed unnecessary.
So I won't! Instead, let's talk more about fun stuff. Like what Oxford wanted to do with the- Hold that thought. I just realized how my Google Chrome doesn't recognize Hiro as a word, whereas both Oxford and Saber are correct words in the English language. Sucks to suck, me! Anyways, so the energy source thing from the Golem Cores was a really good idea, and I'm pretty sure it was Saber who came up with it. Nice going with that. I specifically remember that day, because the wireless at college wasn't working at all, and I had to sit among a large number of fat broads who talked about nothing except make-up and the guy who rejected one of them. God. I wonder why. She was annoying as shit. She even started crying while she was telling her friends. I mean, I have nothing against fat people, but the fact that she was so annoying, and still wondered WHY the guy she liked didn't like her. From what she was talking about, he even said that he found her annoying. Irony hits idiots the hardest, in my opinion. Well, not even my opinion. That's just how the world works. That's how it rolls.
Speaking of rolling, I should hurry along with this post. I don't even know what the hell I'm typing, so if things seem incoherent to the normal of how I type, just accept it as a very bored Hiro trying to finally make a post that will entertain you two. Or at least try to. but getting back to the energy source, it's actually a pretty good idea. After this thread, we should definitely put it up as a possible theory. Which is basically what I'm gonna do with the guns, when I post for that. But, for now, I figured you guys deserve a post before I do anything else tonight. I'm gonna work on that after I post about Hiro getting drunk with Neun, as well as the giant centipede she calls the Foreman. God, if I was Hiro, I'd be shitting bricks if I saw that monstrosity sitting just on the other side of tiny little Caerbannog. Speaking of Hiro, he's probably wondering why the person posting for him is a deranged lunatic who is just posting whatever the hell comes to mind. Like I said, though, I'll have a tl;dr for Hiro in just a moment. I'm just trying to get a respectable amount of words out for this. In any case, I'll get started on the tl;dr now, and I'd like to apologize for the really stupid post. You guys rock, for waiting this long. o7
tl;dr: Hiro punches shit. Basically all there is to it. Great tl;dr, right?

Do you believe in ghosts? Saber’s time in the air was well spent, but it had come to an end as he started to descend back to the ground. The man clenched his teeth and rolled over his head, his feet sticking out and his body straight lining. With a heavy stomp, Saber returned to the planet of the Unfounded Kingdom. Unluckily, a golem was positioned underneath him. The soles of the Assassin’s boots smashed into its skull and pushed the mass of stone backwards, its center of gravity rotating and causing the Golem to fall. It let out a low rumble and its hands flailed in the air slowly as it attempted to save itself; but there was nothing to grab. There was nothing to stop its plummet, nothing to save it from Saber’s rage. Unsupported by the world which birthed it, the Golem crashed into the dirt with a hard crunch and cracked the earth beneath it. Just before it touched down, Saber hopped forward to keep himself from being damaged and dove down onto his shoulder, tucking his head in and rolling over onto his feet. As he landed in a crouch, the Assassin tucked his nose against his scarf; the air was thick with dust now and the cloth provided a small filter for him to breathe through. Each breath was short and ragged but the man inhaled deep, taking in as much air as he possibly could. Some of the filth was able to get through, but not enough to where it was difficult for him to breathe. Saber coughed a few times but they were light and short as wind saved him from the worst of it all. However, as the first group’s numbers began to disperse and whittle away, he caught sight of a second group on its way. It wasn’t extremely far off, but the destination for the Golems was absolute. He needed to be quick. With that in mind, Saber exchanged his bow and arrows for his heavy swords once more, unsheathing them immediately. With a hard push, Saber accelerated into the first group of Golems he still had to deal with. His blades moved like clockwork as the player weaved from one stone being to the next. Five slices for each Golem, two into each knee to break the support limbs, and then one finisher across the torso. His attacks were swift, painless, and ended the lives of several of the initial Golems, leaving Saber with nothing but dirty air to inhale. Then again, such a thing made him grin. The battlefield was becoming a graveyard for the Golems and the game was throwing everything it had at the three Adventurers; and they were stuffing it all back into the digital world’s face. They were killing these Golems by the bushel, and the world was having issues creating more it seemed as they weren’t appearing all around them. No, they were coming in hordes from other areas. The game simply didn’t seem to be able to keep up with the crumbling stones, and as each Golem vanished, the area the trio was in seemed to be getting more and more barren. It was a fantastic sight, and Saber licked his lips as he watched the oncoming horde break into three. Squeezing his blades, the Assassin bolted out of the cloud of stone and life he stood in and pounded the land beneath him, racing towards the next group of Golems without caring for what strength they could have. His eyes narrowed, his blood pumped, and the adrenaline filled his veins. He seethed with satisfaction, grinning from ear to ear beneath his scarf as he closed in on the next group. He didn’t wait for them to come to him, but instead met them in the middle with his blades ready. Saber couldn’t wait for them, he couldn’t wait for the rush! The rush of war, the rush of battle! The man thrived in the stress and lived for the next fight. He was patient, but not today. No. The Golems before the horde in front of him had warmed him up and he was excited; excited to fight! It brought a smile to his face because he knew that he was going to enjoy this… He was having fun. “Join your brethren in Hell!” Saber shouted as he jumped forward, his blades ready as he dove into the next group head one, their eyes fixing to him as he began to engage. The Assassin’s arms moved quickly and his feet danced with elegance and speed, maneuvering the player from one enemy to the next! One by one, the Golems were struck by the raging machine of battle and Saber continued to smile. His eyes open, his vision widen, and his mind raced. Slash left! Right! Down and cross! Spin left! Duck, slide, jump! Lung! Thrust! Cut, stab, slash! Bring them down! All of them! Show them the true meaning of war! : Post Title :-Strength of the Wolf- : Word Count :826 : Skills Used :N/A : Tagged :Saber, @0x1dea, Hirosame: Notes :getrekt Coded By Saber of L33T T3@M

| Oxford roared as his feet stomped the earth, barreling past the leader’s lackeys as he drove his sword straight through its torso. With a twist and a pull, the leader’s body was now no longer a slave of its legs, its top half thudding on the ground as the lower half collapsed into a pile of rubble. With a wide swing of his massive blade, the guardian activated [Aura Saber] as he did so. What was once a gathering of sentient piles of boulders had been turned into nothing more but coarse gravel, rocks trickling down the newly formed hills with small clinks and clatters. Perfect for lining one’s driveway or for other various urban planning projects that necessitate large quantities of useless rock. With those distractions gone, Ox stabbed his blade through the arm of his opponent, squatting down to place his hand on the center of it’s now exposed core. A few moments later, a newly acquired core was added to his collection, adding +1 to the inventory, and -1 to the necessary amount he needed to gather.Standing upright, Oxford surveyed the rest of the area to see how Hiro and Saber were doing. Of course, the two of them were kicking ass and taking names, but both the leaders still stood. Which was good for the guardian, because he really needed those cores for his research. He ran over to the one his bro Hiro (who appeared to be giving monologue on matters that Oxford wasn’t aware of) was taking on, swinging his sword to cut the golem’s legs off at the knees (boulder caps, rocks, some other anatomically correct word for a golem’s knee). As its body fell, another quick slice of the sword severed its head, the main chest cavity falling with a thud on the ground and narrowly missing Oxford’s feet. Despite these golems being incredibly low level in comparison to the adventurers, a giant chunk of rock landing on your foot could still hurt like hell. With a quick stab n’ grab, another core was gathered and deposited into his inventory for later experimentation. After collecting the required goods, the guardian then made his way over to Saber’s position, stopping for a moment to watch the flurry of blades surrounding the assassin that quickly and precisely chipped away at diminishing golem forces. It was like watching a bunch of gargantuan rocks get pulverized inside a giant blender. Now there’s an idea: make a smoothie out of them and market it as a ‘Rocky Road’. People would be lining up in the streets just to purchase it for the pun value alone. Passing up on this business opportunity (or should I say, rock-ortunity? Yes, that was bad. Stop throwing rocks at the author.), Oxford managed to pull his mark out of the CuisineArt’s deadly dance of death, offering to give it a private lesson instead. This dance that Ox taught to the two-left-feet golem was something made up on the spot called the ‘Sword Salsa’, in which after the part where Ox dodged or deflected all the Magicked Golem’s attacks, he brought it down to the ground. The hardest part to pull off (or out, in this case) was the core, as it got snagged on a protruding rock formation as the guardian removed it. 6 out of 8 cores gathered. Not bad, only 2 more now.As Oxford looked out at the last remaining groups of golems, the leaders turned to face each other. As they did so, the once steadily blinking lights within them began to blink rapidly, as if they were having an emergency tactics discussion or something along those lines. After their ‘conversation’ ended, they both turned toward the trio of adventurers, a red glow now protruding through their boulder-ish frames. They slowly advanced forward, both of them advancing on the guardian as the remnants of the golem horde began to split and swarm around the monk and the assassin. No prob, Ox thought to himself as he spun his blade in his hand, ready for them to bull rush him like the others....but that never came. Instead, one stopped directly in front of him, the other flanking him from behind as the two began to draw their cooperative pincer attack shut. Another Aura Saber would be enough to dissuade them from coming any closer, but that was the thing: they weren’t coming any closer. Instead, they slowly circled Oxford, as if they were biding their time for something…but what? Ox gritted his teeth and lunged at the one in front of him, but it leapt backwards as the one behind him ended up bringing its hands up in the air, the stony fists clubbing Oxford in the head. If this was the real world, the blow probably would’ve knocked him dead, but instead, it ended up dazing him slightly as it chipped off a chunk of his HP before it jumped back to its original position behind him.Ox reached up and felt the back of his head, the smell of blood hitting his nose before he saw it coating his fingertips. As he stared at it, he felt a small smile draw across his face, gritting his teeth as he turned to face the golem in front of him. “So, you guys are finally starting to learn how to fight, huh?”The golem’s energy merely pulsed at the same rate as the two waited for him to make his next move. When you find yourself caged, kick down the door. |
