It is made up of two 'fleur de lis's, one above his eye, right way up, and the other below his eye, upside down. The only notable disability that Neon has is his eyesight. Being short-sighted, he requires a pair of red-rimmed glasses which he wears constantly, though he can survive relatively well without them. Neon, like his real-life counterpart, prefers casual style and comfort for his clothing, usually opting to wear loose outfits. He prefers not to be formal, keeping formal attire for special occasions. His favourite colour choices when it comes to clothing are darker, more serene colours, such as blues, blacks, and whites. When in public, Neon prefers to make a good first impression, keeping himself well-organised and neat. He can sometimes be a 'neat freak', and if he had a desk, you can bet everything on it would be arranged meticulously and perfectly. Neon is calm and collected individual, and his walk reflects this, showing himself off as relaxed, but not so slow as to make him seem sloth like. He can, when excited or intrigued (due to his inquisitive and curious nature), become jumpy and bouncy in his walking and general posture. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"]Neon is a rather introverted individual, enjoying solitude, peace and quiet above socialisation. However, he values friendship highly, and goes to sometimes extreme lengths to protect those he holds dear, putting others needs above his own in every scenario, which is most likely why he chose to be an Enchanter, focusing on keeping his teammates going, rather than himself. He is an intellectual, and meticulous planner, one who strives to make sure everything is organised and planned before hand, and this can show in his fighting style and the way he perceives the battlefield. He would much prefer a good, theoretical book than a social gathering to celebrate or spend his time, but is open to trying new things and experiences. When given a task, Neon strives to complete it, sometimes earlier than the given deadline. He puts 110% into everything he does, no matter the circumstances, and this can make him seem serious at times. However, deep down, Neon is a caring person, cherishing others experiences as well as his own, and because of this, he shows sympathy and empathy towards others easier than most. Overall, Neon is a thinker, preferring to evaluate any situation with logic and reason rather than feelings and emotion, but this isn't to say he completely lacks the ability to show compassion. On the contrary, he could be described as caring more than any other. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"]A world to escape to. That's what Neon saw in Elder Tale. A chance to live a life without the worries of reality. As a child, Neon had it rough. The only child of a Scottish farmer and his loving wife, he was always lonely, always lacking in companionship. His parents couldn't help him, and with being so busy working the farm, they had little time to spare for him, especially during his childhood. Left to fend for himself almost completely, he cherished his books and readings, enjoying every word he read from the page. It was all that kept him going, especially after the accident. During farm work, his mother and father were hospitalised when the tractor lost control and broke down, but not before causing an intense flame when the sparks of the engine met the fields. Spreading too fast for them to handle, the mother and father managed to get Neon out the house, sacrificing themselves. Luckily they were saved in time for their lives to be spared, but the horror and shock of the situation, and the damage their bodies had taken from the fires, left them in the hospital for years on end. Adopted by his rich living city relatives, he had an easier lifestyle, though he was mentally damaged by the terrible event, excluding himself from the world in his room with his books, and only coming out for the bare necessities. This all changed when his 18th birthday came around, and he was given a remarkable present. A computer, all to himself, and a new game that had just released their British server... Elder Tale. And so the boy joined the game, becoming enamoured by the games opportunities, and the chance it gave him to escape the horror of the world. He jumped right in, without delay, making an Enchanter so that he may help others and be social, and become an asset. With Elder Tale, he gained not only an escape, but a chance to have a role... to have the opportunity to give others help, where he was given none. As long as this skill is active, the character will always know which direction is north. This skill is particularly effective when exploring in uncharted territory. [attr="class","skill"]Magic Light: The user summons a bright ball of light. This spell has no real offensive properties and is mostly just used for illuminating a dark area. One particularly characteristic about the Magic Light is its face, which changes expression in a way mimicking its owner. It's often voted consistently near the top of annual Elder Tale "Which of these summons would make a good plushie for Elder Tale to sell as merchandise" polls. It comes in three forms - a spherical orb, a ball of flame, and a bundle of small firefly-like lights. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a duration of 2 minutes for Mage classes. For any other class, the duration of this skill is dropped to 30 seconds. There is no cooldown for this skill, but it cannot be conjured again for 10 seconds after it has worn off or manually canceled. [attr="class","skill"]Astral Bind: Astral Bind is best known for its quick casting speed, causing magical chains to shackle the target's limbs and restrict any movement further than about a meter. Because of this, it's especially effective against DPS melee fighters, but not so much for ranged or magic classes. It normally wears off after 6 seconds, but can be resisted against to reduce its duration by roughly 2 seconds. A target who chooses to resist may not perform any offensive skills for 2 seconds after the binding is lifted. This skill's debuff classification is Mind. This skill has a casting time of 1.5 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Astral Hypno: Astral Hypno is a spell that induces a sleep debuff on the target, preventing them from making any actions until they are struck or after ten seconds have passed. The higher a target's wisdom stat, the higher their chances of resistance. It has a fairly low cooldown time for its effect, making it a very useful spell to be used for incapacitating an opponent. This skill's debuff classification is Sleep. Every time this skill is used on a target that was previously targeted by it, the sleep duration is reduced by 2 seconds. This skill has a casting time of 4 seconds and a cooldown of 15 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Keen Edge: A spell that allows the Enchanter to increase the physical attack power of the party's weapons. This spell only affects the weapons that are currently equipped, so weapons in the auxillary slot or inventory do not get this bonus. If the weapon is deequipped or if the character dies, the buff is canceled. Because the effect of Keen Edge lasts for almost an entire hour, it's often casted at the beginning of an expedition and before major fights. Recasting this skill causes its effect to return to the full duration. This skill has a casting time of 10 seconds and a cooldown of 60 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Mana Channeling: The Enchanter takes a few moments to link with targeted party members, connecting their psyche. All party members within this link have their MP distributed evenly. If a party member's MP is restored to full, their connection is severed and remaining MP is redirected to another character. The activation of this skill causes a temporary strain upon the body as though part of the body's consciousness is being transferred. This skill has a casting time of 3 seconds and a cooldown of 30 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Mind Shock: A spell that launches a single orb to cause minor damage and disorientation on nearby opponents within 5 meters of the point of contact. While under the effect this spell, the side-directional movements of an opponent are reversed - attempting to jump to the right causes the body to jump to the left instead. Because of this, targets have their accuracy and evasion partially compromised. This skill has a duration of 30 seconds. Mind Shock's casting time is 5 seconds and its cooldown time is three minutes, making it a usually one-time spell in most battle situations. This skill's debuff classification is Mind. [attr="class","skill"]Transcription: Scribes are known for their ability to copy and examine documents carefully. This allows them to obtain the Adventurer skill [Mythic Script] as a Beginner-level skill without it taking up a skill slot. Their knowledge also allows them to use and read grimoires in the Ancient Text, allowing them to use grimoires without penalties and perform some basic magic attacks depending on their Magic stat. If the character can already use grimoires through racial or class bonuses, grimoire damage increases by 10%. [attr="class","skill"]Battle Perception: Toggle skill. Battle perception allows the Pathfinder to notice nearby monsters more easily by displaying their names and levels above their heads. It allows the Pathfinder to detect monsters about 3 meters further than a normal character, and is most useful for preventing ambushes. They are not really protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it.
