[attr="class","ws"] [attr="class","h"]ADLER [attr="class","fc"] [attr="class","bi"]REAL NAME: Isabella Rose [attr="class","bi2"]REAL GENDER: Female [attr="class","bi2"]GENDER: Female [attr="class","bi2"]AGE: Twenty Five Years [attr="class","bi2"]SEXUALITY: Heterosexual [attr="class","bi2"]FACE-CLAIM: nailah, FIRE EMBLEM: RADIANT DAWN [attr="class","bi2"]PLAYED BY: Bellona [attr="class","h2"]Appearance [attr="class","b"]Adler rarely assumes the rigid stance that would clearly show her six feet of muscle and sinew, preferring instead a more relaxed pose that allows her to blend into a crowd. Since The Catastrophe, her build has softened from its original body builder’s physique, but is still muscular enough to be identified as a melee class in one glance. Though typically reserved, Isabella was in a mood and exercised little restraint when she designed her alt character and had made Adler absurdly conspicuous; her thick wavy pale thistle-gray hair for example, paired with bright emerald eyes, made an unusual combination with her tanned skin, itself already covered in tattoos common to those who belonged to the Race of Ritual. For clothes, Isabella chose those that would have belonged on a gypsy; in deep black and red and gold, her outfit was tight around the torso, but had flowing fabric for sleeves and skirts, finished off with unremarkable sandals that exposed her toes and the tops of her feet. As it is a game however, Adler's unusual appearance is easily overlooked when she goes around in an unassuming manner. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"]Adler was created so that Isabella could spend time pretending to be somebody she was not, as a way to try out different personalities and choices behind the anonymity of an avatar; generally, she is no longer as reserved. Isabella keeps her identity a secret, even from the friends she’d made on her first character, but she wasn’t an actress or a spy; the duplicity is obvious to those looking for it and repels a number of people who feel they have better things to do, but there are traits Adler consistently displays. No matter what mood strikes, Adler is a woman of her word. There is a clear line she will not cross, though where it lies is known only to her. She never kills a player who didn’t deserve it (though there have been incidents where she wonders what it’s like to harass people), but by default, Adler does not go looking for trouble, nor does she meddle in others' affairs. Isabella is easily influenced by the temperament of those around her and matches Adler’s behavior to theirs; she is vastly different when with a studious group of scholars than when she hangs out in a pub. Though she can lose herself in the role, it rarely takes long for her to snap back to her senses and get out of a bad situation, or return to her less than virtuous lifestyle. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"]Isabella Rose was born and raised in a small apartment in Leeds, as the only child of a predominantly Caucasian couple of mixed heritage. When she was young, her parents (both bankers) would leave her with one of their neighbors to mind her while they were at work. The young housewife was kind and artistic, and usually left Isabella to preoccupy herself with a set of paints and paper while she worked on her own projects. When she grew old enough for school, Isabella spent time with her classmates while her own parents were still at work. She moved from group to group, joining in whatever they did, not truly finding anyone she would consider a best friend until secondary school. They hadn’t gotten along at first, but several conversations over a year that culminated in a shared secret turned into a strong bond. The pair of them could talk about anything without shame, and differing interests didn’t stop them. Celia didn’t join Isabella when she first signed up for Elder Tale under the alias “Bellona” and played as an Elf Monk Berserker. Isabella quit a year later to focus on her studies (her surprisingly supportive parents didn’t want her getting into banking anyway), and didn’t return to the MMO until she settled into her job as an animator for a local studio. For her own amusement, Isabella created an alt character with an unusual combination of skills. She had just logged on to explore the new world unlocked by the latest expansion, when The Catastrophe happened. [attr="class","h3"]Extra [attr="class","b"]

For every blow that the target lands on the guardian, a small amount will be nullified. This defense is made all the more apparent when it comes to weak multiple-strike attacks. The Guardian's MP is slowly sapped as this skill remains active. [attr="class","skill"]Heavy Anchor: Tier I Guardian Skill This skill is performed by facing a nearby target at equal footing. The Guardian slams their foot into the ground, causing the opponent to essentially be pinned to the very spot they stand. Neither of you will be able to move while the skill is active. [attr="class","skill"]Resilience: Tier I Guardian Skill A passive ability of the Guardian. Due to their highly defensive class role, their HP regenerates faster outside of battle compared to other classes. Additionally, they regenerate a small amount of HP every couple of seconds. This passive battle healing is not very high, but it might prove to save one's life in the long run. [attr="class","skill"]Stepover: Tier I Guardian Skill Traps are everywhere in a dungeon. Wired arrow traps, falling ceilings, spiked floors, crushing walls, perhaps even some of your teammates are traps themselves. In any case, this skill deals with providing the Guardian with the ability to temporarily reduce the damage taken from area hazards drastically and to override the obstacle to ultimately break the mechanism. By finding a way through an otherwise rigged pathway, it might be possible to find a shortcut. [attr="class","skill"]Counter Break: Tier I Guardian Skill Special Skill. Every force has an equal and opposite reaction. When attacked, the two options are usually to move out of the way or brace and block the attack somehow. However, some choose a third unusual option which is to face the attack head on with a display of power of your own. By literally attacking an attack with an attack, you not only mess up the collision point but you negate most of your opponent’s power using your own kinetic energy. Also, if you surpass your opponent in power sufficiently, it is possible to break apart the opponent’s attack so significantly that you can chain it into an attack of your own. [attr="class","skill"]Shield Mastery: Tier I Guardian Skill Passive skill. As the premiere tank of Elder Tale, the Guardian's signature equip is their large shield. Even so, it's rather bulky and takes some time to get used to for most players. As Shield Mastery progresses, the apparent weight of the shield decreases and its defense increases. [attr="class","skill"]Shield Smash: Tier I Guardian Skill The Guardian's signature style is the large of a large shield. By ramming the opponent with this skill, it's essentially ramming the target with an iron wall. Naturally, such an action will pretty much interrupt any skill that an opponent is casting. [attr="class","skill"]Prediction: 1st Fortuneteller Skill The fortuneteller is able to see into the future and predict certain situations. This skill allows them to survey an area of radius 5 meters from their current position. All monsters that will spawn within the next 5 minutes will appear as semi-transparent figures with timers above their heads showing their spawn time. This information is only visible to the Fortuneteller. While some Fortunetellers use this as a way to avoid trouble, there's been a number of field boss hunters who like to have one with them so that they can predict the incoming monster and make preparations. [attr="class","skill"]Prophecy: 2nd Fortuneteller Skill The fortuneteller declares the name of a skill while in combat with an opponent, at which the skill's icon flashes above the fortuneteller's head. If the opponent uses that skill within the next 20 seconds, then the fortuneteller and their party members receive minor healing. Against an opponent with predictable combat patterns, this skill can serve as a helpful sustainer. Prophecy wears off after a successful declaration, and its cooldown time is 40 seconds from the moment it is used. [attr="class","skill"]Carving: 1st Artisan Skill Toggle skill. Artisans have a certain affinity with carving stone, making their normal artistic talents not to be underestimated in battle. Artisans deal 20% more damage to Rock-type monsters. They can also ignore defense buffs on Rock-type monsters. [attr="class","skill"]Quick Architect: 2nd Artisan Skill Through a process of trial and error, fledgling Artisans are able to learn the techniques for producing crafted materials quickly. This allows them to create temporary structures of stone, given enough available materials. However, this comes with the cost of making the object extremely fragile, to the point where even a moderate impact can completely shatter it. It's said that some Artisans have attempted to turn this quirk into an unusual battle strategy when fighting atop stone-filled mountains. [attr="class","skill"]Placeholder: 3rd Artisan Skill A placeholder skill for Artisans. It will most likely be rock solid. [attr="class","h3"]Equipment [attr="class","b2"] [attr="class","skill"]Armor: Polished Plate Armour (Level 10 Plate Armour): While not made of incredibly useful materials, this plate mail has been crafted to a high standard and subsequently polished to an almost mirror finish by its crafter, the blacksmith Eadon. While not immediately noticeable, the armour has the lyrics "Just when you realize there's nothing left to regret, Move on over, number one's about to rock it," engraved on the back. [attr="class","skill"]Left Hand: Lucerne Glaive (Level 10 War Hammer): Of comparatively small size to many of its contemporaries, this is a shortened haft hybrid weapon that is a cross between a Lucerne hammer and a glaive. Despite it's odd composition it is none-the-less well made and features a long sharpened glaive style blade on the top, a pointed spike on the back end and a larger hammer on the front. While its small size and shaft means it can't deliver as powerful of a hit as a larger two handed weapon, it makes up for this with pinpoint accuracy, the ability to be wielded with one hand in combination with a shield, in a similar way to ancient Greek hoplites and its ability for a more concentrated application of force. [attr="class","skill"]Right Hand: Shield of Bellona (Level 10 Painted Metal Shield): This is a large metal shield in a kite shape, crafted with embossed edges and rivets along the edges of the shield itself. It is reasonably well made by the blacksmith Eadon, and has few noticeable imperfections, though the materials used in its creation are still of a low level and bought from a shop. The shield is decorated with a painting of a Celtic Goddess of War, Bellona painted by Adler. [attr="class","skill"]Accessory#1: none [attr="class","skill"]Accessory#2: none [attr="class","skill"]Accessory#3: none [attr="class","skill"]Accessory#4: none [attr="class","h3"]Inventory [attr="class","b2"] Starter Buckler: A starter shield designed for novice adventurers, made out of cheap iron and wood. It is well-balanced and easy to use but doesn’t really feel too sturdy. You probably should get this replaced as soon as you can. Starter Kunai: A starter weapon designed for novice adventurers, made out of cheap iron. It doesn't have much of a blade, but possesses a passably sharp point. This weapon is attached to about 10 feet worth of rope, allowing it to work as a temporary ranged weapon if necessary. Just be careful not to lose it in the process, else you'll have to spend some time retrieving it. As far as weapon categories go, this starter weapon counts as a one-handed dagger rather than a throwing weapon. Starter Platemail: A basic set of plate armor made from cheap iron. They are not really too protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it. Terra Cotta Bowl: A basic bowl styled along the aesthetic of Oriental craftwork, crafted by Adler. NPCMV: 40 gold. The Plantform at Noon: Mrs. Tippyfoot anxiously awaits the next pumpkin to Warrenton. A painting by Adler. NPCMV: 55 gold. Stone Whistle: A small hand-sculpted whistle commonly made and used by shepherds and children. Though small and simple, the sound can travel up to five kilometers if there are no obstacles between you and your target. |
