[attr="class","ws"] [attr="class","h"]CARADOC [attr="class","fc"] [attr="class","bi"]REAL NAME: Haibara Masaki [attr="class","bi2"]REAL GENDER: Male [attr="class","bi2"]GENDER: Male [attr="class","bi2"]AGE: 18 [attr="class","bi2"]SEXUALITY: Pansexual [attr="class","bi2"]FACE-CLAIM: kozato enma, KATEKYO HITMAN REBORN! [attr="class","bi2"]PLAYED BY: Fernweh [attr="class","bi2"]FACTION: Adventurer [attr="class","h2"]Appearance [attr="class","b"]Upon first glance, Caradoc normally comes off as a rather gloomy and solemn guy. Half-lidded eyes, a furrowed brow, and a slight frown give him an almost mournful look, something which the plasters and bandages decorating his face don't seem to help. Standing at 162 cm (5'04"), he's a little on the short side, and due to his slim figure, it's no surprise that he's as light as 50 kg (110 lb). Ruby eyes with strange compass rose-shaped symbols for irises and flaming red hair are his most defining features, and though his skin is pale, it tans rather easily under the sun. Being a Half-Alv, he has a small, almost heart-shaped symbol on his tongue. In-game or not, the teen's been known to dress casually. He prefers neutral colors and is typically seen in black and white, though he isn't beyond wearing lighter shades of other, brighter colors. Beyond the armor he has to wear for protection, he frequently dons hoodies or simple t-shirts and jeans. When he needs to look a little neater, he tends to clip some of his hair to the side. The plasters and bandages always stay on his face though, and a medical eye patch sometimes accompany them. These are reminiscent of his time in the real world, back when tripping rendered lasting physical injuries. It's become habitual of him to stick them on his face. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"]Soft-hearted and a little meek, Caradoc is a rather small but gentle soul. He's quiet and not the most outgoing of people, making it easy for him to fade into the background when around large groups. For someone like the redhead, however, this isn't so bad. Dreamy by nature, disappearing out of view gives him time to observe and ponder things that he normally wouldn't have the time to. This makes him a bit of an airhead sometimes, and he's a kind of sleepy person who sometimes wanders off to do things at his own pace. As a result, he can be a little clumsy, and is prone to tripping and falling. Despite the slight anxiety complex that comes with being such a wallflower, Caradoc finds that being quiet and observant makes him more understanding of others and a better listener. This makes it easier for him to communicate within smaller groups. It also, however, makes him an emotionally driven person, and he'll listen to his feelings and instincts more than he does to the logic of his mind. Emotions tend to crowd out his thoughts, and he's more than aware that if he thinks too much in an urgent situation, he'd likely confuse himself with all his second-guessing and would rather just let his body act on its own. Don't mistake his soft-spokenness for lack of will or cowardliness though. When the situation arises, Caradoc is not above trying to cast away his "weak" self and rising to meet the challenges given to him. Key word being "trying". Sometimes, it works, and sometimes it doesn't, but when he is successful in overcoming his own barriers, he can be a determined little thing who'd even speak up for his beliefs in the face of fear and hesitancy. It's not something that comes out often though, since the boy's mostly content with just going with the flow, and it's mostly a result of the more impulsive side in him. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"]Of course, Haibara Masaki's life was nothing tragic. He lived, he breathed, he simply was. Nothing special. He didn't really expect much from it either; he was just an average kid doing average things, trying to live his average life as best as he could. That's all that there really was to it. Like most normal people, he had decently loving parents, not exactly doting but not cold either. He went to school, made friends, studied hard, joined the archery club, and simply lived. Masaki was, altogether, pleased with the way his life was. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either, and that was something he could deal with. To some people, however, such a life of normal complacency wasn't very fulfilling. This was the case of the boy's close friend, Shirotani Hisashi, who wanted more, more. He wanted more out of his life. He wanted to go places and see people, he wanted to become a name that wouldn't be forgotten even in the sands of time. He aspired to be a hero, a main character of the story that was their life. Masaki was fine with that. He had no qualms with being a side character. Letting Hisashi take the reigns, he let the other boy drag him into trouble and do things no one had tried before. It was dangerous, and they were sometimes pretty stupid, but it was fun, and at the end of the day, so long as they were alive, that was all that really mattered. It was suddenly that a villain appeared in their little storybook life. Well, she was less a villain and more a rival. Even though Kurose Kaede was a girl, she was just as daring as the boys, wild and free. She joined them in their storybook days, fooling around with them and playing the "villain" the courageous hero would try to best. Somehow, those storybook roles became reality, and the three's relationship grew complicated. Kaede the "villain" would chase after Masaki the "side character," Masaki the "side character" would follow Hisashi the "hero", and in turn, Hisashi the "hero" would chase after Kaeda the "villain." Their days of simple tomfoolery slowly came to an end and grew complex when this sort of triangle emerged, and as they entered higher levels of education, their carefree days became simply frustration and tensions they didn't know how to resolve. It was in the midst of these tensions that Masaki had to go overseas to London to attend a relatives' funeral, and with his absence, the other two simplemindedly tried to solve the group's awkward relationship themselves. They decided that playing Elder Tale would help make things more relaxed around them, and asked their friend in London to join the game with them. Because all three of them were new at the whole thing, none of them realized that different servers would mean they wouldn't be able to see each other. It was only a short while after they tried to start playing that the Catastrophe occurred, leaving Masaki trapped in a world where he didn't know anyone or how anything worked. With life as it was, the storybook adventure came to an end. Kaede, Hisashi, their problems, and everything else became things of the past, and Masaki was forced to start a new story, one where he was the "hero" of sorts. A projectile based skill that is enchanted onto an arrow and initiates an aura barrier on contact. The aura then proceeds to slow those who come within range, making targets feel as though their gear weighs heavier than it should. The barrier aura is broken when either the arrow is removed or the caster is damaged. Range of the aura has a radius of one meter from the arrow’s location, regardless of if the location is mobile. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 20 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Damage Interception: A barrier skill known as the signature move of the Shaman. Forms either a stationary barrier or a barrier around a target that continues to exist until the "energy" of the barrier expires. Energy will decrease slowly over time and decrease from damage taken. This skill has a casting time of 1.5 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Prayer of Recovery: A Shaman's unique healing magic skill, allowing for a small amount of healing with a short casting time and cooldown, although with a low base healing effect. When cast, bright blue magatama jewels surround the target and the sound of small bells can be heard. Is often called "Mini-heal" by many, and can be used as a form of encouragement to others. In the post-Catastrophe world, the sound of bells this skill makes are often interpreted as "greetings or prayers of a Shaman wishing for a safe return". This skill has a casting time of 1 second and a cooldown of 5 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Disassembly: Toggle skill. Mechanics have a certain affinity with taking apart machines, so monsters that are mechanical in nature had better watch out. Mechanics deal 20% more damage to Machine-type monsters. They can also cancel buffs on Machine-type monsters upon a successful hit. [attr="class","skill"]Checkpoint: When you're supposed to be delivering items all over the country, you need to be able to keep track of where your clients are supposed to be! This toggle skill scans the Courier's quest log and notifies them of each destination point or individual they need to meet with in order to complete the quest. This works as a tall pillar of light that can be seen from up to 100 meters away. Additionally, if the Courtier possesses a map of the list, these points are marked with a [QUEST] icon. Only the Courier is able to see these details. [attr="class","h3"]Equipment [attr="class","b2"] [attr="class","skill"]Armor: Starter Cloth Armor: A basic set of cloth armor made from cheap fabric.
