He is fit but not muscular, and it shows. With sharp looking light brown eyes and a mouth usually curled into a smirk, Strife is often seen with a condescending expression. He has short red hair that is constantly in a state of bedhead, but because it's so short he passes it off as his hair style. In real life he was never seen without a jacket, not even in the sweltering heat, but in the game he just wears unassuming armor, with a slight preference to things colored green or purple. He carries himself with an air of casual superiority, as if just by existing he is better than everyone else around him, moving at whatever pace suits him at the time, making no alterations for anyone he is traveling with. When on his own, he still keeps this posture, just in case. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"] Strife is a little insecure about his self worth, occasionally wondering if he is good enough, if people really like him for him, and if he ever actually contributes anything meaningful. This causes him to retreat into a shell of egocentric narcissism. He wants to make friends, but knows no other way than acting sympathetic towards his "inferiors". Strife likes to see himself as a defender of the weak, and will defend the weaker party during an argument between adventurers. If both sides are equally valid, he will enter and antagonize both. Such is true for any conflict between two sides that are inherently good. He will attempt to make himself the one they argue or fight against in order to get them to join forces, ending their conflict. Such a process does not always work, but it is a key part of his mindset. In regards to people of the land, he views them as no differently than adventures, except of course in the obvious differences, such as resurrection. He adores games of any kind, simple or complex, and despises those who cheat at them. To him, he is a piece in a giant board game, directed by some unseen player. He just doesn't know the rules of the game, the pieces he is supposed to be allied with, who the opposing pieces are, the exact details of the board, or who exactly is playing. But man, is it gonna be fun to find out. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"] Richard was raised in a middle class suburb by middle class parents, an architect and an accountant. He was bullied from an early age due to his timid nature, gradually destroying his self confidence and sense of self worth. He took to reading in the library between classes at school, and at home he would write his own fantasy stories. As he matured, his rough drafts took the form of a series of novellas he created, but never distributed. He was intrigued by fantasy worlds, and that was where he set his novellas, with cunning characters, plans, counter-plans, and plenty of world building. He eventually got into tabletop Role Playing Games, where he played with a group of fellow social recluses. He was the token Role-Player of the group, always doing the best to make his heroic characters a part of the story. He eventually moved on to the role of Game Master, crafting epic stories, and weaving majestic plots together, challenging the heroes every chance he got. His group gradually got him into multi-player video games and a few MMOs, but nothing major until he heard of Elder Tale. His fellow players weren't going to get the game until a few weeks after release, but Richard got it right away, and begun his journey in elder tale. [attr="class","skill"]Skill Name: Riot Shield Type- Shield The warden's shield expands via unfolding internal fins, with the increased coverage area of the shield to an area similar to a guardian's shield. It also grants a resistance to ranged attacks for a short time, allowing the user to advance under fire. [attr="class","skill"]Skill Name: Heavy Shield Springs Type- Modification Buff Your shield has some springs added behind the plating to it making you more resistant to detrimental effects such as dazing, stuns and knockbacks and increases defense against 2 handed and large weapons with a successful block [attr="class","skill"]Skill Name: Transcription: Scribes are known for their ability to copy and examine documents carefully. This allows them to obtain the Adventurer skill [Mythic Script] as a Beginner-level skill without it taking up a skill slot. Their knowledge also allows them to use and read grimoires in the Ancient Text, allowing them to use grimoires without penalties and perform some basic magic attacks depending on their Magic stat. If the character can already use grimoires through racial or class bonuses, grimoire damage increases by 10%. [attr="class","skill"]Skill Name: Negotiation: Passive skill. Using their powers of negotiation, an accountant is able to bargain prices in order to save their much-needed funds. An accountant pays 10% less Gold when renting guild halls, purchasing buildings, and hiring NPCs. This bonus extends to their guild, but Negotiation does not stack regardless of other Accountants in the guild. [attr="class","h3"]Equipment [attr="class","b2"] [attr="class","skill"]Armor: Starter Wardenscale: A basic set of Wardenscale made from cheap iron. They are not really too protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it. Warden Armor is required for a Warden to use any skills that involve their armor. [attr="class","skill"]Left Hand: Starter Buckler: A starter shield designed for novice adventurers, made out of cheap iron and wood. It is well-balanced and easy to use but doesn’t really feel too sturdy. It is small enough to serve as an all-around defensive off-hand equip. You probably should get this replaced as soon as you can. [attr="class","skill"]Right Hand: Starter Flail: A starter weapon designed for novice adventurers, made out of cheap iron and wood.
