[attr="class","ws"] [attr="class","h"]ELISE [attr="class","fc"] [attr="class","bi"]REAL NAME: Estellise Ramsey [attr="class","bi2"]REAL GENDER: Female [attr="class","bi2"]GENDER: Female [attr="class","bi2"]AGE: 22 [attr="class","bi2"]SEXUALITY: Bisexual [attr="class","bi2"]FACE-CLAIM: Zelda, The Legend of Zelda [attr="class","bi2"]PLAYED BY: Van [attr="class","bi2"]FACTION: Adventurer [attr="class","h2"]Appearance [attr="class","b"]Standing at an above average height of five feet and nine inches tall, Estellise only just misses the ten inch mark by a bit. She has an an average build and a shapely body, though her time spent in track teams and jogging has made her fit and given her slight muscle tone. She has a fair skin complexion that never seemed to tan much and was sunburned quite easily without the help of sunscreen. Her hair was raven black was straight, smooth and well kept and reached as far down as her lower back when not tied up. Her emerald green eyes stood out against her darker hair. A faded scar from a collision with a bicycle a few years before the Catastrophe ran up the back of her left forearm. In-game, Elise's appearance was largely similar with some very noticeable changes. As she had originally designed her character to reflect her real appearance, her avatar's height, weight, skin tone and build all remained strikingly similar to her real life appearance. However, while her hair was the same length and style as her real life counterpart it was changed to a bright golden blonde instead of raven black. Her eyes were an icy blue rather than a darker green and as a member of the Elf race, her ears were longer and pointed compared to her real life self. The scar that marred her left arm was not visible on her in-game form in the world of Elder Tale. Estellise's outfits in real life were often casual and comfortable to wear. Tighter fitting short sleeved shirts worn underneath a loose jacket with either a knee length skirt and stockings or a pair of jeans were her most common choices of outfit. She would most often wear a pair of boots and never really worried much about shoes. Darker colors were her preference to match her naturally dark hair and eyes; mostly dark blues, blacks and purples. Regardless of her outfit, she would always be seen wearing a beaded bracelet made of many different stones and a single sapphire; a gift from her mother before leaving home that she promised never to remove. After the Catastrophe, her choices in outfits did not change, though her color preferences changed to brighter colors such as white, light blues and shades of violet and pink to match her brighter hair and eyes. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"]At first glance, it's easy to see that Elise leans more towards an introverted nature. Her soft spoken words can be hard to hear in louder environments and she houses a small aversion to rowdier crowds. She enjoys her privacy and quieter settings, finding it easier to relax and recharge while alone. As such, she is often seen alone or with small groups of her friends. She isn't necessarily shy or anti-social though. She doesn't mind going out to hang out, have fun with friends or, now that she's in the world of Elder Tale, exploring and questing. She has no problem meeting introducing herself to new people, though she doesn't usually approach random strangers without reason. Getting to know her, it's difficult to misinterpret Elise's character. She is an affable and kind person; often described by her friends and coworkers as pleasant and easy to get along with. Both perceptive and insightful, the young woman tries to keep an open mind about most things and holds a strong sense of empathy and understanding for others, especially her friends and family. She is level-headed and calm, capable of keeping her wits about her during intense, stressful and even chaotic situations. However, a strong sense of curiosity and a bit of impulsiveness can sometimes override her better judgments and lead her to becoming reckless at times. On the other hand, her introversion can show in the form of impatience or grumpiness when she hasn't had time alone for a while or if she's really hungry. Deeper into her character, Elise can be seen as a free spirit. She strives to forge her own path in life, led by her own decisions and goals rather than the ideals or perspective of another. Otherwise, she believes that she could never be her own person. This can lead her to being extremely stubborn and rebellious at times and sometimes put her at odds with some authority figures or even friends if she feels that she's being too restricted. Her views of the world can sometimes be described as idealistic, if not peppered with cynicism here and there. She prefers to see the good in things before the bad and likes to see things work out for the better. Tight knit friendships and family are held in high regard and close to her heart. Trust and honesty between herself, her friends and her family is just as important to her, if not more. However, she also has a clashing sense of cynicism that gives her a sense of distrust towards those she does not know as well as the knowledge that not everyone in the world can get along due to conflicting beliefs. Her somewhat sobered views of the world has thinned her already narrow patience for people with haughty attitudes and she despises people who would use position or power to belittle or harm others. While her introversion tends to prevent her from speaking out against such people, she will still likely act much colder and hostile towards them. Friends and family have described her as unforgiving and sometimes vindictive towards people she holds grudges against, such as those who betray her trust or those that have the aforementioned attitude. She doesn't like pushy people and will more than likely take a disliking to them to some extent, even if they are friendly. To send her over the edge of anger would take a lot, but it certainly isn't impossible. Finally, it's obvious to see that Elise is fairly secretive about herself. The subject about her past life before the Apocalypse is a closely guarded secret. However, even though she will avoid or outright dismiss the subject, those who ask shouldn't have a problem seeing the tinge of regret and sadness dampen her mood when it comes up around her. She deeply regrets some of her past decisions before being trapped in Elder Tale and worries greatly for the family that she left behind. It wouldn't be out of the question to see her brooding or mourning over her loss when she believes she's alone or that no one can see her. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"] Elise, or Estellise as she was named by her parents, was born to a couple living in Italy. Her father was a doctor running his own clinic out of the lower level of his home in a small town on the outskirts of Florence. He was well respected both within the city and in the town's community for his work, though his busy schedule tended to keep him out until late at night. Her mother, originally from England, was a stay-at-home mother who dedicated much of her time to watching her children and taking care of their home and sometimes helping out in their clinic. She wasn't well known amongst the community but had several good friends amongst her husband's patients. Estellise was the only child for four years before her younger sister was born. From an early age, Estellise was taught by her parents that family and friends were to be treasured. She would only ever have one blood family and each friend was something to hold onto and treat dearly. Her family reflected this ideology well, frequently visiting and supporting each other in nearly every endeavor. She got along well with her older cousins, who were both avid gamers. During their frequent visits, she would often watch the two of them play various games. Though her cousins never allowed her to play while they were playing, just watching them was enough to fascinate the young girl. This early exposure to games would eventually lead her to becoming an avid gamer herself, though since she owned nothing but a PC, she mainly played one or two games that her cousins had gifted her as well as the preinstalled games. Growing up, Estellise did not see much of her father. His busy schedule kept him running around town and occasionally making trips to the city that would take anywhere between a few hours to a week at a time. She did not have a poor relationship with her parent though. He was kind and caring to both of his children and would spend much of his free time entertaining them. Occasionally, he would take his children into the city on his trips. During the summer months, her father would take a few weeks off of work so that they could visit her mother's family in London. When Estellise entered school, her mother began to teach her how to speak English. These lessons sometimes conflicted with her lessons at school, which were clearly teacher her Italian, but patience from both her mother and her teachers eased the young child into learning both languages easier. Her lessons at home, along with her normal school work and her time spent playing with her sister and friends, would often take up the entirety of her day. Yet, she always somehow found time to play some games after everything was finished for the day. Much of Estellise's childhood and early teenage years passed uneventfully this way. Over time, she had acquired new consoles and a small library of games for them as well as the PC. However, at around fourteen years old and a few months before she was supposed to enter high school, her father suddenly announced that they would be moving to England. More specifically, they would be moving to the outskirts of Oxford, where her father planned to open a new clinic. When she asked why they were suddenly moving, her parents simply told her that she didn't need to worry about it and that everything was alright. Despite their reassurances though, the young teen could tell that something was amiss. Within a month, Estellise found herself looking out of her new bedroom's window, staring an an unfamiliar city in the distance. Despite her annual visits to the area around Oxford, it all still seemed extraordinarily foreign and daunting to her. An entirely new country and customs, but more importantly, a new school and home town. At the very least, she found herself fortunate that she was proficient in the English language, albeit with a bit of an accent. Her being bilingual proved to be a great boon in the coming months as it helped her settle into her new home much easier. With friendly locals willing to help her learn about her new home and reassurances from her family, it did not take long for her to adjust to her new life. Estellise made a handful of friends shortly after beginning her new school life. These friends, also gamers, introduced her to a few games that she had previously dismissed. One was a party fighting game and a mash-up of a collection of popular characters. Though she enjoyed the game greatly, she found herself drawn more to a game that another friend had introduced her to. This other game, a MMO game named Elder Tale, focused more on the expansive open-world setting that she enjoyed so much more. Plenty of other players to interact with was just a bonus to her. This new game drew her in much more than other games and the young student found herself enjoying the MMO genre almost as much as she enjoyed her open world sandbox games. Much of Estellise's time gaming in high school was spent getting into various different titles. While she flitted between shooters and fighting games as well as a short foray into racing games, she always returned to her favored JRPG, open world and MMO games. As time passed though, her time to spend on video games dwindled. A job as a barista at a coffee shop within the city, time spent helping at her father's clinic, hanging out with her friends from school and nights doing homework left only an hour or so a day, if even that much. Eventually, the gamer's attention left Elder Tale for more single player minded games that agreed with her tight schedule more. A few months after she had graduated from high school, around eighteen years old, she was promoted to manager at the coffee shop, which of course came with more hours as well. Much to her parent's chagrin, the young woman refused to go to college. Spending thousands of pounds to learn from professors things that she could teach herself with no guarantee for a job at the end was not worth the investment. Instead, she designated her time towards work and free online programming courses, where she began teaching herself basic programming. Her refusal to go to college was the beginning of some of the tensions that would cause a rift between her and her parents. After their high school years, Estellise and her group of friends remained a tight knit group and grew even closer. Despite less time to spend together, they would still find time to hang out at her place of work or get together to play party based games. Four of them in particular grew to be some of the closest friends that Estellise had prior to the Apocalypse, becoming as close to her as family. In time, it wasn't uncommon to hear them refer to each other as brothers and sisters. A trio of years after graduating high school, Estellise had become a more learned programmer and technician. She made extra income taking small and basic jobs for schools and small businesses. Still an avid gamer with a little more free time, she had begun to have thoughts of getting back into Elder Tale again, which she thought back on every so often. Unfortunately, the truth of their sudden move to England came to light around this time as well. A sudden visit was from her two aunts. At first, she was happy to see them again since they had not met since their move. However, it was easy to see that her parents and her aunts were not happy to see each other. A thick tension filled their home for the following week as her elders talked privately for hours on end. Neither side ever looked happy afterward. Eavesdropping on one of the conversations, Estellise learned that there had been an argument within the family several years ago that ended with her grandfather disowning her father. Her aunts were visiting to discuss their father's decreasing health due to age and his wish to see his son again, despite what had happened. The week ended with a shouting match where her father, who had refused to return to Italy, was accused of abandoning her grandfather. Her two aunts bluntly told the young woman that she and her parents were no family to them before storming from their home, never to be seen by her again. The eldest daughter of the family was conflicted upon hearing the full story. She saw rights and wrongs on both sides. Yet, she saw her father's refusal to see her grandfather despite what had happened as a betrayal of the things they had so insistently taught her growing up. Even though she could understand his resentment towards being disowned, she firmly believed that he should have gone regardless. After all, family was to be treasured, right? When she asked for an explanation as to why he chose not to go, her father told her that he did not consider anyone but the people living in his house as family anymore and that he wouldn't “crawl back” to the man he once called father. His answer angered his daughter and an argument broke out between the two. She called him a hypocrite, prideful and challenged his morals for leaving his father to die unhappy while her father saw her confrontation as turning against him and defended his decision. Neither side would budge and a tension would fill their home afterward. Even smaller problems threatened to escalate into arguments between them. A distance formed between Estellise and her father as the former became more conflicted on how to treat the situation. She loved her father dearly, but she did not like to see him so vengeful towards his own parent and could not agree with his decision to burn the bridges between their entire family. The tension in their home remained heavy for a few months until Estellise informed her parents that she was moving out within the week. She explained that she was leaving to live with friends within the city, where they planned to start a business under the coaching and training of one of their friend's father. Despite their trepidation, both her mother and father conceded rather easily to the idea and informed her that she had their full support. Within the next weeks, the raven haired woman was settling into her new home, a small house owned by her and the four other friends that she considered her family beyond her blood. While she continued her job as a manager and had begun her training in business, without needing to look after her father's clinic, Estellise suddenly found herself with much more free time. She suggested to her friends that they play Elder Tale, which was receiving a new server in England. They agreed and all five of them had soon purchased the game and all of the expansions. The next few months did little to ease the conflicting feelings regarding her parents. Her friends' comforting words, her training and her work helped keep her mind occupied and happy, though she still found herself thinking about it from time to time. Eventually, news of her grandfather's passing and her father's grieving reached her ears. She was told that her parents and her sister were going to the funeral in Italy to mourn and apologize to the rest of the family. Their eldest daughter was invited to come along. Eager to see the relations of her family repaired, the young business woman-in-training agreed. Unfortunately, the day before she was set to leave was the day that the new server for England was released. All packed and ready to go, Estellise decided to log into the new server to create her character and get a head start to compensate for the time that she would not be able to play. After creating her character though, Estellise suddenly found herself staring at unfamiliar scenery. What was once her room was suddenly a large city with many strangely dressed people appearing around her out of nowhere. Her confusion lasted for only a few minutes before she laid eyes on a tall tower like structure. She recognized the building from preview images on the Elder Tale site and quickly realized that she had, quite literally, been immersed and absorbed into the game. Dual wielding has its merits in granting the swashbuckler with an opportunity to apply two different effects to the opponent upon a successful hit, while fighting with the Fencing Style sacrifices this versatility for a greater form of fighting stability. [attr="class","skill"]Viper Raise: An attack that targets the arm tendons. A successful hit will result in gradual damage over time due to a bleeding effect, which is accommodated by the wound area seeping out a constant trail of blood. Despite the move's somewhat gory animation, this bleeding effect is fairly minor and scales in a manner similarly to a poison effect. Also, for the next 10 seconds, the target's attack speed will be decreased by 10% due to the pain associated with moving the arms. This skill has a 2 second animation time and a 9 second cooldown. [attr="class","skill"]Discard: A technique designed to reduce aggro for the swashbuckler. As soon as the opponent draws near, the swashbuckler performs a somersault over the target's head, then uses the blunt end of the blade to spin the opponent sideways. This sudden disorientation disrupts a monster's thought process, often resulting in its battle AI resetting. This skill has an animation time of 1.5 seconds and a cooldown of 15 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Toxicity Tolerance: Pharmacists have developed a certain resistance around drugs. This skill can be toggled to make a pharmacist immune to status debuffs caused by potions. Additionally, they passively recover twice as fast from poison status effects. [attr="class","skill"]Concoction: Using their knowledge of herbs and natural remedies, the apothecary is able to treat others. The load time for this skill is ten seconds, and the target's HP is restored by 10%. Any physical status effects will also be cured. Due to a risk of possible toxicity effects, Concoction cannot be used on the same target more than once per thread.
