[crafting, solo] Dangerous wheels

“BOOOOOORIIIIIIING!” sight Bailin as he sat on the floor amidst the piles of, well lets face it, junk of bits and bobs for mechanical things, inventions or just spare parts collecting dust. Bailin had been sitting here for at least ten minutes, hoping to get inspiration to do something, but alas, he drew the so called blank, coming no further than sitting down and scrolling the known recipe-list. By now he must have went through it at least three times more or less serious, though now he was sitting there, randomly scrolling up and down the list, up and down, down and up, up is down.


After going up and down he finger accidentally slipped and opened the Small wheels recipe, linking to the skateboard and rollerblades. ‘I already have rollerblades... so why not a skateboard? Could be fun, could be wasting my time but I guess it’s better than sitting around doing… well… nothing really, just wasting time and space.'


Inspecting the recipe Bailin started rummaging through the piles of junk and parts, on the hunt for a gear and a screw. Eventually he found what he needed, hidden away in one of the many piles of junk and parts.


Taking the parts to the workbench he started tinkering with it and tinkering with it and tinkering some more with it, until he had produced the desired product, a set of four small wheels, wheels that one could place under a certain board. The wheels weren’t of superb quality but they weren’t that bad either or at least, that was what Bailin hoped as he eyed the set of wheels.

Next up was the board, which was supposedly easy enough to create, just a random plank, screw the wheels under it and be done with it. However, simple as it sounded, it never was nor would be, bar that one, single, once in a lifetime situation. Rummaging through the waste he had produced in his garden he found a dried bit of wood, at the perfect length. Annoyed by the rough edges and other unwanted extensions Bailin placed the board on his workbench.


Taking out his M.U.T, selecting the saw bit, he started sawing the board to the wanted shape, a nice, simple, straight plate, creating small amounts of sawdust and rough wooden chips. Had he been a woodworker, Bailin could probably have made lots of nice patterns or less rough wooden objects, but alas, as he was a Warden his expertise was at building fortifications and digging holes in the ground, unless boars would interrupt him during the process. Snapping back to the task at hand Bailin took out the small wheels he had made earlier, as well as the screws he thought he would need to attach said wheels to the board. Bailin tinkered away using some spare would he had just sawed off, using the screws to attach both those and the wheels to the board, doing the process twice, once for the front end and once for the tail end.


After having attached all four wheels at their place Bailin gave all four of them a smack, to see if they would turn round and round. When they did he placed the board on the floor, gently sliding it back and forth, adding more and more weight until he stood upon it with his full weight. It held and thus a skateboard was born.
