Slowly I walk outside of the city. Walking through it I see many things. I see players lost and confused. They behave the same way I was looking around the first moment I appeared there. I walk out of the city slowly. They experience the same thing... They probably have people they want return to in real world... Anyways I need to get outside and get a hang of this world before it will be full of people... I think to myself as I walk through the city. As I continue to walk I notice more strange things. People of Land. That's the term used to describe the Non-Player Characters in Elder Tales. Or it was... It seems that they're behaving more... Alive... I think as I observe them. People of Land have large range of professions including aristocrats, shopkeepers, and farmers. In a way they seem to be alive more than adventurers are... I think as I look how they behave when adventurers aproach them.
I reach the city outskirts and walk outside. The large trees of Windsor Greatwood soon surround me and the peacfull atmosphere there relaxes my mind a bit. I take a deep breath looking around to see the common monster which reside theese forests. Boars... Slimes... Snakes... Well... Time to get going... I think as I walk off the road. "Hiding Entry" I whisper silently and crouch to cast the skill. Hiding Entry. One of the basic stealth magics of Assassin. It helps to hide in plain sight, bending the light around me and it makes me practically invisible for extended period of time. Untill I will do something of course. I also activate the Silent move from my tracker subclass. That is preventing me from making any sound while walking. Just my speed was reduced to 50%. With this I'm completely hidden now. I sneak through the fores and spot a boar. I get behind it slowly and draw one katana holding it in my right hand.
I hold my Katana silently focusing on the Boar before me. Then I swing my weapon and pierce the Boar easily. It squirms around as the blade pierces through it, ripping it around as my Hiding Entry fades. "Fatal Ambush" I whisper as the large damage is dealt to the boar. In one single strike the Boar is dead leaving money and item drops behind. Fatal Ambush. My second Assassin skill. It deals a critical damage which kills most of the targets in single strike. However it requires long preparation and it leaves me weak. That's why I hidden myself. Anyways it is a usefull skill to start with. I take the drop and stand up looking around. "This will be a long day..." I mumble to myself.

From the place where I killed the boar I continue to sneak through the forest. After a while I see whole group of boars. "Death Stinger" I say as I grip my weapon tightly. The skill I just used coated my blade in poison, the classic tool of assassins. Carefully I draw my weapon. Anyone struck by the blade can be poisoned anytime. I could poison even myself if I would be not enough carefull. In five seconds the weapon is ready and I see the buf near silent move. I smile and say "Hiding Entry" as I disappear again. With my first strike I will kill first boar. With my skill I should be able to kill other two boars easily then. I think as I advance. Behind the first boar I prepare the technique again. I slice the boar with my blade again and whisper. "Fatal Ambush..." The boar turns into loot while the other two boars dash towards me. Fatal Ambush is on cooldown now. I'm without skills now. And it's partially useles in theese situations anyways. I look on them carefully and prepare my second katana too. I jump to side scratching both boars with my weapons. Got you now... I grinn when I see that the poison was succesfully slowli chiping their health away.
However I didn't have enough time to celibrate. They charged me again. I dodged the first one attacking the second with both my weapons dealing serious damage. The boar squels and runs towards me again. I check its status quickly. [Young Pittered Boar] Level 3. That explains why it's so tough. However it won't stand my next strike. I think to myself as I check it's HP bas which is on 42%. I reverse grab my weapon and jumps towards it striking it's side. It's killed right away disappearing leaving money behind. I turn towards the third one. [Young Pittered Boar] Level 2... Nearly killed by poison and my strike before it. No problem with that one... I think as I check it. By two quick strikes I finish it and stand straight. "Alright that should be i... gah?" I gasp suprised.
Something hits me from behind. Another one?! I think as I turn around and see the boar. I give a quick glance to my own hp. It didn't strike me so hard and thanks to my chainmail armor it's even less damage than I expected. Heatsink skill. Thanks to my crafting class - Blacksmith I can wear chain armor without penalties. I grinn and strike the boar twice quickly leaving two large scratches on its snout. The boar is angry now. I jump to side durng it's next strike. Wait... I think as I check its status. [Pittered Boar] Level 7. 60% of HP after I hit it and poisoned it. Oh Damn... This one is full grown... I see it is preparing to charge me again. I dodge the next attack and prepare counting inside my head preparing to use Fatal Ambush again. 1... 2... 3... It turned around as I'm counting inside my head. 4... 5... It's right before me. I dash forward and strike it with my right blade. "Fatal Ambush." The boar dies quickly. I check the loot and strech a little. "That was close one..." I mumble to myself as I look around to find the next target.

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________ The right back to Londiminium was a swift one, it had been two days since she had set off on her journey from the Drowsy Drifter Inn in the Thames Coastline. She had just finished a rather strenuous training project with a diligent assassin and a prodigical cleric while storming an abandoned pirate ship that was full of wreckage, debris, and a legion of <<Pirate Skeleton>>. Though it was all of the others first time in a combat scenario, Saskia was thrilled with their performance and especially grateful to the cleric for her unwavering supportive healing spells in the heat of battle. Saskia beamed with delight as she rode, Icarus, her warhorse whom was thundering out in the woods. He was a colt of remarkable speed and grandeur as he gallantly raced through the forest. His heavy hooves kicked back bits of dirt and debris as garden snakes hissed after him once they both came into range and tried to chase the duo down one their slithering bellies. However, the emerald serpents would not be able to keep up with the warmaiden and her magnificent white stallion, not this day.
Saskia had been training the wild worse ever since she discovered it when she first arrived in this world. Being fond of horses and owning several to ride through the fields of her home in Gloucestorshire back in the real world, she adored her lifetime companion and traveling partner. Saskia dipped her head down as they approached a dirt path where the soil hardened underneath Icarus’ heavy hooves. They had reach a clearing which led to a narrow pathway where they could pick up speed in an insane velocity. The wind began to whip Saskia’s pink rose petal strands of hair back as her penetrating sapphire gems squinted at something of into the distance.
It was a black figure swinging a blade towards a pittered boar. It seemed that they were playing the game solo. She was in the forest hacking at enemy targets and testing out her skills. Saskia decided to approach her to check on her well-being as she noticed the girl target another member of the piggly wiggly family. Saskia gave her a brief nod of affirmation as her eyes got glance of her receiving a vicious strike from behind.
Reactively, Saskia had noticed it’s level was much higher than the girls and instinctively advanced towards her position. As the lone assassin slashed the matured boar to bits using a deadly skill that dished out a heavy dose of damage per second, Saskia raised a pink flourescent brow that curved into a single arch upon her forehead. Her timing was impeccable, and with a stroke of luck she was finally able to fell the beast on her own. She was a little wary about the situation as the girl whispered, “That was a close one”.
Saskia gripped tight her reigns as she yielded Icarus to a stop. Saskia sat perched atop her horse, and had her steel shield strapped tightly to her back, she wore heavy platemail armor and had a steel sword that protruded out of a blue scabbard that had golden lacing embroidered around the edges.
She was a higher level player herself, but she always loved helping out the newer players in the city. Having trained many of the newcomers in her guild, Vylbrand Academy, she was always excited to see new talent perform in the fields of battle.
“Wow, that was pretty impressive. I’ve always been intrigued by the raw damage Assassins possess. I’ve worked with quite a few of them in my time. I see you’re traveling alone, do you need a tank by any chance? We could round up some nice gold and experience points while we’re both out here. And no worries, I can scale my level down quite a bit so you can get a pretty nice amount of EXP.” Saskia offered with a genuinely graceful smile. “My name’s Saskia Steelheart by the way.”

I hear someone approach from behind again. However I didn't sense the danger like from the boar before. Listening to the steps of the aproaching player I try to analyse the situation. It's a rider in heavy armor... I thought as I heared the horse and rattle of her armor. It's probably a guardian... And since that person can controll a horse it's probably higher level player than me. After I finish the boar and stand straight and I look on the player clearly. It was a young woman in heavy plate armor with a sword and greatshield. It's a guardian for sure. I think as I eye her up and down confirming my early thought. I keep standing like that for a while light breeze playing with my long black hair. I raise my hand and slide it near the scar on my face as I eye you up and down again.
"Thanks. However I'm not worthy of praise. I didn't notice the aproaching enemy before." I say with my calm voice when she starts praising me and my class. Is it unussual to slay a monster with higher level? I think about it quickly as she continues with her offer. Hmm... It could be usefull... I need to learn more about other classes if I want to survive there and it could help me level up quickly. I finish my thought while looking on her before saying my answer. "However I wouldn't mind if you joined me for a while. I guess it would be quicker than going around alone." I look on your smile and return my weapons to their sheats. "Nice to meet you Steelheart-dono. My name is Awatsuki Shizuri." I introduce myself and bow lightly before standing straight again. I raise my right hand, covered in the gray bandages instead of a gauntlet, to get to the menu and invite you to my party. "I will be glad to accept your help. I will make sure to repay you the favor in the future." I say simply as I do so.
After you accept I turn around and check our surroundings, adjusting the chainmail armor under the japanese style vest. "I think that there should be another group of boars not far from there. I will advance beforehand to check them and tell you precise numbers through the voice chat Steelheart-dono. Feel free to prepare for the battle." I walk towards the place I was speaking about starting to sneak as I make few steps using [Silent Move] skill from my tracker subclass. After a step I whisper another two words to hide my presence even more. "Hiding Entry" I whisper and use my skill disappearing from your sight as the light bends around me becoming invisible for your eyes.
I sneak through the forest without sound despite wearing chainmail armor. Slowly I get towards the location of the group of boars and when I spot them I start whispering in the voice chat. "There are five boars. Three of them are the young ones... Levels one, two and four. The older ones are on the levels seven and eight. I think that they won't be a problem Steelheart-dono." I report as I prepare my weapons. "I will wait for you to taunt them. Then I will attack them with suprise taking care of the highest level boar with the skill you saw before." I sneak into the best position not far from the boars.

Post by Pen Ddraig on Dec 30, 2014 17:23:13 GMT
A long strenuous yawn escaped Pen's mouth as she tightened the leather straps of her plate mail armor. The weight was comforting and brought a sense of relief, however strange some people thought that was. The fingers on her left hand deftly clasped the straps in place on her right side before reciprocating on the left. Pen wrapped her thumbs on the inside of the edge of her breast plate and tugged. " Perfect fit." She thought aloud before she stepped over to her large great shield and hefted it onto her back, the hilt and pommel of her long sword peered over her right shoulder. The pommel was a simple piece of metal with obvious signs of heavy use, deep scratches and a dent covered the counterweight. Her great shield was also of simple construction and was in a similar condition; around the edge of the shield were noticeable bits of metal missing, evidence of heavy blows from bladed weaponry. Just off center and along the bottom right of the thick metal sheet of life preservation were dents and small puncture marks from arrows and tusks from higher leveled <<Pittered Boars>>. Pen gave herself one final look over in the mirror of the abandoned school's changing room in Londonium. She stared at the battle scars her plate mail had acquired since she began the game. Her level was now a few over the suggested level for replacement but Pen was a sentimental sort of girl when it came to arms and armor. Her friend Dion had once made fun of her for her love of armor and her sword training. She didn't pay him any mind though, pocking fun was how they showed affection. At the thought of the memory, a melancholy expression spread across her face. " Oi, hey. No. Stop that." She ordered herself with a soft smack to her cheeks. " I got to meet Pinky in an hour or so, so no time to dawdle." A muffled clap of leather fist against leather palm echoed in the empty locker room. " Then when I get back I can get some new gear." She said, with a small twinge of guilt pressing into her side. Perhaps she was too sentimental about her arms and armor... It took nearly an hour for the wolf hair guardian to reach the Windsor Greatwood. The wooden sky scrapers stood far over head, providing pleasant relief from the bright beams of the sun. The foliage of the great trees splintered the sun's beams into spears of light that made Pen think of a disco ball made of plant life. She shook her head, the imagery seemingly ridiculous to her. After ten minutes within the dense forest the guardian heard distance sounds reminiscent of battle; the deep squeal of a <<Pittered Boar>> with the high pitched <<Young Pittered Boar>>. The squeals were suddenly go giving way to the near silence she had become accustomed to. Save for the rustling of leaves in the branches, the occasional bird chirping, and the creaking of the limbs, Pen heard nothing. With a yawn Pen swiped her hand vertically in the air, summoning her status screen. The large guardian emblem hovered before her but with a few movements Pen selected Saskia's name in her friends list and sent a telepathic call. After a few rings she got no answer. " Huh..." she breathed and attempted to send a party invite, hoping they were close enough in distance to accept. When her attempt was denied a small text box appeared explaining that the adventurer she was trying to party with was currently in a party. " What? That son of a...- er.. daughter of a... screw it." She sighed, her want to swear lost as she had to correct herself. She thought of how she could reach the pink haired cavalier; a few moment of nothing went by till the sound of a metal armor that wasn't her own caught her ear. She listened intently, ceasing her own moving to increase her effectiveness. It took a minute before she heard it again and picked the general direction of the sound. " It may not be her, but it's better than doing nothing." He mumbled aloud as she pressed her legs forward into a jog. _________________________________ Word count: 710 Tags: Awatsuki, SaskiaNotes: Hope you like walls of metal! Welcome to the fun-vee, Awa.

Post by Bailin on Dec 30, 2014 19:31:43 GMT
Taking one of those almost famous strolls along the country side where almost everything would probably go horribly wrong and yet end very, very well. It had happened about two or three times before. The first time he had found an annoying boar set on snuffing out the candle, more commonly known as Bailin’s life. The second time he met a rather violent druid who had a taste for slaughter, rather than being a tree hugging hippie as most druids were supposed to be, friendly until you crushed their special flower or cut down a tree. The third time was when he had found his girlfriend in a party of level one’s, only to be assaulted from behind with feminine body parts in his neck. Now however he was on the hunt, looking for either a boar, as he still needed his vengeance on the boar population in general. With his was his trusty scoped musket and on quick swap was his trusty rapier. Walking through the country side Bailin found something other than boars, but still useful. It was a big tree, sturdy and not looking in such a bad shape that it would not be able to withstand the ensuing punishment. Taking out his rapier Bailin used the tip of the blade to carve a targeting mark on the bark of the tree. A smaller circle in the middle, two larger ones about ten centimetres from each other, creating a target about thirty centimetres large. Counting his steps back until he hit the fifty meter mark Bailin swapped his rapier for his musket and dropped to his knee, his right knee on the ground, his left up, left foot under his knee, whilst his right lay on the ground. His left hand was on the wood of the barrel, whilst his right hand was at the trigger, index finger ready to squeeze the trigger as he peered through the scope, aiming with his right eye at the middle of the target. When he was happy about the alignment he gently squeezed the trigger, the musket letting out a loud bang as it hurled a small lead ball towards the target, striking the middle ring as it crashed into it, sending wooden splinters everywhere. ‘Right, bite, spit pour, drop, ram, pour, cock, aim, shoot.’ He thought to himself as he reloaded the musket, readying it for the next shot. Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________ A small gust of wind snakes through the forest as it blows back her pinkette cherry blossom coated hair back, knocking strands loose over her face. She raises her iron gauntlets up and uses clothed fingers to slide the loose strands back neatly into place. She shifts upon the horse, embracing the weight of her cumbersome gear. The metal gleams brightly in the sunlight as she exudes a radiant smile. She smirks confidently as the young fox tail sizes her up for a moment. Her hair was as black as night, her ebony strands flowing like long illustrious guitar strings.
Saskia smiled sweetly as the woman thanked her for her compliment, yet humbly removed herself from the spotlight of being seen as talented or extravagant in anyway.
“Very modest I see...that’s a very nice way to be. After all, something I always share with my students at the academy, that is to always be like a sponge and absorb everything. None of us knows everything, and humility definitely goes a long way in the learning process.” Saskia stated with a nod of appreciation towards the young fox tail. She didn’t seem to be an isolationist, as she welcomed the idea of Saskia joining her party. It seemed that she was more focused on making quick progress through the levels than anything else.
“Ah, yes, it shouldn’t take very long after all, maybe if we find a bigger group we can try a few of the tougher mobs around these lands. Do try to be careful for snakes...as they can be quite sneaky with their camoflouge...one never knows behind what rock or tree they lie...” Saskia warned as she tapped her sword against her shoulder, scanning the area of the forest.
The woman introduced herself, and Saskia noticed something rather peculiar about her instantly. She was most likely Japanese in real life, which earned her instant brownie points. Saskia was always a long term fan of Japanese culture and traditions, and this was a chance for her to give it a fair shot at meeting one.
“It is an honor Shizuri-chan!” Saskia said, remembering to use the last name with Japanese honorifics, bowed her head lightly in a respectful manner. “So, I take it that you’re possibly from Japan? One of my guild mates and I actually loved the trips out there. Tokyo...Okinawa..all such fun places. Though the Tsunami’s are pretty crazy in Okinawa...”
“So, what exactly are we hunting?” Saskia inquired as she walked closer and began navigating through her menu to accept the party invite.
After Awatsuki informed her of the levels and presence of the enemy, Saskia scaled herself down to level 5. A reasonable level for tanking the big brutes without a designated healer.
“Alright then, let’s give it our best shot. We’ll start with clearing the little ones and make our way to the big ol’ fat ones...”
Saskia winked at Awatsuki shortly before giving her a thumbs up with her shield arm and she dashed towards the field like a wild Valkyrie, she decided to focus her energy on the level 4 mob and vexed it towards her.
“I smell bacon!” Saskia shouted while employing her [Taunting Shout] ability which made the boar squeal in a violent fury and come stampeding after her. She would lead it safely away from the level 1 and level 2 pig.
“Alright, I’ll deal with this guy if you want to put a little extra seasoning on the pork chops over there!”
Saskia was prepared to block the incoming attack, but a sudden loud crack of gunfire distracted her and the boar bashed his face into her ankle.
“What in bloody hell!?!” Saskia shouted as she glanced of into the direction of the shot with a scowl. Squinting of into the distance she saw a man with a rifle. A player killer perhaps.
“Crap, hey Shizuri-chan, be on your guard...we got a man with a rifle off in the distance...” Saskia muttered towards Awatsuki through telepathy while simultaneously swinging at the pig that bashed her leg.

I nod when she asks me about my heritage. "Yes. I'm from Japan. You're very observant Steelheart-dono. I was born in a town... Or vilage... named Shirakawagou. I also thank for warning me about the snakes." I say to confirm it. She's kind. I guess she is experienced in party fights. I think to myself meanwhile. "I spoted two snakes, but they're quite far away so I recommend to deal with the boars first." I look on her status through the party options. She scaled down herself to level five... That's a good choise since some of theese can hit realy hard. I think as I observe the boars. I hear a rustle from behind from the city somwhere. Heavy... Plate armor... Probably another guardian... I think quickly. "Steelheart-dono. I heard a heavy meelee fighter aproach our position from the other side. Stay cautious please." I inform her via telepathy voice-chat. I sneak towards her slowly preparing one of my two blades in my hand to deliver a precise and deadly blow. I sneak closer to deal with other one which is further away from the group and then I hear it. Gunfire. Probably an old-type musket. Theese make a realy anoying sound...
I analyse the situation quickly and move closer. The boar attacks my ally and I turn rather to it. I concentrate and then use my skill to finish the boar which hurt her lightly. "Fatal Ambush" I whisper and kill it quickly. "Continue to attack those boars please. I will observe the rifleman." I inform her shortly befor using [Hiding Entry] and [Silent Move] to hide myself again and aproach the location of the rifleman. "Be cautious about the other person which was around too Steelheart-dono." I say quickly before aproaching the location of the man. I observe what he was doing. "It seems that the man was only training. He uses a scoped musket and a rapier. Tall, black hair and long black coat." I observe him as he is loading the rifle again. "I will aproach him carefully. And find out more as soon as possible Steelhearth-dono." I lower my blade and wait whispering "Death Stinger" to coat my weapon in a poison. Then I sneak closer hidden by my own ability to move silently, my class skills and subclass skills. As I get behind him I observe his equipment more. His aim was good and he was able to hit the target without problems. I wait for him to start loading the rifle for him again. Then after his next shot I move closer and lie one blade on his neck lightly. "I suggest to stop moving and answer my questions." I say with a low calm voice preparing myself to strike if he moved concentrating to strike at anytime, holding my second weapon lowered to prepare for unexpected things. "Who are you and what are you doing there?" I continue in a low voice still keeping the blade there without even a little movement. The distance between Pen and the origin of the metal sound seemed to be much farther than originally thought. She had been jogging for a few minutes now and she had come across no one. Pen Ddraig did have to marvel at the level of her cardiovascular endurance, as running with heavy armor is no small feet. Perhaps her heightened endurance level was due to her constantly wearing the heavily weighted suit of metal. She felt a wave of appreciation for her sentimentality toward her armor now, for had she lacked that sentimentalist thought process then she would have no doubt been winded by now. The wolf hair slowed her advance and let her heart rate slow, just because she could keep going at her speed didn't mean that she should. There were many things that could go wrong in an instant when running through the woods, even more so with heavy armor on. Had she thought about it earlier she might not have gone jogging off as she had. As the guardian slowed, a sudden ear splitting sound erupted off to the side from her current location, much closer than she felt comfortable with. In the moment the sound rang out through the trees, Pen had shrugged her shield from her back and slid it into place on her left arm, ripping her blade free from its scabbard. Her emerald eyes shifted to a bright yellow, almost like the shine of gold. The red hair on her head appeared to take on a more shaggy look, growing an inch in length, with a pair of red canine-like ears coming into view atop of her dome. She could feel the muscles in her body flex, pressing them against the cool touch of her plate mail. Her body moved quickly and efficiently toward the origin of the thunderous blast. As Pen rounded the thick base of the large tree her bright yellow eyes landed on a female, small in stature and clad in chain mail starter armor and brandishing a katana. The guardian's point of view was pretty limited at this moment and time as she stared at the young woman with her blade at the throat of an armor clad youth with a black patch over his left eye. He had a musket in his grip, the ramrod was still in his hand making it hard to tell whether or not he was currently reloading or had just finished. " What's going on?" Pen inquired sternly, her eyes taking a swift survey of the area, including the target on the tree she had come from behind. " I'm sure whatever it is we can handle it without me dropping you." There was no hint of doubt to her words as she spoke. Her body was relaxed but ready to move at the word go. He time training in both the real world and since the Catastrophe had instilled absolute faith in her ability. It was difficult to place the female's class without opening her status screen; the dark haired woman wore chain main and sported dual katana, though only one was in her hand...possibly a samurai. Wait...there's a strange gleam on her blade...she could be an assassin with blacksmithing? I can't go about underestimating her, whatever her class. She thought lowering her blade some. "How about we start by lowering our weapon from the practicing marksman?"

Whilst he was reloading his musket, ramming the bullet in the barrel with the ramrod, Bailin suddenly felt a light tap near his neck. Before he could turn about and check the origin of the tap, it spoke out, suggesting he stopped moving and answer some questions. The entire list of questions consisted of who he was and what he was doing here. Both questions appeared to him as being rather simple to find out if not obvious at all.
Before he could answer a female voice rang out, inquiring what was going on, though making no attempt to forcefully remove the little knife from Bailin’s neck, for which he was grateful as he did enjoy keeping his head attached to his neck for a while longer.
Next the female voice suggested that things could be handled without her dropping whoever was keeping the blade in his neck. Finally the voice suggested if the blades-person couldn’t remove the weapon from him, just for starters. ‘Well that took long enough.’ Bailin thought to himself, barely able to contain his thoughts any further. ‘I reckon de-escalation would be most prudent however, I prefer to not remain in this rather annoying position for much longer. ‘ he thought, slightly annoyed.
“Alright I’m slowly going to stand up before both my legs fall asleep, I will keep my hands up.” He stated as he slowly raised his hands until the point they were on level with his head, his right hand still holding the half loaded musket. ‘At least I should at least be able to use the musket as a shield or club before I can switch to my rapier if need be.’ he thought, hoping it wouldn’t come that far.
“Well now, my charming assailant, please put away the knife, you might hurt yourself with it. Secondly I’m Bailin and if you haven’t figured out what I’m doing here, I must admit, you are a tad daft and you should definably not be brandishing weapons about. As you can see, before you so rudely interrupted me, I was practicing my marksmanship. As you perhaps know or not know, muskets are renowned for their lack of accuracy. This is due to their smoothbore barrel, in contrary to the riffle, which had, as you can probably guess, a riffled barrel, increasing its accuracy and thus its range. But I digress, I have spoken and now it appears to me that it is your turn to return the courtesy. As for you, my saving angel, you have my thanks and perhaps you would grace me also with your name.” smiling at the armour clad women he now could see. “Also, I think you’d like my girlfriend, she’s is also a guardian, if I might be so presumptuous to assume you are one.”

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________ Saskia smiled warmly taking note of the place Awatsuki mentioned she was from. Saskia was a bit unfamiliar with that particular place, but smiled anyway graciously accepting the compliment she received for being observant. Saskia tapped on her bottom lip with her fingertip as she pondered about the presence of garden snakes. The girl had noted two that she saw with her own two eyes, but Saskia was aware that snakes were very keen on manipulating stealth and cloaking themselves among shrubbery and blending in with nature.
As Saskia begins her onslaught on the vicious snarling boars, she receives an incoming transmission, the voice is no one she recalled from her friends list or guild, she takes a few seconds to let it sink in the moment after she was deemed ‘Steelheart-dono”. The girl seemed very vigilant and wary about someone approaching them. They weren’t in safe territory being out in the open. Saskia appreciated the notion, because she was aware that some players would like to troll other players by preying on the weak and looting their gear and gold.
The assassin creeps silently along the battlefield, wielding two blades, an interesting combination for someone who wasn’t a swashbuckler. Saskia wondered if was aware that dual wielding wasn’t as effective for the other classes as it was for swashbucklers. It was also quite possible that she had other reasons for doing so, like preferring raw damage output over any line of defense. Still, the girl was quite swift and proved she could hold her own.
During her fight with the boar, a crack of gunfire startled her and she warned her new companion. Saskia was feeling very insecure at the moment having lowered her level, thus making her a lot more vulnerable. First an armoured person, now gunfire? Was this a freaking ambush!?!
Her companion was on the prowl as she whispered softly that she was going to intercept and engage one of them in a deep interrogation. Saskia winced at the thought, unsure of how Awatsuki planned on going about finding out more.
Saskia toggled her [Cool Defense] skill as she ripped her sword across the boar in three violent swings, after taking two smacks to the thigh. Though she felt her thigh begin to bruise, her armor in tandem with her ability protected her enough to hold her own. She cast her gaze over towards the direction of where the girl had wondered off to.
Sure enough there she was with her blade against the back of a man’s neck who had a patch on his eye. Wait. A Patch? It couldn’t be? Saskia squinted skeptically. After taking a few steps over to get a better look, she confirmed and facepalmed in the distance, releasing a low sigh. This wasn’t the first time Bailin had gotten into trouble with women. He seemed to attract them like moths to a flame, and quite frankly, Saskia was getting tired of having to save his hide or diffuse a situation he had got himself caught up in.
Fortunately, for her, it seemed that a stalwart knight was chivalrous to do it herself. Clad in heavy armor the superior leveled Guardian had her sword at the neck of the lone ronin. Saskia gritted her teeth, a bit. Just who was this woman that was stealing her shine and being so protective over Bailin. Her first instinct was to stomp over and punch her in the face and give her a piece of her mind, but the pink haired yandere would settle down after realizing the uncanny resemblance to her friend she first met when she spawned into this world with a few others.
Shaking her head, she rushed over to help diffuse the situation and possibly rectify things.
Bailin seemed to be trying to handle negotiations as she watched his mouth moving as he began to rise.
She was a fair bit of distance away, so she decided to use telepathy before shit hit the fan.
“Wait, Shizuri-chan, they’re friends....” Saskia muttered in a hurried breath as her armor rattled while she tried to approach.
When she arrived, she took a moment to catch her breath before calmly speaking.
“Everyone, please, if I could have your attention for a moment. Bailin, Shizuri-chan, Pen....everything’s cool. Everything’s going to be alright. No one’s going to kill up each other. Allow me to explain. The girl is Shizuri-chan. I was accompanying her to help her through a few quests. She mentioned people approaching, then I heard a gunshot, so I told her to be vigilant. Now, Shizuri-chan...the man whose neck you have a blade upon....he just so happens to be a man who is apart of my guild at the academy and whom is a man is very near and dear to my heart, so I’d like his head to stay on his shoulders. The woman behind you in also a companion of mine and sparring partner. She’s just naturally defensive and from the looks of things one could easily understand how she might have mistook you for a violent aggresor. I will also ask you, Pen, to please lower your sword and let’s all just introduce ourselves peaceful like.”
Saskia smiled warmly as she raise her hands up, displaying that she was unarmed.
However, meanwhile, their loud voices was alerting a swarm of slithering snakes that had their <<Camouflage>> skill activated lurking in the midst for the oppurtune moment to strike... template by caesar

As the man before me realised what's happening I heard loud steps and rattle of armor behind me. My fex ears twiched a bit and my tail swung to side. I rip the other katana out of its scabbard with skill right in the moment to clash blades with the woman that entered the area showing the advantage of having a side weapon. I'm holding the weapon with reversed grip to use it better to protect myself from attack if it would come. I'm glad that I picked two weapons instead of one... When I will focus on precise attacks I can use just the main one and in situations like this I have a spare card in my sleeve. I check the situation a bit tightening the grip on my left weapon which is just protecting me from new intruders blade. Longsword and shield. Platemail armor. A guardian. I check her quickly with just a glance. “Alright I’m slowly going to stand up before both my legs fall asleep, I will keep my hands up.” The rifleman informed me about his intention. After a moment I nod lightly and make a step to side to get further away from both of them, but still close enough to attack or react on their actions holding both my both weapons prepared before me holding the right blade still in direction of the rifleman and the other reversed grip holding it before the guardian. "To answer your question, guardian, I will just say that I was a little bit startled by the gunshot and decided to find out what's happening." I answer with a calm voice checking the guardian more throughoutly as I say that.
The rifleman started to talk again. I look lightly confused by his words. "Firstly I would be glad if you didn't refer to me as charming. Secondly, this weapon is called a katana. It isn't a knife. I interrupted you practice because I wasn't sure what would be your intentions when you would find out location of my ally in this forest. And I know what a musket is. My knowledge about firearms is very large, since I worked with them quite a while. I still think that it would be better and still quite easy to make a bolt action rifle using Mauser design in the bolt group and long rifled barrel." I say in the reply of his quite rude answers which offended me in multiple ways.I was starting to think about the best battle plan when I hear my companion through the telepathy. “Wait, Shizuri-chan, they’re friends....” I hear her words. "Steelheart-dono..." I mumble and lower my blades returning both of them into their scabbards on my left side with a skilled move. However I leave one hand, the left one, resting on the grip of the upper katana. I wait for Saskia to arive there and wait on her words. She sugested the solution of this situation. I check the people there again and nod lightly. "I understand now." I say simply. I bow politely during my introduction. "I'm terribly sorry to aproach you in such rude way Bailin-sama. I didn't know that you're Steelheart-dono's lover. I also apologize for considering your rival as an enemy. I hope that she will forgive me too." I say the last sentece with a light bow towards the second guardian. As I do so I notice one of the snakes and tighen the grip on my blade concentrating myself on the snake as it aproaches Bailin. The moment it prepares to strike I make a quick step forward and strike the snake with one of my Katanas with one of the many katana unsheathe-strike techniques. As the blade pierces the snakes skinn I whisper two silent words. "Fatal Ambush" I say as the snake disappears and pixelates leaving the loot behind as the high-damage skill which finished it cooldown right now hit it.

Guardian - Bodyguard - Artisan
_____________________________________________
The small woman reacted less adversely than Pen had feared. In a swift and efficient motion she drew her second katana, holding the mune, the back of the blade, against the side of her forearm. This style was simply refered to as a reverse grip, though there were some that liked to give it flair by calling it an "assassin's grip". Until that moment, Pen hadn't thought it fit. The fox tail made no sign of letting her blades down, instead Pen saw her eyes do a smooth once over of her gear. She's sizing me up. She thought, making sure her shield was in the best position to deflect her first attack. The guardian noticed the style of dress she had, while she had already noticed it was chain mail, the clothing underneath resembled less of what a samurai wore. Assassin, then. High DPS. Best be careful. She made a mental note of the condition of the assassin's gear, rather virgin in comparison to her arms and armor. This meant she either took much better care of her gear than Pen had lately, or that she was relatively low leveled. Pen didn't assume one over the other, she wasn't going to let her level cloud her mind and make her overconfident, should she move to attack.
Calmly the one-eyed marksman spoke; he was going to move, to prevent his lower limbs from falling asleep. He kept his hands at least shoulder with, his left still clutching the musket. Once he was standing, he faced the two women and opened his mouth to speak again. His words were rather calm but practically insulting towards the assassin. Pen wasn't sure if he was trying to goad her into an attack now that he was standing or, like her, had no filter. His tongue continued to wag on about the musket like a school teacher to a student. Pen fought off the urge to roll her eyes. He even went so far as to mention he had a girlfriend. Oi, I don't care about your girlfriend. This isn't someplace to come to pick up women. And I've met plenty of Guardians I couldn't stand. Pen thought to herself, unwilling to let the conversation lull her into a more relaxed posture. The assassin had replied curtly, having taken obvious offense to his explanation. Her tone practically dripping his venom as she spoke.
Pen watched the small assassin, no doubt mentally preparing for an attack. But it never came. Instead the fox tail's blades lowered, her lips moving in an almost inaudible word. A hair's breath later a horse mounted rider stormed toward them. The assassin made no move to attack as Pen crane her neck to look over to her right a moment. A flurry of cotton candy bounced on the rider's shoulders as she culled the reigns of her steed, bringing the beast to a standstill. It was Pinky, a guardian she met on her first day in Londonium. She was also a pseudo-student of her's. Pen sometimes taught people sword play, almost never for money as more of having a pet peeve if someone was using a sword in a hazardous and foolhardy manner. The rosy haired woman looked rather majestic atop her warhorse Icarus. Pen recognized the horse almost as soon as she did Saskia. On numerous occasions had that horse slobbered in her hair or stolen an apple she had set aside during practice with his rider.
As the fellow guardian come to a stop her mouth began running a mile a minute. She used all their names, giving introductions an almost void necessity. In an attempt to defuse the situation, which Pen felt Saskia might want to do, as she revealed the pirate-marksman and her were bedfellows in more than one way. She mentioned her relationship with Pen and how she knew the assassin, Shizuri...chan. Honorifics? So she was Japanese? Or was she just one of those people that role played being Japanese? Pen wondered as Saskia requested her to lower her weapon, which after a moment of watching the assassin she did...reluctantly. As Pen's blade lowered, Shizuri uttered her understanding of the situation, apologizing to Bailin...sama. Again? Pen felt a groan fighting its way to the surface but fought it off. She thought, while mentally narrating the situation in hopes of not actually groaning. Shizuri also extended an apology to her; hoping for forgiveness, she said. Pen raised an eyebrow questioningly as the fox tail bowed and as Pen is about to lower her shield, the assassin moves.
Hostility in her movement sent Pen a step forward before her eyes noticed the snake making an attack on Saskia's lover, Bailin. The snake was stopped short by the assassin's blade cleaving through the small creature's scaly body. Trace amount of blood hit the ground as its body dispersed in the usual shiny bubbles and pixels, leaving behind its loot. Pen had her sword up with the flat of the blade resting on the top right corner of her shield. She hadn't assumed her defensive posture as she watched the small woman protect Bailin. Her bright yellow eyes widened slightly at the realization that she didn't believe the woman's words when she apologized. She felt the need to return the favor and offer an apology herself, but that would have to wait as the hairs on the back of her neck stood up. Eyes, the hard gaze from another is what she felt, murderous intent.
Pen spun around in the direction she felt the threat was coming from. "I don't think we're alone." She said, realizing how cliche she sounded, as she slid into her defensive posture. "I suggest you swap weapons, lover boy. Pinky, you gonna enjoy the view form the nosebleeds?" Pen's sass was thick, a normal reaction when she entered battle or was preparing for one. It wasn't due to nerves, she had become used to battle in the time sense the Catastrophe. No, Pen sass was due to her enjoyment of battle. She was spec'd for high defense, with her body guard subclass and skills she always tried to place herself as the wall before her teammates. Her heighten empathy helped her make that decision.

As he stood up he could hear another sword sliding from its scabbard. ‘Oh great, she has two knives, I guess she must be compensating for at least something or that guardian lass is really, really scary.’ He thought, not seeing something that scared him that much, Saskia had been a tad more… imposing, especially that one time where he was attacked from behind by Cortana. But he couldn’t complain, worst case scenario both of these lasses would go after him and make fine mince bits out of him. Best case scenario, they’d all walk away happily and mostly unharmed.
A couple remarks back and forth brought the trio to the next subject, the knife-wielder telling him not to call her charming, the intended sarcasm obviously flying past her, as well as his remark about the katana being a knife. ‘My oh my, this is going to prove rather, difficult…’ he thought to himself, as the girl continued about how she knew a lot about firearms because she had worked with them for a while, mentioning she preferred a Mauser with a stock and long barrel. ‘Aha, so you’re just jealous that’s it, gods I’m glad Saskia isn’t like this… well ok, when it comes to other girls but that’s totally different.’ he thought, constraining himself to a solid solemn face as to hide his thoughts as they were a lot funnier than what the girl had to mention.
“Steelheart- dono??? Oh shoot not this… again.” Bailin mumbled as he let his head drop a bit and placed his empty hand on his face, as if to drag something off of it.
“Hello dear, this appears to be a rather unhealthy habit of ours now isn’t it? I can’t even practice marksmanship in the woods without running into you, one way or another.” He said grinning, as Saskia asked the three of them for their attention, reassuring them that everything would be fine. The next few moments she used to explain the situation, referring to the knife-wielder like – chan… which was odd but well, supposedly things could get a lot weirder given the general circumstances. She ended with asking the other guardian to lower her weapon, making Bailin think, but this time keeping his remark only in his mind: ‘Oh so you two know each other, well I told you you’d like her.’
At the arrival of Saskia the girl apologised to him and the unknown but known by Saskia guardian, which he waved off as if it wasn’t needed for his account. “Stuff happens lass and you should be less worried about making me mad… You should see Steelheart- Dono when she’s mad, I had the displeasure of finding that one out myself.” He said, grinning, thinking back to the ‘Cortana- incident’.
However before they could enter some less hostile formalities they were cowardly assailed by snakes! Being focussed on the three ladies Bailin failed to notice one of the snakes attempting a sneak attack on his person. However the snake was quickly dispatched by the girl with the katanas as she had stressed rather clearly before. ‘Meh, guess she isn’t that bad at all or at least she has her uses, I suppose.’ Bailin thought grinning internally, whilst he felt an annoyance in his chest for not being able to perceive the snake himself.
Next up came the shout of the rather silent guardian. During the entire encounter before the snakes she had said perhaps… five sentences, the only noises she had made were her subtle movements as to anticipate any possible attack from the katana-knife girl. Now however she had mentioned they were not alone, the attack on his person making that rather obvious and that he, the lover-boy, would do best to switch to melee and asking Saskia something about a view and a nosebleed… probably an inside joke Bailin figured as he used [Quick swap] to store his musket and take out his rapier in about one second, it probably showing more as a flashy magic trick than a changing of weaponry in the normal way. Next he activated his [Trained Eye] and went for the nearest snake he could find, without strolling too far off from the guardians and assassin’s effective range. Dancing in front of the snake he activated his [Sword Rain Flurry] and stabbed the snake in front of him five times, “I hate snakes! Give me a lot, but keep these darn snakes away from me!” he shouted at the snake in front of him after having it’s health bar dropped to at least a third of its full mark.
However, his hatred for snakes did leave him open as he found out after the snake attempted to bit him in the abdomen. Luckily for him he was wearing his armour, making the assault result in a head-butt, but still pushing Bailin back a small bit and lowering his own health bar. Gritting his teeth he thought to himself: ‘I need better gear, next time I get home I should kick Oddy to work.’

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________ The tension in the air began to tremble slightly, before fading as Saskia saw the body language and facial features of the trio begin to settle down. The hostile aura of the winds that channeled and swirled around them began to subside like a storm that had begun to slowly disperse. Saskia eyes darted between them all, shifting glances as she monitored their movements. She was really hoping her words had reached them and that no one would suddenly strike at each other after feigning a short lived surrender. Her eyes quivered at the sight of the lone ronin as she boldly held her two swords across the two of Saskia’s companions. Saskia was feeled when a sensation of fear as her heartrate increased rising with the tempo of the collision of blades. Steel slid off steel, making an eerie scraping sound as the foxy assassin removed her katanas. Saskia exhaled a swift sigh of relief as the girl she had only met just moments before muttered words of understanding and let a subtle apology slip from her lips as she tried to make amends for the misperception she had. Awatsuki lowered her weapons and sheathed her blades.
Next, Saskia’s glance shifted to Pen, who seemed to have shouted the loudest amongst the group. That fiery red head could light the fire under anyone’s ass and whip them into shape. After all, she was the warrior that shook Saskia out of her pampered princess persona and turned her into a Scottish-Brit version of Mulan. Swordplay and footwork, well-trained disiplines that helped Saskia grasp a better concept of how the art of warfare worked in terms of one on one duels. The training was rigorous and Saskia appreciated it as it help mold her into a much fiercer adversary. Saskia heart beat dropped a bit, though she still felt the subtle beat in her chest as Pen lowered her sword.
Her eyes floated to the final musketeer in this party as he groaned, standing up, muttering a bit of distaste for Awatsuki’s choice of choosing to use honourifics to address Saskia. Saskia tilted her head and shot him the glance of a nagging housewive at a refined dinner party trying to signal Bailin that he was not minding his manners and was being rude. Saskia thought the use of honourifics was actually a cute notion whether it was real or just improvised roleplay.
Bailin so coyly greeted Saskia, who was still greeting him back with bulging eyes and housewife aggro. She smirked a bit as she squinted at him skeptically, though the corners of her lip quivered a bit as she was trying to still maintain a scolding expression, though she wanted to laugh. Sometimes it got on her nerves as she couldn’t make herself stay mad at him. That was until...he made a witty remark about temper which made her deliver him an evil eye in exchange for his little outburst.
As she was about to send a swift onslaught of lectures to Bailin about his behavior, she noticed the shimmering of Awatsuki’s blade become unsheathed as the shine of light reflected from it and bounced the reflection of light into Saskia’s eyes. Not knowing what to make of the girl’s sudden movement, Saskia instinctively raised her shield, a quick reflex she had developed after all those times Pen had swung blades at her like a phoenix haired Valkyrie, effectively traumatizing her for life. She assumed a defensive stance bending at the knees, planting her feet firmly against the soil, as she unsheathed her blade watching the assassin dispatch a creeping predator that slithered upon the surface.
Saskia blinked in astonishment at the girls dexterity, so this was the speed of the infernal assassin class. She was impressed at the speedy reaction time as she furried her brow at the sight of the dissolving snake as he burst into a colorful assortment of floating bubbles that drifted up into the sky. The first voice she heard was was the battle-harden steel bearer, Pen as she announced the potential presence of more interlopers. Saskia gritted her teeth as Bailin seemed a bit shocked himself.
Pen’s sassy taunt invoked a bit of Saskia’s scottish nature. “Whoa there, gingerbread girl, don’t be writing me off as no pink barbie, love! Not a chance I’m sitting in the nosebleeds for this. Grab my mouthpiece, Sassy’s hopping in the ring!” Saskia shouted enthusiastically as the metal scraped against her scabbard as she swiftly withdrew her blade. She smirked shooting Pen a mischievous glance as her eyes cracked like glass and roared into golden swirling orbs of battleborn bloodlust. Her hair grew thicker as her shield-sister and her ears slid from the roof of her head, emerging from underneath her hair.
She shifted her stance as she noticed Bailin announce his distaste for slithering cold blooded reptiles and unleashed a five fold flurry of unchained fury at the approaching snake. After watching the snake squirm and flop about, regaining it’s aggressive stance, it launched itself at Bailin, smacking itself in a retarded manner as it bounced back off.
She stepped on the snake and began to Saskia snarled into a wolfish howl as she pressed her back against her shield sisters, eyeing around at the surrounding scenery. She wanted to help her lover, but the sounds of slithering tongues kept her at bay.
“Shit, I can hear them, but I’m not seeing any of the damn things! Hell’s bells, I think the littler neepers are blending in with the damn soil!” Saskia exclaimed as her eyes darted all around in front of her as she noticed the silhouette of a waving serpent dissolve as he sudden sprung forth, his jaws spread open wide like a steel death trap as it sprung forth up at Saskia. Saskia’s eyes grew wide as she saw it’s fang encroach upon her face. The tempo of the battlefield slowed down as Saskia’s heart sank, the fear began to wash over her as she heard the grunt of her shield-sister behind her, possibly engaged in her own skirmish. Finding seeds of inspiration by being with her brother and sisters in combat, she clenched her fist and flipped her wrist of her sword arm. Quelling the sensation of fear, as she unleashed a bold strike upward, sending the tip of her sword to collided with the neck of the snake, hurling it upwards, as she used her [Counter Break] skill with rather nice timing and effectively countered it, allowing her to follow up with bringing her sword across her left shoulder and slashing horizontally across the front of her chest and cut the snake on it’s fatal descent and smack it to the side.
She watched her skill go into cooldown, as the counter clocked down from 30. She glanced side eyed at the timer as she dug her iron greaves into the dirt. The adrenaline surged though her as she heard more hissing. It grew louder and more numerous as the sinuous sounds began to surround them.
“Oi, I don’t know about you guys, but I’m getting a funky feeling ‘bout all this...” Saskia howled as she felt uneasy about the whole situation. It was unnatural for the beasts of this forest to be this organized....

When the guardian says that we aren't alone I glance around us quickly. Maybe the part of the snakes were camuflaged but they couldn't hide the way they affected the ground above them and around them. I glance and look around unequiping one katana via the interface loosening the scabbard with my weapon grabbing the sheathed katana with the scabbard in my left hand. In an incredibly flashy and useless way I see the rifleman-lover swap his weapons in one second. Suddenly I hear a change in Saskia's speaking style which sounded quite skottish, the style I noticed when talking to many players. Gingerbread girl? Pink Barbie? Mouth piece? Hopping in the ring? Thoughts runned in this dirrection as she matal scraped against her scabbard when she redied her blade. Steelheart smirked at the "gingerbread girl" as she fell into battleborn blooddust her ears showed on her head emerging from underath her hair. So she's a wolfhair... That explains this sudden change... I think to myself. I see him get towards a snake and attack him stabbing him multippletimes as its HP drop at least to a third. “I hate snakes! Give me a lot, but keep these darn snakes away from me!” he shouts suddenly. Dislike for snakes? Why? I wonder. However as he shouts the snake headbutts and lovering his HP a bit. The snake didn't have the time to make another strike. She stepped on the snake and get to Saskia pressing her back against her back eying around. I move over to the lover-riffleman since those two showed themselves able to block attacks of those snakes. I hear Saskia again exclaiming that she doesn't see any snakes despite hearing them, darting with her eyes all around the location. By this time my skilled eyes located all the snakes. I quickly use the interface with my right hand sending party invite to Bailin and the second guardian quickly. "Bailin-san. Before you there are three snakes. I will try to give them the poison debuf. Can you finish them then so I can move over to help the others?" I glance over the battlefield. It seemed that Steelheart was a bit shocked by the snake sprung forth up to her. Both of them enganged in combat. "Steelheart-dono. Gingerbread-san." I adress the guardians. "there are five snakes around the two of you. Five more will aproach in next fifteen seconds. It's possible that five more snakes from the area surrounding us will aproach us. It seems that they aren't able to penetrate the armor. They will aim for exposed areas probably. If you two can keep their attantion I will move over to you after I will hep Bailin-san eliminate targets around him." I say as I glance over the three snakes preparing to attack them. The cooldown for [Fatal Ambush] was lowered to 45 seconds. I turn around ripping the blade out of its scabbard wounding the snake attacking Bailin from his left side hurting it slightly applying the poison debuf. With a jump I get out of it's range and swing the blade on another snake hitting it in it's neck lowering it's HP and poisoning it too. The third snake notices me and launches his attack on my. I dodge it mostly as it hits the armored area, but my low level causes the damage to be quite big anyways, lowering my hp to 73%. I groan as I mumble. "This body is limiting my abilities..." to myself. Normaly players in eldertale show that their abilities increased due to the system. Is it possible that I was trained good enough in the real life to exceed the abilities of my character? I hit the snake with the scabbard throwing it across the battlefield and lowering it's health slightly as I turn around again and cut the second snake in it's neck causing the HP lower to 50%. I dush to side to swich with bailin dodging the next attack of the snake, it's deadly fangs missing my leg just by few inches. I dash over to the three snakes before Steelheart. She lowered her level so her abilities are limited now. The gingerbread guardian should have bigger level, so she should be able to fend them off on her own. I will start with snakes before her. I dash over to her watching my cooldown drop to 27 seconds. I revert the grip on the katana slicing backs of two snakes attacking Steelheart and hurting them, taking quite big portion of their healt and poisoning one of them. I manage also to block one attack from the third snake with the katana scabbard slamming it's head which is chewing the scabbard against a tree lowering it's health further. This combat is tiring. I need to speed up but this body is weaker than I expected. I need to finish this quickly. I clench my teeth and turn back to face the snakes before me, my black hair fluttering behind me as I glare on the snakes with my red eyes, the look of my eyes promising pain and agony. And so Saskia joined the fray; her pink locks bounced as she shifted her stance, the weight of her heavy armor baring down on her more slender frame. Saskia was a bit thinner than Pen was, though just by looking at her in the armor you wouldn't really be able to tell. The pink haired guardian also about half a head shorter than her, which in some cases, tended to help her out. The all too familiar sound of metal scrapping against the opening of the scabbard reached Pen's ears. It was a sign that her sister-in-arms had drawn her blade. Quickly following his lover, Bailin voiced his dislike of serpents. Which was coupled with the *plok plok plok* sound of something piercing the soft tissue of a snake. Though with her back to the marksman Pen was unable to know what was occurring on her six.
Whatever was happening behind Pen seemed to have set Saskia off as the pink haired warrior-woman let out a snarl. A quick scrap against her armor sent a minor vibration through her body as Pinky placed her back against Pen's. Her shield sister swore, practically shouting how she could only hear the enemy but not see them. By her deduction they were using a skill to blend into the grass. A moment later a involuntary gasp escaped the slender shield maiden's mouth as she reacted to something. She jerked her arm up into the air, which wouldn't have been a problem had she not been plate to plate with Pen when she did so. The flame haired guardian was struck by Saskia's sudden reaction sending her a unstable step forward. A grunt escaped her mouth as she caught herself but not before something lunged at her from the grass.
Due to her friend's reaction catching her off guard and sending her forward without sure footing, Pen's guard was down for a moment, which was all the serpent needed. The scaled, wiry creature lunged toward the guardian with its fangs extended. White hot pain shot through Pen's neck as the serpent's fangs disappeared into her flesh. She released a sharp *gah* as the pain receptors picked up the bite. Pen could already see the [Poisoned] icon appear near her health bar. Stifling a string of curses she stabbed her long sword into the ground, snapping her leather bound fingers around the neck of the snake and squeezed. With a single motion she ripped the serpent from her body, she wrapped her shield hand around the other end of the creature and pulled as hard as she could. It didn't take long for Pen's superior stats to allow her pulling to separate its head from its body.
The snakes blood splattered against her armor and face. Its two pieces burst into anima before she could discard them to the ground underfoot. Another snake lunged toward her but she was ready now. Her blood was pumping, which sent the [poison] in her veins throughout her body. However, due to her higher level to the snakes its [poison] was weak and did little to slow her down. As the snake was in mid-lunge the wolf hair ripped her blade from the earth as she raised her shield to block the string of meat and scales. She waited till the moment it collided with her wall of metal, once the vibration of the impact notified her of the impact she shifted her weight and brought her blade in a few inched from the surface of her shield. While she was using underleveled gear Pen felt the blade meet resistance as the hilt dipped against her fingers. The serpent, while not dead, was indeed injured leaving around fifty-five percent of its health bar intact.
Pen let out a quick growl as she whipped the half dead creature toward the nearest tree, watching at its impact with the tree dropped its health another fifteen percent. The guardian couldn't see where it sent after it reached the grass. Taking the moment her canary eyes snapped to her health bar and say she was down by three percent. That much wasn't a problem for her as [Resiliency] allowed for minor battle regeneration. Thanks to [Resiliency] I don't have to worry about the [Poison] much. But I gotta be careful! Pen thought as she glanced over her shoulder. "Is everyone alright?" She asked realizing she had just spoken at the same moment the assassin was trying to inform her of the number of serpents around her. "Well they're one down now. And don't use honorifics!" She snapped, hunkering down into her defensive stance, her eyes scanning the grassy area, relying on her peripheral vision to pick up on the trace movement. "Why the hell are there so many of the bastards?!" Pen roared furiously, her lust for battle was spiking her anger. Due to that and being paired with her heightened empathy tapping into the emotions of the others around her, Pen's English accent was especially thick. Although there was something else she was feeling...but what was it...and from where?

“You do know you talk a lot during combat. Yes, there are three snakes in front of me; I’m a bit more interested in the snakes behind me, so if you want to talk during a fight, just give me numbers and locations, if you’d be so kind”.[break][break] Bailin responded to the assassin telling him about her plans, “as for your poisoning plans, go ahead, you do not have to share those plans in the middle of the fight.” He grumbled as he kept a close eye on the snakes in front of him and occasionally shot his eye to his health bar. The assassin continued talking about five more snakes coming up within fifteen seconds, which made him think, with an annoyed voice in his head ‘Great, more snakes, why I love snakes… the ones that try to kill me most of all!’, barely avoiding one of the snakes and getting bit in his leg by the other, dropping his health even further. ‘I should get my hands on that health cartridge, never been beaten up this much so far, though this is getting rather annoying…’ he thought as he saw his health bar drop to about 75%. “Alright this has taken long enough!” he rumbled, putting the handle of his rapier in front of his chest and stabbing the first snake as the assassin had killed the one he had wounded.
After the stab he took half a step to his left side and placed his rapier a bit off of his side, the point leaning downwards. Inhaling deeply he took a step forward and slashed the side of the snake, dropping its health to about 40%.
From all around him Bailin could hear anguished hissing, the slashing of weapons and the sound of anima and blood gently gushing from wounds inflicted by his partners in slaughter as well as by the annoying snakes. The other guardian shouted out that the assassin shouldn’t use honorifics and rhetorically asked why there were so many snakes.

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________ Saskia’s eyes darted about the battlefield like volcanic gold orbs as she tried to discern where the enemy would lie. She outstretched her gaze over the plain, but could not see much of anything through the tall grass. The first to speak up was the rogue assassin who wielded two swords. She responded to Saskia’s shouts of distress from not being able to get a visual on her enemy. Apparently, she naturally had a better perception as she she sent out party invitations to the rest of the team while shouting out her best guesstimate of how many mobs would be headed their way. It was a pretty damn good call, too, seeing as each class gave a passive stat buff to the rest of the party. Every little bit helped in this brutal ambush. Saskia snickered as Awatsuki called her time-proven companion, Pen Firecrotch Ddraig, Gingerbread-san. Maybe in time the nicknames would stick, but for now they would have to save the light humor for another day.
She heard the girl call out an average of fifteen that made her eyes bulge wide. How in the hell did they manage to aggro so many? It was seriously beginning to tick Saskia off at how quickly they were becoming overwhelmed. She didn’t even have any area of effect aggro skills, but she did possess one card up her sleeve. For now she would bide her time, until the window of opportunity arrived. Out of her periphial vision she saw Awatsuki get wounded as she initiated an assault against the slithering creatures. The blow had rendered her to only three quarters of her health. She was the lowest level in the field, and was definitely more vulnerable than the experienced Bailin, or the gallant warrioress with the flaming hair. Saskia began to wonder if the girl could manage her cool down in such violent waves from the opposition. Assassins could hold their weight by dishing out harsh single target damage, but facing an army of serpents was a whole other demon. Especially since most of them used poisoned that would damage health over time.
A scream rang out from behind her in pain as a reptile leaped up like a panther and gnawed the nape of her friend’s neck. Saskia winced at the sight, but was aware that Pen could hold her own, being at a much higher level than they. Had she been a few levels lower, the poison might have proved fatal. Saskia still could’t help but feel guilty for knocking her off balanced and by bringing her emotions into the battlefield, she succumbed to a brief wind of complacency which earned the creatures of the night an avenue of approach in breach their defenses. A shifty snake slid across the ground and around her shins before sinking it’s teeth into her platemail. Though it was unable to pierce through, the game mechanics still registered the damage. Saskia shook her foot wildly, trying to fling the creature off, but he had a tight grip on her ankle. Saskia’s flipped her sword upside down, the tip pointing at the snake, both her hands upon the hilt, as the trembled, glancing down to calculate the right angle, lest she stab herself in the foot. She applied just enough pressure in between her greaves and the snake to pry it off, sending a slash to it’s body.
“neep...there’s too many of these bastards. Oi, Bailin, that M.U.T. Tool...it alters terrain, yeah? How fast does t work? Like if you built a trench, maybe we could just knock the damn things in! It’d be a hell of a lot easier than taking them all on at once. Last I checked Snakes can’t climb up walls!” Saskia shouted. She wasn’t sure if it would work or not, but given the numbers, the odds were not quite in their favors for a full out assault.
Her horse began began to neigh wildly as he sensed his master in danger. He stampeded into the herd of snakes and stomped at the snake Awatsuki had damaged with his vicious hooves dropping it’s health down to nothing as the snake shattered beneath his feet.
“Oh, damn, how could I forget, Icarus! That makes five! Alright, this gives me an idea.” Saskia said as with hopped lopsided on the horse, barely handing off as he galloped into the upcoming swarm of five snakes, cutting right just shy of them. Saskia had activated her [Knight’s Honor] skill. A skill that raised her agility, thus aiding her evasiveness and also attracting aggro to her from the surrounding fiends. She had the luxury of mobility in this race, she smiled back at the group with the mischievous grin of a wild rider. “Oi, Pen keep the girl safe. I’ll keep this wave distracted while you focus on the group in front of you!”
She heaved herself into a much more stable position on the horse, before climbing and sitting up right, gripping the reigns. “Come on Butters, let’s show these snakes who’s the fastest colt in Londiminium!” The pink haired Guardian shouted as she activated [Taunting shout] drawing a sixth snake away from Awatsuki. It was a clever way to manipulate aggro, working in tandem with her horse, she could easily kite the mobs for dangerous situations like these where movement speed could mean the drastic difference between life and death.
