To be honest, Wedge still does not believe that he can’t log out from the game that he plays right now.
Well, he knows well the concept of Virtual Reality games and its consciousness locking concept. But if the log out button doesn’t work, this means his consciousness will stay as Wedge, the low-level Sorcerer in blue outfit. Not that Wedge hates this world. In fact, he loves this world very much. It’s very fun! He can do many things that he can’t do in the other world. And he can meet many kinds of people with many kinds of personality. Wedge really likes Elder Tale with the bottom of his heart. But for once in a while, he has to face the real world and its problems. That’s what Wedge fears. While indeed game is fun, there are times where you can’t always play around. What will his parents do if they know their son is trapped in a game? No, don’t concern about things too much. Perhaps the log out system is having some problems and is being fixed at this moment.
Worrying and thinking too much about this thing makes Wedge’s head feels bad. And Wedge hates it whenever he got this headache. He needs something to chill himself off. Socialization could be the best thing that he would have to cure this tension. But Wedge isn’t always sociable. Sometimes there are times where Wedge needs no be alone. And that time is now. After having another night in the tavern and slept in the same in that served him the plain stew and potato Wedges, the Sorcerer with anonymous face takes another stroll around the Londinium District.
He’s still feeling fine. His energy is still full. However, his mood isn’t really that bright at this moment. Wedge’s mind already have pre-emptive, audiovisual image as a form of conclusion from what he thought about this world and the facts around it. He will have his day repetitive and boring. Taking quests, forming parties, hunting, grinding levels, eating the tasteless stew and potato wedges, sleeping at the inn, rinse and repeat. The possible images of the scenario played dozens of times while he walks around with his mellow mood. He’s glad that his face is concealed to the point people only can see his eerie yellow eyes. His face isn’t that good for now. Droopy, its corners are reaching its nadir.
He visited some places, and he feels nothing new to see and nothing necessary to do. He looked at his inventory out of boredom. With sluggish and unmotivated swiping moves, he accessed his status screen, looking things over and over again.
“Oh wait…”
Wedge paused when he looks at his inventory. His eyes beamed at one of his equipments. The Grimoire.
“Perhaps there’s a place related to the books. Maybe this game has a library or something.”
The motivation lightens up the brain, and the flames of passion burns once again. Probably there is some place where it has many books for Wedge to read. Yes, maybe he can kill his time in Elder Tale by reading books. Any kind of book is fine, as long as there’s something to read. No more consideration, he will find a library and read some books there.
It takes some time for Wedge to find the place that he wants to visit.
Again, thanks to the kind Landers and Adventurers, he can find it. A place that he thought never exists in this virtual game.
The building isn’t that big, but isn’t that small too. Probably about as big as the tavern that he visited. The building blends in with the other buildings in Londinium District with its stone accent and dull colorings. Doesn’t really that aesthetically fitting, but still looks good, nevertheless. Anyone who built this library has old school taste.
Wedge enters the library casually, giving a proper greeting while intruding himself to the innards of the Library.
“Good morning, sir.”
A teenage girl, about five feet and one inch, long blonde hair, blue eyes, and green dress greeted the man with a pleasant and humble welcome. Seemingly, this girl is the librarian, the one who keeps the library running.
“What brings you here?”
The girl asked the man with a cheerful tone. While people mostly comes to library to read books, probably there are some others who just come and pick a book to be borrowed and leave again, or maybe some people have business with the librarian or the owner. But Wedge, he comes here to read the books. And from the looks of it, this scarlet room with many big shelves has lots of interesting things to read.
“I come here to read some books. May I know what kind of books that you have here, miss?”
Wedge responded with such a gratuitous tone. His passion of life is at its peak.
“Ah, we have many kinds of books. Classic literatures, stories, food recipes, artworks, guidebooks, even we have maps here! You better see for yourself, there are many things for you to read!”
The girl motioned her hand, letting the man to walk closer to the shelves.
“Very well, let me have a look at your vast collections.”
Wedge starts to approach one of the big shelves and finding something worth to read.
This will take a long time.
