Appearance Dresden Blackstone is a thin, wiry man. He stands fairly tall, at 5'11". He isn't very strong compared to a lot of people, both Landers and Adventurers, but he does keep fit due to a life of moving books. He wears half-moon spectacles that help him focus on close-up objects, but he doesn't need them for details past 2 meters or so and he's been known to take them off in combat to keep them in one piece. Typically, he favors sturdy, functional clothing underneath a well-worn travelling cloak. His sole distinguishing mark is a scar across his right hand, a souvenir of an accident with a letter opener in his youth. | Personality Jacob Dresden is an outgoing person. He doesn't like to keep things to himself; he's horrible with secrets and deception. He might try to lie or evade a question if it's important, but he'll be painfully obvious. That isn't to say he caves under pressure, though. He's stubborn and loyal, and while he might eventually give up his own secrets, he'll take others' to his grave. He's not known for his planning skills; he doesn't like to take a lot of time to think of consequences. He finds an action that will probably improve the current situation, and then he takes that action. Using his intuition so regularly has given him a lot of faith in that same intuition; he trusts his instincts. Dresden gives trust freely; he'll work with anyone that doesn't look like they'll attempt to do him harm. He mostly relies on his intuition for those judgments, too. That, and looks. He can definitely be fooled by a pretty face, but he doesn't just roll over for an attractive person. He just has a hard time believing that someone who looks like a good guy might not actually be one. He tries his best to help people, because that's what he was raised to do and because he likes the way it feels to help someone else. |

Biography
Dresden Blackstone was not born to a noble house. The Unfounded Kingdom hasn't had nobility in a long time, not since before he was born. No, the Blackstone family worked at a trade like everyone else. Theirs was unique; they were scribes. Not everyone knows how to read and write, or draw a map, or any number of other things, and that was where scribes like the Blackstone family come in. It might be a needless service with the Adventurers, but the other People of the Land were all the customers the family needed anyway.
Dresden was unique even in his well-read family. He was born with the ability to access the Interface, a skill normally reserved for adventurers. It allowed him to store items in thin air, only to take them out later, or speak with people from across the town or possibly further. The Interface only fed his curiosity; he spent much of his early life reading anything he could get his hands on, looking for an explanation as to his talent's origin.
He never found that explanation, but around a year ago he did find something interesting. A grimoire, a tome of magic, with several spells that Adventurers used written inside. Dresden tried one of those spells on a whim, and was shocked to discover that it worked for him, too. With this kind of skill, he could help people like the Adventurers did. Wasn't that even better than helping people write contracts or letters?

CLASS SKILLS
Main Class: Sorcerer
Barrier Spike: Tier I Skill
A skill known to be one of the very few defensive options available to a sorcerer. The magician calls upon the powers of earth in order to erect a small wall of spiked stalagmites from the ground. This walls can withstand a moderate amount of physical damage before falling apart. However, the Sorcerer shouldn't count on this as their only defense. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 30 seconds. Barrier Spikes are considered to be resistant to Earth and Physical attacks and weak to Wind attacks.

Fireball Pitch: Tier I Skill
A quick and easy fire-based magic spell, summoning a small fireball in the palm of one's hand. It is warm to the touch when handled by the caster but burningly volatile when thrown. A successful direct hit inflicts light fire damage to the target. Unlike other spells, it is manually thrown at targets rather than automatically flying toward them. This comes with a number of benefits and disadvantages. Obviously, this skill requires accurate aim and dexterity. On the other hand, it provides for customized control and timing and its projectile speed is increased when thrown with high velocity. Due to the aesthetics and nature of this skill, Adventurers often throw these fireballs as if they were baseballs. Rumor has it that such a baseball tournament was started in the North American server as a peacekeeping event. This skill has a casting time of 2 second and a cooldown of 5 seconds. The cooldown is increased to 10 seconds if used by a non-mage class.

Serpent Bolt: Tier I Skill
A spell that shoots an initial blue-purple lightning bolt toward a target. However, rather than discharging entirely on the target on contact, the lightning remains as static energy. For 30 seconds at about 3-second intervals, the electricity arcs away from the target to damage and stun any other nearby enemies. As a result, it serves as a slight deterrent against defensive formations. Although this spell has a fairly long cooldown time, it has a fast casting speed and is often favored for use at the beginning of a battle. Because the target used to channel the electricity is not damaged by the spell, many Sorcerers also tend to cast it on themselves or a teammate as a supportive offense. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 45 seconds.

Roleplay Class: Pathfinder
Battle Perception: Toggle skill. Battle perception allows the Pathfinder to notice nearby monsters more easily by displaying their names and levels above their heads. It allows the Pathfinder to detect monsters about 3 meters further than a normal character, and is most useful for preventing ambushes.
Crafting Class: Scribe
Transcription: Scribes are known for their ability to copy and examine documents carefully. This allows them to obtain the Adventurer skill [Mythic Script] as a Beginner-level skill without it taking up a skill slot. Their knowledge also allows them to use and read grimoires in the Ancient Text, allowing them to use grimoires without penalties and perform some basic magic attacks depending on their Magic stat. If the character can already use grimoires through racial or class bonuses, grimoire damage increases by 10%.
