Appearance Pale-skinned Aria is a petite girl who is consistently mistaken as younger than she really is. Relatively short (she stands perhaps a half inch under five feet tall, though whenever asked she insists she stands just over five feet) and of a particularly slender build, she is often underestimated. However, beneath her clothes her body is well toned and muscular, as befits an agile swashbuckler. Her long ice-white hair reaches just to her thighs and is slightly wavy (and usually kept immaculate, as she takes great pride in her snowy mane). Her hair is normally left unstyled, but she is sometimes seen with a high ponytail... and never pigtails. She hates pigtails. Her ears are often nearly hidden in her locks, as they normally droop lazily down towards her cheeks. They do perk up when she is sufficiently riled, but that's usually only in battle. Aria's forest green eyes are large and rounded, giving her a permanent look of curiosity. Always full of light, they are capable of casting both fiery gazes of determination and glares like daggers. Her normal attire consists of a short cut, short sleeved, red leather jacket over a black tank top, followed by long black slacks, black "fingerless" gloves and a pair of brown leather combat boots (no stiletto heels; she tried running in them once... once...). She also wears a black dog collar complete with a golden tag inscribed with ancient writing. If she knows the translation to the writing, she has not volunteered the information. Other outfits include a long, flowing black dress complete with turtleneck and open back for special occassions; a puffy red jacket and black turtleneck for trips to the snowfield... and a white one-piece swimsuit with a gold ring over the chest for swimming... though she barely ever feels like swimming enough to wear it. She carries herself fairly proudly, and often has a bounce in her step, though when speaking to strangers she often closes up, crossing her arms into a more defensive posture. | Personality Aria is definitely introverted, to say the least. She prefers the company of nature to the company of other adventurers, although she finds herself able to easily converse with People of the Land. On her own, she is confident and often headstrong and stubborn in battle, though somewhat cautious when she can afford to be. In a party, however, she prefers to leave the shotcalling to others, silently following orders as they come and only making her own decisions when she has to. Fiercely protective of close friends, she will not hesitate to lay down her "life" for someone she cares about. As for making friends, she's less than sociable. It isn't that she resents the company of other people, but she feels awkward and uncomfortable with strangers to the point where she'd rather run than hold a conversation. Thus, she's not very good at judging the integrity of most people right off the bat. However, should someone be persistent in trying to make friends with her, she may warm up to them with time. Assisting her in battle is often the easiest way to get her to actually speak with you. Even when speaking with friends, she remains fairly awkward, and often finds herself hurriedly trying to explain whatever strange thoughts she let slip by accident. She does have fair sense of humor, but tends to get flustered when she's the target of the punchline. Once she's spent enough time with someone that hasn't outright wronged her, she trusts them almost unconditionally. When fighting, Aria tends to prioritize evasiveness over DPS. She has no problem taking more time to take down an enemy if it means she doesn't take damage. When it counts, however, she can stand toe to toe with most enemies and fight it out head on. Winning isn't as important to her as the experience, but she does like to please others, and so she tends to put a little more effort into fighting when others depend on her. The only exception to her introversion is when she dances, hence her Dancer subclass. Onstage, she's just as much of a whirlwind as on the battlefield - moving with the strength of a warrior but with a grace more befitting of a noble. She's at her happiest twirling around the dance floor with her dual swords flashing in the firelight. |

Biography
In the typical rich girl sob story fashion, Aria's life in the real world was cushy, but less than satisfactory.
Young Melody Adair was diagnosed with extreme social anxiety very early in her life, and it affected her to the point where even stepping outside of her room was incredibly stressful. The only human company she could tolerate was that of her father, a wealthy man who cared deeply for his daughter. Melody adored him and often sought his guidance when she found herself unable to work out a problem for herself, but for the most part she preferred the isolation of her room. The room itself, unlike the rest of the house, was simply decorated. Soft blue walls and sparse white furniture draped with pastel green. She had several bookshelves lined with everything from encyclopedias to novels to picture books, all of which she read regularly. However, though she was largely home schooled by her father and was also provided with several history books, she learned the most about the world outside through her beloved computer.
Melody quickly found that her anxiety had a loophole. When not directly face to face with another human being, she could actually hold short conversations with little trouble. Though still awkward and sometimes naive, she reveled in the thought that she may actually be able to interact with other people besides her own father. Though her anxiety pushed her away from people, she still longed to be able to tolerate some kind of companionship.
She began by frequenting social games in which players could create avatars that could move around and interact with others. In these games she rarely spoke, but her avatar was usually the same - a small, pale-haired girl with bright green eyes, similar to her real life appearance. In most cases, she found people to be interesting to listen to, and enjoyed being the kind of person that was easily talked to. But soon, being an ambitious girl, she became bored and moved on to more exciting games. She tried all types, from online card games to one-on-one fighting games to turn based strategy. But none of them could hold her down for long. She desired something meaningful, something on a grand scale...
And eventually she found it in Elder Tale. A friend from another game had mentioned it to her, and allowed use of their alternate account to explore the world. Melody was smitten almost at once by the bright colors and fantastical setting that were so in contrast to her washed out, quiet room. The mechanics took some getting used to, as she'd never played a true MMORPG before. But over the span of a few days and nights, she found herself unable to rip herself from the game. And so she created her own character, the same one she'd always used as an avatar since the beginning of her search.
Aria, a play on her real name.
Before she could truly get into the game, however, something spectacular occurred... and suddenly her old world of anxiety and fear melted away... only to burst forth in the form of the game she had been swept off her feet by: Elder Tale.

CLASS SKILLS
Main Class: Swashbuckler
Viper Raise: An attack that targets the arm tendons. A successful hit will result in gradual damage over time due to a bleeding effect, which is accommodated by the wound area seeping out a constant trail of blood. Despite the move's somewhat gory animation, this bleeding effect is fairly minor and scales in a manner similarly to a poison effect. Also, for the next 10 seconds, the target's attack speed will be decreased by 10% due to the pain associated with moving the arms. This skill has a 2 second animation time and a 9 second cooldown.
Shuffle Windmill: The Swashbuckler spins in place and performs 4 rotations with outstretched weapons, forming a horizontal sawblade attack. It can also be performed from a downed position in order to spin and transition into a final standing pose. This technique has optimal results if the lengths of both weapons are the same. Be careful of your party members' positions before you attempt it though. This skill has an animation time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 8 seconds.
Fold Step: Using this skill, the user's body suddenly is propelled and accelerates in a desired direction. It is often used as a surprise burst of momentum when delivering an attack or used as a last-ditch dodging maneuver. The only downside to this technique is that once activated, the swashbuckler cannot stop or adjust their trajectory. It should be noted that if this skill is used for an attack, the momentum from initiating the attack will not increase damage in any way. It merely allows the Swashbuckler to quickly close in on the opponent for a possible surprise attack. This skill has an animation time of 1 second and a cooldown time of 6 seconds.

Roleplay Class: Dancer
Pacifying Dance: A skill that allows the dancer to perform beautiful dances to momentarily captivate those who see it. For the next 30 seconds, monsters within 25 meters have their nature changed. Aggressive and Predatory monsters become Wary. Wary, Aloof, and Cowardly monsters become Docile. Docile monsters become Friendly. This effect does not work against monsters that are already engaged in battle when this skill was used.
Crafting Class: Tailor
Needlework: Due to the dexterity from which they perform their tasks, tailors are able to make up for any compromises in their ability. Any dexterity debuffs to a tailor can be recovered from twice as quickly.
