Appearance In-Game Appearance: Shard is a tall and deceptively thin man. It may look like he's bony, but he's actually fairly muscular. No one is quite sure what his face looks like, as it is always hidden behind a mask, but his red eyes can sometimes be seen through the eye slits. He always wears a dark red suit and black tie, along with a top hat perched on his head. He wears black gloves, which are tucked under the cuffs of his sleeves. Just like his misleading bony appearance, his suit and top hat are as well, providing much more protection than they appear to. His long black hair, which is also partially dyed crimson red, is tied up in a short ponytail. When he lets his hair down his bangs stop just below his eyes. He acts in a reserved and dignified manner in public. He'd only completely relaxes if he's sure that there's no one in sight, preferably when there's no one else around in a three mile radius. His public mannerism also affects his movements, he consciously keeps his movements fluid and graceful. He walks in a confident stride. Real Life Appearance: Jay's body type is similar to his avatar, except for his hair length. Jay's real hair is much shorter, so he's still adjusting to the bangs poking his eyes when he lets down his hair. He also has a chin warmer, so he usually strokes his chin warmer in thought. Jay also walks in more of a slow slouch, avoiding eye contact by staring at the ground. Jay's eyes are usually half closed. He likes wears dark comfortable clothes, the kind suitable for moving quickly if he needed to. | Personality Much like his username suggests, Sharden Freuden does take great pleasure from other people's pain. He's cynical, sadistic, misanthropic, blunt, enigmatic, and pragmatic. Shard is an introvert, he will consciously stay away from others for efficiency's sake (He'd go so far as to say that he won't waste the time nor brain cells to remember someone's name if they aren't worth it). However, if Shard must make himself heard he will act in an almost eccentric manner. Shard will do almost anything to leave an impression, he will start to rhyme, or even threaten the person he is addressing. Shard prefers to go by his senses; he will study his surroundings and determine the best course of action. He secretly prides himself on his situational awareness. Shard's thinking has boiled down for efficiency's sake. He cares more for the results of his actions, and not the ethos or pathos. His choice can also be influenced on what he can gain for the future. Shard is a selfish man and would only break this rule if he ends up having to lose rather than gain. But he's not completely devoid from his humanity, it's possible for him to like someone, dare I say, even love. Shard will do anything for his own benefit, so trust him at your own peril. However, if given a job you can trust him to complete it, granted you have to pay him and prepared to pay even more down the road. If he deems a person/cause to still be beneficial, or important enough, he'll keep them/it alive. He might even keep them/it happy. Shard will only tell what's necessary and will prevent anyone from trying to pry too deep, even under torture. Shard likes to play the chaotic neutral and even the necessary evil. He likes to be a hybrid role of support and front line combat. If he's confident he can win in close quarters, he'll take the chance to defeat his foe. Shard enjoys watching himself inflict pain. So there's a chance that he might shed his dignified facade and revel in the thrill of bloodshed. |

Biography
Jay's childhood was fairly mundane. He'd wake up, go to school, come home, sleep, and repeat. Jay is the kind of kid, you wouldn't look twice at. He earned As in class, but would never go for honors or AP classes. He'd study outside of class, but only on subjects he was interested in. But he's not a complete shut in, he has the ability to make friends with anyone and have some semblance of a social life. However, Jay wasn't willing to give it the time or the energy to make them last; because he felt uncomfortable and had something else he'd rather fill his time with: gaming. He's played every kind of game under the sun and I mean every kind of game.
When Jay started college, his life hadn't changed drastically, except he had more time for his beloved past time. While searching through the internet to find another game to add to his schedule, that's when he decided to take up Elder Tales. While he's heard of the popular title, he never really had the time to devote time to it. He didn't expect to be some sort of legend, he just wanted another thing to use his time on and to have fun.

The witch doctor's essentials is top hat style with a low brim that has been decorated with the skull of a goblin, surrounded by hand crafted hearts. The sides have also been decorated with bones from a goblin and two gold rings pierce the rim of the item. the item has a dark aura and it is said that the wearer uses the goblin's essence to reduce the effect of magic on the wearer. On the inside of the hat is the logo of Vanities United 2 stitched inside.

Gluttonous Haze:
Tier I Skill
The Heretic casts a spell onto a target, causing a thin black mist to surround their body. As that target deals damage to an enemy, the mist absorbs the Anima that was spilled by the blow and feeds it into the target's body to heal them a small amount. This spell, combined with Tainted Charity, allows the Heretic to take a slightly more support-oriented playstyle. However, keep in mind that the presence of the black aura has been linked to mood swings and aggressive among those affected by it. Gluttonous Haze has a duration of 10 seconds, a 4 second cast time, and a 20 second cooldown. While a target is affected by this skill, their Mind resistance is reduced by 1 stage.

Miasma and Anima are two sides of the same coin and so it is no surprise that Miasma can be used to restore the body. This skill heals the target by a small amount. Its animation is fairly deceptive, looking very similarly to the Heal skill. If a target who received healing from Tainted Charity is not healed again by Tainted Charity within 2 minutes, all HP restored by the skill is immediately removed. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds. Tainted Charity inflicts 2 points of Corruption on the target.

The Miasma strikes all opponents within 2 meters with dark attribute damage and applies 1 point of Corruption to all affected targets. Miasma Curtain does not damage allies, but will still apply Corruption if they are within range. This skill has a minimum casting time of 2 seconds, a maximum casting time of 5 seconds, and a cooldown of 10 seconds. Miasma Curtain's casting time can be increased in order to deal 10% extra damage and 1 additional point of Corruption per second.
Tier I Skill

Roleplay Class: Scholar
Evaluate: This skill allows the scholar to gain additional details about the enemy. While most players can access an interface that shows the monster's name, level, current HP, and current MP, the scholar obtains an additional interface when this skill is used. It has a one second cast time and one second cooldown time. The target's elemental weaknesses and a brief summary of their skills will be made available to the Scholar any time they access the target's interface.
Crafting Class: Scribe
Transcription: Scribes are known for their ability to copy and examine documents carefully. This allows them to obtain the Adventurer skill [Mythic Script] as a Beginner-level skill without it taking up a skill slot. Their knowledge also allows them to use and read grimoires in the Ancient Text, allowing them to use grimoires without penalties and perform some basic magic attacks depending on their Magic stat. If the character can already use grimoires through racial or class bonuses, grimoire damage increases by 10%.
