Appearance xaireal annabelle Annabelle was very peculiar as to what she wanted to be in Elder Tale, and she spent a very long time deciding what exactly she wanted out of a character in the game. It was only after careful consideration as to if she wanted to plug herself into the game or create a completely different persona to play. She eventually decided on the latter, finding it more than amusing to be a Courtesan in a made up game. Not finding herself to be very alluring in the flesh, she made a foxtail that was blonde (very important difference here), with large steely blue eyes and a super feminine kawaii face. She was very into cutesy things, in which her real life appearance did not reflect. In her opinion, cute was befitting of a courtesan, and she decided that this was to escape reality to why not. When creating her character, she only allowed the best of the best qualities. That meant perfectly white creamy skin and perfect hair and perfect body... Xaireal really was what Annabelle thought would be the best courtesan ever. Perhaps she had taken it a bit too seriously. But Elder Tales was an MMO and she intended to use this to her advantage. Xai takes pride in her very flawless and rather curvaceous body. However, she is of average height and her eyes are large and round. She keeps her hair down more often than not since she rarely goes to combat, but she will tie it up when she goes into combat since it does get in the way. Often times she dresses well for her role - she takes her roleplaying class very seriously and likes to dress the part. Unfortunately it also involves lots of money to lots of tailors. She does like the Miko outfit, although she's not a Shaman (she's not even a healing class), but she dresses in various other clothes as well. She likes to wear formal wear in public, but when she's alone she'd prefer to shed the clothes and go commando - or, you know, just in some comfortable clothes that boast snugness not appearance. Rarely does she invite another over to her private abode, unless they pay extra, of course (or they're a good friend). In the flesh, Annabelle's as opposite as opposite can be. She's got dark black hair, small almond shape eyes and, as you can imagine, is not as curvaceous as her Elder Tale counterpart. She isn't very fit, kind of skinny, and mostly stayed in the comfort of her room and wears the comfy clothes unless forced out. You know, when she has the time to do so. With all that rigorous coursework and stuff. Obviously, she plays Xaireal to not be herself. Tough how that turned out. Although Annabelle feels as though she likes Xaireal's appearance more than she does her own - maybe it's because she created it herself. | Personality Charismatic - Xaireal is very charismatic. She can use words and wit to charm others into believing in her cause, so to speak. And even so, she almost emanates with confidence - she trusts in her abilities and capabilities as a leader, and makes her opinions known to others. It’s not only the way that she presents her ideas, but it’s the way that she dresses, the way she convinces other that she’s better than them but in a way that doesn’t undermine their abilities or talents either. She is able to inspire and invigorate others, which in turn helps her accomplish things she otherwise cannot do alone. Strategic - After playing Elder Tale for a while now, Xai is able to think through situations and make tactics. She’s able to break down specific moments in a crisis as well as making sure she is carrying out the challenges of a bigger plan. She examines every angle of a problem, and doesn’t just solve issues that occur in the now, but also every consequence that comes with the problem so that she is able to move forward. Resolute - She strives to achieve her goals, and woah does she do it. Once she’s set her path on something, Xaireal does not stop until it’s done. It kind of goes in both ways - in her favor and not in her favor. Which yes, this means that she’s determined and will get things done quickly and without distractions and quickly beat down obstacles. But it also means that she’s stubborn as heck - she won’t go down without a fight, and that means either death or being defeated or even defending a lost cause. She often pushes her own views onto others, trying to win every battle and advocating only their side of things. Impatient - Xai is a quick thinker - she can think on her feet and is able to execute steps of her plan near flawlessly (a wonder why she isn’t an Assassin, but who could resist the allure of summoning the kawaii beasts as a power?). The problem with this is that not everyone can keep up with the high paced speed that is her mind, and to make it worse, she can’t tolerate it at all. Perhaps it’s that quick thinking of her’s, but she jumps to conclusions about people who take too long doing pretty much anything - that they aren’t so devoted, they’re disinterested, or they’re just plain stupid. Not exactly the shining moment of leadership there. Arrogant - She’s amazing, she’s awesome, she’s important, and people just can’t live without her - or so, that’s how Xai’s always thought of herself. Not to say she doesn’t respect others - she does, it’s just people who are most like her. Everyone else can just go, you know, clean her shoes or something. That’s all they’re good for anyways. She can be quite overbearing, and honestly it’s probably better to yield to her anyways. Because she’d argue the balls off of anyone who tries to out-logic her, as can be seen with her overwhelming stubbornness. Ruthless - She’s obsessed with efficiency and her ability to be rational that she can oftentimes be very insensitive to other people when pursuing her own interests. This is especially prevalent when she’s dismissing personal circumstances and sensitivities of someone else, calling it irrational and irrelevant to the situation. While she is good at smoothing over things with her own words, there are some times where she can be very uncaring towards other people. She likes to call it ‘professionalism’ but it really just isn’t. She can be quite the mean person she wants to. It makes great intimidation methods (although sometimes she really means it). What Xaireal is to Annabelle is an outlet for all the traits she can’t reveal in real life. Most people would see her as a shy, introverted girl who only studies, studies, and studies more. And perhaps that was what she was before Elder Tale trapped her. But after roleplaying on Elder Tale and adopting Xaireal’s personality as her own, Annabelle found that it was more than easier to slip into that persona than she originally thought. What most people think is acting from Xai’s part is actually in part her just being Annabelle. The whole demure, shy, and innocent women really does work on people who request her... services. But at the same time, it is just a bit of acting. Imagine that, it became acting for her to be like she used to. |

Biography
Annabelle isn’t her real name - not according to her parents, anyways. It’s always Yalin this or Yalin that. But it was officially the name she went by when she was dealing with English speakers. While she grew up in China, she learned a fair bit of English and was proficient at it as can be, although she still prefered her native tongue to it.
Point is, she was born and raised in China. It’s not exactly bad, you know, when you overlook all the pollution and the rigorous studying and the all around constant pushing for the best grades ever. It’s not exactly subtle either, with how her parents acted like she had to be their shining jewel or whatever, something to make her family proud.
It’s not like she really minded much anyways. They left her well alone, actually. She may not have been the shining boy of their dreams, but she was very capable and smart when left to her own devices. Her mother didn’t work much, she stayed home and played the stock market mostly. Her father was a businessman - a work she didn’t bother to ask about and he didn’t talk about anyways. She really was a mother’s girl, given the time she spent with her mother when her father wasn’t home.
Not that she spent that much time with her parents, anyways. She used most of her time studying, anyways, cooped up in her room. She rarely went out with friends, she had little of them and most were doing the same as her. Studying for the upcoming test or, have at it, doing it for fun. She wasn’t one of those people, but she related to them, at the very least. She knew there was joy in learning, she just didn’t really have that joy. In fact, she would rather immerse herself in video games, as her guy friends would all recommend her. Quickly she found herself liking them - liking them much more than her schoolwork, which would lead to her downward spiral from good studying habits into the world of... stress and last-minute assignments. It then spurred on the cycle of being so stressed out because of this work she’s piled on herself. And then she goes to video games because they’re a stress relief. And then the cycle just continues, on and on and on.
Not to mention she also started watching anime too. It was distraction after distraction after distraction. Barely scraped by her classes with a feasible grade to her parents (which to say, is a pretty miraculous feat on her part with how much they expected out of her). And still somehow she managed on for a great deal with this, relying on her intellect to her her through things. It probably would’ve been easier to use it in time management skills, but well, what happened was what happened.
Somehow they got it in their heads that it was an absolutely amazing idea to send her off to boarding school. Annabelle wasn’t exactly opposed to the idea either, but she still felt as though her parents were, how do you say, getting rid of her. She shared the same fate as many girls that she roomed with - not that she minded, of course. It was during these particular years that she had certains trysts. Perhaps it was because they were young girls willing to experiment or what, but they had always been short-lived and frankly harmless to her.
Annabelle was never scared of punishment for getting caught, although after a few close counters and an unfortunate case of witnessing someone actually have to face the punishment, she kind of swore off girls for a little while and got her head back in line - that is, with “studying” and all. Thank goodness for “limited” internet and her laptop. She discovered the wonders of proxies and VPNs, and in turn the wonders of MMO gaming.
Within days she was well versed in the more... vulgar side of the English language and soon enough she was known for her rather angry mouth. She didn’t use this new-found swearing in her normal language, but then again nothing really blew her top off as idiotic MMO players that would go left instead of right, or fire off the wrong skill, or something. And then when people caught wind that she was female, oh it was absolutely horrendous. She stuck to not talking and swearing in the chats. She’d be lying if playing these games didn’t improve her English - they did, just not in proper English.
Only downside was the curfews. With roommates and constant curfew checks, she couldn’t very well stay up to play it, and with classes primarily taking up her time... let’s just say that her passion for MMO was only enjoyed on rare occasions when she skipped study hall. She’d hop on, do her dailies, and it seemed like in no time she was forced off once again. Not even to do special events. It was on and off frustration for her, with schoolwork and social life and really anything.
It got a lot better in college. Less curfew, more boys (that was important) but still the odd feeling lingered that she was being left to fend for herself, abandoned by her parents because she hardly saw them again. It wasn’t true, she knew that much, it was just the way they were. And honestly, she would probably be the same way. Her parents weren’t much for talking, and neither was she, the awkwardness almost suffocating under their small talk. Sure, they loved each other very much, but there was only so much silence the three of them could take. And her father was always off on his business trips, her mother always at home doing who know’s what, probably cooking or online stock trading.
Given the accumulated wealth of her parents, Annabelle did live a quasi-life of privilege and as such lived a life of blissful ignorance. She was able to travel a great deal, with and without her parents. As such she’s visited a few places outside of the Republic of China. London was one. New York another. Korea, Japan, Italy, her repertoire was kind of impressive for someone her age. By the age of twenty she knew that she wanted to transfer herself to another country that was not China, maybe move out, but knowing the government that she resided in, she was at a very high risk of becoming an immigrant.
Still didn’t stop her from dreaming of education elsewhere. Not that China’s education was any bad, she just didn’t want to live there. She wanted clear blue skies and vibrant scenery to look out into - not just grey fog and smelly air. It had only gotten worse over the years in which she grew up. At this rate, Annabelle was feeling trapped, suffocating, figuratively and a little literally. Her escape was basically MMOs and schoolwork, less on the schoolwork and more on the Massively Multiplayer Online games.
Unfortunately she never did accomplish that dream. She had bought the Unfounded Kingdom expansion to one of the games she played, found it kind of interesting actually. She made an entirely new character based on an idealized character and then...
And then it became her. Good grief. She had been less than professional in the fact that when she realized she was trapped in the game (kind of a dead obvious thing to notice when, instead of playing on her PC she was suddenly playing in an immersive world), she had no friends to build on, she was unfamiliar with the server. From what she knew, it was the UK due to the HalfGAIA project, but she knew nothing of it. No, Londinium was confusing for her, and her voice was thickly accented to the point that some people couldn’t even understand her (she had kept to mostly typing, and her English was far from perfect). She had gotten by with some nice players who were willing to wait for her to write in English. The rest she had gotten by with listening to other people.
She was struck by a genius idea (well, she thought it was genius now, but at the time she had pegged it as desperation) a couple days after the Catastrophe to actually use her roleplaying class, especially since she was kind of getting out of money here since she was afraid of even traveling out into the wilds and accidentally getting killed. While she had a strategic mindset, she was not about to go and try to level up like crazy - she had gotten killed once or twice in an MMO and had lived the rue the day. Now she was not so certain, as this whole being transported into a world that was not her own was not normal. It was some sort of phenomenon, but she was not so ballsy as to take risks. So she decided to offer her services. It was roleplaying, after all. Mostly, for the record.
When it was revealed that there was little to worry about concerning death, she figured she’d stay and make a permanent residence here. She doesn’t work days, plus she had established some very good ties that would make her pharmaceutical abilities quite useful. All in all she was pretty content to laze about on Elder Tale, making a tidy profit and enjoying drinks and snacks at the local cafe. And the chef there too was very good, in more ways than just cooking.

EQUIPMENT
Left Arm Starter Whip: A starter weapon designed for novice adventurers, made out of cheap leather. It is well-balanced and easy to use but doesn’t hit particularly hard at all. You probably should get this replaced as soon as you can. (Totally kinky by the way.) | Armor Starter Cloth Armor: A basic set of cloth armor made from cheap fabric. They are not really protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it. | Right Arm Starter Hex Doll: A possessed doll with needles set. Piercing its body with a needle sends a thin projectile that is aimed toward the target's corresponding body part. It has a range of 2 meters. In exchange for this accuracy, it is a rather weak attack. |

CLASS SKILLS
Main Class: Summoner
Death Scythe: An attack that allows the summoned Spirit-type Follower to attack physical targets while inflicting poison damage and slight defense debuffs on contact. Alternately, if no Spirit-type Follower is currently active, this skill summons one of these Followers for a split second in order to deliver a single arc-shaped horizontal slash in front of the user, without any other effects. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds, a duration of 60 seconds, and a cooldown time of 75 seconds. If it is used without an active Spirit-type Follower, the cooldown time becomes 15 seconds instead.
Summon Follower - Carbuncle: Beast-type Light elemental familiar. A beast-like summoning companion centered around a ruby core. Completely powerless in terms of physical attacks, but has the capability to shoot rays from the ruby core. Also has the ability to cut off barriers and heal the summoner or another target. Resembles a combination of a fox and rabit with a ruby on the forehead. Carbuncle's personality type is Friendly toward its Summoner and Wary toward all enemies. This follower takes 2 seconds of cast time to summon.
Summon Follower - Phantom: Spirit-type Darkness elemental follower. The Summoner calls forth a ghost-like servant that has low attack power but high evasion and magic resistance. This entity has a number of forms but usually appears as a miniature reaper-like creature with a violet cloak-like body and a simplified skull-like face. It is effective for diverting attention and performing recon duties. Phantom's personality type is Docile toward its Summoner and Curious toward all enemies. This follower takes 2 seconds of cast time to summon.
Roleplay Class: Courtesan
Allure: A toggle skill that can be used anytime in a conversation with People of the Land. It allows the Courtesan to smooth over any mistakes and retain the target's attention. Often, this skill can also be used to obtain information that would otherwise require long interrogation. Allure's effect scales with the Courtesan's subclass level, becoming more effective at higher levels.
Crafting Class: Pharmacist
Toxicity Tolerance: Pharmacists have developed a certain resistance around drugs. This skill can be toggled to make a pharmacist immune to status debuffs caused by potions. Additionally, they passively recover twice as fast from poison status effects.
