There are areas, such as his neck and ears, which are black in color. He’s six and a quarter feet tall with a lean build about him. He has very well defined cheek bones that are even noticeable despite the fact that he is a Were-cat. Penumbro’s jaw line isn’t as defined, however, giving his face an overall rounded look to it. Penumbro has an enlarged canine on the right side of his mouth that shows out a little, even when his mouth is closed. His eyelashes are thick, which contrast with his thin black eye brows. Penumbro’s nose is pink with a small dot of black in the center almost as if it pinpointed the exact middle of his face. The fur around Penumbro’s ears was as ruffled as Katsuo’s hair was in real life. His upper body was not too well defined, with exceptions to his arms and shoulders, due to constant activity with them in the past. His legs were also well defined due to activity but these were defined more so than his arms as he was always hiking with his younger siblings during breaks from high school. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"] When people first see Penumbro, they probably notice his smile, white eyes, or the fact that he’s part cat. When this occurs, however, Penumbro will be the first person to crack a joke about how hard it is to keep food out of his whiskers. Penumbro is a kind and caring person who will be there for anyone who befriend him when they need him. He does however; value the interests of his older sister and roommate above all others, as he is aware that the rest of these people, he’s never met before. While normally a cheerful joker, Penumbro is quick to becoming serious when the lives of friends come into question. He will spare no quarter for those who have proven they mean him or his friends harm. Penumbro can also be very relaxed, almost to a fault in which if he doesn’t think a situation is worth his time getting all riled up over, he’ll opt to simply continue what he was doing instead of helping. Unless combat is completely necessary to reach his goals, Penumbro would prefer people talk things over. Penumbro doesn’t seem to mind too much he’s trapped in the game, as he sees it as another grand adventure in life. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"] Katsuo Hakkai was born the second of 4 children into an upper middle class family. His father was very well respected in the business world and supported his family as the head of a gaming corporation. His mother stayed at home and took care of Katsuo and his little brother and sister Katsuo and his older sister Suiren were raised to protect his younger siblings from harm, especially his little twin brother and sister. He took pride in his job, because his father stressed the importance of sticking together as a family. He took this teaching to heart, and would always play with his younger siblings to help out his mother. Katsuo did very well in school, much to the pride of his parents. He aced most of his tests and quizzes, and graduated high in his graduating class. He wasn't a nerd about it though, in fact most of the time he blew off studying to wander around the neighborhood with his brother and sisters on imaginary adventures, or to play MMO’s. After graduating high school, Katsuo’s father asked him which college he would like to attend. Katsuo didn’t hesitate when he told his father he wanted to attend the University his sister Suiren attended in England. Previous to his graduation, Suiren had returned to visit home, and while she was there, she had told Katsuo about the wonders of her University. The tales of wonder appealed to Katsuo’s adventurous side, so he knew that was where he wanted to go. Once he was at the University, Suiren showed him to his dorm, where he befriended his roommate; a sophomore named Desmond Laine. Desmond and Katsuo got along for the most part due to the fact they both enjoyed video games. Due to a new expansion coming out, Katsuo decided that he would try out a game called Elder Tale with his sister and roommate. It is activated by shaking the musical instrument for a few seconds while focusing one's gaze on a target. An enemy hit by the musical instrument at this moment is left highly disoriented. [attr="class","skill"]Speed Sword Elude: A lively song that makes one want to rush into battle. This tune causes all nearby party members' attack speeds to rise. [attr="class","skill"]Elegant Act : Attack skill | An elegant attack that comes from a beautiful dance. As an attack it is average but upon use, it boosts the bard's evasion rate for a certain period of time so it is popular among front-line bards as it increases their survivability. One peculiarity about this skill is that the attack motions and dance are rather elaborate. When using a sword, it is like a sword dance, if a spear it will be used as a baton constantly twirling round and round at high speeds. There are different motions for every kind of weapon. The motions for the giant scythe would be to take the huge weapon and to spin it around like one would a pencil and is quite the sight to behold. [attr="class","skill"]Marksmanship:Passive skill. The hunter's bow damage passively increases by 10% to all monsters and 20% to beast-type monsters. Additionally, if the Hunter's main class would normally penalize them from using bows, this skill allows them to use bows without penalty. [attr="class","skill"]Transmutation: Alchemists are able to use Magitech in battle without any penalties based on their main class. Also a toggle skill. Through their abilities in creating efficient Magitech, all costs for using Magitech are halved for the Alchemist. Their research also give them an advantage in fighting Artificial Life and deal an additional 10% damage. [attr="class","skill"]Ballad of the Gullible Snail: Curse song, Special attack skill, Movement hindrance | An offensive curse song that deals minor damage and gives a slow effect to target enemy and others around it. The damage radius is unexpectedly large and it can slow a group of 5-6. However as this move generates a lot of hate if used carelessly, will result in the enemies shifting target from the tank to you. On the other hand in situations where this is not a concern like in solo play or a party without tanks, it is possible to drag the enemies around with "Ballad of the gullible snail" and wear them down with ranged attacks. It seems there are anecdotes of wearing down a high level boss with only the ballad. On use a distorted spiral effect will appear around the target. [attr="class","h3"]Equipment [attr="class","b2"] [attr="class","skill"]Armor: Starter Leather Armor. A basic set of soft leather armor made from cheap leather. They are not really protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it. [attr="class","skill"]Left Hand: Starter Long Bow: A starter weapon designed for novice adventurers, made out of cheap wood. It is well-balanced and easy to use but doesn’t hit particularly hard at all. You probably should get this replaced as soon as you can. [attr="class","skill"]Right Hand: Beginner’s Violin: A cheap little instrument for aspiring musicians and novice bards, made out of cheap materials. They don’t really play too well, but at least you can play something [attr="class","skill"]Ammo: Wooden Arrow: A basic wooden arrow. Not really strong, but cheap and can be easily mass produced.
