GAME GENDER: Male
AGE: 20

FACE-CLAIM: Original Character, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
PLAYED BY: Faen
RACE: Human
FACTION: Adventurer
Appearance (http://i.imgur.com/hl13X0E.png) Retsu is a rather sturdily built human, standing at 6 feet tall about two heads taller than he was in real life, causing him to be a bit less sure-footed at times. His eyes are sharp and focused, leading some to think he has a problem relaxing, whereas that's one of his favorite things to do. There's a small clover shaped birthmark on his right clavicle, though it's usually hidden by any sort of collar on clothing. He has little to no hair located on his body, save for the wavy blue hair that graces his head and jawline. If he isn't expecting to do much a certain day, he'll usually not bother keeping his hair style as it is and go around with his bed head. He does not do anything fancy with it if he's attending special events, as it's too much work to get it to do anything other than his current style. If he has a choice in the matter, he prefers to wear dark blues and reds in his clothing in order to match his hair color. This isn't the case in the real life however, as he has brown hair with blue streaks that he keeps at shoulder length. He's usually donning character tees from various MMO's he plays, as well as his glasses with dark red frames. | Personality Retsu is a very introverted person due to a high school life full of teasing and he warms up to people at different intervals, usually basing it off how friendly or dependable they are. He has the mindset that a few close relationships trumps many shallow ones. When it comes to interacting with others, Retsu usually thinks over what he has to say, and will often try and control the pace of the conversation he's having more times than not. He is respectful of others' rights to speak, however, and is more than happy to be a "listener" of sorts to those whose company he has grown accustomed to. In combat he's very much the same, as he tries to control the pace of the battle in order to make sure no one makes any costly mistakes, but will take orders from those who have earned his respect. Retsu is very protective of those that he would call a friend, and isn't above putting their well being over his. When one of his friend's lives is in danger, Retsu is willing to do whatever it takes to see them through the trial as unhurt as possible. Retsu believes that there should always be a battle plan, and that it should be rather flexible in case things go horribly wrong. Retsu believes all people are honest until they prove him wrong, in which case he is very unwilling to believe much of what the person has to offer in terms of conversation and promises, he'll also tend to avoid those that have proven their dishonesty all together. In larger groups Retsu prefers to work with people he knows if possible. He'll act in the best interests of his friends and himself first and foremost... the others' needs can come after. Retsu isn't too concerned with being the strongest Samurai in the game, he simply works hard to be one of the more well respected ones. One of the Samurai that people would call upon should they need aid. He enjoys friendly wagers and competitions though, getting really competitive in things that don't really matter, just to keep things interesting. Retsu's weaknesses are his over protectiveness in regards to his friends and his tendency to tunnel vision |

Biography
Faen was born to a Japanese mother and English father in Osaka on July 21st, 1997. When he was the age of five, he and his family moved to his father's hometown of Wales where they live in a rather middle class house, with a decent income from his Father's work as an English teacher and his mother's work as a bank teller.
Faen's mother taught him how to speak and write in Japanese, believing it would be both a valuable skill for him as he got older and necessary due to his heritage. At first Faen had a hard time picking up the writing aspect, but with his mother's advice and persistence, he could just as easily write an essay in Japanese as he could in English by the time he was 12.
All throughout his elementary and middle school years, Faen was treated well by all of his classmates, and highly regarded by his teachers. Faen maintained high marks in all of his classes, the lowest being a B in science. Faen enjoyed his english classes the most, especially when there were creative writing sessions. Faen was always writing small short stories in his spare time, living out his fantasies through pen and paper.
However, when Faen hit high school, people started picking on him because his eyes were slightly slanted upwards due to his Japanese heritage. It was a shock to him that people would actually make fun of him based on something he couldn't control, but he remained silent to all of the goads, seeking solace in the creative writing club at his school, where he made several friends who had the same drive for writing that he did.
Punishment for things he couldn't control didn't go away though, as he was often bullied by students who did poorly in his father's class and sought to take it out on him. This frustrated Faen and caused him to drift further from the real world and more towards the online one. There, in the MMO's he played, he could live out his fantasy life and get away from all the teasing and homework that came with his school life. There, he could just be himself.
Around the start of his senior year, Faen heard about a game called Elder Tale, and decided to give it a try, often playing with a couple of friends from his creative writing club. Throughout his senior year, Faen played a bard, as he never had any musical talent himself and he enjoyed the support he could give to his comrades through the songs.
But after graduation, his group of friends all moved on with their lives and left Faen alone, just in time for the new expansion, The Novasphere Pioneers. Deciding that a fresh start was what he needed, Faen rerolled into a Samurai in hopes that he's irreplaceable role as a tank would eventually lead him to a new group of friends.
When the Catastrophe happened and Faen woke up on the ground inside of the game, he panicked for a few minutes before one undeniable truth came to him.
He could finally live the life he was always writing about. That he would actually be the author of his own journey.

CLASS SKILLS
Main Class: Samurai
Aura Saber: Swings the weapon around the user's body in a faint aura, then crashes it down upon the enemy. Multiple enemies can be struck by this attack by they are adjacent to the target. This skill increases targets' aggro on the user more than that of a regular attack. Ace Move: Kabuto-wari (Helm Splitter): Chain 1. Starts or resets the current Chain. Kabutowari is a simple technique that involves a quick forward charge followed by a vertical slash aiming to cut down on the target's head. Bushido: Iaido (Art of the Draw): Passive. Samurai have a honed and disciplined mind.
