Appearance Arkavius is the fickle sort of person who changes his base appearance from week to week. Though generally happy with his base model, it’s common for him to ‘tweak’ it in minor ways. A different hair style, an attempted theme, cowboy boots: all seemingly random decisions made in appearance, each with their own varying degree of effectiveness. His dress habits are a different story. He’ll make an active effort to wear the most ridiculous outfits on the off chance that one accessory or article among them will look half-decent. The most generous thing said of his wardrobe has been that it resembles high fashion from another planet(s). As all persons of ritual do, he has a number of strange tattoos littering his body. None of them are visible while wearing normal clothing. | Personality Arkavius is easily bored. A blessing and a curse, it’s this aspect that has led to his every triumph and defeat. For it, he has a long list of stories to tell. Were he in his original body, he’d even have some scars to show without having to be prompted. This does not mean that he has a short attention span. In fact, he has an adjacent tendency to become enthralled with whatever has piqued his interest at the moment. It’s moreso that Arkavius feels the need to be stepping on new ground as often as possible. This sometimes translates to pursuing mysterious things. Other times, it amounts to exploring something’s mechanical complexity. He does this in such a way that improving his skill remains rewarding long after its mystique has faded. In short, adventure is his bread and butter. So long as the trip doesn’t seem boring, he’ll be the first to set off. Arkavius also enjoys people. Comparable to new experiences, he’s found that each person has their own story to tell. It seems impossible that any person has the same life-experience as another even if they share a similar background. He loves piecing together why people are a certain way with regard to what they’ve been through. To that end, he loves listening to people despite how ignorant or crazy they might be. One of the few things he can’t stand is egocentrism. People who are so wrapped up in their own life that they can’t appreciate what’s going on around them frustrate him to no end. While he can appreciate that people’s differing values tell different stories, those concerned with only themselves are so bland that he can’t bring himself to care. Just as annoying are people who aren’t honest with themselves. Ark, who has a need to be walking forward, sees dishonesty to oneself as synonymous with taking steps backwards. This may be why he has a preference towards animals. Impulsive as he is, Arkavius quickly takes to animals as they seem to pick up on his mannerisms. It might be that his open feelings invite company. Likelier still is that simple creatures find it easy to understand one another. |

Biography
Mediocrity has been the theme of Arkavius’s life. Blessed with the gift of common sense, he was able to breeze through grammar school with little effort. Note-taking was an arbitrary practice; so long as he paid attention to the lecture, he could adequately pass any examination. Given his sloppy methods, however, his marks were never stellar. That he could never be an ‘A’ student brought him no turmoil.
To Arkavius, life was about finding an optimal balance between minimal work and maximum leisure time. What else is there, he would ask after lamenting that he had been born too late to explore the world yet too early to travel the stars. The world was a rational, quantifiable, and predictable place. For it, Arkavius periodically contemplated suicide. If he could see it playing out years ahead in advance, then he felt no compulsion to go through the motions if not for his friends and family.
After finishing high school, he would mimic his friends and go to college. It was during this time that his effort levels increased while his leisure time plummeted. He hated this. There was little he could do other than spend what little time availed in the distraction he had known all his life: video games.
Of course, even those didn’t hold the same thrill they once did. As he aged, games seemed to become easier; the programming was less graceful, mechanics simpler, and plots more predictable. It would eventually reach the point that he became less interested in beating a game than playing under ridiculous pretenses.
Max difficulty on first runs, refusing equipment, picking classes with glaring weaknesses and explosive power: all done in the name of ‘fun’. It happened frequently that it would take him longer than was typical to get through a game due to self-imposed difficulty . He didn’t hate it. He just wished that he didn’t have to do it.
Then came the Apocalypse.
Previously, Elder Tale had been no different than any other escape he used to burn away the hours. When the magnitude of the situation set in, he shed tears of joy for his new cage. This was a place to explore and learn about: where he could practice mechanics first hand and immediately see their merits. Needless to say, Ark considers this moment the greatest bit of luck he has ever come into.

CLASS SKILLS
Main Class: Summoner
Summon Follower - Maneater: Plant-type Earth elemental follower. The Maneater is a plant monster that resembles a big venus flytrap with teeth. It has a height of roughly 1 meter initially, gaining in height to 2 meters at Level 30 and 3 meters at Level 60. The flower on its body opens and closes according to its mood and becomes more vibrant as the monster becomes stronger. In addition to their sharp teeth and acidic mouth, they have the ability to extend vines up to 2 meters away to strike or grab onto a weaker enemy. Strong vines upon its lower body allow it some mobility, but it is still one of the slowest summons in terms of movement speed. Maybe you should wheel it around in a cart instead. It's said that the Mayahuel in Savill Flower Grove was once a Maneater minion of a legendary Summoner who disappeared long ago. Maneater's personality is Aloof toward its Summoner and Predatory toward all enemies. This follower takes 2 seconds of cast time to summon.
Summon Follower - Carbuncle: Beast-type Light elemental familiar. A beast-like summoning companion centered around a ruby core. Completely powerless in terms of physical attacks, but has the capability to shoot rays from the ruby core. Also has the ability to cut off barriers and heal the summoner or another target. Resembles a combination of a fox and rabit with a ruby on the forehead. Carbuncle's personality type is Friendly toward its Summoner and Wary toward all enemies. This follower takes 2 seconds of cast time to summon.
Castling: Much as one would protect one's own king by switching its position with a nearby rook in a game of chess, Castling follows a similar convention. It is an emergency skill that instantly switches the places of a Follower and the Summoner. Castling cannot be used in combination with Soul Possession. This skill has a casting time of 1.5 seconds and a cooldown time of 10 seconds.
Roleplay Class: Animal Trainer
Scout: The Animal Trainer attempts to recruit a monster to their cause in order to create a temporary partner. This is often done by approaching the monster without startling or aggravating it. If performed successfully, a tamed monster will fight by the Trainer's side for a few minutes before control is lost and the monster returns to the environment. Certain situations might make this duration last longer or shorter; acts of kindness toward the tamed monster will make it stick around for longer, while excessive demand will make the Trainer quickly lose favor with the monster. Only one monster can be tamed at a time at the early levels.
Crafting Class: Tailor
Needlework: Due to the dexterity from which they perform their tasks, tailors are able to make up for any compromises in their ability. Any dexterity debuffs to a tailor can be recovered from twice as quickly.
