| 533 WORDS None TAGGED Post is up, Enjoy <3 NOTES | Has it been two days already? No, or was it three? He wasn't really keeping track of time, all he knows for sure is that he had been reading books and scrolls since he got here, taking breaks momentarily for meals and potty breaks. It was one of those grand libraries, it had a classic medieval design to it which he liked. The library was rather peaceful, it was as quiet as it can get, a single footstep could be heard clearly on the wooden floor.
He looked up at the shelves containing books and various scrolls arranged neatly on the shelves. He slid a heavy, thick book out of the shelves, "Various Beasts And Where To Find Them", a rather interesting looking book. He sat down on one of the unoccupied chairs and slowly laid the book down on the table, avoiding the creation of noise. The book had a red covering on it with the title's text etched in gold, it's cover also had an image depicting a Rock Golem lifting a huge boulder. He flipped to the book to it's table of contents. It listed various areas, namely; Fields and Forestry, Caverns, Swamps and Marshes, Coastal, Miasma Realms, and Snowfield, each with their respective pages.
He flipped through the pages some more until he reached page one, Fields and Forestry. It it had a different monster each page, enlisting some information about them as well as depicting them in pictures. The first two pages had the Green Slime and the Dull Green Slime, he read through every line and flipped the page again. Each creature varied from strength and had a different category under them. One of the most important category of these creatures to keep in mind is the Field Boss category. Fields and Forestry had three field bosses, namely; The Maledict Mayahuel, Entropic Emet, and Great General Oda Nobunaga. Basically, they are the strongest among all other creatures in an area, something he would surely avoid making contact with for now.
After minutes of reading, he was only able to finish the first chapter of the book, next up, Caverns. It was amusing to find out about the different creatures found in the new world he's living in, it would be very helpful to have this information.
Finally, he finished the book, it took him approximately two hours and thirty minutes to finish that one book. It was also stated in the book that it's only the recorded creatures are enlisted in the book ad that there probably are thousands more to be discovered, this made him think. Would there be fierce fire breathing Dragons? Or maybe even Gods and Demons, who knows really. He closed the book creating a small puff of dust and returned it back to the shelves neatly as it was before.
He looked around for some more interesting reads as he strolled on one of the library aisles. He took a look at some of the book titles as he walked. "Pourtin's Potent Potions", "Tailoring 101", "Genie's Book Of World Records", "Cooking Boar Meat For Dummies", There are so many to choose from, until something finally caught his attention. "Magic, A Brief History"

"A Brief History huh?" He took the book off of the shelf. It was oddly light for such a thick book, weighing like a small bar plastic yet it was a few centimeters thick. He bought it over to the study table, one that is excluded from the others, one that is hidden behind the shelves. He tried to flip the page from the middle, but it won't let him, as it turns out, it wasn't a book at all, much like box made to look like a book, a decoy. He got confused. The cover page was the one that opens up to reveal what's inside the box. There were few pieces of paper in it and a small pocket sized leather notebook with a small button lock on it. The heck is this?, he thought. He first looked at the papers, it was all written in cursive, like it was hastily written by someone in a hurry. Another thing about it is that it has an odd glow on it, something that's surely not normal.
The papers contained what seems to be notes, he wasn't really sure of what for, but it's notes for something for sure. Until it finally made sense to him. It was short noted about the game, some of the writings was even unfinished, whoever wrote this didn't have any time at all. The writing truly was familiar to him, it was the work of someone with the capability of using Mythic Script, causing it to have an odd glow to the text. People wouldn't normally be able to see such writings done with the use of Mythic Script, but as a scribe, he was capable of reading it.
It stated things about the game, Elder Tale, the same game on which he is currently stuck at, stating information before it was even released. It stated all the original Classes, Subclasses, and game mechanics. The part on which it stated things about the game mechanics were unfinished, rather, it ends with the phrase, "NO WAY OUT" in all upper case letters. He was dumbfounded by this discovery. To think that he would stumble upon this kind of information, clearly, the one who wrote this is also another player just like him.
He then proceeded to open the small notebook. It stated something different. Rather than with the use of Mythic Script, it was written in ink, but the difference is, it was written in Ancient text, still, he was capable of reading it with the help of his Scribe subclass. It stated something about the discovery of a new substance, substance that is highly dangerous. It scared Hexell for a bit, he wasn't sure what to think of it, he continued reading.
The text was written in Ancient text, a brief translation is as follows; "The substance is then found out to be called Miasma, a highly dangerous substance known to corrupt those who come into contact with it. Although dangerous, it is capable of granting one with immense power, power that is unknown by many, power that isn't supposed to be found." At this point, Hexell's curiosity was at it's peak. He continued reading through the text. "Those who accept Miasma in them would then be converted into Heretics, a new class found by long exposures of the substance." A new class? Conversion into a Heretic? Truly it is an interesting find.
He then closed the notebook and kept it on his bag, as well as the rest of the papers. Beneath the stacks of papers, there he found a small bottle containing an odd purple smoke. He returned the box after taking whatever there is to take. After returning the box he got back to his seat and examined the bottle, it was labeled, "Substance Sample A"

| 605 WORDS None TAGGED Post is up, Enjoy <3 NOTES | "Substance Sample A", it read on the front, on the back, it read, "Hazardous". Now this, this is what you call an interesting find. He turned the bottle around for a while, observing the eerie dark smoke inside it shift violently as he turn it around. A part of him wants to open the bottle, see how it goes, while the other part of him wants to keep it sealed, do nothing about it. There's something about it that makes him want to open it, something about what he read, his desire for power.
No. He refrained from doing so, instead he had set the bottle aside and place it on his table. He took his bag which was settled on the table right after the organized the papers inside, as he did so, he knocked the bottle off. Surprisingly, it did little to no sound at all. The faint shattering of glass caught the librarian's attention, although disregarded it for it wasn't much of a noise. And that's when it all went down.
The contents of the bottle started dispersing into the air, creating a dark mist around him. He started hearing faint whispers and getting headache, barely making out words like, "Go", "Kill", and "Turn". It was a horrifying experience. He then ran to the bathrooms, hiding inside of one of it's stalls with the dark mist following him around. He started grunting from the pain he's having and started getting nauseous as well. He started to breath deeply and jerking violently. His nails slowly turned into black and his hair slowly turned into white. He opened his eyes, his right started to redden.
"Do not fear for I am here. I'm here to retrieve you, oh corrupted one."
"W-who? Who said that?" He said with a trembling voice. The whispers in his ears are starting to get louder, merging into one single voice. "How pathetic. This is what you've become. You can't even recognize yourself now." An eerie whisper echoed through his head. The ground around him started to shake and shift, slowly cracking away, falling into a dark void. He stood in the middle of darkness, nothing else was around him, no sound, no light, no nothing. A dark figure appeared from the shadows, taking on the shape of his body, a silhouette of himself. "You called me, haven't you?" The shadowy figure got on his back and inched its head to his ears, whispering at him. "W-what? I didn't call for anyone. Who are you? What do you want?"
The figure laughed and placed its hands on his shoulder. Its touch was cold, he shivered upon feeling it. The figure dispersed into the air, passing through him like the cold winter breeze, it started reforming in a few feet in front of him, slowly walking towards him. "You wanted power right? I can grant you some. I can make you stronger." It said as it waved its hand for every word. "You seem troubled. Do you not trust yourself?"
The figure dispersed back into the air, now reforming beside him, leaning at him. "You can become a king! Rule the world! It's what you want right? You make them kneel in your front, obey each and every single one of your orders. You can defeat anyone, make them subdue, bring them under your control, make them your slaves!" He said as he dispersed back into the air, now reforming at his back. "That's not what I want! I didn't ask for that" The figure inched its head a little more closer to his ear. "Still not convinced? See for yourself..."

| 718 WORDS None TAGGED Post is up, Enjoy <3 NOTES | The floor started flipping tile by tile into a grassy green scenery, showing a large castle with a garden containing a wide array of blooming flowers. The figure on his back whispered once again, trying to tempt him. "You see this? This is what you'll get if you let me corrupt you." The view zoomed in, going through the castle's closed doors. Inside the castle was a long hallway, on the end, there he sat on a golden throne, half naked beautiful women scattered around him, touching his skin and kissing his feet. The figure behind him laughed softly, "Even I get jealous."
He stared at the image, is that really him? He's surrounded by these women, a throne and a castle of his own. He must admit, it is tempting seeing these. "But wait! There's more." The view zoomed in once more, going through the throne and into a closed vault. Going through these walls are disorienting, he closed his eyes and rubbed them for a second. As he opened it, piles of gold filled the room. Gold, gems, jewelry, every kind of treasure you can think of is here, stacks upon stacks. "You see all these treasures? All yours, probably even more if you let me corrupt you. So what do you say?" Truly, it is tempting, he can't argue with that. But still, he shouldn't just give in that easily. "It is tempting, but nevertheless, didn't ask for this. No point of you insisting"
"A though customer eh? Lets see... This!" The view changed, the walls, the floor, and the ceiling flipped like tiles, revealing a totally different scenario. It showed him walking on piles of corpses in the ground as he approached to stab one of the still breathing ones on the ground. "You see this? With the power you'll receive from me, you would be strong enough to even kill a whole army by your own." It was a fearsome sight, seeing himself take down a whole army is quite terrifying, yet so pleasing.
To imagine himself have enough power to do that, he would be unbeatable. "No! Why would I even do this kind of thing!? Please! Just leave me alone!" The figure on his back laughed, tapping his shoulders with its cold hands. "You don't want it? To become the strongest among all? Think about it. Think how it would turn the tables around." He's right, he was weak, helpless, treated like garbage by people around him, kicked around like litter on the streets. His view zoomed in once more, going through the fields and into the mountains, until it finally showed a whole kingdom with his command.
The scene showed hundreds of workers, no, slaves being whipped by guards. A large statue of himself stood on the middle of the city, like a giant him, looking down upon his people. What kind of demented world is this? Who would do such thing to these poor people. Behind him, the figure started laughing maniacally. "Look at all these ants! They would all be under your control!" The view then zoomed out, upwards this time, now showing the whole world.
"The whole world would be under your control!" There was something different with the scene, it showed planet earth yet, the land masses are arranged to form a silhouette of his face, the waters were dark and the lands were purple. Why would he even ask for this thing. "Why are you showing these to me!? I would never ask for this! Never in my entire life!" The figure continued laughing as the the view faded back to black. "Still not satisfied? After all those still, you're unsatisfied? Think of it. Think of the great power. Think of the immense strength, the treasure, and don't forget about the ladies."
The held on his shoulders, this is all wrong, why is this happening to him. Why did he have to go and read all those? Why did he ask for knowledge? Why? Surely, this proves that some things are better left unknown. "Well. If you insist. I have just the thing that would surely make you agree." The figure dispersed into the air once more, materializing as a black piece of paper, floating in front of Him. "Let's make a deal, shall we?"

| 510 WORDS None TAGGED Post is up, Enjoy <3 NOTES | The shadowy paper started scribbling down words out of nowhere, the writings glowed as it was written down, written in cursive, just like how his own penmanship would appear. It contained the following;
"This contract would allow the player <HEXELL> to be capable of using the Heretic power once it is agreed upon. The contract would only last or one (1) day starting from the very moment it is agreed upon. Once the contract ends, the usage of the power by the player <HEXELL> would also end unless the following conditions may happen; A. The player <HEXELL> would wish to be given the power permanently or; B. The player <HEXELL> would let the corruption take over. The contract is irrevocable and would only end on the stated time/date if any."
"Wait, wha-" He said as he raised a finger. The paper then dispersed into the air, reforming back into the shadowy figure beside him. "Too flashy? Okay, let's simplify this. Basically, I'll give one day where you'll be able to use the power I'm capable of granting you. After one day, Poof! Power's gone, I'm gone, all back to normal, won't even be bothering you after that. Basically a free sample, y'know? But. If you totally give in into corruption or want to get the power permanently, It's all yours, no other questions asked. Basically the time where I'll be giving you the full package y'know? So. What do you say?"
He scratched his head, thinking how it would work out for him. It won't be bad to try it out, but he's not really sure what this "thing" is capable of doing, he may just be tricking him, waiting for him to bite the bait. "How would I know if you're tricking me or not?" He said as he rubbed his chin.
"Why would I lie to myself? Huh? C'mon, there's nothing to loose." He's right, there is nothing to loose. It's just a day, he's sure to himself that he won't give in that easily. "I know you want it...." Yes. Just a day. Then he'll see what's the fuss about this strong power they're talking about. "Just to make it clear. I'd never ask for this power permanently nor give in to the corruption."
The shadowy figure clapped its hands once as it tilted its head to the left. "Yes! Yes! I understand. Splendid! Another satisfied customer." The figure said happily as it clapped its hands. "I'll never give in." A bright flash of light blinded him, his body was slumped at the floor, where is he? How did he even get here? After a bit more observation he finally knew where he was. he's underground, far away from where he initially was. "Did I- How'd- Is that a dream or what? Wha-" He looked at his hands, showing his black nails, clearly, it's not a dream at all.
He got back up as fast as he can. Now. With his new found powers.
"You'll never give in? That's what all Heretics say at the start."
