The last thing she remembered was finishing her character creation, right after she told her grandmother she was going to finish off the small amount of homework she had afterwards. Well, that wasn’t going to happen now. Her surroundings, although similar to London, where she had lived for most of her life, had a kind of… dystopian feel? Apocalyptic? Regardless, it was rather odd. Where was she? If London had changed to such a state in a matter of hours, she certainly would have recalled hearing about it within minutes.
Misaki began to survey her surroundings, moving her head left and right before realizing her attire, was that of her character- then again, the only difference they shared was clothing and the fact that one held weaponry, which she did. An addition to her clothing was a belt, one that was part of her clothing, the right side holding a sheathed rapier while the left had a wand, hidden in a small leather pouch, the size of the wand.
“This… Has to be a dream. Ending up in the world of a video game, it just sounds too much like science-fiction…” Misaki mumbled to herself, a slight laugh escaping her lips after she spoke. To make sure she wasn’t sleeping, she pinched her arm, feeling a small amount of pain. Yup, it was real.
“I still don’t understand how this is possible, but I guess I have to believe it now, I am standing here right now.” She sighed a little. What was she going to do now? She could barely the last time she played an MMO, all she remembered was that she was completely terrible at it. It would be interesting to see if she could figure out how to fight too, despite the fact that the class she chose was more healing-based. Figuring out how to defend herself against monsters- if she decided to leave this city or whatever to level up- would be helpful, especially if she couldn’t find anyone to fight against enemies with.

There was no warning, no clue as to what happened, and he had no idea what he was doing before this happened. But he was now suddenly standing in a darkened alley way. The walls of the two buildings on either side of him were very weathered and had creeping vines with moss caked into the mortar. The ground was stony with grass growing between the rocks and the air smelled green, if the smell of air even could smell like a color. It smelled like nature. There was no smell of car exhaust fumes that would betray this place to be a city, but where was he if not a city? What he could see outside of the alley, even more destroyed buildings and weathered streets.
On him was an odd type of clothing, some kind of robe, but thicker than any regular shirt he'd worn. In his right hand, a spear thing. On his left waist was a whip coiled and held in place by a thin rope that was tied around his belt. He gripped the spear tight and used his left hand to feel his face and body. This wasn't him. There was more meat on these bones than his real body. He lifted his foot and took a step forward. He was higher off the ground than normal, too. By a significant amount. He would need to watch his step.
Something caught his attention, something was making a groaning sound behind him. He turned. What he saw behind him was impossible. Or should have been impossible. It was the character of the bot he was testing for the release of the new UK server of Elder Tale. Green hair, red eyes, donned in heavy plate and with two shields strapped her back. There was no doubt to be made now. Somehow the game became reality. It makes sense why they're in an alley now. To stay out of sight while testing her programming. So, wait, if he is here does that mean he's his own test character now?
She started moaning a bit more and her face was turning red. She was a bot, an AI. But now here she was in a human body. She didn't know how to breathe! "Open your mouth! Breath! Damn it!" There was no time to teach a child how to breath, he needed to get air in her lung now. He moved closer to her, ripped off her helmet, and put his lips to hers, forcing his breath into her lungs. It was a short exchange, he moved to catch her if she fell, and fall she did. She forced the air he gave her out of her lungs and forced more back in. It was very labored as she had never done this before. He lowered her to the ground and knelt beside her, supporting her back so she wouldn't fall over completely. "That's it, keep breathing. You're doing good."
So he was now in the game? With his bot? Is this punishment for all his gold farming and scripting? He's now got, what is essentially, a child who just took her first breaths in this new world. Or was she a child? Just how much did she know? Could she speak? He did build an extensive speech recognition system and voice synthesizer to make her seem real when confronted while playing. Could she speak? Could she understand? "Do you understand me? If you can understand me, nod." He looked into her eyes, darting around, then focusing on his, then she simply nodded. That was step one. Step two, dictionary. "I want you to define the word 'Music'."
Cabbage.
FAUCKING CABBAGE. That joke was now immediately old. It was a bit of debug script he programmed into the bot to respond with 'Cabbage' if the dictionary is not found. Joke from a bug in a game a long time ago and it was his bright idea to add that to his code.
"Define 'Cabbage'."
Cabbage.
Of course she can't define anything. The dictionary was a file on his computer, not the program itself. She was limited to what was in the program, not what the program was capable of accessing.
"Say 'Music'."
Music.
Well, at least she could say something other than 'cabbage'.
"Listen, I want you to forget something. I am not sure how well this will work. Think about what you were trying to do when you attempted to define a word. Forget the method you were trying to use." This was probably not going to work.
Cabbage. Yeah, that wasn't going to work.
He stood up. Sitting in the alley wasn't going to help him figure out what was going on. He needed to find someone else. But he couldn't leave this girl alone now, she wouldn't last long with what little she could do or communicate. He held out his hand for her. "Grab my hand." He hoisted her up to her feet, picked up her helmet and put it back on her head. "Follow me." Hopefully these simple commands would be understood. If that fails, he hoped she would see him like a bird sees its mother. First thing they see, they are attached like glue. He held the spear in his right hand again, after dropping it while trying to figure the bot girl out. Exiting the alley, he turned his attention to a girl nearby with light brown hair and a sword at her waist. An NPC or someone like him?
"Hello, girl?" He spoke to get her attention. His Midwestern American accent will probably be the first thing she would notice about him, the next being the girl in his stead. "Hey, any idea what's going on? Last thing I remember I was playing the game with my daughter and the next we're now in our characters' bodies. This got something to do with aliens or something? Where are we?" He will call Ceidi his daughter for now, it will depend on what happens. If he can teach her to speak like a human later on or if she is set in stone to say cabbage for the rest of her time here. He may need to make the decision to get rid of her if sh... Something was pressing against his back and he felt armored arms wrap around his waist. She understood that? "Anyway... What'dya know?"

Sensation. Instincts. Light. Sound. Wetness in my mouth. What is my? I am heavy, hot sensation. Being in front, tall. Who... what? What am I? What is this feeling? It hurts, can't think clear. Chest tight. Light head. Sound. Voice. My voice? What is voice? Yes, I have voice. My creator gave me a voice. I can think, but not well. Why does my chest hurt so much? My face feels hot.
My voice makes another sound, mouth opened, chest still hurts. Can feel the blood in my veins pounding against my temples. The figure in front of me turned around with eyes wide. He yelled something at me, only serving to frighten me before he pulled off whatever was on my head and forced air down my throat. Something in my chest expanded and something in my stomach ached. I forced whatever he did to me out of my chest, only to suck in air myself. My headache was subsiding, but now I was sitting on the ground. I forced the new air out and sucked more air back into my mouth. It felt good. He said a word before. Breath?
Further communication from Ceidi's perspective will be done in the third person.
She looked up to the man who had helped her learn how to breathe. She asked her a simple question, if she understood him, to nod. And she did. She had no reason not to, of course. She knew nothing of her situation at the moment, not even what she was.
He asked her to define a word. She sat there, thinking for a moment before the words 'dictionary not found' flashed into her head and she proceeded to open her mouth and say, "Cabbage."
He asked her to define cabbage. All she could respond with was, "Cabbage." He asked her to say 'Music', and so she did, "Music."
He asked her to do something else. She could only understand a few words that he was saying, every call she made to figure out what some of his words were that she couldn't understand was returned with 'dictionary not found.' After he finished talking, she just spoke, "Cabbage."
He looked disappointed. She didn't understand what else she could have done. He held his hand down for her and told her, in simple words she understood, to grab him. She did so and felt his strength lift her to her feet. She felt the weight on her legs again, but had the strength to hold herself up. He put the metal thing he took off her head back on her head and gave her another simple instruction. Follow. So she would. She had no reason not to.
They walked into the larger area and the man started talking to another person. The words 'my daughter' hit something in her and she pressed up against the man and wrapped her arms around his waist. Her chest felt odd, but not like it had when she didn't know how to breathe. This was something different. She didn't want to lose this man...

Upon hearing someone speak to her, she turned around, raising an eyebrow slightly. Misaki glanced at the older male for a moment, instantly making note of his accent. She could tell it was American, yet she didn’t have the slightest idea where from, she had never been there, after all. She then looked to the smaller girl next to him, unless she had purposely made her Avatar smaller upon character creation, she seemed to be younger than anyone she had seen within the game, perhaps younger than the age restriction or whatever it was- anyway, she seemed as if she was a child, to make a long story short.
“Do I have any idea what’s going on?” Misaki repeated. Ah, so she was his daughter? That did make quite a bit of sense, she would worry about that later.
“Hmm… No, not at all. All I was doing was finishing character creation for my Avatar, then I practically blinked and I ended up here,” She paused, trying to recall anything else that seemed significant.
“And based on the scenery, I can say that we’re standing in London- or to be a little more specific, Elder Tale’s version of it. I mean, London was never this quiet.” If they were actually standing in the middle of the city, it would be rather crowded, a number of fights would probably break out from people bumping into other people to. But then again, what she said before was only a mere assumption, but she had a feeling that she was most likely correct.

Kuro thinking about the last few hours of his life and what has became of it. He receantly found a multiplayer game in which he could do whatever he wanted: The Elder Tale. He's seen some MMORPGs before, but none acctually interested him, but for some reason Elder Tale completely "swallowed" him.... " Heh.... "swallowed"... I guess that's what happened to me." As he looked around him, he figured out that the city he is in is definitely "London" from the game, he tried to think about the last moments from the real world he remembered, but the last thing that he remebered was him starting the Elder Tale and suddenly apearing in this building, which looks like it is on the merge of collapse. " I guess I should find out, if anyone else got "swallowed" by this game as I did." While saying that, he stood up and tried to walk outside the building. The new weight and height were something to get used to... and that prooved to be true at the staris, as Kuro fell down after stepping on the 3rd step and then rolling down to the ground level. " AHH! My back.... god-frickin' damn it! The god damn crosswbow... well at least it didn't break...." After few moments of "pulling himself back together", he decided that he should find someone, who could tell him what the hell is going on. Not that he wanted to talk to them, but he probably should figure out what the hell is going on. After a while of walking, he got a hang of it and started running and after a while even tried a few jumps... it still wasn't flawless, but it was a start. A few moments later he noticed two.... no three people in the street. He did not want to talk to them, but he should figure out what is happening. So to make a compromise he walked through some buildings to get close to the three. He found a place where he see and also hear the three "adventurers": He was across the street from the trio, in some abandoned building. Kuro watched them from a window on the 1st level (the 1st level above the ground level). From what he could understand neither of those three have any indea what is going on as well. " What a shame...." Right after he said that he heard a strange sound... what is it... " Wait is that a carriage?" It indeed was a carriage, but because of that, he couldn't hear the trio. So he leaned a littlebit outside the window, still being a bit hidden by the shadow. But that didn't last for long, as the windowsill was in a bad shape and collapsed under the weight of Kuro, which fell down together with the windowsill. " Ahhh!.... well...that....didn't go....as planned..." Said kuro clutching in pain. " They... definitelly noticed... me now... unless they are complete morons.... like I." Nordin was practically spinning in his chair with excitement as he made the finishing touches to his character. He had spent far too much time adjusting sliders and making small, minute changes over and over again to make his character just right. After all, this was going to be his main character in the exciting new MMORPG Elder Tale! He finally felt as if his adventurous Swashbuckler was perfect, and he clicked the confirm button on the game's user interface. [What would you like to name your character?] The game posed a question to Nordin that had often made him spend far too much time simply pondering. Though, after some thought, he went with a name he came to use rather often in other MMORPGs, and his fingers danced about the keys as he typed. [Are you sure you wish to name your character Dumah?] He clicked the confirm button, and next thing he knew...
He stood up and found himself outside, in an unfamiliar environment. Wait... No... It was not so unfamiliar after all. After a moment of surveying the area, he recognized this zone as Londinium, the main city in Elder Tale's United Kingdom server. All kinds of emotions flowed in and out, shocking and tormenting him with confusion and surprise. "What is this...?" He confirmed the situation for himself, and realized he was in the game. {So many other players seem so distraught; such thick despair...} Dumah knew he had to try to help, and so, with a smile on his face, he walked from group to group, offering words of encouragement and reassurance. "Hey! Do not worry! Things will be all right!" "I am quite sure this will all make sense soon!" "No need to cry!" He had experience in dealing with sorrow, as he often had to in the real world as a father. Many days, his sweet daughter Mira would come to her father for comfort- then, like a bullet aimed right at his heart, it hit him. Nordin Reecendo was gone, replaced by Dumah in this fantasy world. Never again would he see his sweet, innocent daughter; never again would he feel the warmth of his beloved wife. His life was over, and as he was giving his words of hope to a group of three Adventurers, his reassuring and optimistic smile was accompanied by light tears. Dumah had not even realized his conflicting displays of emotion as he forced himself to remain hopeful, hoping to prevent any panic.

After his fall the three adventurers approached Kuro, not saying single word. They were lookin' at him as he was a madman. Right at the moment when the female cleric was about to say something a man with a ponytail aproached them saying something about "it all being right in the future" and that we'll figure something out. He seemed like a nice cheery guy, but for some reson he was crying. (Is he happy that we got stuck in here or is he just putting that smile on as a cover to a broken man? Maybie he was really broken by the events, and turned mad....) All of these and a lot similar thoughts flew through Kuro's mind, but the longer the man talked the more he was sure that he definitely isn't a madman. The man introduced himself as "Dumah". He was friendly, but Kuro was getting a bit annoyed by him and to his standarts, it was starting to get crowded. (I should ask him if he knows anything about whatever is happening). " Hey, Dumah, if you're so sure that everything will be alright, then you probably know at least something about what is going on here.....right?" [Word count: 201 Tags: @ineircied Misaki @dumah ]

Joel felt terrible. No, it wasn't because of his surroundings. A quick glance told him that this was Londinium, Elder Tale UK's main city. Nor was it because of the fact that he was placed in a game, without any explanation. Honestly, he didn't mind one bit. He spent almost all of his hours in-game anyways, and he didn't really have any particular reason to want to return. No, the reason that he felt terrible was because he was placed in his avatar's body. As soon as he realised where he was, his hands immediately shot to his chest in dread. All the colour drained from HER cheeks, as she fell to the ground in shock. She looked around, spotting several other adventurers who seemed to be in as much shock as she was. Spotting a puddle of water, she ran over to it to check her reflection, hoping that she was mistaken. She wasn't. Staring back at her was a short, purple-haired fox tail, whose eyes were wide. "You've gotta be kidding me..." she muttered, still slightly in shock from the whole experience. She noted that she still had her original voice, which was... odd, to say the least. Her voice was still semi-high pitched, so she could theoretically pass as a girl...Joel- no, Katarina took a couple of deep breaths, and decided to look around once again. Everyone seemed to be in a state of panic. Understandable, really. I mean, they were in a video game for Christ's sakes! There were a couple of people who seemed to have calmed themselves talking off to the side. "Hey, Dumah, if you're so sure that everything will be alright, then you probably know at least something about what is going on here, right?"
Know something? Okay, that got Katarina's attention. Deciding that it was probably the best course of action at this point, Katarina walked over to talk to the two people.
*SMASH*
...or rather, she would once she gets used to this body. Yeah. That seems like a plan.

Before Dumah were able to answer they heard a loud smashing sound eight behind Kuro. As he turned around, he saw some fox-tale female face-planting ("If that is the right word...") the road. Beacuase Kuro was not an asshole he offered the adventuress a helping hand. "Are you alright? I take it you also did not create your character, so it would match your irl height?". While saying that he was smiling from ear to ear. ("I should not laugh at someoness misery!") So he tried to not smile.... but was kinda unsuccessful and ended up smiling even more. ("I'm an asshole...") "What's your name?"

Katarina's face was currently beet red as she stared at the ground she was currently lying on. She sighed. 'Well, that was embarrassing...' she thought to herself. 'Let's hope no one saw-'"Are you alright?" She sighed. God-frickin-dammit.
Looking up, she saw the person from earlier staring down at her, offering her a hand with a big grin on his face. "I take it you also did not create your character, so it would match your IRL height?" Her face reddened even more. Chuckling, his grin widened. Dick. "What's your name?"
Katarina sighed internally. 'This is gonna be really demeaning, but I don't want to put him off by telling...' Bracing herself, she put on the most convincing "girly voice" she could.
"H-Hi, my name is Katarina..." she said, forcing a stammer. 'What am I doing!?!' Oh god, this wasn't going to end well. Grabbing his hand and pulling herself up, she turned to face the assassin, who was currently standing with a half-alv she assumed was the "Dumah" previously mentioned. "A-anyway, who are you? And didn't you say you knew something about what was happening here?"[Word count: 187 Tags: @kurosan @dumah Notes: Yeah, I'm going with the "hide my gender!!!11" approach.]

Haseo had spent the last hour memorizing his skills as well as his starter equipment. Gaming was second nature to him, and he quickly came to terms with what was happening while others still panicked. Upon resting his eyes on his 'Gold' amount, he stared at the number for what seemed like forever, as if examining the rounded number would somehow increase its value. He knew he would soon replace the '0' with many, many more, preceded by an amassed amount of numbers. Swiping his menu away with great precision, he adjusted his weapon in a slow manner, before becoming pleased with its state of comfort. As usual when he was deep in thought, Haseo was oblivious to the area around him that were bustling with activity, possessing seemingly luxurious high-rise buildings and shanty towns alike. Then he was trapped here, where barely any life could be seen. He took a sip from the bottle he held. Its contents were a mystery to him, but it didn’t taste half bad. A burst of flavors caressed his mouth that wasn’t entirely new to him, but foreign enough to maintain the mystery about what it was. Despite the sweet taste, the thought of what it may be left a rather acidic taste in his mouth to contradict the sweetness that danced on his tongue a moment ago. Wait, where did he get the bottle? 'You've done it again, Haseo. Smooth.' He cursed to himself.
Haseo averted his gaze to the distance, admiring the sun as if it was about to disappear over night, never to return its warmth to him. The sun dipped down and licked the earth like an ever-glowing lamp. Dismissing his feelings with deep thought came just as easily to Haseo as breathing, but it was his only way to escape his true, emotional and fearful self. He recalled his thoughts from earlier, correcting himself. This wasn’t a game anymore, this was his reality. Or is it reality? Haseo touched himself, soon after holding his hands outstretched, before allowing them to drop to his sides, completing the ritual. This may be a game in a sense, but now it was his reality. Reality is what you perceive; where you can see, feel, where you can experience emotions. This death game was exactly that, and as such, Haseo now considered it to be his, and the other players’ new reality.
The mere thought provoked a spine-chilling shiver from Haseo, the thought that this would become his permanent reality, his resting place, and ultimately his grave. However, all thoughts encircling his mind were dismissed as quickly as one would usually dismiss a mere thought, as Haseo had seemed to walk into someone without noticing. He tilted his head slightly, observing the taller figure. Haseo remained silent, scratching his head antisocially, unsure how to respond. “Uh, sor-ry?” Haseo seemed oblivious to having just walking into someone, not evidence to the contrary was his confused apology. His slightly large eyes added an altogether innocence to his otherwise dark and, as assumed, untrustworthy demeanor, in contradiction to his piercing grey eyes. From what he could make out, he could have sworn he heard the figure that he had clashed with, due to his analytical side, be called 'Dumah'.
Please notify me of any mistakes I make, this is my first RP on this forum. Cheers. On a side note, I change my display avatar to roughly how my character reacts to previous posts, or what happened.

Several people had now surrounded Dumah, seemingly interested in the assumption the Assassin had made regarding Dumah having some understanding of the situation at hand. He held his chin and closed his eyes, pondering the situation. He started by recalling the last memory he can recall. "It seems we are in Elder Tale's Londinium, and judging by the pandemonium everyone is experiencing in the wake of this realization, I presume that we were brought here with no choice. I have no clue as to what could have possibly caused this, but..." He tapped at the air, bringing up his user interface and menus. "I can deduce with absolute certainty that we are, indeed, in the world of Elder Tale..." He found himself silently staring at the yellow square icon with dual cutlasses crossed in it, along with all of his character information. His old life is over, and today he has been reborn as Dumah Iino, the Half-Alv Swashbuckler adventurer. He snapped back to reality and closed his menu. He continued his deduction to the rest of the group. "Before today, when Elder Tale was a game, a fallen player would resurrect at the Cathedral. It is far too dangerous to test anything, for I do not know what may happen... If everything else is still as it was when this was but a game, odds are the Cathedral will still bring us back from the precipice of death. However, without seeing this happen or testing this theory, there is still the possibility of death being -- as it is in the real world -- permanent. As much as I wish to explore the wilderness area outside of this town, I do not wish to risk having someone's blood on my hands..." He held his chin once again, pondering if he could handle a group of level one Adventurers. Dumah had some experience in managing and strategizing for Raids in other MMORPGs, but he had never tried a level one party like this, nor had he ever had to manage a Raid party first-hand as if it were the real world. Dumah counted the number of Adventurers who had formed around him; only four, himself included. Dumah had managed Raid parties as large as fifty, surely he could handle a mere four. He looked at everyone else again. "Everyone, please tell me your class. I believe exploring the forest outside of this town may yield important results and revelations regarding this new world we find ourselves in." - Words: 415 - - Total: 831 - -------------------- Tags: @kurosan Haseo @bornfromvelvet I am really sorry I took forever to post.

(t seems that Dumah is taking on the role of the group leader. Good, he looks capable. Too bad that he doesn't acctualy know more then any of us.) Kuro was looked at the other adventurers. (4 people.... I think I can handle this alright and finiding out more about this world sounds good to me.) When Dumah finished Kuro was decided to join them on this trip. "I am a lvl 1 Assassin, Hitman and a Pharmacist. My idea is to be basicaly the classic sneaky assassin, I like to use ranged weapons and want to learn a lot about poisons. Also I don't really like company so much, so onec we find out how acctualy dangerous this world is I will probably depart from you, so when that happens, no hard feelings, ok?" When he made that clear, he stepped into a shadow of a near building and leaned on it, crosing his arms, to make evident that he is done talking. After that he'd just continue to listen to others. KATARINA FOX TAIL Cleric Lv. 1
| HP MP
| STATUS: None |
Once the assassin had stopped talking, he seemed to have practically melted into the shadow of a building nearby, most likely waiting for someone else to speak up. Katarina sighed. Of course he didn't give a name... Oh great, everyone was looking at her now. That's helpful. Really calms the nerves. 'Well, I don't know if the Cathedral works the same as it does in-game, so I may as well try and stick with these guys. I may as well try to make a decent impression...'
"H-hi..." Katarina started, trying to make her "nervous stutter" sound as genuine as possible. She knew that her normal personality was... off-putting to some, so she tried her hardest to act like the shy, nervous, moe person her avatar looked like. "I-I'm Katarina, I'm a level one Cleric. My subclasses are Scribe and Scholar." Huh. That seemed convincing enough. Quite the difference from her normal personality. 'I'm already regretting this course of action...'
"I'm not a newbie to Elder Tale, I've played it for ages, but I always used to play Assassin-" she motioned towards the assassin, who was currently just sitting down watching her introduction, "-I never played Cleric, nor Fox Tail..." she looked at her twitching tail anxiously, a bit overwhelmed at the thought of having a brand new appendage. It was strange, though. It felt almost natural, like she had had the tail all of her life. That made her think. Barring her body, what else did the sudden trip to Elder Tale change?
She blushed slightly as she realised she had stared at her tail for about a minute. "A-anyway, I hope we get along well, and, umm... yeah." Blushing heavily, she bowed and quickly walked off to the side. After everyone had stopped looking at her, she grinned widely. That worked better than expected. Now she just had to keep that act up....
She sighed. 'This is gonna be a long day...'[Word count: 323 Tags: @dumah @kurosan Haseo Note: Well then, I just realised how hard my character's fake personality is to write. Oh well, it'll be fun anyways. Also, Kuro, you haven't actually introduced yourself to Katarina, Dumah and Haseo yet. Your name has not come up once in speech.]

((Alright, now it's Haseo's turn to talk.)) ((Also, in case you were curious, outside of her facade, I'll be writing Katarina as a bit of a snarky, sarcastic manipulator. Like I said, quite a bit different from her "shy" facade.))
