His hair reached below his neck, he had a scraggly beard resting on his chin, and in public he rarely bothered to stand up fully straight. This was mostly due to how he grew up; he often towered above his friends, and by 17 he had reached 6’3. Combined with his rough, tattered looks, he tended to intimidate others unless he did his best to appear lax and shrunk himself down a bit. His clothes were rarely in one piece, and often had at least one hole or rip in them from wear and tear. In terms of physique, he did have some muscle on him, as a result of frequent walking and the occasional street-fight though, though it hardly stood out in comparison with one who may have purposefully trained their body. In Elder Tale, Niver is a Werecat with mostly black fur, though there are some patches of white in places such as his stomach and paws. At 5’7, he is significantly smaller than his real-life self, so he normally stands up straight. His clothing choice is, more often than not, practical and utilitarian travelling clothes, though he enjoys the chance to dress up in fanciful clothing. He is leaner than his real-life self, with his figure being thinner and less muscular. | Personality Niver is an energetic, wisecracking Werecat who, despite his claims of being a thief, along with a-particularly forced-attitude to match, rarely actually steals; most Adventurers either don’t have anything he wants or would easily catch him if he did take things, and monsters only drop things after they die. Besides that, he does recognise that stealing things from people who worked hard to get them would only cause them to feel miserable; in his view, since the world that everybody is in is at the very least similar to a game, they may as well try and have fun in it, as games are for having fun. He enjoys social interaction with others, and when he isn’t busy with some sort of escapade or thrill, he enjoys…bragging to others about what sort of adventures he might have. He is also very talkative, and often deliberately makes use of techniques and ‘excuses’ for him to continue talking, such as putting words in others’ mouths if he is talking about another person, though it’s rarely what they might actually think. Along with this, he is quite cowardly, and if a battle is going badly he is far more likely to flee than continue fighting. Despite these flaws, he does care for those he considers friends, and he will attempt to restrain himself from his more negative traits if he can tell that what he says or does genuinely angers or saddens them. Oftentimes, Niver’s mannerisms, such as talking far too much than necessary, or making grand, extravagant claims despite them being obviously fake, come off as exaggerated and overdone to false proportions. This is largely because he seeks attention; if he feels ignored or unappreciated, he becomes depressed, and a more realistic side of him shows. Without his usual in-game ‘persona’, so to speak, he tends to stutter over words, not make eye contact with others, and generally becomes more withdrawn and antisocial. That said, once he cheers up, he tends to slip back into acting, so it’s rare that anybody can connect with his true self for particularly long. |
Extra
Jack is naturally right-handed, though with the new body of Niver he wouldn’t mind trying to learn to be ambidextrous.
His favourite food is, fittingly enough, fish. He dislikes red meat, however, due to it feeling ‘unclean’.
He finds overly formal, serious people or situations uncomfortable, as he is unable to put on his usual act in such scenarios. In these cases, he will often either attempt to lighten the mood or, if this appears impossible, not speak at all.
He does have some battle experience from the occasional street-fight he would have, though this was almost entirely unarmed, not to mention with him being taller than his opponents rather than shorter. As such, this knowledge cannot entirely be put to use.

Biography
Born into a lower-class family in one of the poorer areas of Birmingham, Jack grew up without much in the way of luxuries. His clothes were normally second-hand, the food he ate was cheap and basic, and he rarely got to spend time with his parents because they worked so often. Because of this, he frequently spent time outside of the house, roaming the streets. When he did this, he often stood out; even at an early age, he was taller than most people of his age around him, which tended to intimidate those who didn’t know him well. The fact that he rarely bothered to look after his appearance didn’t help, and so as he grew up, to most of the world, he came across as a dirty, unhealthy thug. Though he tried to lessen this reputation by lowering himself into a slouch when he was in public, it rarely helped. With him feeling that almost all of the people around him either didn’t care about him or outright disliked him, he grew into a state of depression, and desperately tried to find some sort of redeeming qualities about himself, even if he was the only one who might be content with them.
It was during this ‘soul-searching’ process that he found an acting club, where he was able to integrate fairly well. He found it reassuring that what he was like outside of there didn’t seem to matter, and as he continued to go there, he started to develop a separate personality for there alone. Outside of there, he would be a quiet, introverted and calm young man. However, when acting, he seemed to become incredibly bubbly and energetic, perhaps as a result of being near similar people. In line with the ‘acting’, he continually made up things that he had done over the weeks to make himself seem more impressive to them, and over time, they became more grandiose and, in consequence, less believable. However, people were prepared to accept that side of him, and it was quite common for him to meet up with these friends outside of acting.
Around this time, he started to get into gaming. While he didn’t own a computer himself, several of the people he knew did, and so he would occasionally go over there to watch them, and sometimes even play himself. One game that several of his friends were into was known as Elder Tale, supposedly the world’s largest MMORPG. He was surprised to learn that, despite this, there was no British server, so they would have to play on the servers of other countries instead. That said, his friends had told him that there were rumours of one being implemented, which did get his hopes up somewhat. He was curious as to what things it might include, and as such heavily waited in anticipation for its release. As he waited, he would frequently watch some of his friends play this game together, and as he did, he was particularly drawn to the Bard class; in some ways, he felt, it reflected himself, an ordinary person who could make themselves special through entertaining and empowering others. The fact that there was a cat race in it also amused him, considering that the cats he knew were normally either the ‘cute’ house cats that couldn’t catch rats for life, or the mangy stray ones that, despite having the street-smarts, were often too hungry and tired to chase down animals, and had to live off junk on the street instead.
With little to do outside of his social life, at times he tried to imagine the sort of character he might have on the game. He seemed to like the Bard and the cat race, so probably that, and since it did have ‘RPG’ in it, he assumed there was at least some form of acting in it, considering it looked unreal enough…Perhaps he’d try and be more energetic and cheerful, like he was around his friends; after all, an entertainer wasn’t exactly entertaining if they only dampened the mood. You’d also have to make your own clothes back then, since clothes were expensive to buy, especially if you were constantly travelling to different towns being an entertainer, so perhaps that Tailor class...Not to mention, entertaining didn’t always consist of songs and poems. Perhaps he could take up the role of some sort of ‘physical actor’ with the Acrobat class, along with all the song and dance of the Bard. Though, why would a travelling entertainer be going around, killing monsters? Perhaps they could be some sort of Robin Hood- esque ‘thief’-stealing from the monsters to give to the poor, unhappy people who didn’t know how to fight. It was either that, or they were a maniacal killer who enjoyed beating up monsters, and that didn’t suit him at all. With these thoughts in mind, by the time the British server was to come out, he had thought so deeply about what he might be like in this game that he pleaded his friends to let him make his own character on the server, if only so he could see what it was like. Finally getting one of them to agree, he made the character exactly how he envisioned it, but hesitated as he was going to name the character-he realised that he hadn’t even thought of what they’d be called. Hastily getting a dictionary, he opened up to a random page, and found a word he liked-Conniver. Entering that, he found it was already taken, so he took off the first three characters, and it went though. As excited as he was to play the game with this character, however, it would never be used; not, at least, in the format of the Elder Tale that he knew…
Inventory
Beginner’s Maracas: A cheap little instrument for aspiring musicians and novice bards, made out of cheap materials. They don’t really play too well, but at least you can play something.
EQUIPMENT
Left Arm | Armor | Right Arm Starter Rapier: A thin sword with complete emphasis in thrusting. A starter weapon designed for novice adventurers, made out of cheap iron. It is well-balanced and easy to use but doesn’t hit particularly hard at all. You probably should get this replaced as soon as you can. |

CLASS SKILLS
Main Class: Bard
Elegant Act: Attack skill | An elegant attack that comes from a beautiful dance. As an attack it is average but upon use, it boosts the bard's evasion rate for a certain period of time so it is popular among front-line bards as it increases their survivability. One peculiarity about this skill is that the attack motions and dance are rather elaborate. When using a sword, it is like a sword dance, if a spear it will be used as a baton constantly twirling round and round at high speeds. There are different motions for every kind of weapon. The motions for the giant scythe would be to take the huge weapon and to spin it around like one would a pencil and is quite the sight to behold. The animation time of this skill is 3 seconds and its cooldown is 15 seconds.
Sonic Cutter: The Bard amplifies sound waves to deliver a concentrated burst of destructive interference at a target. A cutting-wave projectile is shot forward, reaching up to 10 meters before dissipating. This skill is considered a wind-type attack and deals greater damage when used in close range. Additionally, if Resonance Beat was used immediately prior to this skill, its range increases by an additional 5 meters. Due to its low cooldown and moderate DPS capacity, it is a popular skill used by the rare solo Bard. This skill has a casting time of 1 second and a cooldown of 6 seconds.
Hearing Aptitude: A toggle skill that improves the character's hearing perception. Whispers can be heard from about 2 meters away, conversations can be heard up to 10 meters away, and the hearing range of the most distant sounds are doubled. It is a very effective skill for the sake of gathering intel and eavesdropping.

Level 31 Tier II Skill: A skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. The skill may be either a Tier I or II skill. Unlocked at Level 31.
Roleplay Class: Acrobat
High Jump: Passive. One of the most basic tricks of the Acrobat's specialty is their ability to jump greater heights than any average person. The Acrobat's maximum jumping height is doubled. While this skill might seem otherwise mundane, it can allow one to reach places that would be difficult for many others.
Crafting Class: Tailor
Needlework: Due to the dexterity from which they perform their tasks, tailors are able to make up for any compromises in their ability. Any dexterity debuffs to a tailor can be recovered from twice as quickly.
