Shizu had started to regularly work on learning how to play the game. She now knew how to use a sword and some of the skills that she managed to gain access to. She had not been the greatest at fighting right now, but she was definitely getting better. She officially decided that her main goal in this world was to become as powerful as she humanly could. She wanted to be a great and powerful hero, but knew that she wouldn't get that by running around and acting dumb. She has been spending time into researching how exactly the world of Elder Tale worked. She was becoming more and more accustomed to things such as traditions, phrases and common knowledge. While she wasn't fully informed, she definitely wouldn't mistake a shovel for an axe again.
When she was looking into what she could do with her class, she discovered that were so many skills that she didn't have yet. She was managing to gain a few levels, and gain a few new skills. The one that interested her the most though was the ability to dual wield. That would be a very good way for her to up her damage per second, there was just one problem. She didn't have two swords. She considered taking the shovel out of her inventory and using that, but she thought it wouldn't really be a good idea. That only left one option, she needed to buy another sword.
She quickly made it to the crafting district of London, hoping to find someone who could make her a very good sword. She walked confidently and looked at various stalls and buildings that sold just what she needed. But that was when Shizu remembered, where did she put her money? How could she be so dumb as to easily lose something that was that important. She quickly ran to the inn where she was staying and went into her room.
She frantically searched every nook and cranny that she could, but after a few hours of searching, she managed to find the small pouch where she kept her savings. She sighed a large breath of relief as she made sure to count what was in there. Surely enough, all of her money was in there and safe and sound. Once she left the room, she noticed that she wasted pretty much all of her daylight trying to find her money. She looked defeated as she returned to the crafting district, where just about everyone already left.
Shizu looked up at the moon in wonder, she hadn't really seen it since she got into the world of Elder Tale. She had barely seen it in the real world, and couldn't help but stare in wonder at how many stars were in the sky on that night. The stars in the real world were a spectacle enough to her, but the fact that there wasn't much pollution to obstruct the view, these stars were much more numerous. Shizu got lost in the view of the sky that she found herself seated under a tree for about a half an hour. Her resting managed to cause her to doze off and she slept until it was definitely midnight.
Once she awoke from her little nap, Shizu went about exploring the district. It seemed so much different when everyone was away. Hollow, empty, dead were a few words that she would use to describe the sight in front of her. When the people were here, this seemed to be a living and breathing world but now it reminded her of what Elder Tale was when it was a game to her. Shizu eventually found what she assumed was some kind of bullitin board and wondered what exactly it said. Her eyesight was not the best, so she wasn't really able to make out such small writing in pitch darkness.
After a few minutes of deliberation, Shizu decided she needed to find some form of light. So she went into town and found the tree that she went to when she wanted to be alone or thinking. She remembered a book that she read in the real world about a tree that constantly gave to a kid. She got reminded of that book when she took some of the branches off the tree and put them on the ground in front of her. People made fire all of the time in movies right? How hard could it be?
After a solid hour of Shizu rubbing sticks together in various ways, she decided that it was definitely impossible to create fire. She rubbed them together, on the ground, on the tree and she had no idea what she was doing wrong. She wondered how people seemed to do it so easily when people were merely cavemen. Shizu decided she would have to try to steal some fire, so she wandered around town with her stick, looking for something that was burning. Once she found a small hobo fire, she was ready to return to that board.
With her now lit torch, she was perfectly prepared to read what she missed in the crafting district. She felt like she was finally getting to the bottom of the great mystery of how she could find a sword. She wondered why her mind couldn't stay on one thing, first it was the sword, then the money, then the stars, and then the torch. She desperately tried to focus on the sword as she arrived to the board. Once she read what it said, she found that it was some form of request board for people to craft certain things. This was exactly what she needed. Soon she finished making a request for another one handed sword and pinning it to the board.
Once she was finished with that, she felt relieved as she returned to her hotel room, managing to collapse on her bed, due to the fact that she was up until 1 am.
