Appearance Kaika (character) is a 5'6" tall girl with medium length red hair. Her musculature isn't bulky, but well toned (like an acrobat). Her eyes a pale, icy blue - almost gray in color. Whenever she's anticipating combat or physical activity, she ties her hair back in a ponytail. Otherwise, she tends to wear her hair down in casual settings, or in a fancy braid for formal events. When left alone, her hair is naturally wavy, with a bit or curl near the ends. Her clothing style tends towards simple, colorful, and easy to move in. She wears flowy, patterned skirts, always above knee length, and loose fitting, sleeveless blouses. It's important to note that she wears shorts under her skirt at all times, as her style of aerial combat would otherwise be rather indecent. Her style of dress often comes across as carefree. In non-combat situations, her typical body language tends to be reserved and cautious. In combat, however, she almost seems to be a different person entirely. She moves quickly and confidently, with a gleam in her eye and a grin on her face, even when the battle is going poorly. Taylor (player) is a 6' tall trans girl with long, dark brown hair. Her build is relatively average, with some amount of fat and muscle. She's close to flat-chested, at the stage where her chest is easy to overlook when covered by loose or baggy clothing. In terms of overall build and body structure, her appearance is somewhere between male and androgynous. She has brown eyes, and often appears tired, as she doesn't sleep much. Her hair is unruly and reaches down to her lower back, so she keeps it in a low ponytail or braid at all times, unless she is sleeping. Taylor's clothing style is almost exclusively t-shirts, with comfortable shorts or skirts below. Her demeanor tends to be laid back and aloof, to the point where she can sometimes come across as apathetic. There are very many obvious differences between Taylor and her character, Kaika, but Kaika is a much closer representation of Taylor's true self, and reflects in many ways how Taylor wishes she looked. | Personality Personality Type: INTP Kaika is a somewhat reserved girl, but easily excited at the concept of mentally engaging or creative puzzles. For her, combat is an adventure. Whether it's trying new techniques and combos, figuring out her opponents on the fly, or working with a team to accomplish impressive feats, Kaika feels most alive in the heat of battle. She enjoys and values a challenge, has a great mind for strategy, and tends to get more excited when losing than when winning. This has a tendency to backfire, as it can be unnerving to others in the group, or make it look like she isn't taking the battle seriously. She acts based on her own moral compass, tries to avoid lying when possible, often resorting to half-truths and omissions when she can't tell the truth for some reason. Until they demonstrate otherwise, she also tends to assume others are the same way: generally honest and good-natured at heart. She easily trusts others, but almost always does so with withdrawn emotions. Because of this, though she makes friends easily, she only rarely opens up and expresses her feelings. While she does her best to be friendly and outgoing when the situation requires it, interacting socially with a lot of people tires her out quickly. If she's stuck in a situation with a lot of unavoidable conversations, she may start to get cranky and irritable. Divergence β: Unfortunately, Taylor's voice is nowhere close to matching Kaika's body. In this timeline, while she is overjoyed by her new physical form, she is petrified by the thought of someone judging her by her voice. Until the point at which her voice begins to change to match her body (around December), she avoids speaking completely whenever possible, doing her best to communicate via body language and gestures. When she does speak, it is only ever in whispers, so as to avoid outing herself. |
Extra
Taylor is transgender. She/her pronouns will be used to refer to her, since she is a girl, but her physical body looks fairly male, for the most part. She has already started taking hormones, but it's still pretty early in her transition.
Biography
As a trans girl, Taylor's childhood was rough. Her parents, both having come from conservative Christian families, weren't accepting of it at all, and did their best to treat her as male whenever possible. This, combined with troubles fitting in at school, made for a very troubled childhood. She was bullied often, and didn't have more than a few friends. Her good grades in school were a point of pride for her, but only served to distance her further from her peers. Her only means of escape were through books and video games, where she could be in new worlds, and express herself for who she was. She quickly got involved in RPGs, and dedicated most of her free time to them.
Her social life took a turn for the better when she reached college (uni); almost everyone there seemed to be much more accepting of her. She started dressing the way she liked, wearing bright colors, and making new friends, including the members of her school's GSA. A group on campus that regularly played Elder Tale invited her to join, and she spent the next three years playing in a guild with them. The guild split up when its members graduated, but they agreed to stay on each other's friend lists to keep in touch. Taylor stopped playing for a while after graduation, as she was busy with life, getting a job, moving out, etc., but when she heard about the new patch, Homesteading the Novasphere, she decided to get back into the game and see what all the hype was about.
Taylor lives by herself in a small, one-bedroom apartment, and works full-time as a software developer for a small game company. She has dreams of one day working on Elder Tale's development team.

CLASS SKILLS
Main Class: Monk
Somersault Kick: The user performs a somersault with an outstretched leg, aiming to kick the monster in a preemptive strike while gathering some momentum. This move can be also be used in mid-air in order to propel the user with a slight upward momentum, allowing them to gain about another second of air time. The Monk cancels any other Stances and enters the Nighthawk Stance for the next 10 seconds, increasing melee attack speed by 10% but decreasing ground melee damage for 10 seconds (aerial attacks are unaffected). This skill has an animation time of 2 seconds and triggers a global cooldown during its animation, where no other skills may be used until the animation is resolved.
Wyvern Kick: The user takes to the sky by performing a high jump of up to 5 meters, then kicking down toward a target. Often, the monk will then perform another jump to maintain the height advantage. This skill is particularly taken by monks for its vaulting properties. This skill has an animation time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds. When performed while Manawyrm Stance is active, this skill deals 10% more damage and aggro. When performed while Nighthawk Stance is active, the Monk's maximum jump height is 10 meters and this skill's cooldown is reduced to 4 seconds.
Parry: A hard parry that is delivered to reduce the force of an incoming attack. It is a system-assisted action that controls the body in the face of an oncoming attack, designed to reduce the damage from an attack as much as possible. Thus, while anyone can parry an attack given the right timing and momentum and achieve mixed results, activating this skill is probably one of the safest defenses against such an attack. Allowing the system free reign of one's own actions, however, may perhaps prove somewhat difficult in terms of flexibility. Despite that, this skill is one of the most basic and effective defensive techniques of the Warrior classes. Parry has an animation time of 1 second and a cooldown of 5 seconds. This cooldown is doubled to 10 seconds if used by any other class.
Rafting Taunt: The user poses aggressively and baits enemies' attention. For a few seconds, all enemies within the surrounding area can only select the monk as a combat target. This is often used as a means of managing consistent aggro control. This skill has an animation time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds.
Heal: The most fundamental HP recovery magic of the healer classes and the root of all restorative skills. Although it grants HP restoration, it is known for its poor mana efficiency compared to other healing skills, barrier skills and reactive activation skills, thus putting this on low priority amongst healing skills. Beginners often look at healers based on how much HP this skill heals, causing some to be called second-rate or third-rate healers. That said, truly useless healers are out of the question, since most are at least competent in using restorative magic. When this skill is used, the caster is surrounded by a hazy warm light, and the chosen target is showered down with particles of light. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown time of 10 seconds. If used by a non-healer class, the cooldown doubles to 20 seconds.
Level 10 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 10.
Level 13 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 13.
Level 16 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 16.
Level 19 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 19.
Level 22 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 22.
Level 25 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 25.
Level 28 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 28.
Level 31 Tier II Skill: A skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. The skill may be either a Tier I or II skill. Unlocked at Level 31.
Roleplay Class: Acrobat
High Jump: Passive. One of the most basic tricks of the Acrobat's specialty is their ability to jump greater heights than any average person. The Acrobat's maximum jumping height is doubled. While this skill might seem otherwise mundane, it can allow one to reach places that would be difficult for many others.
Crafting Class: Tailor
Needlework: Due to the dexterity from which they perform their tasks, tailors are able to make up for any compromises in their ability. Any dexterity debuffs to a tailor can be recovered from twice as quickly.
