Per the Sage’s directive, Sayha left the square immediately and headed east towards Thames Coastline. By the time she reached the Coastline, though, the sun had almost completely set, and the moon appeared in the sky above.
“I better make this quick,” Sayha said aloud to herself as she pulled out the Divining Rod. She carefully studied the Rod. It didn’t look like anything special to her. It was about a foot in total length, and most of the part was a plain silver rod. On the top was a round blue crystal that had flecks that sparked. To hold the crystal on were three arms that were triangles coming up from the rod.
“Well, if this doesn’t work, maybe I can keep this for an ornament or something,” Sayha shrugged.
Instead of starting directly where she had arrived, she made her way to the north area. She had planned to start north and make her way south since she wasn’t exactly sure how else to search.
Sayha recalled what she knew about the area. The Coastline was where the Thames River met the actual coastline of the sea which is why it was dubbed the Thames Coastline, even though the name wasn’t completely politically correct. Sayha didn’t recall any boats regularly coming in the region, and she heard about new islands constantly appearing along the coast. They, of course, had not yet been charted. Being a scribe, Sayha could have charted at least one or two, but she put off leveling that subclass for the time-being. She could work on it once she was stronger.

Sayha could easily tell when she arrived in the northern area. It was a smelly, pest-infested marshland that did not seem inhabitable for humans. Sayha quickly but carefully moved through the marsh, waving the Rod in front of her like a metal detector. It was dark by the time Sayha had finished surveying the marsh, and she found nothing.
She made her way slowly south, walking back and forth. If anyone had been watching her, they most likely would have thought she had gone mad, not that she cared. At least, that’s what she told herself. Though, she realized that she could compare this to searching for errors in coding. It took a lot of time, but it would eventually be worth it. Thought that was when she realized that she never asked about the quest reward.
“At least this is better than sitting on my butt all day,” she sighed.
When she reached about the middle of the coastline, south of where she first arrived, she found a huge crater that was marked off by sticks. The rod began to glow faintly the closer she got to the crater.
“This must have been where the tablet was originally discovered,” Sayha said to herself, “Makes sense since there are traces, and the Rod is reacting. I should probably head directly south from here.”

When Sayha headed directly south, the crystal on the Rod began to glow. Using the same method as before, she moved the Rod in the general direction of where she believed the fragment would be in.
However, it lead her to the natural land bridge linking Londonium to the Isle of Grain. Or at least where the natural land bridge would have been. The land bridge mostly appeared during times of low tide. At the moment, the tide was higher than the bridge.
“Guess I’ll wait until morning…?” Sayha cut herself of when the Rod began to glow as she moved it southwards towards the water.
“Of course it’s in the water,” Sayha rolled her eyes.
Rather than just jump in the river and hope for the best, she checked the coastline to pinpoint where the fragment would most likely be in the water. When she found that point, she slowly walked forward in the water. The water was freezing and instantly gave her a chill. Despite this she moved forward until the water was up to her chest. That was when the Rod was glowing the brightest.
Sayha took a deep breath and went under the water. She used her foot to mark where she needed to dig. She dug and dug at the river soot but couldn’t find anything right away. After unthawing for a few moments, she went back into the river and continued to search.
Finally, she uncovered what at first appeared to be a decent-sized rock. She pulled it up from the river and dragged it to the coastline. The Rod was definitely reacting to the rock she pulled up; it had to be a fragment. However even in the bright glow of the Rod, Sayha wasn’t able to make out many characters or words on the fragment. It would need to be restored.
“Time to find an Artisan,” Sayha sighed.
