Fletcher had decided to go back to his original tromping ground to do some Alchemy given the weather was nice. It wasn’t as if the weather changed all that often, but given there was no rain it was good enough weather to be outside. The Summoner sat down in the park with Carbuncle, contemplating his task for the day. He could experiment with more accessory crafting, or potentially do something with Magitech, and there was even the possibility of figuring out how to weaponise Magitech to see to anyone that could use it. His brow furrowed and he thought to himself, causing Carbuncle to look at him confused and a little concerned. Fletcher wore this look when he was deep in thought and at times it got to the point of being completely oblivious to what was going on around him.
With a carefully placed paw, Carbuncle roused Fletcher from his thoughts and gave him a look. ”Ah, right. Sorry. Where were we?” The blue fox sat next to its Summoner as he shuffled through his inventory, pulling out a Mana Fragment and with Carbuncle’s help condensing it down further until it pulsed and became less intangible and more a physical object. It glowed softly and looked almost like a shard of ice, it’s surface coated in a hazy sheen. Fletcher pocketed it and looked at Carbuncle before almost reaching out in the air above the fox and grabbing the residual mana floating there, another Mana Fragment forming in his hand.

@tag WORDS | 366 T WORDS | 366 Don’t cry– your tears will freeze. The weather was good that day, how unfortunate. Cloudy days with cool weather was what he hoped for. Didn't sweat or have to squint. Would have been perfect. Having not one ray of light penetrate the thick layer of clouds that could have hung overhead. But alas, that was all there was out. Bright sunlight. Not like he was a vampire or something. It was just that the pros of a gloomy day outweighed that which a sunny day had. Granted, the cons for a gloomy day might be considered worse than that of a bright summer-like day for some. "If only" was all the bard muttered as he walked through a park in the Londinium District. Hopefully no onlookers would think he was depressed. They always somehow managed to be able to tell if a conversation ever started up. Keeping a straight face was really something he had to work on.
"Huh" the bard said. Looked as if someone was performing alchemy. He appeared to be either a summoner or an animal trainer, who was creating mana fragments. Essentially the starting material for any alchemy item. The technique he used to create, or rather extract in this case was different from. While he would use his own this dwarf appeared to be extracting it from the air. Could it be from the life around him? It reminded the half alv of a show he once watched in the real world, where a water bender could bend the water and take it from the life around them. Was this similar? Only one way to find out. "Hey, how ya doing?" the male said, plopping himself down next to the alchemist. Hopefully he wouldn't get all defensive, or mad at him.
Frost took off the magic bag that everyone started with and placed it on his lap, before opening it. With an outstretched hand tilted towards the bag the alchemist concentrated for a few moments. Visualizing, believing there was a mana fragment there. Letting the mana flow down his arm and through his hand. In a few moments the crystal formed slightly above the hand, and fell right into the bag. See? He was an alchemist too! MADE BY SUNBUNS

Putting the Mana Fragment in his own inventory a voice called out to him. Fletcher looked around and saw a Half-Alv taking a seat next to him. He must’ve been taking to him, although he was going to assume as such to not appear rude. ”Oh, hey. I’m not bad; how are you?” Fletcher watched as this guy took a seat next to him and start playing with his bag. Had he met this guy before? Fletcher looked to Carbuncle for confirmation who seemed just as confused as he was. Perhaps he was just being friendly and wanted some company while levelling his Alchemy skills. Who could blame him? Crafting things could be a long and tedious process especially when things didn’t always have a guaranteed success rate.
The Alchemist beside him pulled the mana from the air around them and also produced a Mana Fragment before letting it fall into the back he brought with him. Now that was one way to do it. Fletcher looked to Carbuncle again who then looked back at its Summoner with confusion. If that was the simplest way to collect them then why had he been using Carbuncle as an intermediary up until now? Not that he overly minded, but it would’ve made things a whole lot easier if he didn’t have to have to also have Carbuncle out to be the one to collect them and put them away.
Fletcher cleared his throat before holding out his hand, offering a handshake. ”The name’s Fletcher. Pleased to meet a fellow Alchemist in these parts, haven’t had the chance to talk to anyone else about the working of Alchemy or Magitech the whole time I’ve been here.” He finished with a polite smile, moustache curling up as he did so. Carbuncle looked at the new Alchemist and tilted its head, wondering what was to happen next.

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggieno"] [attr="class","textieno"]Wash rinse repeat. That was a lot of what you had to do in alchemy, it seemed. At one point or another one always seemed to need mana fragments. Whether it be for a stabilized mana fragment or just a default fragment. Most recipes he read about seemed to need them. Although he didn't really read through what all of them needed thoroughly. Or at all really. Hell the bard couldn't even remember half of the items his crafting class could craft. Main thing he knew was that you needed a lot of those bad boys, and should make them whenever you had the chance. Like now. The other guy was doing it, so why shouldn't he? Following the steps taken before he produced yet another one of the strange crystals. It fell right onto the soft leather of the bag. Wasn't so hard after you'd made a bunch already, now was it?[break][break]
"Good good" the bard replied. What was that the man had out, his hand? A handshake already, or one at all was somewhat of a surprise. Don't act like it was so foreign though, give it a shake! And a good firm shake did the half alv give. Made a good first impression, or so he'd been told. People really made it sound as if it'd be really important to have in the business world. Whether or not it was was beyond him. Getting a job was what he'd planned to do shortly after his sixteenth birthday, but Elder Tale had other plans evidently. Much more, devastating ones one could say. But that didn't mean getting a job anytime soon was impossible. Who knew, maybe he'd start up his own business in this world. What would he name it though? What would he name it. That would be a question he'd have to think long and hard about if he ever decided to start up a business.[break][break]
"Eh same here same here" he said, smiling slightly at the dwarf. Being polite and enthusiastic was something he should do in this world. Make some friends here and there. Or just try and avoid making enemies. Either one worked. Both would yield the same results in the end. For him not to totally defeated in this world. "Name's Frost, by the way" he added. Now the introductions were out of the way. What next? Starting conversations with someone when you didn't have much in common was hard to do. "You got any plans to level up alchemy a lot, try and make some cool stuff?" There, something to start off a conversation. If the guy knew some way to get crafting experience fast fast fast he'd love to hear it. The items available to him at his level were just such a bore. Making something interesting and useful was what he wanted. But to do that he needed levels. It'd also help make it so that they wouldn't be of a poor quality. He wanted to make something he could be proud of. Something he could gladly say was made by him.[break][break] [attr="class","iconieno"] [newclass=.biggieno]margin-left:-300px;[/newclass] [newclass=.textieno]margin-top:-425px;margin-bottom:150px;width:300px;height:400px;padding:10px;background-color:#fff;border:solid 1px #b7b7b7;color:#939393;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;margin-left:610px;font:11px calibri;[/newclass] [newclass=.textieno::-webkit-scrollbar]width:10px;background:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.textieno::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background:#b7b7b7;border:2px solid #fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconieno]margin-top:-240px;margin-left:-220px;margin-bottom:50px;[/newclass] [newclass=.tagsieno]font:11px calibri;color:#b7b7b7;margin-top:-75px;margin-left:-75px;margin-bottom:40px;[/newclass]

Presenting his hand to the newcomer seemed to be unexpected or at the very least something that the new guy wasn’t used to. Maybe it was just Fletcher’s older age catching up with him, but he detect some hesitation with the handshake? He was clearly raised in a different time, and the businessworld revolved around giving a good handshake. Now this guy did give him one, but that pause was enough to give Fletcher an idea of what this guy was about. Nothing bad, but it did tell him something. Fletcher was handed another Mana Fragment by Carbuncle when its master’s attention wasn’t brought back to the task at hand right away.
The new fellow introduced himself as Frost, which made things easier to go forward with any conversations he’d have with him. The whole encounter did seem like something similar to a conman priming his prey or a begger putting on the friendly act before asking for some loose change though. He’d been through the motions and always pretended to not have any change on him when sometimes he did. He was used to paying for things with his credit card, or at least he was prior to switching over to a more literal currency system of gold pieces. When Frost spoke next, Fletcher was convinced. There he was looking for information or perhaps getting in on the ground floor of some overarching money making scheme.
It was true, Fletcher had considered pumping out wares and selling them to the wider market now that he had a better grasp of how to implement certain ideas and theories with the craft. With a sigh, Fletcher gave Frost a look over before deciding to be blunt. ”Oh I have plans, kid.” He stood up and stretched his back, looking down at Frost. ”In fact, I did all of my prep-work to do some levelling today and have most of what I’m doing down pat.” Fletcher fixed his beard before looking down at Carbuncle who chittered in response before scratching itself behind the ear.
”Mana Fragments like you’re doing now drop off in experience points fairly quickly even though they’re used in everything. The first thing you want to do is do a bunch of recipes for a ‘first time crafting bonus’ the system seems to encourage; doing that lets you seemingly batch produce the items again if you need them although you seem to suffer an experience penalty for that. If you’re looking for a quick bump in experience, take one of those Mana Fragments and condense it down into an Unstable Mana Core; or take both and make a Stabilised Mana Fragment once you’ve done that we’ll move onto the next thing. The goal is to get to level five as fast as you can and when there, that’s when the fun begins.”

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggieno"] [attr="class","textieno"]The guy had plans. How, expected. It was much more interesting to work with your hands and create something than to go out hunting monsters for some. Or it was generally just a mix of two. That's how it was for him, or how he would think it was. The bard still had to go out and slay some monsters in this world. Nothing wrong in holding back, right? Forming connections and getting information before heading out into the big bad wilderness wasn't something he should be ashamed of. Know as much about the enemy as possible. It could save his life, or one of his lives. He'd just end up respawning at the Cathedral in Westminster Abbey. Losing gold and such wasn't something he wanted to do. Be a pain getting it back if it was a lot. Not to mention getting back to the location if he was out travelling. If he had a mount it would be much more bearable. But that was a long way off. He'd have to level up his subclass to at least level ten before he could tame a creature. And then there was the problem of going out and finding one.[break][break]
"Got most of your stuff down pat you say?" the bard asked. A few examples would be nice. No shame in knowing a bit about some potential future competition. Undercut people every so slightly, get the hang of crafting what was popular. And do a bit of research for how he should name and describe items. Paying a bit extra for an item with an intriguing description was something he wouldn't mind doing. So others would likely do the same. Or they might just request a name and description of their own choosing. That could very well work too. Have to please the customer. Make it so they come back to you for any future needs in the field of alchemy.[break][break]
Frost listened intently to the dwarf as he spoke about what one should do when starting out in alchemy. Useful information, all of it. Unfortunate they you couldn't just mass produce mana fragments to gain experience. Although it did make sense. It'd also become very boring and even tiring after a while. Try something new. Aim to become the best in your field. Do whatever it takes! It was always good to have something to aim for. It kept you going. Kept you fighting till you achieved that. Kept you sane in this new world of theirs. "Strange, aint it though? I'm kinda like that Pokemon character" he thought to himself. He wanted to become the very best in his crafting field, and that individual wanted to become the very best trainer. Or to catch them all. Maybe it was both. He didn't remember.[break][break]
"So, you crafted anything cool yet? Made something that hasn't been discovered?" Frost asked. Man didn't give him much to go on. It was up to him to get him to keep the information about the craft pouring. The more information he learned the better. That didn't necessarily mean he'd stop crafting while he talked though. He repeated the previous steps taken to crafting the mana fragment, and let the product of his actions fall softly into the magic bag. Store them up for later crafting use that today. Maybe it would be alone, maybe it'd be done with the man he was speaking to. Judging from how he was called a kid it was suggested that he was way older than himself. Hard to tell with his voice.[break][break]

Fletcher grumbled as he was questioned about his discoveries in the field of Alchemy. He was only still starting out himself, but at least he was able to get one of the main recipes unlocked to begin experimenting with. Frost wanted examples though, and so it was only the polite thing to provide said examples. The downside was he had very little in the way of things to physically show; either from a bunch of junk that didn’t work or from storing away things he couldn’t use yet. He rummaged in his pocket and pulled out a piece of Reinforced Wire, and showed it to Frost. ”Not exactly revolutionary but this is Reinforced Wire; basic building block for most things Magitech at higher levels. Thankfully the recipe isn’t too high a level to unlock.”
He rummaged some more and pulled out a Stabilised Mana Fragment. ”This is the Stabilised version of what you’re making now. I’ve used these for lenses before and that seemed to work well enough for an experiment I ran a while back. Looking through the lenses, or at least the ones I made, let you see how mana flowed through Megitech; sadly most uses for that need you to be over level ten.” Pocketing the Stable Mana Fragment he looked down to Carbuncle, and then to Frost. ”My current project is a resonator that makes summoned Followers stronger, higher in level than their Summoner. I figured it’d offset Summoners being so weak compared to other classes.”
Fletcher sat back down and started pulling things out of his inventory and placing them on the ground, amassing materials for the next experiment. Regardless of the company, he was going to start making some kind of accessory to get more experience under his belt. He needed the levels to properly execute some higher tier crafts, so decided to start making a Magic Accessory while Frost caught up in levels. With what he already had made, the Bard shouldn’t take too long to catch up; all he needed to be was level five after all.
One of Fletcher’s most commonly used skills was Phantasmal Heal, some of Carbuncle’s special healing moves that could restore MP or HP as the situation required. As such, being able to use this skill more was always a plus and to do so the cost of it needed to be a little less. At his current level he wouldn’t be able to make a huge dent in the mana cos of the skill, but if the end result worked, he could always amplify it later with some better materials. ”Starting at level five you can make trinkets that can amplify magical effects; I’ve got some prototypes in storage for the resonator I mentioned but for now I’m just sticking to small things to get my skills up. Also, low level accessories sold for cheap could be useful to some of our lower levelled brethren.”
Picking up a scratched up pearl he passed it to Carbuncle. The blue fox seemed to know what to do and began channelling healing magic into it. ”Carbuncle and I are going to make an accessory. You’re welcome to stick around and watch, but you won’t be able to do this until you’ve got some levels under your belt.”

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggieno"] [attr="class","textieno"]Grumble grumble. This guy wasn't very pleased with all the questions he was asking, apparently. Wasn't like he gave the bard much to talk about. It was up to him to keep a conversation going. The fate of this conversation was on his shoulders! It was a heavy burden, but one he could likely handle. Maybe. Not really. He'd either run out of questions, or the dwarf's patience would run out. He'd need to get some support if they didn't want this conversation to die before it could finally bloom into something truly memorable. "Huh, cool" the novice replied as he took a glance at the reinforced wire that was shown. Some guild with Britain in its name had published information on the product of alchemy shown. The item could supposedly be crafted by a level one alchemist, so he'd bought some wire in preparation to make it. A lot of leveling was just going to be research, research and even more research. All he'd have to do was just retrieve some from his magic bag. Simple.[break][break]
Fletcher proceeded to pull out and show a stabilized mana fragment. One word to describe that. Boring. Already made it. Wasn't interesting. Just like a mana fragment. Except you stick two together. Wow. Such product. Much amazed. Nothing unique about it. Wasn't really flashy at all. Yeah, you could hold it without it melting unlike the materials used to make it, but it didn't really do anything. It was just another piece of material. One that he'd already done. Sure, the reinforced wire could be called all those things basically except for a few minor things and for the fact he hadn't crafted one. It was still new. Something that he could still try out, see how he felt about it. "Uh huh" was all that was said, as a confirmation that he was paying attention. Then he mentioned the little bit of information about his project. That was mighty interesting. "So like the enchantments that blacksmiths could put on weapons if I recall, right? Or was that a different thing? I don't recall. Still cool, being able to enhance your class like that."[break][break]
Oh, and look at that. The dwarf was starting to get ready for his next little invention. Well, why should he get all the fun? No sense in letting Fletcher get ahead of him in levels while he stood around. This guy was a potential rival in the alchemy business, couldn't fall behind! It was time to make something real interesting, something the old geezer hadn't shown him. And the bard had just the idea. A firearm mana fragment. Toss it on the ground then boom, tiny explosion! Or so he understood. He needed one stabilized mana crystal along with two mana fragments to create the item. He already had three default fragments, so all he needed was to craft one more and mix two of the already made ones together. Simple. Couldn't be that hard. Just sprinkle a bit of magic here and there. Wasn't like he was some muggle or something![break][break]
Letting the mana flow down his arm and threw his hand the bard concentrated, visualized the crystal slightly above his hand. He tilted it slightly so that it wouldn't dissolve upon creation. Sure enough in a few moments it has began to appear. Being a solid from the bottom to the top. It fell onto the soft leather, right next to the other crystals. That was easy. Slowly now he took the same hand he used to create the fragments and waved it over two, letting the mana once more flow through his hand. An ever so dim glow could be seen as it moved. When his hand had moved over the two crystals they'd fused, becoming what was known as a stabilized crystal. "Yeah yeah, they'd fall off fairly quick though I'd imagine" he replied as he thought about the next step he had to take. A lot of alchemy was hit and miss. [break][break]
"Sit and watch?" He replied, pausing for a moment. "Nah, I'mma work too. Things'll move by faster when you got someone to talk to, right?" The bard contemplated his next step of action for the creation of his small explosive.[break][break]

”You’re right about it being similar to Blacksmiths. While they’re masters of the forge and metal, we’re masters of magic in an applied sense.” While Fletcher spoke he watched Carbuncle intently. The blue fox had its eyes closed and much like all their experiments in the past, the Follower knew what its Summoner’s modus operandi was when it came to crafting certain trinkets. In the instance of making accessories that bolstered spells, a small amount of that spell needed to be retained in the item for it to be able to sync with its wearer to get the desired effect. While Carbuncle worked, Fletcher went about tidying up a piece of bronze that he’d picked up and started to shape it into something that was more wearable. Given the size and lack of tools to work it, more than likely this was going to be a bangle or bracelet of some description.
Frost mentioned that he was going to work on something as well. This was good, as Fletcher felt a little sorry for the guy just churning out fragments as his stand. He wasn’t sure what he was going to make with what he had shown him so far, so he thought to ask. ”And what is it you’re making? Unstable Mana Core?” He asked out of genuine curiosity given the circumstances. So far he’d found little in common with Frost aside from the Alchemy side of things, and he didn’t exactly feel right to be mentoring the kid given that level six was hardly what one could call a veteran at their craft.
Carbuncle bumped into Fletcher’s hand, dropping the pearl gently on the ground a soft light pulsing from its surface. The Summoner took note of the new traits the pearl had and thought about whether this would be usable in its current form. He’d had issues in the past regarding mounting gemstones onto jewellery but that could wait until he had finished preparing the rest of the piece. Looking to Frost again, ”So what brought you out this way before you stopped here to do some Alchemy?”

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggieno"] [attr="class","textieno"]Eh, so he was right. That was a first. But at least he knew and admitted to there being the chance of him being incorrect. That was good, right? Fletcher continued to work along with his summoned creature. Quite amazing how long it had lasted for. But then again it should be able to. Long fights with summoned creatures that lasted but a minute were useless. Some items might be able to prolong the time that they can last for. Heck, there were probably people that had sets specifically to do just that. It wouldn't be a surprise at all if that was the case. What he was going to build himself for was still unknown. Was it going to be for duration? He wasn't all too sure. It'd take some time of reading through and getting a grasp of what the bard's abilities could do. So that was going to be basically, in forever? Knowing how he pushed things it wasn't going to be any time soon he made a decision.[break][break]
What was he making? An unstable mana core? No no no. Although that might be the next thing he would work on. Sounded somewhat interesting. But how unstable was it? Hopefully not as unstable as one of his old teachers from long ago. If so that would be a nightmare. Then again, maybe a kid singing the anger management song to her wasn't the best of ideas. Yeah, most likely wasn't the best thing to do. The funny thing to do maybe. It had happened so long ago, surely she still didn't remember it. His friend was going to join in with him to perform his little song, but backed out at the last moment. Probably for the best. "Nah uh, want to try and make a firearm mana fragment. It'll be a blast to make." What a horrible pun. He should have never said it. Just like a dad joke. Except worse. Maybe this guy was a father, and would laugh? Who knew. A small smile was on his face for but a moment, before it quickly faded.[break][break]
Oh, another question. How fortunate. The fate of this conversation was now split between the two. Their fates intertwined. "What brought me out here?" The bard replied, repeating part of the dwarf's question. That was a good question. And did he have a good answer for that wonderful question? The answer was no. No he did not. "I just wondered about, bored to be honest" he added. It wasn't much, but it was something. Tilting his head down now the alchemist looked at what he had before him. Two default mana fragments and one stable one. He didn't know what to do for the next step, really. Well there was one way. Didn't seem like it was a smart way to do things, but it was all he had. Hovering his hand slightly above the fragments Frost began to do what he did previously. Let the mana flow down his arm and through his hand into the fragments. Except this time his mind wasn't exactly clear. Thoughts of the destruction and death caused by humans with explosives were flooding through him. The pain they could create. Secrets they could reveal. [break][break]

A Firearm Mana Fragment? Now that was something he hadn’t tried yet. He’d seen the recipe but hadn’t exactly wanted to try many explosives without some form of protection against explosions just in case. Granted, he was certain that the people that ran the inn wouldn’t like him blowing up the room if something went wrong. He’d definitely have to try it though, as it potentially solved another problem he was having in designing something much larger; but that could wait. In order for that project to go ahead, he’d need a lot more time, experience and space to properly work the kinks out of that potential disaster waiting to happen. Granted, if he got it working, he could be onto making the big bucks. Fletcher chuckled. ”A blast, you say? Well done. I’ll pay that.
He went back to finishing off the band of copper before running wire around it to make a mount for the pearl. He started off with a single piece and attached it to the band before doing it twice more. Once he had three pieces attached, he began to braid the wire together; it was slightly fancier than what he normally rigged up but that was possibly because he had an audience. With the mount done, it was time to reassess the mounting on the pearl given he’d put a braised wire pattern on the band. Taking the pearl in hand, he wrapped more wire around it so he had an anchor point to attach it to the band, coiling the wire around it in a helix motion to give it a little more flair. As soon as the two parts were combined, Fletcher slipped it onto his wrist and made the motion for Carbuncle to use Phantasmal Heal. Minimal amount of MP savings, but savings were savings.
He smiled to himself and patted Carbuncle on the head for a job well done. He looked across to Frost; wondering how far along he’d come with his Firearm Mana Fragment. ”How are you going to stop it from exploding? I should give making one of those a shot as well.”

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggieno"] [attr="class","textieno"]He'll pay that? The bard could only assume it meant he enjoyed it quite a bit. If not, oh well. No need to talk about that joke. Things would become too awkward too fast. Just stick far away from that topic. Who knew how bad it could blow up in his face? Hopefully neither it or his little creation would. He had to keep the thoughts flowing. Ones of death and despair. But also of advancement. How would they have built the railway across Canada without explosives? Either they wouldn't build it, or would simply have to go around. The latter was the hopeful outcome, but unlikely in the bard's eyes. Many lives would have been saved it they had never been discovered. But where would Canada be? It'd be a whole lot different than what they knew when they entered the world of Elder Tale. [break][break]
Frost finally reached a point where there was nothing left to give. No more memories of the history including explosives. It was done. He'd created his only little bomb. Moving his hand away and letting it drop to his side the bard got a good look at his work. The product was a blue looking crystal which was somewhat round. He have it a slight nudge with the hand that hadn't been used for the crafting process. Didn't melt away or explode. Success. He'd created something that didn't threaten to kill him. Would it kill others? Probably. High levels? definitely not. Only weak creatures would take any notable damage from the item. Even if they were the same level as it death might not be guaranteed. But who knew. Might sometimes kill it, while others times it might not. A test would have to be done to figure it out. Whether or not it was even reliable in battle had yet to be seen.[break][break]
How was he going to keep it from exploding? Well uh, didn't explode when he touched it. So that was a good thing. Assuming he remembered correctly all he had to do was throw it at something for it to explode. Probably meant playing hot potato with it was a bad idea. A very bad idea. Unless you wanted one less mouth to feed. Then it was a great idea. Go nuts with it. "Just keep it in a spot where it won't bang a lot, that'd be a good way to take care of it. I think." He paused for a moment. "What about you, got what you need?" Frost glanced at the dwarf.[break][break]

Fletcher nodded when Frost said that bumping around the volatile shard wasn’t the best idea. Exploding while it was in your bag wasn’t a pleasant thought, especially if the explosion was going to be anything stronger than a balloon bursting. It did give him ideas, and something that he’d have to try for himself. Explosions were everywhere back home; war, construction, and even controlled ones could be used in cars as far as he had been taught. While a Mechanic could probably work out the specifics for developing something like a steam engine, an Alchemist could go the step further and make something more unique with a tweaked revision of this recipe. Something like a zero emission super engine or something similar. Fletcher stroked his beard as he thought about it, looking to the bracelet on his arm and then down to Carbuncle who looked up at him with curiosity.
”I’ve gotten what I needed for my warm up, although you’ve given me an idea for an experiment. Not something I’ll be able to work on straight away, but it’ll be something great if it works, that’s for sure.” Fletcher stood up and grabbed Carbuncle, placing it on his shoulder. He stretched, placing his hands on his hips and looked at Frost with a smile. ”I’m going to go talk to a couple people about procuring more materials for this experiment of mine. We should do this again, company definitely makes this whole business a lot more enjoyable. Pleasure meeting you, Frost.” With a small wave Fletcher turned to go seek out the next interesting thing for him when it came to Alchemy. Plans of grandeur running through his mind and maybe just a tiny bit of excitement for finally getting closer to making himself an airship.

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggieno"] [attr="class","textieno"]An idea for an experiment? Good to know. Maybe if it ended up being something grand and quite the moneymaker he could get a part of the profits or fame. Who knew. Maybe he was just thinking of trying to wrap three of the firearm fragments together. Just for the hell of it. See if he'd be able to get one to blow up and toss the others into different directions. It was worth a try. Because after all, this world they were now in wasn't the same as the one they once knew. Creatures thought to be nothing but a fairy tail were now real. They were swept into a land full of a type of science different from theirs known as alchemy. Immortals existed. Known as adventurers. True death was impossible in this world. You couldn't escape. Pleasant, wasn't it? [break][break]
The black haired individual watched as the summoner brought his summoned companion up and onto his shoulder. They appeared close. Whether or not the creature acted that way because the dwarf held the power to essentially silence it for the rest of its life was unknown to him. It was nice to imagine that they simply both enjoyed each others company. Whether or not that could be said about some of the other summons summoners had at their disposable was once again unknown. Creatures like the Kraken wouldn't be so, friendly. Assuming it was anything like the Pirates of the Caribbean it wasn't something he would think would make a great swimming buddy. Fear was likely all what kept it obeying the summoner. It knew its life only existed if desired. All it took was the press of a button for it to never live again. That is, assuming they weren't summoned from some other world. Torn from their families, friends. The land they were once familiar with. [break][break]
"Mkay, and sure" the bard replied. It was time to say farewell it seemed. Whether or not the dwarf was going to be a future business rival still had yet to be seen. It'd certainly make things a bit more, interesting to say the least. Something else to aim for. Something to help keep him sane. "Same with you uh" Frost paused for a moment. What was his name again? It was on the tip of his tongue. Ah yes, it was coming back now. "Fletcher." He waved as well. Carefully the firearm fragment was slipped into the magic bag and the cover secured. Rising from the spot he sat the bard began to look around. What way had be come from again?[break][break]
